I miss their chrome livery so much.
>>
>>1316885
Same here, famalam. New scheme is gay. If anything, they should have went back to the original livery.
>>
>>1316915
They had to change it because of the 787, but even then they'd probably be better off replacing the chrome parts with white.

ORD used to be top tier comfy when there were more types of planes going through.
Now all it's all just Arab-buses and MAX abominations

All these boring eurowhite and light grey liveries seems ass backwards from a marketing standpoint.

K12, when AA used to base the 777s
>>
>>1319832
youd think they would want their planes and logos to be unique but recognizable, with unique color scenes and simplistic different logos. the airlines paint scheme is at the forefront of an airlines marketing and they dont do anything with them.
>>
>>1319832
oddly its LCC's who seem to really go all out with fun colour schemes. next time VH-VGF is in WLG I'll snap a photo of it for this thread, but I dont wanna waste precious image posts on non-thread related content showing it now.
>>
>>1319832
Everyone is doing it. Aer Lingus had a great scheme until they came in this January and introduced the stupid fucking "eurowhite" bullshit.
>>
>>1316968
That would make sense being a composite and all. Still, they should have at least left the pre-787 models in the polished aluminium, but with the new tail logo and large script on the side.
>>
>>1320781
i guess airlines are just dumb. a lot of problems airlines face are self imposed problems (JAL and UA being prime examples)
>>
>>1320783
what makes no sense to me is the logo change. the AA was instantly recognizable and easily gotten into memory, while also being very simplistic. same with UA's tulip. they hit all the checkmarks of a good logo design, but they ditched them for complex and forgettable messes of design. the first time i saw AA's new logo i thought it was made by the post office (and i still think USPS could win a lawsuit over it) and the new united logo reminds me of continental, and we all know how much of a cluster fuck they were towards the latter 15 years of their existence.
>>
>>1320790
Yeah I was pretty pissed at the logo change, too. Growing up in DFW really cemented the love of AA and Southwest.

> and we all know how much of a cluster fuck they were towards the latter 15 years of their existence.

Why do you say that? I used Continental for the first 8 of those 15 last years when I lived in Houston and I always thought they were fine. I was actually pissed to learn that United's management team was the one to take the reins in the merger and the fact that the United name lived on and not Continental's.
>>
>>1320814
i guess we had different experiences. everyone i talked to said they were mediocre at best, plus a friend of mine knew a lot about the internals of continental and they said it was a shitshow for the employees.

but thats off topic.
>>
>>1320790
The United logo looks almost the same as the Copa logo.
>>
>>1320898

I'm still amazed that AA sends the 777 from Miami to Milan
>>
>>1320814
there was another entry in the early stages of choosing the design which i was pretty certain they were gonna go with. it kept the logo but modernized the livery in a pretty good way imho. just a few changes and it would have been perfect. then they went with the livery we have now and i have no clue as to why.

this is the one.
while not perfect, the general consensus ive seen is that it was better than what we got.
>>
>>1323873

looks like a generic third world flag carrier

they kept the spirit of the classic AA logo and that's good enough for me

BA 747-400 at MIA.
Also do any MIA anons know if there is another passenger 747 operator at MIA? Because I think after 2021 or 2024 when BA either makes the switch or retires the entire fleet I dont think MIA will ever see a 747 on the regular again outside of cargo
>>
>>1328869
Lufthansa could maybe use their 747-8's in some seasonal capacity there. Cathay, Air China and Korean will certainly never will.
>>
>>1328869
god i dont even want to think about that.

it hurt a lot when my airport lost its 747 services.

they should just redesign it around plain carbon
although carbon doesn't look great from a distance

slot restricted airports still give jumbos a small niche, but its unclear if that will last.
