>can't afford
Then you shouldn't be on the roads. I think Insurance is a scam but I also realize that it's more about people hitting me, not the other way around.
>>
>>20389203
Insurance is a scam. You don't even get a discount for having new tires.

Rates are outrageous most of the time too. Sometimes you just get lucky and find one that's not rape but that's calling most of the companies and haggling

Doesn't change the fact that most states basically make it a criminal offense to not have it.

That's an interesting point tho, having discounts for those who keep their car in a "good" roadworthy condition; new tires, lights working, body panels not falling off, windows not improperly tinted. Even offering discounts for those who take drivers classes or demonstrate higher ability to control one's vehicle.... NOW we're getting somewhere!
>>
>>20389236
You know, in functioning states, all this is taken care of by regularly scheduled thorough inspections.
>>
>>20389239
You'd better not be referring to Cali.
>>
>be me
>160 IQ
>know that preparing for the unexpected is only for those that cannot expect well enough

Accidents only happen to imbeciles
>>
>>20389239
Maryland has 1 safety inspection when you purchase the car
New Jersey got rid of safety inspections I believe back in 2009
>>
>>20389254
>What are your strong points?
>Well, I'm good at expecting
>>
>>20389268
Yes and accidents do not happen to me. It is as if I live in the future.
>>
>>20389120
Have you tried, just like, NOT being a poor?
>>
>>20389236
I think if you have some kind of racing license you should get a substantial discount. It is a good sign you have better car control and awareness than someone else
>>
>>20389120

Youre a fucking idiot, its not about the state of your car, its about the possibility of causing damage/injury to others and your ability to compensate them. Your fucking tires and shit are irrelevant you shit for brains
>>
>>20389282
Literally only moronic subhumans get into accidents
>>
>>20389276
Is this Trump's 2020 campaign slogan?
>>
>>20389287
Truth to this.
>>
>>20389254
>>20389270

That is litterally what causes most avoidable accidents. You are not omniscient not mater how much you think you are. The human brain lives in the past and really has a low range of sensory.
>>
>>20389295
Wrong. It's fine for you to be wrong, since you aren't me. You should get wrongness insurance.
>>
>>20389289
idk

I voted for Gary Johnson. You know, that guy who didn't know the name of a city in a country that he didn't want to bomb civilians in.
>>
>>20389120
Everytime I watch COPS or live PD it always boggles my mind how people are retarded enough to drive without insurance. If you can't afford it now you really won't be able to when you get caught driving without it.
>>
>>20389303
It's amazing what used to disqualify candidates.
>>
>>20389299
Then someone lied to you about your IQ

By the time your nerve receptors are stimulated by an outside event the event has already happened. Then the signal has to be transmitted through your nerves to your brain, there is a measurable lag here (and it is longer for some signals as they are prepossessed by the spinal cord and brain stem). Once the signal gets to your brain it has to be processed and your brain her actually does a lot of error correction based on past experiences. Finally everything gets composited together and your conscious mind gets a looks-y at what your unconscious mind did.

Only after that can you even begin to formulate an conscious response. The only way you are not subject to this lag is if you have somehow circumvented the laws of thermodynamics. If this is the case I demand proof.
>>
>>20389295
Just good situational awareness is enough to avoid most accidents

It's not. Going to prevent a tree falling on your car or something but I said most.

Shit happens you retards.

>be driving to work
>roll up on red light, slowing down
>hit patch of black ice
>slide into car in front of you with just enough force to fuck up both cars
>me and other driver exchange info as courtesy but we both shrug it off
>accident not reported, no harm no foul
>>
>>20389360
Not my problem. Figure it out.
>>
>>20389360
Quit being an autist, get some friends that can lend you money for your first insurance payment, then use what you earn at your job to pay any later payments, pay back your friends and also take them out for a drink as a thanks.
>>
>>20389334
Don't have to read your post. I know what's in it. The same goes with all scenarios in life for me. I am unique in this. I do not need insurance because I won't get into a car if the outcome is that a crash will occur.

They would count it the other way. Racing license = price gouging.
>>
Insurance is a fucking joke. $60 a month for a 96 Accord at 25 with liability only.
>>
>>20389239
Virginia has a safety inspection every year and it costs $16. It's a great way to keep scum off the roads since they can't obtain their precious window sticker. You'll get pulled over constantly without the sticker
>>
Most accidents are avoidable. Doesn't mean you should drive without insurance.
>>
>>20389203
This.

>seat belt law
Protects me from me to put money in insurance companies pocket, bullshit law
>required insurance law
Protects me from incompetent morons that share the road, good law

People who drive without insurance are bad, mmkay.
>>
>>20389464
>fines

What about the lawsuits? All it takes is some old lady claiming whiplash in front of old jurors, and you now owe hundreds of thousands in medical bills to the court.

you...you are a really, really, sad being.

