That's a big guy
>>
>>1452591
Hope you had a license for that
>>
>>1452607
Nah, I only do c&r, it was from my local club pit. I wouldnt pay 350 in monopoly money anually to steal their stock.
>>
>>1452591
Do you need a weapons license to buy fishhooks there? What about filet knives?
>>
>>1452615
>shuffles deck
>>
>>1452627
You need a license to fish and a license license to fish most privatley owned clubs lakes. Most public waters like park lakes and rivers fishing rights are owned too. Its pretty lame.

Carp in the UK aren't destructive to our ecosystem so culling them is banned and will land you in jail. They're also highly revered in the angling trade, fish like this 40lb+ one could probably fetch 25k

Lmao really?? That's insane you can catch stuff easy here. Caught this bare handed
>>
>>1452959
Bass is a shit sport fish for boomers if your not fishing for walleye,Trout, tiger musky or northern pike your fishing wrong
>>
>>1452962
Thats sick. Dedicated carp anglers prefer challenging fishing. We have "syndicate" lakes where there might be a stock of 20-100 fish in 8ish acres of water where even the best line might catch 10 fish a year. You can call them as retarded as u like but they're fuckin good at fishing

We get some big Pike in the uk
>>
>>1452966
Yeah here you just need to go to and run off stream with anything bow spear or your bare hands and you will get them pic is some guy I know on Instagram
>>
>>1452970
ok so you've spear raped 460 fish wtf do you do with them then? Does the average /out/ yank own a walk-in freezer?
>>
>>1452972
No one eats them they sell them as fertilizer and sell thing to pig farms as feed these are invase fish and it is illegal to not kill them if you catch them
>>
>>1452924
I knew that was coming.

>>1452959
>most popular sport in Europe
Compared to what, foot ball?
Also Australian so no bass here.
>>
>>1452963
Bass are fun if you live in the south where none of those other fish survive. The phenomenon of bass fishing as we know it now is entirely a product of unnecessary dams creating a glut of reservoirs.
>>
>>1453024
Ok guy
>>
Mornin' angle
>>
>>1452963
Yeah you are going after trash fish that will hit anything, so brave
>>
>>1453024
If you knew it was coming fix your grammar please. Also what territory?
>>
>>1453376
Phone posting and I only noticed the error after the fact.
ACT but I have lived in NSW, Vic and QLD.
>>
>>1453399
Fair enough I retract my correction. I'm looking for a change of scenery from near Mackay, what's the best territory for /out/ these days?
>>
>>1453404
It depends what you're looking for but the ACT is my favourite so far, it has a nice mix of everything and most of the public servants consider themselves "above the outdoors" so for the most part it's pretty unspoiled.
My main complaint is that it's two hours from the coast which makes surf fishing a pain but it's do-able.
>>
>>1453428
I'm more into hills and lakes and such so that's not a problem. Might take a drive through.
>>
One of the saddest sites I saw traveling in Europe was a guy with a 12' pole fishing for carp in a 15' wide canal. I think about that when I'm at 10,000ft in the Sierras with a Golden trout on a dry fly. Not to think how poor his situation is, but to realize how fortunate I am.
>>
I want to start fishing in UK as a hobby, what do i need to know before i start?
>>
>>1453541
That the United states is better
>>
>>1453538
Some euro canals have fuckin massive carp in, he was probably a retatd but that's to be kept in mind

If you know anyone who fishes ask them to take you out on a trip. if you don't know anyone then just buy a beginners fishing kit, find a body of water near you and start fishing. Don't be discouraged if you don't catch anything first try. Do some research on where you are allowed to fish before hand.
