>>17569509Cute pic. I wish Sega was still in the console market. So, any opinions on Hardcore Mecha? I'm mostly curious on how the multiplayer is.
New Gundam Breaker just got cracked for anyone curious on how it plays.
>>17569584someone sure had a slow day
>>17569512>So, any opinions on Hardcore Mecha? I'm mostly curious on how the multiplayer is.Fast paced and each of mecha has it's own playstyle. For now, to use long ranged mecha need to know the map and plan ahead to be useful.Oh, and expect lag from time to time.
>>17569592>>17569584after playing a couple of mission I can see why game is shit>parts break so easily and you became Frankensteinbiggest problem, I wish there's a cheat or something>main mode 3 vs 3, is boring as fuckwho thought huge map = good gameplay? the fight takes place in the same point in the map anyway, I prefer the linear progression in old game. God I fucking wish we could emulate GB3.
>>17569729>main modeanon... It's the only mode. Whole game is nothing but this.Aside of what, 2 "boss" battles? One of which is fumina DLC.
>>17569736>only modeoh shit, I thought there's something else...
>>17569742Nope. Every single bit of singleplayer content, aside of one time fighting against mobile armor I think, is a 3 vs 3 battles.Including final boss.Only thing changes between girl routes - is girl which is in your party. There is always same selection of quests.I think they added some tiny map specially for grinding shit after release, but not too sure about it.
>>17569779atleast I could customize shit, Seaweed Gundam
>>17569871if you can stomach the grind or just get everything unlocked - yeah, it is good editor. Mostly cause it copypasted from GB3. Looks a bit better too.I was pleasantly surprised by it when I tried beta. Too bad about rest of the game.
>>17569779>I think they added some tiny map specially for grinding shit after release, but not too sure about it.They added a bunch of bonus missions purely for grinding parts when the game flopped as a half-hearted apology.t. schmuck who bought it
>>17570065>t. schmuck who bought itmy condolencesI instead right after beta ordered GB2 and it was worth it despite not being able to read shit in japanese.
>>17569584How poor are you that you can't buy a game on console that has dropped to $9 multiple times?
>>17570099>paying any money for a shitty game
>>17569635>chose Roundhammer on the map with the bottomless pit>managed to annihilate one guy before plummeting to my deathPretty fun. I hope they let us reconfigure the controls.
>>17570207Not that anon, but for same money I can get something better, and maybe even with robots too.And honestly - time is way more valuable in case of NGB.
>>17569509So i've only played a few minutes of both to see how they emulate but it Cyber Knight II just a remake of 1?
>>17570099anon Bandai forgot the game was on PC and didnt even bother making a discount of it right now in the biggest sale of the year. It's still 60 dollars.
Are the PS3 gundam games (sance Target in Sight) any good?
>>17570960Gundam Breaker 2 is great in my opinion. I'm currently playing through Gundam Side story & its decent. If you just want to button mash then Dynasty warriors Gundam is a good time sink & the only ones in English. I've never played Gundam Unicorn (PS3). If you go into stuff that has Gundam but is not a gundam game than SRW Z3 is fun but you'll need to know nip to get full enjoyyment. A.C.E. R is a trip that killed a good series so I'd avoid.
>>17570960I loved Dynasty Warriors Gundam games, 1st on however too clunky.
Hey /v/, I need a game where I scoot really fast and shoot lots of bullets.>>17569584Played the JP beta and it was somehow even worse than the pointless grinding in Gb1-3
Post your recommendations before the Steam Summer Sale ends.

>>17577855just don't buy Iron Rainseriously. It has good ideas but execution is shit even after patches. I seriously will say that Insect Armageddon is leaps and bounds head as a good solid videogame
>>17577855I'm so mad 5 hasn't come to PC yet.
>>17580385As someone with 265 hours in - it's great. And your anger is completely justified, cause missing all this fun is downright criminal
If you're looking for an inexpensive mecha fix that plays similarly to Virtual On or Custom Robo, I highly recommend checking out Garrison Archangel on steam. There's also a free demo you can try.Currently the small team is working on developing a single player experience as per community feedback. You can really feel their love of mecha in it.
