Finally got to see Saraba the Final Countdown, aka the last Den-O movie/story to feature Ryotaro Nogami. I'm going to miss him, and since this was the intended stopping point for Den-O, I've enjoyed this series thus far.

I also think that Shiro should have been used as the main series villain instead of Kai. The Ghost Imajin was more interesting than the Death Imajin, and that motherfucking Ghost Train could have been a cool vehicle to combat Den-O. Hell, even Shiro's motive, of wanting to bring back his dead lover, could have been the perfect parallel and juxtaposition to Yuuto, who wanted to protect the future and his yet-to-be-born daughter That said, Den-O was also more of an episodic comedy toku than a straight drama, so, I loved it. I think Drive did it better but, then again, time-travel was not as integral to Drive as it was to Den-O. Next time, I might have to watch both Den-O and Drive together

1. First this is the wrong thread to ask Kamen Rider series specific Questions. 90% of the people here haven't seen Blade or Faiz. At most they have only seen handful of the recent series. Or they might have seen 1 older Heisei show, but not all 3. You're better off going to Rider specific forums for discussion where actual experts are available for discussing topics. This thread is mostly for casuals.

>>17701887
>Accel is equal to Kabuto clock up.
For only 10 seconds. And in the Decade cross-over, Kabuto's clock up was even better than other clock up users. I would still choose Kabuto over Faiz Accel.

>>
>>17701887
From where are you even pulling that? Blade Mach was a generic speed effect, while Clock Up is so fast the world slow downs around the user and Accel is so fast the user can appear to be in multiple places at once (the movie Rider Kick). Blade never showed anything comparable.

Which riders had the most overpowered form pre-movie / final episode nerfs?

At the moment off the top of my head:
Hyper Kabuto (Can move so fast he goes back in time to redo everything, even retcons don't prevent Tendou from simply just willing the Hyper Zector back into his possession)
Ex-AID Muteki: (Invulnerable to everything apart from retconning)
Gaim (Became God)

Grand Zi-O (Can rewind time, potentially destroy space/time, summon any of the other riders to fight alongside him and utilize any of their abilities in theory, if only the writers let him)
Decade Complete (Everything and All of the above if he really wanted to except writers also won't let him)

Out of all of them ignoring the two anniversary riders I still feel like Hyper Kabuto is the most overpowered and broken of them all, of course that is if we ignore the final battle where the form is inexplicably nerfed.
>>
>>17701972
I guess Cronus deserves to be on the list but he has the weakness of "Susceptible to anyone with a higher bullshit factor than him".
>>
>>17701909
>And in the Decade cross-over, Kabuto's clock up was even better than other clock up users.
You mean the AR Kabuto that became one with the "Speed Force"?
>>
>>17701934
>Blade Mach was a generic speed effect, while Clock Up is so fast the world slow downs around the user
Except for the times they showed it from the outside perspective and it was a "generic speed effect".
>>
>>17701989

Clock Up from an outside view is at least a blur, sometimes even basically invisible. Blade's speed is just a fast forward. Like I pointed out above, it's closer Diend's speed power than anything else, and Clock Up trashed Diend's speed.
>>
>>17701972
>>Hyper Kabuto (Can move so fast he goes back in time to redo everything, even retcons don't prevent Tendou from simply just willing the Hyper Zector back into his possession)

this was part of my problem with Kabuto and why I couldn't get into it. He's too powerful. Riders are, for the most part, pretty equal in terms of power. You put any two riders together and, ignoring experience and bullshit stats, they'd be a pretty even fight. Not Kabuto. Kabuto has one of the strongest abilities period and is probably one of the strongest riders in his base form, he'[d be able to compete with most final forms just because of how obscenely fast he is. That could work in a superman way if Tendo had to learn how to control it, but he doesn't. Tendo is perfect, and without any struggle I just couldn't care about him. Kagami's out right pathetic and I couldn't care less about ZECT. Knowing they brought time travel into it later just soured me further.

They're all exactly the same speed. Every time there's a crossover where all the speedsters fight, they're all exactly the same speed. The only exception there's ever been is when Caucasus used Hyper Clock Up and it was like he was in Clock Up to people already in Clock Up. Kabuto's Hyper Clock Up wasn't shown to work like that, though, he used it to time travel instead.

He only used to time travel thrice (twice in the movie, once in the tv series) all other times it was used in the tv show it worked like that. See Dark Kabuto vs Hyper Kabuto for example.

