Please read it before asking questions, as there is a chance it has already been answered there. For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!>Why won't anyone answer my question?Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. IGBX: Immortal Group BuildBuild a mecha focused around vehicular racing for a high-speed race across the galaxy!>What constitutes a racing mecha? A mobile suit with a focus on speed/agility, with or without some sort of waverider/MA mode. This doesn't mean bulky mechs aren't eligible, it just needs to retain a sense of speed to it. All racing components must be incorporated within the mobile suit itself, and not be an entirely separate entity (IE, you can't make a mobile suit and a motorcycle, but you can make a mobile suit with parts that turns it into a motorcycle OR a mobile suit that has armorparts that turns a motorcycle)>Is weaponry/vehicular combat allowed?Yes, but ideally you should probably stick to hard-mounted weaponry instead of handheld weapons (Not that you can't include handheld ones, it's your build). The lighter the better in this case.>I can't come up with an idea for this theme, what's some good inspiration?IGPX, Eureka Seven, Redline, WipeOut, and F-Zero are good starting points for futuristic racing machines. If the Qua[T] is as sturdy as RGs can get, I'm afraid to think what the rest of the line must be like.
>>17139284Nah, only other thing we’ll accept is FSS. Your little manlet mech there will have to leave mate. Sorry.
>>17139296>the monshaposter likes fss now
>>17139200>If the paint has even one imperfection, it was a wasted effortIf you think you can just pick up an airbrush and have perfect paint every time as soon as you start, then I know you're a snapfag.
Besides Graze Ein what are some other plamo with Obari proportions?
>>17139314The Amememiya Transformers kits.
>>17139294I don't have Qua[T], but Tallgeese is pretty solid, then again, I use plenty of plastic cement during builds. Zeta has been by far the worst RG for me, the RX-78 was a little janky (I didn't use plastic cement on it). OO Raiser is good too, but needs a display stand because the backpack causes it to do the splits.
>>17139294The main body itself is fine but yeah, the shield connection could've been more secure.I had to fix that myself by replacing the peg with a thicker piece of runner.
>>17139309I agree with you, but seam lines are kinda a big deal when spray painting. it might not look noticeable on the normal model, but when you add the extra thickness with the paint, I really shows up. Also, I can understand that airbrushing is a pain to learn, but picking a FSS model when learning probably wasn't the best idea. I'm sure when this guy fully learns how to airbrush and all the other stuff, he can just go redo the paint and fix the seam lines.

Will Bandai fuck people over by releasing Jegan Type D as Pbandai and then releases the Stark Jegan as regular release?
>>17139416They will fuck over people by making the Stark Jegan P-Bandai as well.
Anyone used this stuff for visors or anything? Been thinking of picking some up for the gun cameras on HG rifles and such and maybe trying my hand at visor glass with it.
>>17139416What's the difference between the regular Jegan and the D-type? Isn't it just performance?
>>17139612visually? slightly new shoulders, crotch, and i think head and backpack
>>17139612Visually, it has a slightly different backpack, different shoulders, different pelvis, and a different color scheme. Mechanically, yeah, just performance.

Any norwegians in here? Where do you fellow norwegians get gunpla from?
>>17139966Yeah, the regular Jegan has a weird empty space where the legs connect to the body
When do you guys think we'll know if the new jegan is Pbandai?
Small update on Space Diver Cosmonaumi, so far everything is going well, the seam on the side is hidden, the face is still swappable, and the visor will raise up once i get the hinge made. The only road block ive hit is that i think i need a dremel tool to get into to of the smaller places, and im hesitant on spending the money for one since the Jegan D-Type just went up for preorder
>>17140113We knew the P-Bandai Jegan D was P-Bandai when it was announced through P-Bandai channels alongside the P-Bandai Base Jabber (Unicorn ver.)
>>17140175Weren't you going for a mastectomy since you hated women or something? What happened with that?
Oh i also painted my Jegan about a week ago, and im not crazy about it. Didnt help that I didnt have the colors I needed in lacquers, but i wasnt gonna fuck with using Vallejo again. Maybe I shoulve gone with maroon and dark brown instead of orange and grey-teal
>>17140196It looks too flat. Is it unfinished?
