https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/01/09/migrant-caravan-trump-crackdown-has-not-slowed-flow-families-us/2523034002/
President Donald Trump's efforts to halt migrant caravans and limit asylum have not deterred Central American minors and members of their families from rushing toward the USA, according to data released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Wednesday.

Border Patrol agents apprehended 27,518 members of family units in December, the highest monthly total on record. That figure has steadily climbed for five months, even as Trump made stopping migrant caravans the centerpiece of his midterm election strategy and drove Washington into a partial government shutdown over funding for his border wall.

Those caravan members, most of whom tried to exercise their legal right to request asylum in the USA, contributed to a third straight month of more than 60,000 migrants being detained at U.S. ports of entry and arrested in the vast stretches of border in between.

The Trump administration points to those numbers as proof that the situation along the southern border is at "crisis" levels that require the expansion of the border wall. Trump used a national TV address from the Oval Office on Tuesday night to argue that case.

>illegal immigration trending down during Obama years
>trending up during Trumps years
Why is the right so bad at protecting our borders
>>
>migrant(s)
Ummm no sweetie, they are criminal parasites that don't even deserve a marked grave.

>what is gaslighting and why does the american media do it?

True put land mines on the border.
>>
>>337253
Hasn't the numbers been down by like 40% since before Trump made a big stink about it? I very much recall receiving that statistic but can't recall from where
>>
>>337268
>http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/11/28/5-facts-about-illegal-immigration-in-the-u-s/
The overall population of illegals has dropped 13% from a peak of 12 million in 2007.

Apprehensions at the border have been dropping since 2000.

However, the number of families being apprehended has gone up.

So based on this, overall numbers are down but the proportion of families trying to cross has increased.
>>
>>337253
We do have a broken system. To be forced to allow upwards of 30,000 people into your country a month, and then to be responsible for all of them while they go through a lengthy legal process, it's not feasible.
>>
>>337268
>recall receiving that statistic
Why, it's almost as though the media cherry picks statistics in order to push whatever agenda item that day and has no qualms pushing the opposite even a few days later. And they think we won't notice. What could motivate them to do such things?
>>
>>337292
>So based on this, overall numbers are down but the proportion of families trying to cross has increased.
That's kind of a disturbing trend, if you think about it. The solo males were probably mostly economic migrants, looking for work. But when do people flee with their entire families? When they're trying to escape something. Like the Caravan that came from Honduras, after the crackdowns by the police and army on protests there. Is this a temporary blip, or is Latin America becoming even more brutal and repressive?
>>
>>337263
Build the wall out of fire
>>
>>337352
> But when do people flee with their entire families?
They don't. The caravan was mostly young men and the women and children who were there were there because they were being trafficked. They exploit the easily duped liberals and MSM to get in by trafficking women and children and claiming to be a family.
>>
>>337355
You have absolutely zero evidence for any of that shit.
>>
>>337364
Other than pictures and videos of course..
Likely "edited" right?
>>
>>337392
That's not a citation.

We'll need them at all of the international arrival gates as well. Just as many Niggers, Poos and Chinks simply flying here as Spics jumping the border.

It is like the left (you) and the media dont understand how the internet works.

Should have built the wall.
I mean, its pretty obvious

No wall drone strikes.

People just make things up and present them as fact?
>>

No, videos and archives kill shills like you
>>

A video can have a strong emotional impact, but it's ultimately an anecdote. Reality is shown when you actually look past the sensationalism to the actual data and large scale studies.
>>
>>337525
> to the actual data and large scale studies.
aka stuff that leftists and their MSM propaganda machine just make up. they demand that we ignore what's going on right in front of our faces and believe a made up narrative designed to keep us complacent while they slaughter white men and replace them with their pet mutts.
>>
>>337536
You're pretty seriously disturbed, m8.
>>
>>337525
> Reality is shown when you actually look past the sensationalism to the actual data and large scale studies.

The reality is that just as with the uncontrolled mass migration of Arabs, Africans and S.Asians into Europe, the overwhelming majority of Latino migrants swarming into the U.S. are young healthy males, as the trip to the border is difficult but now that the Latinos having adopted the “asylum” ploy (with the prodding and support of American open-border shills) used so successively in Europe, they can later safely import their entire extended clan once these young healthy males get approved.

But this image of young healthy Latino males doesn’t fit the propaganda that the open-border kooks are pushing, so just as in Europe, the media goes out of its way (to the point of literally staging the shots) to include a couple of poor helpless women and children in the photos and videos.

Make no mistake about it, the mass migration (both here and to Europe) is wholly economic, as we have a generous welfare system and even living in poverty in the U.S. is better than holding down a job in Latin America.

It doesn't matter whether it is 5 or 500,000, the illegal entry into the US must stop.

Nah. Your broken English and your writing altogether gave it away.
>>
>>337262
My guess is that migrants heard rumors that it's going to be infinitely harder to migrate soon, legal or otherwise, so they're trying to race against the clock.
>>
>>337500
Then post them.
>>
>>337656
When you're reduced to strawmanning it means you have lost the argument.
>>
1) I agree with President Trump that we need a wall.
2) I agree with President Trump that Mexico will pay for it.
3) I agree with Congress that we should pass a budget that does not include funding for the wall ... see point 2).
4) Congressional Republicans and President Trump lied about who would pay for the wall.
>>
>>337688
This along with increasing violence in their home countries. The communities that are undergoing full scale collapse are simply at the edge, experiencing it first.
>>
>>337262
Because Dems stonewall everything to do with immigration that didn't come from another dem
>>
I don't get the media. They give wall to wall coverage of a child dying from dehydration after spending a week walking through the desert to get to the United States, and when Donald Trump says the amount of families crossing the border is a crisis, they say that he is a liar and exaggerating.
Well, which is it? Is it a big deal or not? And if it's not a crisis, why did you spend a week talking about it?

The vast majority of (catholic) latino migrants are honestly better and harder working people than the type of spoiled suburbanite shithead who posts non-stop on /pol/
America would be better off if you were all sent to clean up the Pacific Garbage Patch with pool cleaners and your property given to pablo and his nine sons who aren't edgy atheists or protestants

deport all muslims though
