>>17447179A story and singleplayer campaign actually worth a shit. I haven't seen a good one in AC since Formula Front. The rest that followed are either half-baked or unnecessarily split. How important is tuning in Nexus?
>>17450706She's a goddamn cheater, and deserves no appreciation>>17450847Same
>>17451142The same as Last Raven. Would you rather drive a car that can go 50mph, or that very same car except it can now go 70mph. There is no reason to not tune your parts, other than gimping yourself for some self-imposed challenge.
>>17451142Tuning allows you to bring out the true potential of your build or straight up access builds that aren't functional without tuning, I'd say it's pretty damn important

Thoughts? Do you agree with this?
>>17452355As much as I prefer more militaristic or industrial designers like Kawamori or Fujioka, Nagano's absolutely no slouch.Wouldn't mind him designing a few part sets for the series, IBIS and some other NEXTs from IV were already pretty Nagano-ish so it's not like he would feel out of place.
>>174525124 and V really weren't anywhere near that bad.
>>17452512This is totally subjective.I only played AC3, SL and LR and I'd put them all in S as great games.
So, somebody in the last thread was greentexting about blading in LR, so I got off my lazy skinny ass and made these, forgive me if I didn't demolish those guys in record times but it's been over two years since I last played LR, I'm definitely rusty and clawing with my current controller is pretty uncomfortable. This is with my pet AC build:https://streamable.com/fgtekThis is being a cheap asshole with a lazily put together build:https://streamable.com/vecqkYou can also admire prime specimens of FROM's amazing enemy AI in their natural habitat.
>>17452542>As much as I prefer more militaristic or industrial designers like Kawamori or Fujioka, Nagano's absolutely no slouch. He's a tank freak and has made a lot of more militaristic design before. I imagine it would be very different from his mecha in FSS if he were to work on AC.
>>17453728His power armor design is something else too
>>17452542If you read the interview on forbes youd know that nagano was the tech geek. The directors / animators would ask him on how it this particular thing would work in real life.
>>17450678Just HEARING her voice makes my Assault Armor burst
>>17453762That's common knowledge, since most people know he was the one who came up with the idea of an inner frame with loose fitting armor that's become the norm in all mecha design. Anon was probably referring more to industrial aesthetics.
>>17453728>>17453762I know, I was just referring to the design in general, like >>17453780 points out.Besides, even on tank design you can't compare something like his Giant Gorg stuff to his FSS tanks, they have completely different design philosophies.

>>17461132I mean it's not out of the realm of possibility. They might have to find some way to tie AC to the success of Souls to convince Kadokawa or any publisher to let them make it instead of just another Souls
>>17461123All of this >>17461123, but bring back Shoji Kawamori to do the mechanical designs. If the Arms Forts are gonna come back, then just give Makoto Kobayashi free-rein over them all. Additionally, I'd like to see destructible environments that aren't made out of paper-mâché, as well as a healthy mixture of 4th and 5th gen style movement. I loved the city hopping in Verdict Day and being forced to actually climb and use cover, but the wide-open desert maps were such a drag, and would've been far better at speeds similar to 4 and For Answer.
From also said they want to try their hand at battle royales. Armored Souls Royale, here we come.

My first impressions of Nexus so far:- Tuning costs money, wtf- Failed a mission against some terrorist MTs, heavy damage. - UI is terrible- With the same parts as LR I have way less cooling. Weird...- Cicada head OP, 200 more AP- Stability is a hell of an issue