>>17140182the boobs are mostly chopped off for how it started. It's trying to shape it properly thats tricky since pressure suits are pretty undefined. I'm focusing on the helmet right now
>>17140196It just lacks contrast, the shade of gray clashes hard with the orange and white.
>>17140203It's in a limbo since im not crazy about it, but I dont really care to shade or weather it. I still need to figure out how to paneline painted kits since all i have right now are acrylics and lacquers, and i learned the hard way that acrylic washes dont work so well over Mr Super Clear
>>17139345I was hoping I wasn't the only one who found the shield connection finnicky. Love the rest of the kit though
>>17140225Gloss coat then panel line over that
>>17140239Yeah thats what I did, but you cant use rubbing alcohol to clean the lines because it eats through both acrylic and lacquer
>>17140255Use enamel panel line wash to line and lighter fluid to clean
>>17140263Do they come in enough colors, though? Or should I go with gundam markers? I'm very much not a fan of using only black, brown, and grey
>>17139667They're the exact same, it's just shot from a higher angle
>>17140273You could always create a wash by taking any enamel paint and thinning it to shit with lighter fluid.
>>17140273Buy a high quality oil paint and and some odorless turpentine/white spirits and make a oil wash
>>17140354oils are fuckin expensive tho, like i bought a small tube of magenta once for almost $20

The only difference between the two is hacchaka applied the decals while schizophonic9 didn't. There's no effort put into either of those builds besides the actual basics of putting together the kit by following the instructions.

>>17141113Who the fuck at Bandai Hobby thought that face should be white plastic with a giant 8 cornered black sticker covering most of it and another orange decal instead of just a black piece with a single small mostly smooth sticker for the faceplate?
>>17141280Bandai are cheap jews, but I agree and don't really understand how they chose which IBO suits to give good HGs to.Full City was the single most used gundam in the entire fucking series, yet it gets the absolute worst HG (maybe ever, if you account for some just being a product of their time)
Has nobody done a moon gundam with a sazabi head yet? Is the Vargil(?) getting a release?
The difference between regular Jegan and D type is the antennae, the shoulder armor, and the numerous holes that are meant to be panel lined right? And that's all? That's kind of bullshit.
How long should I wait for waterslide decals to dry on a part before applying clear coat/top coat?
>>17141442It's a slightly different color too.I mean for the actual in series depictions, the proportions change too. The CCA and F91 renditions had center section on chest protrude quite a bit further and thinner thighs. Bandai's been shifting everything towards to the D-type style recently though.
>>17140502How do people get those tiny serial number stickers/marks?Do you make them yourself? At first I thought it was included in some suits, but I saw them on some of the IBO which I am pretty sure don't have those included.
>>17141547Ver Ka. kits have hundreds of the damn things. You buy one of them and you're set for life basically.
>>17141513You're overthinking, it's simply a style difference because they were drawn by different people.
>>17141552Is there a nane for those things?
>>17141577Not that guy but a lot of those are just warning / caution signs if you look closely at the actual decal in person. That's why they're put by thrusters, joints, hatches, anything that moves or has extreme heat.
>>17141547im more interested in the colors on the funnels. Are they painted like that, or is it a kind of sticker or film?
>>17141621Looks like a decal.

Yeah, uh, I'm incredibly new to Gunpla and got a Zaku II for my first gundam to build, 1/444.In my haste to build I admit to have fucked myself over, though I think I am getting the gist of it. Or not, probably.
>>17141854>He cut every part off the runnerWelp. Just match them up to the pictures in order..
>>17141854It's a basic build, just look parts over carefully when assembling. Gotta say though, for a moment the thumbnail made me thing your lost your gunpla pieces inside your weed stash.
>>17141854In the future I would recommend not removing them all before hand, and only removing them as you build them. Other than that, just follow the instructions and have fun! My first kit was the HG Zaku II that you appear to be building as well, a pretty fun kit all things considered. If you like the design and have fun, i'd probably suggest looking into one of the more modern HG The Origin Zaku kits, they're pretty great.

>>17141854>1/444Was just trying to imagine the scale here. They would be what an inch tall? Maybe? That would be cool.