I feel really bad for you dude.
>>
>state won't actually let you register a car without current proof of insurance
Well, okay.
>>
>>20389568
Yeah, I'm stuck in that loop. No one will hire me because I don't have reliable means of transportation, I cant register my car because I don't have insurance, and I can't afford insurance because I don't have a job.
>>
>>20389586
Hey you fuckin stupid little bitch I rode a bicycle 40 miles a day for a whole year through all weather, through the ghetto at 3 a.m.(on the way home) just to get to work at a tobacco warehouse when I was 17-18 so I could afford a car

Bought a 2001 P71 interceptor and got a better job

Loved that car

Shits backwards no inspections to keep unsafe shit heaps off the road but you have to have insurance so the person that hits you doesn't sue you for being in their way.

>cat poster is poor
colour me surprised
>>

How long can you go without having car insurance? I got pulled over by the police once because I switched from one car insurance company to another and the DMV didn't know about it for some reason. The police seem pretty quick about it.
>>
>>20390899
I was without car insurance once for like 6-7 months because apparently my insurance company didn't get a payment for some reason, didn't notify me, but only found out when the police had a warrant for me.
>>
>>20389307
idk senpai I got caught riding dirty once and the fine was 500 bucks. I drove for at least two years without it so assuming 100 a month, at two years I came out 1900 ahead in the short term
>>
>>20389254
>>20389287
Fuck off they do, cunt.
I've lost two cars to old age pensioners who should've lost their license a decade ago because THEY didn't follow basic road rules and totaled me.

Tell me any of that was my fault because I was fucking there.
>>
>>20391582
Should've moved out of the way retard.
>>
>>20391582
>He doesn't know what is happening 360 degrees around him at all times

0/10 would not operate with
>>
>>20389236
Manual transmission drivers should get a discount as well. In this decade, stick drivers care a lot more about their vehicles and not wrecking them. It follows the same logic as male teenagers being more reckless.
>>
>>20389120
You are the reason why rates are high.
Everyone else has to pay more for insurance because your death machine on wheels might hit them and we all have to collectively pay for the damage to our vehicles and all other bills (medical, rental, etc.) when your broke ass can't pay it.

Insurance may appear like a scam to the lot of you, but it's the best thing to save our ass when we fuck up, when someone else fucks up, and when the world wants to spite someone by rube goldberging our car into something.

I once drove without insurance for four years before I realized that I needed it.
What made me realize that I needed it was when I a friend of mine asked me what insurance company I was with when we were talking about finances.

Never once got in a wreck or pulled over.
I was young and dumb at the time, but at least I was an extremely safe driver.
I ended up just getting the bare minimum insurance because I don't ever expect to get into a wreck.
It really isn't that hard to stay out of trouble or avoid potential accidents when you're actually paying attention to the road around you.
>>
I've had the misfortune of being in two wrecks as a young man, so now I pay $280/mo for fucking limited liability
I fucking hate insurance
>>
>>20389120
>can’t afford insurance
Then you cannot afford to be driving. And if you are, it is because you feel self-entitled to hit-and-run because that's the mindset of people who don't want the police to show up and cite them with a criminal violation. And just like they don't want to pay for insurance, hell with paying $5000 or more to the body repair shop for the damage to someone else's car plus their medical bills.

This is why all USA states should standardize in this computer age. Install license plate scanners at a few major intersections and freeway off/on ramps. The current status of plates, tabs, insurance, and drivers license for that car will be checked.
>>
>>20391858
Fuck off nazi. Insurance should be an opt in.
>>
>>20391950
Insurance for your car should be opt in, and with today's safety standards we should also legalize drunk driving so that you can pay for your own mistakes and not necessarily anyone else's if you feel like gambling
>>
>>20391950
Only if I'm allowed to garnish your wages to pay for my car if you crash into it.
>>
>>20391858
>This is why all USA states should standardize in this computer age. Install license plate scanners at a few major intersections and freeway off/on ramps. The current status of plates, tabs, insurance, and drivers license for that car will be checked.
Fuck this police state crap.
I have insurance, but I sure as hell don't approve of this.
>>
>>20391994
Nah man. Just also if you wouldn't mind putting this tracking chip in your car too. Wouldn't want you accidentally going to fast now, would we?
>>
>>20392002
Kind of reminds of when I was once pulled over because the cop suspected me of driving under the influence.
It was just the strong wind that day, blowing my small car damn near off the road.
Had to take a sobriety test, pat down, and everything before he believed me.

I'd hate for some computer to register me as a drunk driver just because some camera or scanner saw me move a little off from a straight line.
>>
>>20392026
And don't forget, they'll probably not even send a cop after you. Just nail you with a huge ass fine and a felony.

Trust us, police state good.
>>
>>20391593
how?
>>
>>20390899
i have been driving my current car without insurance for like 5 months. My last car had insurance but the VIN was wrong so technically if i got stopped by police they could of done me in for no insurance.

Never been stopped or anything.
>>
>>20389239

>>
>>20389203
>it's more about people hitting me
No. It's more about you hitting someone else. You need to be able to pay for damages even if the only thing in your name is a 3K shitbox (now wrecked) before you declare bankruptcy.
>>
>>20391858
>This is why all USA states should standardize in this computer age. Install license plate scanners at a few major intersections and freeway off/on ramps. The current status of plates, tabs, insurance, and drivers license for that car will be checked.

Dafuq?

I don't have to prove my innocence.
