>>
>>88310544
Press V on your keyboard to increase the velocity (by 20 I think) and C to reduce it.
Alternatively, ALT-drag a note up and down (or just use the vertical lines on the bottom bar) to alter its velocity to a specific value, and all the notes you'll make after that will have that velocity.

So I finally bit the bullet and bought a guitar synth + guitar that has a midi pickup, not even knowing if this would work.
It came in this morning.

>>
>>88312856
Look into the graph tech piezo system, pair that with a roland GR-55 and you have it retrofitted to any electric for about $1000, its descrete, and you dont need to lose your pickups
Midi guitars were a thing since the 80s, but holy fuck, sometime in the last 5 or so years, like every problem that made them suck has been worked out.
Plus now I can just load up ANY guitar tone, from acoustic, nylon, bass guitar, etc. And it has midi out
Bruh, if I really wanted to, I could turn probably my house lights on with a DMaj7 Chord

Or at least have the lights change in sync on stage ;)
>>

https://instaud.io/3Nwc

I wanted to record guitar over it, but my interface isn't cooperating. I can only get it to record on fresh new tracks and don't know how to get it to record in a WIP.
>>

>I can only get it to record on fresh new tracks
read the manual about what all the buttons on the top do bro

why direct x when you have an interface lol
>>
>>88313052
>record guitar
>186ms latency
this is the same amount of time it would take to ping a server in Australia, and I'm in New Jersey
Even if you get it to work, the delay between when you play and when you hear what you are recording will be like 1.5 seconds
>>
>>88313191
>will be like 1.5 seconds
Why would it be almost 8x the latency?
>>
>>88313236
I can't play reliably at anything above 11ms input latency, I can't even create 186ms latency to test, but if the goal is to record guitar, it will be irrelevant how long it actually is

Very nice, liked the liquidy theme of it. Would definitely listen to this on my own time. For the bass synth that gets introduced after the intro, I'd mess with EQ and some filters. It feels a little anticlimactic. Maybe have it pan left and right on the notes that hang occasionally.

It happens to me too. When I'm away from producing, I feel better, because being shit at it and having never achieved anything irl in that area impacts my self esteem.

I think some product shillers are tactically posting there. I always wait for a 2 weeks before doing a purchase on equipment or any other stuff, and if I still want it after that 2 week period: I probably get it

Worst thing is you get some money to spend and start to browse gearslutz for reviews etc... the people there are also never satisfied, even though some do admit that its down to your mixing/mastering making the songs sound good, equipment/software will not save you in the end.

>>
>>88320425
More often than not it takes a single post to derail the entire thread into some reddit existential philosophy debate or 'you take two oscillators and detune them then what 2.0'. It also goes on my nerves how some of the people there say modern music is no good and then post baby's first psytrance and berlin school made on a damn waldorf quantum or something like that with a badge of five to ten years of experience they actually don't have. Moreover I recently saw a thread about some girl on 10 minutes against the clock by fact magazine who absolutely screwed up which was an incentive for some really ugly leftist opinions to show up about how all music is equal, it's all about fun and garbage like that. Like you said there's also the typical whalers that you see in absolutely every thread like evildragon, zerocrossing (the rick and morty dude), that xanders guy with the blue hair that always talks about his depression and shills his shit at the same time, don solaris who posts some condescending bullshit etc. The only really good poster I've seen there is NawSon. He's a bit of a jaded boomer in relation to modern music and never posts his music but he always hits the nail on the head when people try to bullshit him. EvilDragon has been called out as an arturia shill numerous times if I remember correctly. It's also bizarre to me how easily people there get baited into buying another synth or gadget time and time again only to see it get praised and then sold later on to get replaced by the next cool thing.
>>
>>88321613
>people have dumb opinions about things they don't know about
It's normal.
I'm sure you have equally uninformed opinions on things that you deal with but aren't knowledgeable about.

Except this:
>always think artists who they dont like it use it for no reason other than no real actual criticisms.
This is unacceptable and you should say away from anyone who thinks/acts like this.

What's a good distortion pedal to go with my drum machine? Something that will give it a bit more oomph and pump up the low end (though pumping up the mids and highs would be good too). The Elektron Heat looks interesting but seems pretty expensive for what it is.

For moar distortion I've used a Boss HM-2 (Heavy Metal) in the past, it has enough tone control to be useful. Metal Zone might work even if they're pure comedy for guitars in unmodded form.