>>17141891You can pretty safely ignore any text or translations, just the images and part numbers are necessary. You'll have to play it by eye since you cut them out, but you should be fine just use your head before putting any parts together
>>17141890i'm not going to put THAT much work into it, its unrealistic to make the arms the same
>>17141891>Some important info is still in JapaneseYou can look up translations for just about everything, people even translated the instructions if you google your specific instructions. You can also google what the symbols stand for. Other than that, nothing is very important in Japanese. Everything is represented by images properly.

>>17141994really only like, till the water dries man. put it in the sun for like 5 min>>17142011alas the 1 disarming reply that was possible. ive used washes many times and like how faint and sketchy some of the lines can come out but filling lightly with eyeliner and buffing can give some pretty nice results. im not good at weathering so i dont want to. i would if i had found this idea somewhere else but it really was something i just thought of.
>>17142038What the hell were you even using to wash if your lines are coming that shitty? It's pretty damn hard to fuck up with Tamiya Accent and Mr Weathering, even a little kid can do it. I can't even tell if your posts are bait anyways with sentences like that.
>>17142034Thank you for telling me.Also, little update, torso is (mostly) done.
>>17142064You don't need glue for basic construction (unless it's an 80s kit), only for advanced touch-ups that exist for preference (for which you want to get plastic cement for. I suggest getting both a regular and a thin kind, but if on budget just Thin Tamiya Plastic Cement should be good enough). If you're satisfied with construction and plan to paint, then thin plastic cement is especially useful for hiding separation lines (called seams) on your kit.Out of curiosity, what building tools do you own and how's your monthly budget?
>>17142079I have no actual tools, just this pair of scissors as a nipper. I get like 5 hundred something a week, not a lot, so I ain't expecting to have high quality anything soon.
>>17142051im only speaking of getting interesting effects, eyeliner can fill a line completely and can be buffed off to be flush, and it will dry and harden there, however it is hard to manage to use this in a painted model. i still wash usually but i like using eyeliner too sometimes.
>>17142100A-anon, invest into some clippers asap. Something basic like xuron cutters (orange handles) and a basic exacto knife goes a long way. It's pretty cheap, about 20-30 bucks all together with replacement knifes. Both tools have plenty of uses outside of just getting model pieces off the runner too.People often recommend God Hands, but you in general want regular cutters with them and they are more of a convenient cutter tool to save on sanding rather than your main one.I am guessing you work part time as a student? For future another tool I'd recommend is a pin vise, you can get a cheap one at any hobby store as well.
>>17142100If you're actually serious about continuing the hobby you should pick up a pair of God Hands for about 50 dollars. They're pretty costly but will save you a lot of time and headaches when it comes to nub management as a beginner and beyond that. Anyone here who's purchased them can attest to that.
>>17142126You're going to have poor anon waste 40-50 USD on nippers he'll accidentally break like some anons few threads back.

Okay, so we have a glimpse of Gunpla beyond February with the C-Pack Narrative Gundam coming in March, then the Revive Destiny in May (Not talking about P-Bandai, but the regular releases)Have we had any clue for more regular releases to come after February? Or is the Narrative and Destiny all we know atm?
Don't know whether I should wait for this one or just buy the Steel Legends Kshatriya already. Both look pretty damn amazing and are massive.
>>17142339That's all.Just check Bandai's websites and twitter account, gone are the days magazines and boards like 4chan always leak info first.
>>17140427Painting takes time and these people are clearly more interested in the collecting part of gunpla instead of the model part.
>>17142384That one is not Steel Legend. That is the MC one which uses the same mould as the Elyn Hobby one.
>>17142339There are the new SDs
>>17141854>>17142064You know what, personally I think you are just a troll who is out to trigger people, but I'm feeling great today so I give you the benefit of the doubt:If you really are new, then hi/welcome-andallthatshit, I suggest you read the guide before you go any further (watching some decent videos on youtube isn't a bad idea nor is googling around, but the guide is a great start). Ask yourself one question before you continue; do I want to atleast put in a little effort into my plastic crack? If the answer is yes then I suggest you actually pay attention if the answer is no then I suggest you leave this thread.Building gunpla is super easy and you don't need to be able to read Japanese. Some of the stuff like certain symbols do get explained in the guide and I'd suggest trying to remember what they mean (also newer kits since last year have english in their guides aswell). What's important is that you get the proper tools to build kits. Using >>17142100 is literally the very worst you could do, so stop mutilating your plastic with those scissors. Buy a pair of decent nippers (they aren't expensive), get a small file and some sandpaper and you are basically good to go.While assembling your kit make sure you completely remove the nubs and file then sand them down so that you can't see them anymore. It's the very least amount of work you can do on your kit and you really should. If you can't be bothered with that then this just isn't the hobby for you. Also if you plan on posting here I hope you have a spine, since this isn't a hug box like other places on the internet. People are going to call your "work" garbage and shit and they will be right. Learn from it, improve and advance. This hobby requires you to do a bit of research on things. So again atleast read the guide. Good luck, have fun.