Anyone here every play this? It’s a shitty mobile battle royal game with mechs on it.
>>17569509Shit, that reminds me, Metal Fatigue is on sale, you can get it for less than 2bux:https://store.steampowered.com/app/888040/Metal_Fatigue/
I really liked Blue Dragons robots.
and once again I'll inquireare there any /m/obages that are close to release?any news on SRW DD? will it ever be launched?
If you're looking for fresh Mech games, here's some lesser known titles you guys may enjoy that are on sale; most of which have gotten recent updates:>Hardcore Mecha ($16.99 usd)You guys already know about this one I'll bet, but it's worth mentioning still. It's a 2D platformer/ shoot em up. Sadly however a lot of the sizable cast is behind backer codes which you have to use to unlock new mechs and characters. That are only usable in multiplayer.https://store.steampowered.com/app/746580/HARDCORE_MECHA/>Project Nimbus ($14.99)A stylish high speed anime influenced mecha game with some minor elements of bullet hell. Very fast and frantic, but the lack of customization options is something of a downer. The game originally launched 5 years ago, but the devs still provide updates from time to time. Pic related.https://store.steampowered.com/app/257030/Project_Nimbus_Complete_Edition/>Garrison: Archangel ($11.99)Basically the spiritual successor to Custom Robo with quite a wide selection of customization options and tech to learn. It's an early access game and the online multiplayer is somewhat buggy and empty as a result regrettibly. The gameplay takes some getting used to, but it shines in duels once it clicks. The team is apparently working on a story mode. Also free demo (a bit outdated for what's in the game now).https://store.steampowered.com/app/682450/Garrison_Archangel/>War Tech Fighters ($9.99)A slightly more simplistic version of Project Nimbus in a way with a bit more focus on melee elements. Customization is sort of lacking, but for a grand scale mech warfare game with some great graphics, you could do a lot worse. Devs are still decently active as well with QOL updates.https://store.steampowered.com/app/630030/War_Tech_Fighters/
>>17584438>Damascus Gear Operation Tokyo ($7.49)A diablo-like mecha game with some decent customization to it and a passable story, though I think it may be a mobile port. Combat can be kind of repetitive as well; at it's core it's a pretty simple game despite its customization options.https://store.steampowered.com/app/648630/Damascus_Gear_Operation_Tokyo_HD/>Mecha Ace ($3.89)A text based adventure, game dev simulator /v/'s favorite. A somewhat limiar story with a few branches and a skill system, but your choices have more impact than mass effect at least. If you're a fan of old school text adventures it may be worth a lot. It's got a free demo as well and what looks to be a VR focused tie-in in development. https://store.steampowered.com/app/318330/Mecha_Ace/>KO Mech ($0.49)A simple platformer type game with the gimmick of flinging enemies into one another. Somewhat short, but pretty addictive, also made by someone who shitposts on /v/ and for half a buck it's worth selling a few cards and picking up. It'll keep you entertained for at least a few hours so it's a great cost to entertainment ratio at the sale price. Your character can be hard to see at times though. Pic related.https://store.steampowered.com/app/862770/KO_Mech/
I can't decide whether to buy Garrison Archangel or Code Hardcore. FUCK
>>17584587one's an early access title with a demo and a very clear budget and the other is a released game missing promised features with codes locking most mechs to vs mode only and who has been radio silent on criticism. think on it, there's plenty of time left.
>>17583981you summoned worldwide release of Gundam Breaker Online for mobiles in augustI hope you are happy
>>17583235Never even heard of it.
>>17584441>though I think it may be a mobile portPSP port, isn't it?
>>17584672>radio silent on criticismThey sent out an email explaining the situation to backers, actually. It's too long to paste in, so here's a steam topic that has it:https://steamcommunity.com/app/746580/discussions/0/1639789306563128935/
war robots is kinda fun for a mobile game
Are the Eureka Seven games any fun? At least two of them were released in English, but there's so little information on them.
