>stock tested 342hp and ran 12.8
>Just a tune gives 442hp and does 11.48
It's worth noting that this test was done in Florida in July. Stock Supras have been run as low as 12.1 in better climates, so the Supra can theoretically run 10s for under $60
>>
ZL1 Camaros can run high tens from the factory for 60k.
>>
>>21217012
Ok but we’re talking about actually good cars here not cletus’s shitmaro

>a rebadge BMW
>>
>>21217012
They're also $11000 more and weighs like 800lbs more
>>
>>21217002
Stock mustang GT's run a 12.4 for $40k.
inb4
>yeah but the supra is actually good!
>iiiits a ford!
>just wait until they crack the tuning code and aftermarket starts making these things in the 9s!
>>
>>21217002
It's too ugly. I don't care how fast it is. It really doesn't matter.
>>
>>21217002
worst car ever a disgrace to the real supra
>>
>>21217063
Congratulations
>>
>>21217040
Still better than any American pos
>>
>>21217063
>Just wait until they crack the tuning code
They already have, the car uses a BMW ECU and the B58 has been cracked for a while now lmao
>>
>>21217002
>needing "just a tune" on a $50,000 vehicle
This is where they fucked up. This thing should cost about 28k and you spend the rest of your money making it actually fast.
>>
>>21217289
>$28k for a 6cyl RWD 2-door car that puts out ~300hp
you're borderline retarded, not even the V6 Mustang/Camaro/370z is that cheap
>>
BRO ITS NOT A REAL SUPRA BRO PAUL WALKER BRO
>>
>>21217289
Literally every car needs a tune. Cars come from the factory with a one-size-fits-all tune that's supposed to perform decently while meeting EPA and CAFE and whatever other regulations. Once you buy it though, those regulations aren't your problem, so you have the ability to unlock a more potential car. There's no reason to not tune a modern car.
>>
>>21217063
It can’t turn as well
>>

That's actually pretty impressive. Wonder how they will go reliability wise. Might get one 2nd hand if they hold up
>>
>>21217307
Neither of those cars is as barebones as the Supra either you fucking brainlet.
>>
Its so funny people acting like the supra is some crazy new tech. BMW has been doing under tuned over engineered motors since 2007 (see n54) that run literally 80% more HP than stock with bolt ons and tune. All the new turbo I6 motors BMW has put out in the last decade are insanely tune-able.

Epic.

You what?

You can buy a 650hp sub 11 second ZL1 for 55k, completely stock. Also with the ability to turn at speed without rolling over. For an extra 7k you can get track/race braking, suspension, and handling

Nobody wants your overpriced rebadged shitbox for 60k + 15k for tune/mods LOL. Also enjoy voiding the warranty lmao eurocuck.
>>
>>21217786
so 5k for new car? sounds legit
>>
>>21217315
I live in California though so wouldn't they check it a lot? Would i have to "un-tune" it?
>>
>>21217761
Fuck supra and fuck jannies
>>
>>21218622

If it's like the car in the video which still has the factory cat and muffler it would probably still do fine in an emissions test. In the event it wasn't then you can flip to a different map slot in 5 seconds that would be basically the same as the factory tune.

Call them. You never walked into dealership before huh?
>>
>>21217002
Yeah I'm pretty pleased with the numbers they're putting down from the factory, when I heard about the launch and
>335hp
>3,300lbs
I was laughing at it. Luckily it seems that they're making more than 335whp from the factory so they're actually pretty quick. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to drive one yet so I can't comment on the dynamics and feel, but if recent BMW Z cars are any indication, it should feel really nice.

Shame about the styling though. I saw one in person at a show and it looked worse than it does in pictures. That was disappointing...
>>
>>21218908
Autotrader isn't a dealership anon...
>>
>>21218963
You can find the said dealership on them and call to ask wtf is mark up. You know that was the whole point I was trying to make

Why would I call them and ask them about something that doesn't exist?
>>
>>21217051
The "Supra" isn't light enough to go playing the weight game.

My dog shits turds that are better looking.
>>
>>21219380
Only with the performance package. Put that on top of the GT Premium and you're looking at a $46k car. I wouldn't mind paying the extra $4k for a significantly smaller car, even if it's pretty ugly and doesn't sound as good.
>>
>>21219496

Mustang GT Premium - 39.6k
10 speed - 1.6k
Performance package - 4k
Gives you 45.2 + 800 destination for 46k
And then it's another 2k for the digital gauge cluster which is standard on the Supra so 48k.
Looking at the Mustang build and price website pisses me off though because the way they bundle options is retarded. One of the most desirable things on a Mustang that you can't get on a Supra is the heated and ventilated seats, but you can't get both those and the digital cluster. Pretty dumb.
>>
>>21219674
Or not be retarded and get a manual, base GT for 34,500 + performance pack, and haggle your way out the door at $40k with 1.9% financing.

I was going to say something like
>12s from the factory isn't fast enough
>it's not a 911 bro
Then I realized a $40,000 Mustang GT auto runs 11s and I was like yeah, it may not be as bad as 335bhp/3,300lbs like the specs had me thinking, but the new supra should at least be faster than a Mustang.
>>
>>21219744
Sorry I value having a nice interior. Buying a new bare bones Mustang is a gargantuan waste of money. If all you care about is going in a straight line fast then you can do that for a helluva lot cheaper. I want a car that I actually enjoy being inside of, and if it's fun too then that's even better.
>>
>>21219754
And yet still better than anything the Bavarians shit out. Really makes you think.

It could be GT2-beating speeds for $35k and still sell like shit. It's the principle of the thing, not to mention the atrocious styling.
They renewed the nameplate specifically to target fans of the old cars; cloning a BMW Z4 is generally not what Supra fans were hoping for. Shit, at least develop your own engine, aren't they the biggest automaker on the planet?

Lighter and faster than the Z4 in drag race but obviously the big different is chassis rigidity. So keep waiting for official test time on tracks.

it turns and drives like a gt car without a roof, supra is more like a sports car.
