would you buy a Unicorn that it is literally bursting at the seams with Newtype jelly?
Will Bandai release non-Mithril arm slaves this year?
So the F91 kit has the F91 on the shoulders half baked into the model. What would be a good way of removing it? I've a few ideas but I'm worried I'd fuck it up by carving past the lettering.
>>17228472Putty?
Have there been any hints towards Bandai's plans with Wing besides Sandrock/Maganac HG?
>>17228490Hmmn, I'd just be worried about having the front end of the shoulders be fatter. It may just be a case of sandpapering down and smoothing.

Anybody know how tall the Bring Arts Weltall is compared to a gunpla kit? Is it MG or PG sized? So I know what size Shining and God Gundam to buy.

Me and a friend got into gunpla the other day, these 2 are mine. The OG has some really noticeable parts where I forgot to clean or didn't do it properly, and I wasn't confident enough to put the tiny camera stickers, but the Woundwort came out pretty ok if I say so myself. For my first time I'd say I did quite alright.

Someone finally made a video look at the MODEROID E5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ybf92UyxiF0Looking forward to getting mine at the end of the month. With the psuedo-frame going on it should be a great base for customs.
>>17229016>>17229037Usually I'd say sure, but I remember you starting the Guncannon even before IGBX was decided on as the theme and asking it you could enter it then. It'd feel pretty biased allowing an entry 6+ months of worktime while everyone else got only 3, so in this case I'd say you gotta start something new.

How much does HobbyLink Japan charge for shipping something the size of your average HG box? It's not giving me a proper cost estimate on the checkout page and I've never ordered from there before.
>>17229970Something like the Dijeh, which seems to be a pretty average HG, gave me $8.90 as the cheapest option to the U.S. To get a shipping estimate, I just go on the cart and select "Ship Now" on "Order Handling" to get my estimate

>>17229988I'm not the big brain poster here who buys model kits to "play" with instead of a line specifically made for that purpose.
>>17229913>play with your gundams this much to the point of stress marksdesu some gunpla are engineered so flawed that you don't even need to play with or pose them for the stress marks to appear like pic related (not mine but forgot which japanese blog I got it from). The same stress marks appear on the Tryon III since they're from the same mould. The worst one are the white parts that crack in half due to pressure that you only realize after it's too late and it's already happened. Like the wrists of the Clanche for example or the BS FP, SBS PW, HGCE Strike bicep parts. Also did you guys know those same bicep parts have moulding defects but bandai never issued a recall for them?
>>17229993>gunpla>not for playHuh... Weird. Because last time I watched some of bandai's shows that's exactly how they're marketed as. Gunpla is freedom and all that. Play with or display.

>>17230015I'm quite sure it's been a thing for more than three years.
>>17230007pic related was engineered in a way that sanding the part would completely kill the friction it needed to stay stable. I kinda wish they adapted the old design of the 1990s 144 ZZ wing binder shields instead. That would've been easier to sand and retighten.
>>17230019Well like I said, I've never really used that term until now. my bad for not knowing beforehand I guess?
How do I not fuck up waterslides like the idiot I am? I'm soaking the decals for 30-40 seconds (room temperature) and then I slide them on with a q-tip. I'm making sure to squeeze out air bubbles and remove any remaining moisture. They stick totally fine when I first apply them, but I come back a few hours later and they look like pic related, ready to peel off at the slightest touch. What am I doing wrong?
>>17230046Not using micro sol etc.
>>17230046You need to apply mark softer, which softens the decal and has it conform to the piece stronger. Check out Funaka's guide in the OP, page 112.
>>17230007>because i don't force my shit together. if there's any sign of strain during fitting i just sand the parts as needed. The ones circled red in pic related were engineered terribly. The outward force from the balljoint in the hand causes severe stress on the already thin & flimsy plastic on the wrist that gives the balljoint it's supposed grip in the first place as soon as it's assembled.>inb4 then sand it you mongoloidLets say you sand the ball joint... That would relieve some stress sure, but that would also leave the hand limp and loose, even if you only sand it a little. Because the whole thing is reliant on the thickness of the balljoint itself to apply enough pressure on the polycap & fragile wrist part to give it a stable grip. It's a catch-22. You sand it, it'll spaghetti - you don't it stays stable but inevitably breaks eventually. The only solution I found was to scratch build an entirely thicker wrist part or reinforce the original with thicker plaplate instead, since sanding the already thin & brittle plastic of the priginal wrist defeats the purpose. And shaving the polycap the balljoint attaches to only either limps the hand or makes the wrist part unable to attach firmly to the arm itself.

