I disagree. I reckon Italian bikes are worth what they cost. I could say the same about Husky, KTM, Indian and some Brit bikes.

And then there's Royal Enfield.

Pic unrelated because reasons.

Italian bikes are only worth the cost because of the economy of scale and market. They don't make many and make up for it by being screaming death traps that will haul your massive balls once you get into the power band. They aren't expensive for what they are and how many they make. Harley is just shit all around for the price, rising cost of chrome notwithstanding.

You don't really just buy GP level bikes. You buy the right to run one, and access to their support infrastructure. A thousand man hours of factory tech time adds up real quick. IIRC the base Aprilia RSV4 race package comes with a bike (the full retard with pneumatic valves and everything non-essential stripped off), a spare engine, all the computer hardware and software to manage it, extra wiring harness so that you can run the motors off the bike, etc, etc.. And 24/7 factory support for the season.

bilt is exclusive to cyclegear. bilt is good for someone just trying out motorcycling and aren't sure if it's right for them. a minor opsie, and bilt gear is trashed.

What pisses me off is that I could have bought the Veloce GT which is older and doesn't come with the pinlock for $26 less. They are virtually the same helmet except the Veloce S comes with the pinlock which I didn't even get a chance to use.
>>
>>20821085
Probably a universal rally light. The bike is custom built.
>>
>>20821108
Personally I think the pinlock inserts are completely unnecessary and vastly overpriced.
I'd much rather buy a second replacement visor in a different tint. If your current shit steams up uncontrollably, then maybe its worth it for you. I wear glasses while I ride and don't have any issues with simply cracking open the visor at stops to vent out. As long as your helmet ventilation works to keep it clear at high speeds I see no reason to need a pinlock.
>>
>>20821108
you could always just buy another, its only like $25. way overpriced but not so expensive that it was a one shot deal

On another note. the pinlock inserts I've bought in the past were also very flexible, I would have guessed it would tear no crack.

Honestly, I just wanted to try it out. I only ride in dry conditions and ride a lot in the evenings and at night, which apparently it's not meant for. It's very likely I would have taken it off after today anyway, but I'm annoyed that I didn't even get a chance to try it out after paying more for a helmet that came with it.

>>20821164
What happened is that it cracked by the hole and a little piece chipped off enlarging the hole. The larger hole results in the pinlock not being pressed against the visor. If it just tore I still could have used it.
>>
>>20821171
I dont understand why it would be
is it because you don't want open your visor at stops? or because higher relative humidity doesn't wick away lense fog? I still crack my visor at stops in the rain and its never been a big deal. perhaps my helmet ventilation is better than I thought.

I can see how in the cold and wet it could be an issue, but I rode today in the rain, air temp was 50f and had nary a fogging.
>>
>>20821195
yeah that sucks. at 25ish a pop you'd expect those things to at least be durable.
>>
>>20821199
Every helmet I've ever owned has fogged up in the rain at stops
I make a point of not opening it ever while it's raining because then you have water on the inside and the outside to try and see through instead of just the outside.

When the weather is cold having a well ventilated helmet isn't a good thing. You could just remove the visor and wear goggles but that would be uncomfortable.

Also having to keep fucking about with opening and closing the visor is inconvenient, especially if you don't have frequent stops so you have to do it while in motion.

>>
>>20821450
MV's F4 had really bad fueling but the F3 and Brutale are supposed to be pretty good. They're mostly known for their looks and unreliability but they used to be the best. Made more to be moving art pieces than good motorcycles. They still have the 2nd most MotoGP wins despite not even being in it for ages.

Moto Guzzi is owned by Piaggio and made to be their cruiser brand just like Aprilia is their sport brand. As far as cruisers go they're pretty good, sound good and look unique but at the end of the day they're still cruisers so they're not going to have amazing specs.