>>17142427I know it is. That's why I said "wait for this one"
>recommending 50 dollar nippers to a kid who will probably snapfit 1 or 2 HGs and then never touch a gunpla ever againlol you guys really have to suck off grorious nippon steel every chance you get huh?
>>17142470stop being poor xacto scrub
>>17142452You know I really feel like you're being a massive faggot, but thanks, I guess. Treating me like a child isn't really necessary, this is 4chan man. Thank you for the info about the scissors, but really, you're coming off as a real dickhead, y'know? If you wanna just say "Can you stop posting here" then just do that, don't fake being a good person when you wanna bite my head off for starting the hobby wrong. I'll see what I can do and try to be halfway decent at what I do, but expecting me to think that my "work" is just wrong. I'm doing this because I like gundams, not to impress some fatass on the internet. I'm going to buy, build, and pose the shit I like, if it's bad, then it's bad. You insulting me won't change that.
>>17142475*that my "work" is goodSorry for the mistake.
>>17142475>>Hey man you should look both ways before crossing the street.>Hey listen man, I'm not trying to impress some fatass on the internet!
>>17142475From your low self esteem, it sounds like you might be of Asian descent. If that's the case, I take back everything I said. Your hereditary sweat shop skills will power you through any build. Gomenasai!
>>17142492Imagine going to a bunch of computer enthusiasts and telling them that your ASUS laptop is godlike because it can run minecraft at 30 fps. Then bitch at them for rightly saying that you're certifiably retarded for talking to them when you don't take computers as seriously as them.
>>17142501I didn't say anything about that, now did I?>>17142500Carrabien Native actually, so it's above even Asian sweatshop skill.
>>17142532Yeah, fucking sucks.
>>17141513I thought only the prototype Stark Jegan had the protruding cockpit because it was a 2-seater, at least according to wiki
>>17142475>you're being a massive faggot>you're coming off as a real dickhead>wanna bite my head off >impress some fatass on the internet>You insulting me won't change that.I think you forgot the "have a spine" step. Seriously if my post already triggered you this much then you have no reason to be here anyway.>just say "Can you stop posting here"Alternatively you could stop being a little bitch, listen to the feedback you are given and stop whining about how much yoiur delicate fragile feelings are hurt by someone not giving you a pat on the head.
>>17142475>anon just explains what to do>doesnt say anything insulting>newfag goes ape shitWhat are you even doing man? Are you so insecure that you lost your shit over someone explaining to you how to do the hobby? What are you even getting mad about?
>>17142569Clam down, anon. Dude's a carbonara native american trying to snapfit a gunpla for one his 34 kids. His wives left him for some potato gringo and now he's stuck in a rut. Shit's tough, yo.
>>17142475>My feelings are hurt!!>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE>Literally nothing to be mad aboutOh look it's another socially retarded teenager on the internet. Just leave this is no place for you.
>>17142577Yeah and we're going to have to spend the next few weeks filtering through the crappy potatocam pictures of nub ridden shitfests that he's going to post, while asking people to RATE.Always the same shit.
I really just want to know where my 0083 2.0's are
>>17142587Now THAT is good question. Witha ll the amazing engineering we've gotten over the last few years I'd really like to see some of those kits remade.
>>17142126> should pick up a pair of God Hands> Anyone here who's purchased them can attest to thatnotsureshillingorjusttrolling.webmmemehand was more suitable for cut tiny things as the blade was thin & quite fragile at some point, that's that.if anything, tools efficiency is based on how the user wields it. pick up a decent nipper, improvise said nipper & you're good to go.did it on Mineshima D3A; sharpen the blades, tighten the hinges, strengthen up the spring & oil it up decently. it work wonders even till now.