Newbie Gaylord here. I read through so many forums and only got unclear and different information when it comes to panel lining with enamel paint.I have a bottle of Tamiya Panel Line accent color. Now some people say it is safe to use it on my gunplas just as is. But then other people say that putting on a gloss topcoat first is absolutely mandatory because the enamel will eat through the plastic. Fine, but I find it weird that there are quite a few people who use it without gloss coating it first that don't report any issues. I really don't want to waste any extra money because I am student poorfag right now. Is using tamiya accent color on my gunpla for panel lining and then coating it with a matte top coat safe or am I playing with fire here?
>>17230059>>17230055I read a few guides/videos that implied mark setter/softer were optional. Guess not. Thanks anon.
>>17230065It's a risk no matter what. It's less risky if you gloss coat it or make sure to minimize the time there's wet panel was on the pieces. For example, don't use it on something that is snapped together because if it decides to go down the crevice it will stay active for a long time.
>>17229900>prevent stress marks on a kit from getting worse before it breaksThere's no preventing it. Some kits are just engineered really flimsy due to making it look anime accurate and stuff like that.>I'd rather know how to fix it if I canThat situation is entirely dependent. Each part breaks slightly differently than others and each way to fix it is also different. Some techniques work for others, some don't. - Mostly use plastic cement instead of super-glue since plastic cement melts the pieces together making the bond stronger but not as strong as it was new.- Plastic cement (Thick) is for repairs on PS type plastic, (Thin) is only usually used on seam welding, (ABS) is specifically used for ABS type plastic repairs.- Use brass rods to reinforce joints and any thick parts that move or transform. - For the thin & small parts: If the damage is major, either scratch build a new one, or recast. If it's minor, use an applicator like an insulin syringe to inject appropriate type of Plastic Cement into a part if it's not completely snapped in two yet. Like cracks and stuff. Press and hold FIRMLY together for about 15 mins safety, then let dry for a week or so to be safe. Afterwards shave excess melded plastic.

How do you achieve this color on those clear parts of the beam sword? I've also been meaning to recolor some clear blue parts yellow. Is that also possible and how?
I build my first gunpla today. I chose Char's Zaku: The Origin version. I have some decals but I don't have the eye sticker in the package. Is that normal or did the person I buy it from lose it or something. Can I get a replacement or is there a cheap method to make an eye?
>>17230175>I've also been meaning to recolor some clear blue parts yellow. Is that also possible and how?Keep in mind for clear parts you have to use light refraction instead of color paint mixing, so no, you cannot repaint a clear blue piece clear yellow and have it show up as clear yellow. Use your brain, anon. What you CAN do however is recast the part using clear, colorless resin, and then paint those recasted parts clear yellow. That will give you the desired color.

So I recently finished putting together my third model, a Xenoblade 2 - Siren from Kotobukiya. I'm still pretty new to this. Everything looked good enough when I finished putting it together but one day later I noticed that some of these long decals starting peeling off from the blades, I tried re applying water and they seemed to stick well again but after a couple of hours same thing happened. I think I may have taken too long putting these long decals in the right place the first time, maybe I moved them around too much and the glue spread too much of something. Is there some good way to re-glue these decals? Otherwise I guess I will just have to take them all away.

Guys what do you think about the upcoming hazel II kit? i did miss on the original HG woundwort but the preorder from samueldecal ends in these days but it will turn out to be "MG ammount of money" for my location (hard to get pbandai stuff) and i don't really know if it's worth it for a small ms like that. It's quite unique and i'd love to have more "strange" gundams in my displaycase
>>17232995It's only worth it if you're willing to make the commitment to get one. Plus this kit is the same woundwort parts but in titans colors and an extra gun for it.
>>17232995Check Bandai Online, that is where I pre-ordered this kit from, might be cheaper for you.http://www.bandaionline.com/hg-1-144-gundam-tr-6-hazel-ii-plastic-model-may-2019/