>>
>>20821535
Piaggio is bringing it back. The lack of HP in the Heron head motors is due to Guzzi being owned by DeTomaso for 28 years, and he was a shithead.
>>
>>20821537
Factual. I not only fear the reliability, but the maintenance costs.
>>
>>20821450
Guzzi had some dark times, but the Piaggio buyout was mostly good for them. Afterwards they actually had money to fix things, and P threw its weight behind them. Basically if you want to sell or be an authorized repair for any of their brands (Aprilia, Guzzi, Vespa, etc) you have to stock parts and train for all of them. That vastly improved Guzzi's service network.

They don't have any proper sport stuff any more after the Griso was axed in '17 (and it was a very niche thing), but their big bikes are pretty great. The V7 is great around-town bike. Looks good, sounds good, runs good, and gets eye-fucked where ever it goes.

The tail section is where a lot of important electrical components are such as the fucking ECU(computer), battery and fuse block. Tank is fucked too, those can get expensive. Throttle clip on is broken and it will need new fairings and probably a headlight assembly. All of that and more could end up costing more than what the bike is worth.

Well I mean, back when they were doing the whole 'hey, flying is cool' thing, they thought certain speeds would be impossible because the pilot wouldn't be able to breathe.
I think it's the pressure on your nose that ticks a little 'Might be drowning' sensor.

So yes, no helmet would make it perceivably more difficult to inhale, but my guess is that their logic is they've never worn a helmet and have terrible comprehension of breathing, which would explain their lack of oxygen.

You can learn to overcome the smothering face life preservation thing, just like snorkeling or scuba diving.
Aside from the attempt to protect our head, good helmets (full face) also cover the mouth and/or have a visor, you'll see a lot of open face riders with a face-bandana-thing partially for that reason.
Additionally, most bikes have a windshield or high enough bars to disrupt the airflow and turn it turbulent.

Let me again refer to the photoreceptors in our eyes of ballz.
Human eyes can detect minute differences at lowest perceptible light levels, but falls of very quickly as they get brighter.
At the same time, it takes longer for the cones/rods to 'refresh' after being exposed to bright light (Going indoors after spending half an hour outside in peak summer sun, etc).

Fixed fairing headlights or fixed to fork style, the beam direction is less than preferable around corners and the contrast ratio of headlight vs ambient just makes it harder to see shit. It's literally the worst combination for viewing fine details and our brains building the data in time given the limitations of our photo-receptors.

Their customer base is dying off because they sell bad motorcycles and muh heritage doesn't work on the younger generations. Seems like they've realized this and are actively making better and more modern motorcycles now but they still have a long ways to go.

Check out the weight and power figures compared to any other bike manufacturer, coupled with the fact that they're expensive, unreliable, handle poorly, have unsafe geometry, and a lot of people I know consider them ugly. The only thing they're good at is rolling down freeways but a goldwing does that better anyways.

Not on the expressways. The same laws about front facing licence plates that make speed cameras not work on motorbikes...

Also, you just know McDelicery people would tace their 50cc scoots, and others with their suowrcub clones on then

Guys, I need you. I had an issue with my wee 125, Kawasaki eliminator, couldn't start, just clicks. Battery is fine, I can push start but that's it. Called a mechanic for 2 weeks, managed to get a check one months and 1 week later due to Easter. Now, they are saying I have to pay 400 £ for a starter. I don't have the money, I paid the bike 800, but what's worse I had the exact SAME ISSUE on December, and last time they said it was a cable. Are they scamming me?

lol, that was the Korean soldiers.
The Japanese soldiers treated POWs during Russo-Japanese War and World War One fine.

'Judge Bert Röling, who represented the Netherlands at the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, noted that "many of the commanders and guards in POW camps were Koreans – the Japanese apparently did not trust them as soldiers – and it is said that they were sometimes far more cruel than the Japanese."[72] In his memoirs, Colonel Eugene C. Jacobs wrote that during the Bataan Death March, "the Korean guards were the most abusive. The Japs didn't trust them in battle, so used them as service troops; the Koreans were anxious to get blood on their bayonets; and then they thought they were veterans."[73][74]'