>>17142662>based on how the user wieldsSame goes for godhands. I've used many types of nipper from cheap to the high end ones and the godhands are by far the best around. As long as you dont do anything stupid with them they provide amazing results.
>>17142674even with all the precaution you could do, you will never stop the accumulation of micro fractures on those tiny blade, during the usage for a period of time. those blade will break somehow.unless cutting tiny sprue out of runner, it's a ok. but not all sprue on runner is tiny enough and those tiny blade gotta suffer.
>>17142662I've built and cut up a total of around 30 kits since I started the hobby in July with it, over half of them MGs. I also used it to cut every single piece off the runner with every one of those kits. It still looks like new, still cuts like butter with no stress marks, and is only showing a tiny bit of rust near one of the handles because of the climate here. I treated it with oil after every single use to make sure the blades didn't rust. If you take care of your tools, then they'll take care of you.>>17142674I also bought pretty much every single sided nipper on the market that I could find, including really obscure ones. Even the DSPIAE nippers which an Anon recommended. Nothing came close to the cut quality of God Hands and a few of them were the same price as it, like the DSPIAE nippers. I posted the cut quality comparisons here a while back with all of them.
>>17142784Don't use oil, have used my ultimate nippers for five years, still as good as new. >>17142662 is a retard who probably tried to cut the runner instead of gates.
>>17142662Ham hand supreme
i was building the reversible gundam but early into it i got bored of the build. has anyone else had a problem with that specific kit? i've just seemingly lost interest in it and i want to move onto other stuff from my backlog but i feel bad for having a semi complete kit just sitting around.
Atlas Gundam looks cool. Too bad they had to put that ungodly fugly shled on it's back to bump the price to RG levels.
>>17142475You really need to follow his advice and grow a spine. He explained what you're doing wrong and you threw a hissyfit. If you want somewhere to post your low-effort builds and only be praised for it, maybe reddit is more your speed.
>>17143008Aside from almost fucking up the right leg (twice), I had no issue with the Reversible.
>>17143008HG Ez8, but maybe that's just because I built the RX-79G before it.
>>17142475Yeah. So this is definitely bait/a troll. The fact that you fags fell for this is sad.
>>17140951apparently you don't either
>>17143008Also the Gaplant Hrairoo. It looks cool, but the build is just so long-winded and repetitive. It's probably because it's a transformable suit and so it feels super flimsy despite being so big and that makes it feel unsatisfying to build.I also can't understand why they put the stand plug on a fucking hinge instead of just having one static plug each for the MA and MS modes. It's too heavy so no matter how you pose it in MS mode, it's going to lean backwards or forwards on the hinge.
>>17143208that fucking hinge. I love this kit but fuck me standing that hinge is the goddamn worse. This kit is a perfect example of why I prefer partsforming to perfect transformations. The gimmick of engineering the transformation is nice but it's exactly that, A GIMMICK, a toyetic gimmick at that. I'm here to build models not toys.
>>17143276i think i prefer perfect transformation. atleast when it doesnt ruin the integrity of the kit. zz gundam not withstanding
>>17143288in a perfect world they would sell kits that let you display both modes at the same time.
>>17143326like the loto twin set?
>>17140554>trendThere's probably less than 30 builds of this style and anytime someone does this it's usually an rx-78 or zaku II.Now what really needs to die is the idea that slapping random chunks of plastic on a kit is some proof of being skilled.
>>17143458Chinese mecha aesthetics of walking scrapyards needs to die.
Why are the only things discussed here release dates and actually not much elsethis general has imploded recently
Transferring this discussion from the discord. The recent SRW T trailer got my creative juices flowing and now I want to try and make a Harlock themed custom MS.Obviously, it needs to be pirate themed. For this kitbash, what would match Arcadia best? Using the Crossbone Maoh as a base or shell out a bit more and use the X-1 Full Cloth?Definitely going to be painting this green as well.
>Use weapon once>Put it in the kit as the trademark weapon anywayThis pinches my autism. Lupus used the maces and underarm guns a whole lot more. The guns looked kinda crap with how much they protruded from the arms though. At least the 6th form's look like they're part of the arm. Still, I wish I could buy the upgrade packs.
