doing Pic related for 10+ hours a week is completely healthy and has no negative effects on your posture, hip flexors, neck, wrists, or prostate. Anyone who says this isn't healthy is a scare-monger who is trying to sell you something. Trust the true online obsessives and the industry - they know what is good for you. Road cycling is healthy and if you have any problem you can solve it by spending money on multiple professional fittings, new saddles, custom-length cranksets, toe-alignment (you are clipping in right???), carbon (more flexible), new handlebars, and more ergonomic STI shifters. Seriously this is a completely natural human movement and if you have erection problems you are simplying an idiot who has not properly fit his saddle and isnt willing to try 6+ $200 saddles to figure out which one is right for his anatomy also remember cycling is a cheap and affordable hobby you shouldn't spend too much everyone should ride and also learn to take the lane because we have as much rights to the 45mph road as the barely sentient SUV driving text messagers and you should ride in the road because if we all ride in the road the cars will give up and we will win and then everyone can ride like us because we are tough and ride very hard and we are serious cyclists
>>

well there's your problem obesity contributes greatly to erectile dysfunction so does diabetes (which is why you're so fat, LOL) stop guzzling gallons of soda everyday and lay off the hot pockets and chicken tendies champ. Also try taking a shower at least once a day you smell like spoiled milk.

Damn. OP went there, but it needed to be said. Cycling is like heroin... Fun until youre half dead in a gutter, emaciated, and your dick hasn't worked for years.. because you got hit by a car and because of the prostate pain and you're doing because all you eat is speed beans

Yeah because Greg LeMond, Eddy Merckx, Chris Froome, Bradley Wiggins, Geraint Thomas, Fabian Cancellara, Andy Schleck, Alberto Contador, all these pro cyclists who cycled for years have TONS of cycling related injuries, right?

Apart from Froomey crashing into a brick fucking wall obviously, but that's nothing to do with cycling position which is the "point" that you're trying to make.

Are Americans proud of LeMond? The only American to win the Tour de France, and he won it three times. Not only is he the most successful American cyclist of all time but he's also one of the best TdF riders period. He has more TdF victories than such greats as Fausto Coppi, Laurent Fignon, and Alberto Contador.

I think he's a great guy and I'm not even American. Not just one of the best cyclists of the Tour de France ever but one of the best personalities too.

Lemond didn't have enough of an 'america, fuck yea' attitude for murricans
he basically emmigrated to france
rode for a french team
was relatively soft spoken and nice
had a french sounding name

Armstrong was always the one who personified the american attitude and captured their hearts
lemond even spent year crying about him

although lemond did get shot which is pretty patriotic

You can also get a Hammock saddle.
All bicycle saddles before the 1950s were made of leather. They knew it worked and worked well. Plastic/foam alternatives are simply put, trash. A saddle must be made of leather to be even counted as a saddle IMO. Now I would have no problems with them creating synthetic or lab grown leather with the same properties. But it ain there yet

I personally wouldn't get a recumbent for comfort. A crank forward bicycle is also not as comfortable as all your weight is on your buttocks. At least a bent spreads it out over your whole upper body and a drop bar bike spreads some of it on your arms. Dutch granny bicycles share this upright position with crank forwards and from experience with the former I can tell your ass hurts much more than on a roadbike after 15 km, cause it gotta support all your weight.

Recumbents are basically cancer

What happens when you need to go up a steep hill? You're fucked. That's why a road bike is the best form of bicycle, PERIOD. The versatility and the speed are unmatched.

Unless you want to go off road I guess. In which case get a cyclocross or an MTB. But why the fuck would you want to go off road and get all muddy and shit? I guess I can see some appeal on the weekends but for getting around, for commuting, and for sport, for me, it has to be road bikes.
>>

What do you expect from a bunch of fringe elements, basically rejects of society, the proverbial 'square pegs' that don't fit anywhere? Of course they like things no one else likes or wants.
>>
>>1355943
What's weird is that she looks like a proper cyclist with those THICC legs and that skinsuit. I guess she's just trying out the recumbent to humour the people who made it.

