Can we talk about marketing for a minute? I don't read Ebony or Jet but I'm willing to bet Specialized and Trek advertise in those magazines because literally every single middle aged black roadie seems to be riding those two brands and those two brands exclusively. Or whatever magazine the blacks read. To be honest I'm not exactly sure.

Meanwhile white women seem to be all over Pinarello for some reason, so that minor social media drama doesn't seem to have hurt them in any way.

What's going on here? Is this like the Subaru and lesbians thing, where they know exactly how to dog whistle to those groups so that nobody else notices the message?

Pic unrelated, all I can find on google image search is black pro team cyclists and those guys will ride whatever they're paid to ride.

>hey lets turn everything into a race issue!
Go back to your containment board: >>>/pol/ or >>>/b/
>>
>>1314895
>acknowledging race makes me uncomfortable so you should pretend to be white so I don’t get triggered and start spouting racist garbage
Or, how about this: maybe learn to talk about adult issues with respect and you won’t need to worry so much? I understand your parents filled your soul with hate but society has no obligation to bend over backwards just to accommodate your specific childhood issues
>>
>>1314881
Imagine being this delusional
>>
There's a tiny bit of cross marketing with Trek and Hennesy.

https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/majortaylor/

But it's not surprising that the big 3 would be well represented with the roadies. A couple of the NBC members are associated with trek and specialized dealers for their club discounts.

The number of women on pinarellos is pretty close to a rounding error in the industry. Oprah has a bigger impact.
>>
>>1314881
maybe Trek and Spesh are the brands carried by a black-owned LBS in your area? or the LBSes in the black neighborhoods?
I mean, I'm assuming your experience is limited to where you live unless you travel to all the large urban areas in the US and trainspot bikes all day.
>>
>>1314881
I never noticed like that, I got a specialised and my wife has a Trek and we're both black.

We are in the UK though, we bought in one of the biggest shops here (Evans Cycles) and they carry a lot of specialised and Trek, so I don't think it's.a race thing. Those 2 are probably the most common on the streets for lower end bikes.
>>
>>1314897
I’m not sure you know what respect is and I don’t think you should come to 4chan looking for it.

Also pretty much every pro racer uses what their sponsor demands. I don’t know why you go out of your way to single out black professionals.

It’s considerably more likely this has to do with your local bike shops, how they appeal to customers and the cliques that tend to patron them.
>>
>>1314948
>>1314952
It’s probably one of these. Historically cycling was a very white Eurosport, stormies unironically fetishize bicycles. I would say any marginalized population would tend to stay very mainstream, stay very local, or go to a shop that is particularly welcoming.

Snobby boutique shops that serve a wide area with their niche brand tend to be none of these.
>>
>>1314956
One more thing, I get the feeling that blacks tend to more strongly identify as American and are more patriotic than whites who have a tendency to fetishize European luxury goods like Campagnolo and Italian brands, and historically white dominated European pro cycling. The truth is whites tend to have dual loyalties to an international white race and their nation state, and white nationalism is the idea that one race should rule over various states instead of one state ruling over various races. Blacks have a loyalty to their race but usually within the context of their nation state. First world black separatism, black nationalism, and black internationalism are pretty much dead with integrationalist MLK being the poster boy of black civil rights.
>>
Where I live I rarely see specialized or trek, I see a lof of cannondale, giant, sometimes scott, and many orbeas (where I live is where the brand started so it's a classic brand here).

Middle aged men here doesn't ride too fancy bikes to be honest, they ride mid tier bikes with 105-carbon frame. And grampas (a bunch of 70+ yo dudes ride here) usually ride bikes from early 2000.
>>
>>1314948
Yeah, this explanation makes a lot of sense. Now that you mention it, the black areas are more working class and their selection of higher end bikes is boring, to say the least. I only see the weird stuff in the super white yuppie areas. I live in a mixed neighborhood and there's like 3 high end road frames hanging on the wall, a lot of touring bikes, and a bunch of boring commuter/MTB type setups.

>>1314953
Please hide the thread if you can't handle someone saying "black" without getting triggered. Other races aren't going to stop existing just to please you.

>>1314964
This also makes sense, same reason why the black dudes on the train seem to lean ultra-trad (reppe ties, button downs, solid BB/J Press single vent sack suits) whereas the white guys seem more interested in chasing trends (currently seeing a lot of peak lapels, pinstripes, and double vents)

>>1314973
Yeah I'm talking more high end stuff, mid to low tier is all over the place as you might expect. Younger poorer black guys seem to like the SE crap, dutch bikes, and sketchy Chinese fatbikes with motors on them. Younger poorer whites and azns still love their fixies and their lugged OTS. Latinos are rarely on bikes and when they are they seem to be BSOs. And then there's the white boomer couples in the hi-viz vests on their official AARP-issued Trek FXes with the dork disk and warning labels still attached.

Being candid about race is not the same thing as being respectful. You are hiding behind bullshit justifications for your behavior with some sort of pseudo civil smuggie attitude. You could have just made a reddit accusation and left it at that. You oblivious self righteous low IQ the_donald immigrants are the worst. The /pol/ accusation anon made was also legitimate because you unironically think in these terms rather than just being irreverent. You try to justify, rationalize, create false binaries and so on.
>>
>>1314989
Everything about your post is just ick. Once again, I invite you to stop posting. But you won't, because you trolls turn everything you touch into shit.
>>
>>1314991
Calling things ick and accusing people of being trolls, you truly are reddit.
>>
>>1314993
I've got over 100000 karma on reddit and multiple platinums, and I've never read the word ick there.
>>
>>1314919
Forgot my image, as the NBC is not particularly well known. It's really not that complicated anons. Club riders and the people who draft them set the tempo for much of the surrounding roadies. The black community isn't really all that different.

>>1314952
Race in England and europe is heavily divorced from the way race in america works. I wouldn't read too much in either direction.
>>
>>1314979
About high end stuff, I have seen pinarellos and maybe bianchy but only riden by 37-40 yo fit guys. But I noticed that I rarely see a Willier bike, but when I do, they always riden by 60+ yo dudes and they are not basic models, probably bikes on the 3000-4000 euro range.

>adult issues
LOL that's hilarious coming from a racist bigot.
There is *no such thing as 'race'*. We're all the same species.
There's no reason to bring this fallacious 'race' thing into this discussion except as a dog whistle to other racist bigots to come in here perpetuate the entire fallacious concept of '''race'''.
Therefore this thread violates site rules against posting racism outside of /b/.
If you want to be a racist fucktard then go back to >>>/b/ or maybe >>>/pol/, which is your obvious containment board. GTFO of /n/ unless you can learn to behave.

there are subspecies within a species. there are populations within a subspecies. the term race is not used to describe anything in nature. at least not by biologists.