>>17143622At least we're not back to the days of the image spammer and that snapshit tripfag with his G-reco kits. What happened to them anyhow? Were they the same guy?
>>17143820No it was actually 2 guys who made the mistake of coordinating their shitposts through a public discord server so it was really easy to track down who they were and where they live. They shut up real quick once that got out. Haven't heard a peep from those little bitches in some time.
>>17143640how about opening the discord back up
>>17143622you're probably better off looking at reddit's gunpla board, same people anyway
>>17143820Why do you guys hate snapfitters so much?
>>17143841It's not all snapfitter per se, just that most people that are overly proud of their enough to post it online are usually extremely lazy, not even bothering to clean nubs properly or panel line, and will get extremely defensive like >>17142475
>>17143841We don't. That was his tripname. It started with a character in Build Fighters that we nicknamed Snapfit-kun and a couple of people jokingly called him that in the gunpla thread. I guess he liked it and decided to take it up as his niche to be the obnoxious resident snapfagger who would post shitty pictures of his shoddily put together kits. He got mad that we called his work shit so he started spamming random images with REALLY stupid filenames, like the kind of word combinations you'd only hear a 9 year old say on the playground.
>>17143867Wasn't even a tripfag, just a namefag. He ended up going to 8/m/ and posting his kits with his cringey MS paint avatar where he also got ridiculed. I think he was just genuinely autistic.
>>17143878No, you're thinking of Whiteagle. Snapfit was the guy who avatarfagged as a Mack Knife
NGL this looks pretty fun to customize
>>17139978I'm Sweden here and I just buy off ebay. You can occasionally find them in specialist shops but importing online is much cheaper
Did they ever fix the supposed issues with the RG Zeta?
>>17143980No, but most people say that if you're careful you can avoid any damage. also removing the wings when transforming is a good idea
>>17143836Nigger, we’re still here. Post the info graphic, don’t give a fuck. We still troll and shit post in here ERRY DEY
Next RG and MG announcement when?
>>17143640Crossbone X3 would be easy mode
>>17143867I remember that kid. It was nice seeing a regular design in a series of reimagings, but it kinda bugged me how his brother was a boxer and neither of them thought to use a Maxter. It would had contrasted Burning nicely too.>>17143866One thing that I love about gunpla is all the work the designers have put into part separation so that the kit looks amazing right off the box without paint or glue. It's well above the quality standard I'm used to. I understand people wanting to paint and pimp their kits, but seeing people acting like the vanila gunpla quality is beneath them and shitting on it doesn't sit well with me.My standard was set by the western toylines (made in China). Bad plastic, meh articulation, show inaccuracy, and mold lines for the same price as a gunpla. I was already unhappy with Hasbro and LEGO before, but the Bionicle G2 fiasco and getting my first gunpla pushed me to active resentment.I posted a few pictures of Barbatos on the Bionicle thread over at /toy/, comparing one company's skeleton-with-snap-on-armor-shells with another's at the same price point. Some guy complained that these were production pictures, so I posted a few crappy photos of my Lupus. No paint, no stickers, nubs still on the horns (I like them better honestly). The coat flaps were missing because they were in the way of the legs. The guy went wild at this point, yelling about "not LEGO" and accusing me off showing off my incomplete snapfit. I couldn't tell if it was gunpla autism or a LEGO brand loyalist trying to keep people from taking their money elsewhere. The brick fandom has a fair share of autists, but the company is also known to send free stuff, free prototype pieces, and free new sets in advance to a number of community heads and personas in order to peer-advertise and keep fans invested.
>>17144178It’s just hard for autists to understand that most people have shit taste, like you. Gunpla is already a very niche hobby in English speaking places, so its to be expected that it attracts lazy, low effort, NEETs once they find out they can just snap together a kit and be accepted. Nothing against you, someone has to have shit taste, and everyone can’t have artistic skills or an artistic eye.Just don’t go posting your terrible snap builds to the internet and not expect to get shitted on. I can look at stock photos released by Bandai if I want that.
>>17140947That’s a wholesome thought, good on you anon
>>17144178>I couldn't tell if it was gunpla autism or a LEGO brand loyalistOr maybe, just maybe it people who take this hobby more serious and who are sick of extremely lazy people like you?
Snapfag here, just got my hands on a Woundwort and a Polypod. What’s the cheapest shit to buy to not be a snapfag?