>>17232999Yeah,i guess that other than the design it's really just a standard HG>>17233017that's actually a really nice price, thanks! any problem you had with them for shipping?
>>17232995I personally thought the Woundwort was a huge piece of shit. I won't know how the new kit can be any better unless they completely redesigned some parts.
How good is the 2.0 in comparison to the original? is there any huge diference? did the first one still holds up?
>>17233146>I personally thought the Woundwort was a huge piece of shitYou're mistaking the 1/100 CuteCube for the P-Bandai HGUC Exclusive. Either that or you're angry you were stupid enought to have bought the former first.
>>17233146That's the kind of thing I wanted to hear, what are the problems? I saw that the open shield it's hollow but can't really see other problems without having one
>>17233165I prefer the 1.0's v-fin to the 2.0s. Plus they still haven't released a color accurate harrison maddin 2.0 yet. The HGUC Harrison maddin was a piece of colorblind shit. So was the Metal Build.
>>17233187>what are the problems? While it's not really as much of a piece of shit as angry mcautist would like you to believe:>The torso does have trouble swiveling side to side thanks to her giant cock sub-arm being in the way of her abdomen panel in MS Mode.>Her sex thighs have limited swivel thanks to the MA mode's square thigh design and transformation engineering. Probably for stability. Pretty stable when standing though considering it's tiny skinny feet support and giant weapon twice her size. Supporting all that and her huge petticoat style ass, it's amazing it can stand without an action base.>That and the MA mode is animation inaccurate in the sense that the sub-arm cock hangs too low because it can't tilt forward enough thanks to being a partsforming HG.
>I really wanted to like this kit...Where did it all go wrong you guys?
>>17233187its a transforming hg. pretty self explanatory

Eventually I got into bulk shipping and would get from amiami or used/older kits from Mandarake (who'd sometimes mark it down or as a gift to get past customs even without me asking). In the end it's up to you to decide what's best for you by calculating how much it'll cost for what you want to ship in from overseas (taking into account your preferred form of shipping, your countries customs fees) vs a local place.

>>17237330The 2.0's thing is having quite anime-like proportions and less surface detailing, pic related is the prime example just for having a 3.0 that's more like a standard MG, but it's the same with the rest
>>17237351The Chobham armor is not gonna be a separate release?
>>17237333I was honestly expecting the next RG to be the Nu also.
>>17237330I can't wait to read some of the seething comments about it like after the Jegan reveal.>>17237333>>17237463The Crossbone has easier P-Bandai opportunities
>>17237268>>17237269This could turn out to either be really neat or a total shitshow.>>17237329Actually I'd much prefer if they were to scale with any standard gunpla size, because that potentially means tons and tons of more custom build parts for whatever line these are similarly sized to. (Assuming bandai pumps out their own M.S.G.-esque sets to go alongside these obvious Frame Arms copycats)
>>17237162It doesn’t have RG’s trademark two-tone colours though.
>>17237467Bandai does cheap junk but they can't catch up to Kotobukiya's craftsmanship. Bandai will shelf this in a year. lmao
>>17237533>Koto>craftmanshipKoto is average at best, they are nothing compared to gsc or alter
>>17237540you've never built their kits have you? get out of here, you're not welcome in this thread
>>17237543Speaks like a Koto shill
>>17237546nobody listens to bandai shills so please go fuck off back into banshit's asshole
>>17237546Koto has no shills, folks like you are too quick to dismiss their fans.
>>17237150>RG>Still sticker for the crestTo be fair, short of color separation, the HG was a homerun
>>17237577They'll have a waterslide set out within a few months, tops, of its release.
>>17237150>RG CrossboneMaybe they'll finally make a Full Cloth kit that's not shit later.
>>17237150with every Katoki Crossbone I grow sadder and sadder
>>17237628so you're saying you hate Katoki's redesign of an MS he originally designed?
>>17237636Yes, him being the original designer is utterly irrelevant
>>17237268seeing b*ndai rip of frame arms and the girls has made me realize Koto is the world's best plamo company
>>17237648Bandai's mecha will pass up Koto soon anyways, especially when they're less than half the price of Koto's
>>17237650the drop in price is proportional to the drop in quality, koto and other brands have left them in the dust wrt quality and satisfaction
>>17237655It's amazing there are actually people out there who might truly believe this
>>17237655lol
>>17237651Soon-ish.
>>17237655Why is this HG with plastic wrapper wings over 90k yen?
>>17237662Meant 9k yen.
>Bandai vs KotobukiyaWhy can't we just be friends? (WIP btw)