We also got standard Clock Up beating Diend's speed in Decade, although I think that one and Geiz Shippu > Woz Shinobi are the only times we got a crossover showing a speed ability as superior to another. Every other time they were just matched (Clock Up vs Accel in Decade and GP, Accel vs Mach's speed finisher in GP, Geiz Shippu and Woz Shinobi facing Clock Up worms and Riders).

So this is either A:. Saying Zi-O's consistent continuity errors not excused by the time changes in it's plot are because it's an AR world separate from the long-standing main timeline.
Or B, it's re-asserting the multiverse retcons Decade's series was literally made to undo.
As a reminder, Showa series? Always one timeline. The separate rider world's thing began as Shirakura's excuse beginning with Agito to explain why Agito had continuity errors with the Kuuga content it built itself on. Toei hated it. Decade ended the separate worlds stuff. W through Ex-Aid thus always, near-consistently operated as one long consistent world, with the only screwups with that being content that involved the same group of idiots which were quickly declared noncanon. Even Build ended by it merging itself into the main timeline.
And that's not me, Build's producer is the one that said and confirmed that happened. So once again, As I said a year ago, Zi-O as a series is one that spits on the Goodwill the franchise spent the last decade building.
It's almost as if the show was predictable or something from the precedented actions of it's staff and their common nonsense that they keep redoing.
I keep saying that, and it keeps being proven true.
>>
Decade V-Cinema when?
>>
>>17702213
That's the illusion of things happening. It's more episodic than people think (which isn't a bad thing), and the plot doesn't actually start pushing forward until Another Agito pops in to kick their rears into gear. But you could have Souichi learn everything about the Yacht and then have him immediately forget everything cause we've gotta stretch this for a whole year. You can argue the audience is supposed to figure things out while the characters are in the dark only to barely learn anything until the final arc.

>Or B, it's re-asserting the multiverse retcons Decade's series was literally made to undo.
It actually never did that. All worlds are separated again at the end of Movie Wars 2010. Still, Decade never really into the original worlds so it could go either way, but all crossovers afterwards seemed to treat them all as part of the same world, yes.

>As I said a year ago, Zi-O as a series is one that spits on the Goodwill the franchise spent the last decade building.

Not quite. the worlds were already fusing sometime before the start of Zi-O, not just when Sogo gets the Watches, since he meets many Riders before the Watches are made, so it doesn't directly contradict the previous crossovers either. This IS just Shirakura once again imposing his view of all Rider series being separate, something he talk about on twitter, and shows his disregard for what people did with the franchise in the last 10 years.

I liked Foundation X when they were first introduced. And I liked the idea that they'd go on to be a new Shocker, even if for only a few seasons. I liked them as a villain group in W and was kind of expecting minimal involvement in future series while not completely overtaking the plot (Maybe they were funding Maki or had shares in CakeBoss Company. Maybe they'd make an artificial Greeed that'd be around for a few episodes). But I guess producers didn't want to mess with the stories too much. I just wish there was a satisfying conclusion to them at least instead of a group that's shoehorned in to be behind evil plots over and over and over.

>At the end, we put it (Build) back in the world of Ex-Aid and the others, but we were shocked when we learned that Zi-O would deal with parallel worlds again! (laughs)

>Then New World establishes that Kamen Riders don't exist.
If we go by Heisei Generations Forever, when Sento talks about "Rider System" or even "Kamen Rider" he's generally talking about the stuff from his own world specifically. For example, he gives a speech in Forever about how the Riders shouldn't exist after the worlds were fused, but Banjo is still there due to being an idiot, which only makes sense even in the context of the movie if he is only referencing the Riders of his own world (this is after meeting Zi-O and learning about the other Riders in the movie itself).

Who though? Because hardly anyone, no matter how badly they fuck up the plot, gets kicked off this series. I've never heard of anyone's head rolling for Hibiki's second half and that had Inoue and Shirakura in the gears. I'd certainly love to know who actually took the brunt of that fiasco.
>>
>>17702813

He's presumably talking about Takebe, who has been reduced to a secondary producer, although that was more due to her failures with Sentai (which is kind of weird since she produced both OOO and Gaim, which were very successful for Rider (aside from the Gaim summer movie, which bombed), then was kicked to the side due to Go-Busters and Ninninger failing, rather than just returning to Rider as a main producer again. She was a secondary producer for Amazons and Zi-O).
>>
>>17702813
>I've never heard of anyone's head rolling for Hibiki's second half and that had Inoue and Shirakura in the gears.