>One day in June, at the age of 13, I had to prepare lunch for my parents who were working in the field and so I went to the village well to fetch water. A Japanese garrison soldier surprised me there and took me away, so that my parents never knew what had happened to their daughter. I was taken to the police station in a truck, where I was raped by several policemen. When I shouted, they put socks in my mouth and continued to rape me. The head of the police station hit me in my left eye because I was crying. That day I lost my eyesight in the left eye.
>After 10 days or so, I was taken to the Japanese army garrison barracks in Heysan City. There were around 400 other Korean young girls with me and we had to serve over 5,000 Japanese soldiers as sex slaves every day - up to 40 men per day. Each time I protested, they hit me or stuffed rags in my mouth. One held a matchstick to my private parts until I obeyed him. My private parts were oozing with blood.
>One Korean girl who was with us once demanded why we had to serve so many, up to 40, men per day. To punish her for her questioning, the Japanese company commander Yamamoto ordered her to be beaten with a sword. While we were watching, they took off her clothes, tied her legs and hands and rolled her over a board with nails until the nails were covered with blood and pieces of her flesh. In the end, they cut off her head. Another Japanese, Yamamoto, told us that "it’s easy to kill you all, easier than killing dogs." He also said "since those Korean girls are crying because they have not eaten, boil the human flesh and make them eat it."
>One Korean girl caught a venereal disease from being raped so often and, as a result, over 50 Japanese soldiers were infected. In order to stop the disease from spreading and to ’sterilize’ the Korean girl, they stuck a hot iron bar in her private parts.

Yeah wow Japanese were angels. Fuck off with your revisionist history, retard.

>From April 1948 to May 1949, the South Korean province of Jeju Island was subjected to an anti-imperialist, communist-linked insurgency and subsequent anticommunist suppression campaign, during which between 14,000 and 30,000 people were killed.[3][4]:139, 193

>During this period, ROK police forces engaged in numerous war crimes. One report describes the events of December 14, 1948 at a small Jeju village, in which ROK forces attacked the village and kidnapped many young men and girls. The girls were gang-raped over a two-week period and were then executed along with the young men.[7]

Yes, Japan leaving Taiwan was so good for them. God bless the USA.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_28_incident
>During the 50 years of Japanese rule in Taiwan (1895–1945), Japan developed Taiwan's economy and raised the standard of living for most Taiwanese people, building up Taiwan as a supply base for the Japanese main islands. Consequently, Taiwanese perceptions of the Japanese rule were more favourable than perceptions in other parts of East and Southeast Asia.

>After World War II, Taiwan was placed under the administrative control of the Republic of China to provide stability until a permanent arrangement could be made. Chen Yi, the Governor-General of Taiwan, arrived on October 24, 1945, and received the last Japanese governor, Ando Rikichi, who signed the document of surrender on the next day. Chen Yi then proclaimed the day as Retrocession Day to make Taiwan part of the Republic of China, although there were questions about the legality of doing so.[7]

>The February 28 incident or the February 28 massacre, also known as the 228 incident (from Chinese: 二二八事件; pinyin: Èr’èrbā shìjiàn), was an anti-government uprising in Taiwan that was violently suppressed by the Kuomintang-led Republic of China government, which killed thousands of civilians beginning on February 28, 1947. The number of Taiwanese deaths from the incident and massacre was estimated to be between 5,000 and 28,000[1]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1938_Yellow_River_flood

>The 1938 Yellow River flood was a flood created by the Nationalist Government in central China during the early stage of the Second Sino-Japanese War in an attempt to halt the rapid advance of Japanese forces.

>The Nationalist government, after initially claiming that the breach was caused by Japanese bombing, used the heavy casualties to demonstrate the scale of sacrifice required of the Chinese people; it claimed that 12 million people had been affected by the flood

>because there were many Chinese civilians killed during the flood by the KMT, most of the civilians residing in that area began to cooperate with the Japanese.

I laugh at the absurdity of life. That is all man can do.

'There is also another vanity, which is done upon the earth. There are just men to whom evils happen, as though they had done the works of the wicked: and there are wicked men, who are as secure, as though they had the deeds of the just: but this also I judge most vain.'
