I just became a backing musician for an industry plant.
I will not say the industry plant's name only to protect my anonymity.
It depresses me greatly because I've just now realized that practically all music signed to a label is literally completely dependent on commercialism. There's no challenge in playing this music either.
I may kill myself soon because this is really one of the only ways to make some real money as a musician, and it's degrading.

>AMA
what does the surname of the label owner end in?

is it berg or stein or itz by anychance?

are you the real adam neely??!!!!!
>>
>>86491723
yeah studio recording is almost completely dead these days, live performance is where it's at
>>

How's that third eye

>>86491925
Don't forget -man
>>
>Wanting to be a musician ever....
>>
>>86491925
It actually does end in -stein. Good guesses.
>>86491951
Shut up. It's a reaction image.
>>86491959
Even the past live performances they've shown me for this artist are lackluster. The songwriter doesn't even have talent.
>>86491964
Third eye? Are you implying I just got woke or something?
>>86491972
Well fuck me then.

I don't mean the plant, I mean you. The way forward for good musicians is live performance.

How's the pay?
Do you do studio sessions? If so, do you get to contribute anything to writing?
>>
>>86492300
It's five figures annually.
Yes, I'm going to be with them in the studio as well as live performances. No, not even the artist does their own writing. There's a dedicated songwriter.

You're all just flesh-and-blood Mikus.
>>
The real way to enjoy making music is to not share it with anyone, fuck you niggers you dont deserve my stuff
>>
How common are industry plants?
>>
>>86491723
How do people even become industry plants to begin with?
>>
>>86491723
Use your position to build social connections and contacts with industry people so you can shill your own project.
>>
>>86492855
Not OP but, it depends, there are sevral routes, but the basic way you see happening the most right now is just pure nepotism. Having family connections in the media industry and enough money to pay for initial marketing to get yourself off the ground.

What instrument do you play?
Do you get to play important parts?