Hibiki's second half actually had higher ratings than the first half, and fixed the production costs issue of the first half too. There's no reason they'd be punished for it, even if fans disliked it. Takatera, Hibiki's original producer, was the one punished and removed from the franchise in the first place for going over budget and the show doing badly on top of that in both ratings (although they were slowly climbing, they were still much lower than Kuuga->Faiz) and toy sales.

They broke the Super Climax wings doing stunt work for the movies. Toei doesn't want to pay to fix it. So they are forced to use Liner form from now on.

So yes you are correct that Super Climax is the strongest and final form of Den O. However, the suit is broken in real life, so we are stuck with the weaker Liner form. We just have to pretend its the final form for now.

That's just Sougo getting good and learning to mask his movements to trick an opponent with super-speed who could otherwise react to his changes in actions.

Kiva easily had one of the most accurate tribute arcs. It was horrible, but it was fucking great. Fourze had a weak arc, but Fourze Armor got the most use of any of the armors. W had basically nothing for most of the show, but then we got Eternal and that was pretty great. It's probably still W overall, but honestly, I'm satisfied with the tributes as a whole. They were a damn sight better than Decade's, that's for sure, arguably even better than Gokaiger's because more than one past Rider got to actually fight again.
>>

01 is loaded with gimmicks. Armor that opens up to attach additional parts, including a whole fucking giant robot suit. A Driver that can scan up to six more keys to power up the finisher to bigger and bigger levels. A super form that's definitely going to obsolete all of those basic armors by the end of Q1, and then a super duper form that involves enhancing one of the keys with a part from another key. All of that in Q1, before we get to shit like the belt extension that's coming sometime in Q2 or Q3.
>>
>>17703328
I don't see why people care kuga was different due to the gap between shows kamen rider has change organically since kuga 01 is going to feel like build if any thing

>>
>>17703231

this is basically toy companies admitting that they don't mind toyetic designs for regular mid season rider shows but don't want them as symbols for eras. thats why they mega simplified Zero Ones design and made it sleek. But the next Season will be back to toyetic designs.

You will never see Kamen Rider Drive or Kamen Rider Build or Gaim be the symbol for Kamen Rider.
>>
................Why is Black RX considered Showa? Black RX, Kamen Rider J, ZO, and Shin were all Heisei Rider era shows. Black RX was first Heisei. I was banging my head when I watched Showa vs Heisei.

>>17703380
Japan would be embarassed if Ex-Aid and Muteki was the symbol for Heisei or Reiwa.

>>
>>17703384

>>
>>17703384
Bandai wanted a clear distinction drawn in the line when the TV series finally came back. For some reason they decided to use a term that already had an existing association.
Ultraman just had this happen too, but they group TV series released after the hiatus as "New Generation" rather than stretching the definition of an existing term.
>>
>>17703384
Because it's not about real life calendar eras. Its about what Toei and the Toy company sponsors say it is. And they say everything pre-Kuuga is considered "showa" and everything Kuuga to Zi-O is considered "heisei". Even though it doesn't make any freaking sense.

I'd watch the movies at their release dates. The anniversary episodes have a very minor plot point in them, but a plot point nonetheless, so watch them just like any other episodes.

>>17703523
He's around. A lot of people here overstate his importance, though: he showed up early in the show to beat up Zi-O and Geiz for a bit, including making them lose the fake Ghost watch so they'd have to go get the real one, gave them his own Ridewatch, and sent Sougo to meet Oma Zi-O so he'd actually start taking it seriously. After that he disappeared for most of the middle half of the show, only showing up in the Geiz Revive and Kabuto storylines to ferry Tsukuyomi around and show her plot points she wouldn't have had any reason to see otherwise. Now that we're at the end, he got tricked into letting Swartz steal his powers and become Another Decade, but it turned out Tsukasa already stashed half his powers in the Ridewatch he gave Sougo, so Swartz only got the other half. Now he's talking about needing to destroy Zi-O's world because shit's completely fucked after all the Ridewatches broke, letting all the monsters out, and now about twenty apocalypses are happening at the same time.