>>1355944
Sounds shit, you still won't be able to put down the amount of power that you would with the entire weight of your body assisting you in pushing down on the pedals.

>>1355946
Yeah, true I guess. But yeah I do think this design - >>1355868 - is probably the least odious. For a casual person just riding around town, yeah maybe I can see the appeal. It would be shit if your town or city has hills though.
>>
>>1355946
This is extremely fascist
>>
>>1355947
>Sounds shit, you still won't be able to put down the amount of power that you would with the entire weight of your body assisting you in pushing down on the pedals.

Wrong, you can use even more power on a bent with a hardshell seat because you got something to push up against. But NO one recommends doing this, as you will blow out your knees. This is why in the recumbent community it is taught to spin in low gears instead.

On an upright, you are limited by gravity. On a recumbent, the only thing that limits you are your muscles. But your muscles are often stronger than what your knees can handle. So don't use too much torque on a bent. Spin that baby.
>>
>>1355980
> bent riders are spinners
Not sure they can get any more based at this point. It's like the stoner chill of MTB culture with the technical autism of Roadie culture, plus your dick still works

Nope. The road is for cars AND ROAD BIKES, and cars are for driving your road bike to the road race venue. Maybe I'll see you up at one of the rugged vistas I regularly climb to before shredding back down the singletrack like a bat outta hell, I doubt it hehe. Until then have fun playing dress up to go pedal in a flat circle faster than the other men playing dress up. Nothing personal bitchboi

Well okay but that's not what I'm getting at.

Greg LeMond should be revered by Americans and, in fact, they should build fucking statues of him, and I'm not kidding.

Not only is he the ONLY American winner of the greatest bike race on Earth. Not only did he win it THREE TIMES, making him one of the most successful riders of that race OF ALL TIME. But he did it all while taking a vocal anti-doping stance, which has personally cost him a lot (e.g. losing his LeMond bike deal with Trek after he CORRECTLY accused Cunt Cuntweak of doping).

Now, maybe Greg did dope and it's all a big lie - I guess it's possible since so many top cyclists have doped. But I doubt it. There have never been allegations. And like I say, Greg's anti-doping stance has literally cost him dearly. He does appearances at anti-doping events for free, even when it made him a pariah because he was CORRECTLY admonishing the cheat du jour back in the 2000s.

Greg is everything that Cunt Cuntweak isn't. Greg is a rider. Greg is a fighter. Greg is an honest fucking guy. Greg is THE GREATEST AMERICAN CYCLIST TO HAVE EVER LIVED, AND ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL RIDERS OF THE TOUR DE FRANCE EVER. And Cunt Cuntweak is nothing but a two-bit fraud.

I'm not American, I'm British. But Greg is one of the greatest cyclists and one of the most inspirational cyclists of all time and it's a fucking crime that he doesn't get the recognition that he deserves. Cunt Cuntweak deserves nothing more than to be consigned to the dustbin of history, and preferably he should be locked up in stocks and have rotten tomatoes thrown at him, on at least a weekly basis, for the rest of his life. Or in fact just send him to jail for the millions of dollars worth of fraud that he committed (maybe billions, I'm not sure).
>>
>>1356746
I met Greg in the Napa Valley in '87 or so. Very nice guy. We had pulled over to take his pic as he rode by, so he pulled over to talk. Seemed like a very down to earth guy.
>>
>>1356850
That's cool. Yeah he seems like that kind of guy. I just think it's a crime he doesn't get more recognition given that he is a) the only American to win the Tour and b) won it three times, putting him among the best road cyclists ever, to be honest.

I think cycling for exercise is a bit of a meme. It's a niche sport and should stay that way. I can't imagine being on a bike for longer than an hour. Tbh my prostate hurts just thinking about it.
