Is there a high-end digital camera that shoots only in black and white?Like, instead of a bayer array, the sensor has a matrix of black and white pixels?
excuse me for my ignorance but for what purpose?
>>3431594Phase one has bw backs.>The Phase One IQ3 100MP features a new CMOS sensor design, which is produced without a Bayer colour filter. This allows the sensor to capture all available light, unaltered and unobstructed. Because there is no colour information for the sensor to interpret, the IQ3 100MP Achromatic can use all of its considerable power to focus on detail, nuance and luminance.I kinda doubt you've cash for one.
>>3431597just to squeeze more performance out of the sensor. I was just curious if such a thing exists. I would expect it does.