>>17575524sucked hard. beat it recently. could have been good but was essentially a 6 level grind fest. op cutscene and start menu are kino however.
>>17585696Oh cool, hopefully they can deliver on that.
I just found out about this now defunct Square Enix mech mmo called Figureheads.how come I had never heard of this, it looked pretty good. anyone played it?
>>17589729Is it like playing Nirvash in ACE 3?
>no triple exp weekend on Hardcore Mechafor fuck sake, 200 exp won't do shit. Is it possible to cheat engine this crap?
>>17570960I hope you're not implying that Target in Sight isn't good.
>>17594146Gundam Crossfire? Think I played it at my friends house, was fun. With stuff like losing limbs and weapons like vulcans being useful.Only completed the Federation campaign, when I started the Zeon one after it was ridiculously dire with the starting Zeon mechs.
>>17594146It's very mediocore Crossfire-kun, but it's the only one on the PS3 I have played yet.
There's Metal Fatigue on Steam for not even 2 eurosIt's a 3 faction RTS with modular "gundam" units
>>17587562>having this shit taste
EDF is technically /m/, 5 is getting steam release in a few dayshttps://store.steampowered.com/app/1007040/EARTH_DEFENSE_FORCE_5/
>>17598736Nice, had no idea the port was coming out so soon. Definitely going to pick up and play the entire game solo like I did with EDF 4.1
>>17598755No one had, they announced it like half a hour ago.
>>17598736WHAT THE FUCK?
>>1759886911th of July
>>17598736Speaking of, today is the last day of summer sale to grab mecha games on the cheap.
>>17599429I have brigador and vulkaiserThat's all I need
>>17598736What gimmicks does this have over the previous games?
>>17599429Have Garrison already, will probably pick up Nimbus. Wish there where more heavy stomp western styled mechs games. Anime hyoerspeed stuff seems like the go to now for developers.>>17599443That's not a very high bar to set even if I do enjoy the camp they bring.
>>17584438>Project NimbusIt's worth pointing out that the Complete Edition is a complete remaster and much better than the original version. If someone skipped it before you can seriously reconsider it now.
Target Earth is great on the Sega Genesis.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eK_vHY6Kac
>>17584441>>17584438Geez, why do all these games have the most generic, boring mecha design imaginable? Zero character or styleI would design for them on the cheap just to not have to look at those same Not!Gundams one more time
How is Break Arts 2? I wonder if it will run on my old ass laptop.
I want a modern game to give the feeings I had when I first played Gungriffon IIDows such a game exist?
>>17600272A game will survive if you hire shitty art designers. The game will joy survive if you hire shitty programmers.Guess where all the funding goes?
>>17599973>That's not a very high bar to set even if I do enjoy the camp they bring.Well don't break what isn't broken.EDF works, since the first game. That's why it's still a thing despite starting as budget simple 2000 series. In 5 they improved almost all things, some will disagree on few moments, but overall it's better. And having your favorite game get better treatment but overall stay the true to it's roots - is actually what people always want. Not experimentation for sake of it.Iteration is not bad thing, it never was.
>>17584438>>17584441May as well "complete" my /v/ list here too:>Zone of the Enders the 2nd Runner: MARS ($14.99)Yes, ZoE is actually on Steam. It's a 4k port that offers a good blend of melee and ranged combat in a tight story driven chuuni package. Also has barebones VR support for a cockpit view. The game has general audio problems such as it totally dropping out at times and a bad english VO with no Japanese option. The controls can be a pain, but if you want a nostalgia trip it's decent. pic relatedhttps://store.steampowered.com/app/650510/ZONE_OF_THE_ENDERS_THE_2nd_RUNNER__MRS/>Brigador ($12.99)A hotline miami type affair of explosive violence and solid world building with mechs and other vehicles you use to blow up enemies and the environment to your advantage. The gameplay is good, but the lore is what makes it. Aiming can be a pain in the ass sometimes.https://store.steampowered.com/app/274500/Brigador_UpArmored_Edition/>The Astro Saga ($9.49)A collection of 5, yes FIVE shoot-em-ups and shoot-em-up platformer hybrids if you're looking for an arcade styled game fix this season. They're simple and quick if you want to pick something up and blitz through a game every now and then for fun. Overall a pretty nice deal, just be warned not all of them have controller support.https://store.steampowered.com/sub/85196/
>>175803852 days fucker!