I was gonna post this, but it looked like they just wanted to talk about belts.
>>
>>17703536
You're all conflating suits with belts. Build and Zero-One are both pretty simplistic suits, with only two colors each and a minimal amount of bulk or extraneous details. Compare to how flashy and intricate a suit like Wizard, Ex-Aid, or Kiva is. On the other hand, Build and Zero-One both have very toyetic belts, with Zero-One's belt arguably being even more toyetic than Build's since it has collectibles with their own electronics and a transformation gimmick between card and key, where the Build Driver has bottles that you can shake for a clicky sound, but otherwise only has the bottle insertion and handle as points of interaction.

>>17703544
That's one paragraph describing everything he's done. He's been in something like six or seven episodes total, which is not a lot of screentime all told. He's more important than the other past Riders, who usually only appear in two episodes, but he's not constantly around or even around all that often until the end.
>>
>>17703555
Wait, whats even going on, are you saying some of these toys are less toys than these other toys?
>>
>>17703555
>Compare to how flashy and intricate a suit like Wizard
Excuse me, no. Build's suit is far more toyetic than fucking Wizard. Wizard Flame Style lends itself so little to action figure gimmickry that all they could come up with was making his god damn face light up. Silver trim and magic circles decorating his costume aren't any more complex than the spring leg, tread foot, ear/cannon scarf, and cartoon eyes.
>>
>>17703555
>That's one paragraph describing everything he's done.
Mofo, just because you threw up your word spaghetti without hitting enter button doesn't mean you get to call it "one paragraph". It doesn't qualify as one. >including making them lose the fake Ghost watch
Well it's real, it's just the one that Oma Zi-O had and Geiz stole.
But that makes me wonder, if Sougo not having gotten the Drive watch was making his final form imperfect, why didn't Oma Zi-O having his Ghost watch broken not cause him to weaken too?
>>
>>17703590
It might have, but Oma didn't summon Ghost during the fight. Sougo made the mistake of summoning Drive.

Nearly the same name? I don't understand how you are functioning with English, if you think those 2 words are nearly the same.

They are not phonetically ultra-similar. Zi-O isn't pronounced "Zeo". Even if it was pronounced that way(which it isn't), by the time you make it passed the first syllable, all of the "confusion" that you are suggesting would be gone. They don't even rhyme, have the same prefix, not homonyms, or anything other oddity in the English language.

You are the one making this into a bigger issue than it needs to be. You literally said so yourself. You are aware of the correct way to say Zi-O, but then say it wrong by choice. You are the one turning this into something that it's not, by being obtuse.

Movie Wars Core was meant to foreshadow later developments in OOO but they changed the direction of the series so it fails quite badly at that. Basically, the only element they kept was dino yummies being created out of objects and Goto eventually being Birth. Everything else was wrong, from character points (like Eiji being meant to take various part-time jobs) to plot points (the whole Gill Dino Greeed scene).

Movie Wars Core debuted right after Sagohzo in the show, but timeline-wise most of it was meant to take place much later, around the 30s (Eiji even carries around all medals in the movie in spite of the suit for the blue medals not being finished yet and so they're never used), they completely failed at that though, so tons of things don't match up. The W and crossover parts are actually referenced in other stuff though, which gets kind of odd.

At the end of the anniversary episodes there's a big message telling you to watch the OOO/Den-O movie, and it mostly works at that point aside from Eiji having the wrong medal count.

OOO Wonderful can't fit at any specific point of the show either, but the backstory revealed there is actually referenced in the tv show's final episodes, including a brief clip of the movie exclusive orange medals. Eiji also uses them in Ultimatum.

And then there's Megamax which is post-series and actually fits with the show.

Reluctant as I am to get involved here, I'm not aware of anything official implying a pronunciation of 'Zee-Oh'.

'Tough' is only ever pronounced like 'enough' and 'though' is only ever pronounced like 'woe'.
Same spelling of '-ough', different pronunciations - context is key.
By the same token, I'll likely always pronounce Zi-O as 'Jee-Oh' as that's the only way it's ever officially pronounced.

I switched to the JP pronunciation of ZX when I found out that's how they say it (and I like the way it sounds). However, I often find myself disagreeing with my own 'rule' and saying 'Cross-Z' as it reads because, well, the in-show pronunciation is (in my opinion) an absolutely terrible name.

So, in answer to your question, no, words will always end up getting anglicised - I'd just say it's a preference thing and wouldn't necessarily accuse either camp of being 'wrong'.
