We had a discussion about blown out baffles and expeds a while ago.

After that I mailed Exped and told them what happened and where I got it. They said they improved the glueing process and they would arrange for a new one to be sent to me.

So far so good, let's see if this one doesn't blow out a baffel too. But at least they have good customer service and that gives me some hope.

I have the integrated pump in the mat, and I have a pillow from Exped that acts as a pump.

The pillowpump is pretty handy for when the bed is all made up, and you can't be arsed to clear your sleeping gear from it and turn it on it's back again. Because of the tube.

He's right, it's a Czech M85 parka. And they are kind of hard to find in smaller sizes. I had to search for a while because I've got a slender build, and I ended up ordering one from a place called Mill's Fleet Farm which normally doesn't carry milsurp but they had some in stock labeled as small. It's still fairly large but I wear it over the top of whatever layers I'm wearing so it ends up fitting okay. It doesn't have many features but it stays nice and toasty

yes, this was for a several day trip in a mountainous arid climate. There was no water anywhere near us and there was a lot of physical activity. I actually brought a 5 gallon jug and left it in our camp aswell.

I had a haley flat pack plus stacked on top of the medium alice and my half of the canvas pup tent shelter tied to the bottom of the frame with the blanket rolled up in it. . The tarp was folded up and wedged into the frame behind my back. the meals were in the radio section of the pack, the sleeping bag was put into a compression sack with the bivy and i wore some of those clothes. There are several pouches ont he outside of my ruck that i use aswell. i had four canteens on the waste strap for his outing.

HPG Ute, kitbag, mountain serape, and windcheater. MLD duomid with a groundsheet from another tent, big agnes air core ultra, inflatable pillow, 15° sleeping bag, black diamond trecking pole. Rain shell (depending on weather), grid fleece top, long John's, extra tshirt, 2 pairs of socks, a buff, beanie, and ball cap. A knife, microspikes, headlamp, battery bank, water filter, 2 smartwater bottles plus and extra 1 liter water bag, small med kit, and a stove with a 700ml titanium cup.


This will get me upwards of 3 nights out and If I need to go longer I toss a pocket on the front for extra food storage. In summer it's pretty much the same except no sleeping bag, fleece, long John's,or spikes. Depending on conditions I also may add an ice axe, snow shoes, or bivy sack

They are the most ergonomic packs I've ever worn, they're ultra comfortable and that's why I buy them. The yoke harnes evenly distributes weight across the shoulders and you custom bend the frame to contoured your back, it is the most comfortable carry I have ever found and I mod all my non hpg packs to take their shoulder harness because of that

It's bigger than it seems, not the same anon but I have the pack as well. It's a great option for EDC and you can carry everything you need with quick and easy access rather than having to dig around through a top-opening sack type pouch.

It's about 25-30 liters, which fits everything I need for day trips, and I can clip or tie on sleep and shelter to the outside very easily. It's good for practicing packing with cause it teaches you to utilize space more effectively than other packs.

It's also extremely comfortable, like really really comfortable, even at higher weights, and it cinches down very well and quickly.

The reason I didn't go with the Umlindi like >>1456429 suggested is because it can't clip on to larger packs, which is my end goal and no vertical opening, like I mentioned.