Omnisphere can be annoying to crack. The torrent should come with instructions, usually a .nfo file that you can open with notepad/text edit

I'm on Windows but generally the process is like this:

1. install all discs of omnisphere
2. update the libraries with the provided updater
3. replace plugin/system files with the provided cracked files, or use the provided crack/keygen.exe to manually crack your plugin files
4. use the keygen to generate codes, put them into omnisphere

If your torrent doesn't have instructions or doesn't have the necessary cracks/patches, find another. Last one that worked for me was R2R. If you've already got the steam libraries installed, all you need is the shit from steps 2 through 4

Gear related question I am too stupid to find answer for. Help a brainlet out....

I am buying a pair of decent headphones (or somewhat high end), either Sennheiser Hd650 or hd600

My current setup, as in picture, is Laptop -> Dac -> Studio Monitors (Presonus Eris E3.5)

Now I have been using headphones that have impendance 2x32ohms. (They came with the speakers when I bought them)

These Sennheiser 650 have impendance of Impedance 300 Ohm.

Do I need an external headphone amplifier to get most out of those 300 ohm headphones? My DAC has no headphone output, the only way I can plug the HD650s headphones is is through my studio monitors headphone output ( https://www.presonus.com/products/Eris-E35/tech-specs )
I don't want to plug them in straight to my laptop either for obvious reasons...

Can I purhcase those HD650s or do I need to purchase some equipment?

How do you cope with the fact that if you didn't release anything serious (aka make it, even just a little) before you're 30, all your efforts would have been useless and that you'll have to let it go if you have self respect.
Is there another "scene" where you're done if you're not young enough?

>>
>>88338994
Sure, you can find late bloomers here and there, but usually, they were in the music scene since their teens

If you didn't make anything good by 30, it probably means you just don't have it in you and you wasted a lot of time chasing something you will never have.
Obviously, I'm not even talking of becoming a popstar (that's a lame ambition), but just a musician who's somewhat respected.
I'm telling you, musicians picked a cruel hobby. If you're not discouraged by the industry, then it will be your body who will let you down (your ears will probably be fucked by the time you're 40).

>>88339912
Even for many acts people likes, music is still a hobby. If you get into it for anything else than the music, it's quite unhealthy. But on the other hand, validation is important, and most of us will never know it.
It's as if you're training for a marathon, but eventually, you can't go out and participate to the contest because it's denied to you.

Where do you cum?
Do you let it drip on the floor or you lay on your back to shoot on your big belly?

check the comments for a serial code, it worked for me without having to use the keygen, also I realized that every serum keygen seems to have this problem not just this one
>>
>>88345981
The keygen isn't really the problem (you could always just run it in a VM and use the code on your normal OS).
The problem is that ANYTHING you download from an untrusted source has a risk of infecting you.
This includes the actual installer.
How do you know that the installer is clean?
There's no hash to check against, so if you're suspecting the keygen you should also suspect the installer.

How do I get over the fact that I can't produce for shit? I've been a 'producer' for like 9 years but I'm the type of dude that stays in his hometown and does nothing to help with the community.

I can't get over the fact that I'm a useless pile of shit that can't make good sounds. I only have experience with fucking Wasp. Fucking hell I want to go to school for audio engineering but I don't even understand fully how Saturation works. Seems like fucking everyone is sweeping past me at super high speeds while I'm just here minding my own business doing nothing to improve my sound

>sync samples
What do you mean?
>>
>>88346143
I have experience with a lot of things. I shouldn't have said I only have experience with Wasp, the vst plugin FL Studio has

Go take an IQ test and use the certificate they give you to prove you're disabled and can't work, so you can get money from the government.
>>
>>88346211
Hahaha fuck you mate.
>>
>>88346234
Actually you can skip the IQ test altogether.
Just walk in the welfare office without saying anything and they'll give you the money.

If you don't get the joke Dimi, don't ask.

Surely they'll blow a couple thousand my way, and I'll surely be able to afford audio engineering school. I'd be a god within my own dwelling. Fantasy plan

sync a full song to the master's tempo. warping works well for more recent recordings, but for funk and older stuff, it's a shitshow.
>>
>>88346447
Yes.
You'll have to warp it manually.
Good luck.
>>
>>88346447
god damnit man go watch a tutorial instead of shitposting about it

you have to move the fucking warp markers, you can't just expect it to know the bpm and have 100% accurate transient detection on non-pristine recordings