>>17584438>>17584441>>17601319>Break Arts II ($8.99)If you wanted to mix robots and racing, then this is the game for you. Featuring some outstanding eurobeat like music and ultra high customization means you're in for a pretty unique and challenging experience. Just be forewarned that customization can be a bit overwhelming and you'll need to meticulously fine tune for the best results. Online is sort of dead sadly...https://store.steampowered.com/app/547360/BREAK_ARTS_II/>Into the Breach ($7.49)A turn based strategy game with a mech theme from the team that brought you FTL. Has some upgrade and customization options that can lead to interesting strategies. Protip: Don't mess up.https://store.steampowered.com/app/590380/Into_the_Breach/>Override Mech City Brawl ($7.49)If you've got some friends and loved the old Godzilla party brawlers this is one to look into; but you might have problems with finding players online. pic relatedhttps://store.steampowered.com/app/709440/Override_Mech_City_Brawl/Sale ends tonight though, but I'm betting almost all of you already knew about most of what I listed in the posts anyway.>>17600272Out of curiosity what's an interesting design to you then? Personally I think Garrison and Mech City Brawl do a decent job marrying multiple mecha styles together into a sort of unified look. Also gundam sells pretty well globally so it makes sense that general style is often replicated especially when you're the definitive face of the genre.

>>17601335I only played a bit of Break Arts II, but I can't say I like the racing part at all. Mech customization is involved enough that I don't regret the purchase, though. Hopefully the actual gameplay will grow on me.
>>17594146Man, I loved target in sight. You should also check out Gundam Battle Operation 2, it's a spiritual successor to it, with even more obscure one-year-war grunt suits and custom paint schemes, but unfortunately it's only online battles and has a gacha system. It's only on asain psn for now, but there's an option for english text in the menu and it'll even be getting an english release soon. Plus /m/ has a clan and regular threads for it.
I'm curious, what were the best PS2 gundam games?

The Ninja Warriors Once Again Launches on July 25https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c8x3jd2qoU
>>17619347>RiseThat's a good one, but I think No Way Out is better. Perfect music to blow shit up using an agrav.
>>17619361No way out is good. But I've always liked a new age or march betterhttps://youtu.be/JUNROUfqJr0https://youtu.be/QQ6ei2vnoe8You ever listen to the audiobook?

Is EDF 5 worth it without multiplayer?
>>17619553>MarchThat's one of my favorite tracks, you got good taste!>You ever listen to the audiobook?Nope.
>>17620551Yes, from about 271 hours I at least played solo for half of that if not more.EDF is perfectly fine for solo, ignore what other people tell you. If anything 5 is even more great for solo because Air Raider is now has tons of more options than before making it joy to play too.>>17620684Have at least tried to play solo? All games are pretty fun playing singleplayer, even if all of them had split screen before online became a thing.I recently beat EDF 2 and had a blast. So please, don't put EDF into category "it's not fun unless you are with friends" horrible games. It deserves better than that.
>>17569509if nobody has mentioned this game then I'd recommend it.
>>17620947It's pretty good.It follows a squad of loyalist mongoose pilots when the birgador contracts first came out on solo nobre.I got a link to it if you or anyone else wants it.

>The /m/ content that the player can control in the next Trails game may be little to none.I'm scared. The Divine Knight gameplay may not be spectacular, even boring to some, but it was nice to see the mechs get center stage.
>>17628904Each one looks fun to play.