So I finally managed to get to Stinger (?) in Another Age but the second form of him that you also see in Project Phantasma kills me every time, what's the best way do defeat him? (funny thing is I am in the same situation IN Project Phantasma)
>>17461832LR toned down heat rise percentage, making the mechanic functional. In fact you can get quite functional heat management in LR, unlike Nexus.>>17462666A life as a jobber does that to you, Satan.
>>17463717I slapped a heavy radiator and it's mostly functional, only granade launcher hits can screw me up.I had to build a very energy efficient frame though, since energy output is also a problem.
What are some good weapons in Nexus that aren't machine guns?
>>17466032Rifles, sniper rifles, and bazookas. Heat is broken in Nexus and the AI don't know how to counter that, so that means enemy ACs are retarded ducks the moment they overheat. The triple missile launcher is pretty much broken when mixed with missile extensions.
>>17466040>The triple missile launcher is pretty much broken when mixed with missile extensionsI noticed that after failing multiple times that mission you fight two ACs at once. Missiles overheat a lot.
Nexus has issues but World Navigation is a song that will never ever leave my head. Whenever I'm working on something it plays in my head and it's very cool
>Nagano on Core design for 6I'd play it
>>17447276Medium Biped: Laser Blade, Laser Blade, Energy Amplifier, Mega Blade
>>17466075>This Raven only uses energy weapons as they have no ammunition cost
>>17466078Every penny counts.
>>17466094>Go wild on costs in previous gens because I could farm Arena>Get to Nexus >Have to take shit seriously now
>>17466098That's how you learn. The removal of easy-access arena (do them through missions) and the inclusion of Bets in LR makes it so you gotta make fucking sure you don't shit yourself with how little money you have. Unfortunately...It will turn you into an Energyfag. And even worse: there's builds that work wonders with energy-only. MOONLIGHT, EnAmp and Mega Blade is some of the most fun I had in ACVD.
>>17466098But Nexus gives you shitton of money. AC3 and SL without going to the Arena first is terrible, you can end most missions poorer than you started depending on your weapon.

>>17468833Such a good point. Some of my favorite maps were from AC2. That little base map with the water and forest. That huge map with tall towers that was like a space colony or something. I think there was a large one in AC3 maybe that was a misty bog type area that had like zero visibility. I'm personally interested in maps that incorporate indoor and outdoor areas. I think there was on in AC5 or VD that had underground tunnels reminiscent of some story. you could lose people in the tunnels but it led out to a massive open city area.

>>17474832>not bad, but the base game is overall a bit betterAC3 is in no way, shape or form better than SL.
>>17474839Nah nigga, SL is a straight upgrade mechanics wise and there's a much higher average in mission quality all around.I'll give you AC2 having a better campaign than AA but AC3 lags far behind SL, I can only accept the complaint that SL takes too much from MoA, but even if you accuse it of being uninspired, it still comes out on top.
>>17447179>Long and sensical campaign, which From has been getting good at lately.>Varied environments to fight in.>Third gen mechanics but fifth gen designs.>Plenty of arena content, including a team arena mode that lets you matchmake online versus AI or other players, or tailor allied bots ala FFXII's gambit system.>Some kind of systemic content, like a faction war mode where you fight for portions of a map that grant special resources. Bonus points if it incorporates online multiplayer, including co-op PvE.
I've started ACV and so far it's a pretty cool Front Mission game.
>>17451303That's a cool disorder unit.
>>17476539The Auge is cool, but it's too fancy and has too much shoulder load for my taste, cool redesign overall though. The Mighty line, Prominence, Vatshu or the Phantom Mirage are all more balanced in their aesthetic, let alone the chunkier designs like the rainbow Boowray.
>>17474837>>17474848I think both AC3 and SL are great. Their world feels a lot more alive than Nexus or LR.
>>17476963Frankly I just wish that 3 was shorter than SL instead of being the other way aroundAlso I'll always be annoyed at how shit the Arena was for SL when stacked against 3
>>17476981I dunno, both arenas are easy and I got the impression either the AI is better at dodging or they nerfed machine-guns in SL because I miss a lot more there.Terra is my favorite Arena opponent ever though, and he's from AC3.
>2 takes place on Mars>Literally no missions where you're on the red planet
>>17476963>Their world feels a lot more alive than NexusI don't know, Nexus feels pretty alive>or LR.That's kind of the point, LR is an apocalyptic scenario where there's just a tiny bunch of ravens left in a world scarred by the USM raids.
I'm trying to find a really old MAD. It featured footage from the ps1 games that slowly transitioned up until the armored core 2 games and my memory is kind of hazy might involve silent line. The song was love phantom and what really stood out was the fight with the escaped human + test subjects that spoke in robotic japanese voices.