>>17144248start with drawing pen. it doesn't even cost you 5 bucks
I want it.

>>17144267Meh. I’d like it better if it was a ball and not a haro.
>>17144284that would be a fucking awesome memeHow would we get a Qt waifu to market this ?
>>17144276This has been your only “argument” the entire thread. No one cares that you snapshit. Just don’t expect people not to talk shit when you post a nub ridden, decal-less, non panel lined, snap built, $12 hg.
>>17142784Maybe you can help me with an issue I've been having? I picked up a pair of God Hands, but I'm still seeing marks when cutting flush on the piece (especially on dark pieces). Am I doing something wrong? Is there a specific technique I'm too stupid to figure out?
>>17144322>buying god handsyou fucking fool not another one
>>17144276I don't get it. If you want to be a snapfag go ahead, but that doesn't mean we have to lie and tell you you did a good job when you post your crap.
>>17143866im mortally terrified of posting my eyeliner lining job even though im pretty shocked at how good looking th job came out. hard to gauge how something unusual like that woukd be recieved. thing is im also kinda new, can't manage nubs very well as no clippers or paint, just a very sharp pocket knife and superfine, but im not made of money and do the best I can anyways. I've been buffing and filling with charcoal on grayscale panels and that's fine because I buff all my panels anyway for more matte look..
>>17144196I am sorry to hear you're painting toy robots for acceptance. I just love playing with super articulated cool robots that can exchange parts (hence the interest in bonkles). I used to be into GW stuff and won a local LotR painting competition, plus I customized a few toys back in around 09'. Like I said I'm all for customizing your toys, but once you do, you can't play with them anymore.I dig the LED though. Did you install it or is it a made piece?>>17144230>Compare LEGO's skelebots with shells to Bandai's skelebots with shells of the same price>The point is that LEGO is selling a subpar product for a high price and has been mistreating it's consumers>Post stock pictures>Get told that the comparisson is unfair because the pictures are meant to promote the product>Post pictures of my own toy because it doesn't get any more accurate than this>Defense changes into "you're showing off your shit build! >>17144342>If the people you're refering to aren't shills or trolls then they have severe mental issues.I don't care for either side in this and I think it's a retarded argument to be having to begin with.
>>17144337Post it anyway. The point is to have fun or get feedback, not get accepted.
>>17144352yeah, feedback is what i would prefer to get hence the reason for trying unorthodox methods. i did a lot of good looking damage to the 00 with the eyeliner applied as well but I think for posting I'd rather solely line and buff my recently completed f91 for proof of concept and I will be back within the next few gens with the best glamor shots I can manage with my dated dslr.
>>17144342I can see you’re new here. That’s not my build, I simply posted it as an example of a terrible job. >I am sorry to hear you are painting toy robots for acceptanceSee, when you demean/downplay the hobby that you yourself are partaking in, it doesn’t help your argument. This is the argument snapfags always use when they’ve run out of excuses. If you want well articulated toys, they make figures just for that. These are models though, something you don’t play with. Pick up, examine, and maybe even repose, sure. Play with? Nah. Got get a robot spirit or metalbuild figure or something. I wonder if the nips have to deal with this kind of cancer in their gunpla community?
>>17144351The point is to vote with your wallet. Complaints are going to get you nothing if you keep throwing money at a company.
>>17144337To be fair anon, posting crappy stuff is also about attitude. A guy that posts something crap but is humble (and knows he didn't do a good job) and asks for help, WILL get help. Idiots that post terrible shit and then go around talking shit about how they think they did enough or how they don't like other's opinions on their work are the ones that get rekt.
>>17144369Again anon, I don't give a fuck about the argument you and whatever other nerds are having.
>>17144367I don't get the red highlights desuI like the rest of it, but they just look weird, especially since there's plenty of those recessed details not filled inKiller colour separation on the rifle, though
>>17144196>>17144342>I dig the LED though.I thought it looked familiar and poked around on dalong.http://dalong.net/review/etc/hyh10/hyh10.htm
>>17144372>still has an obvious seam line running down the entirety of the rifle.
>>17144381Yeah, but that premium goog underside tho
>>17144381Yeah, sure, but that's a small negative in a sea of positives. It's easily outbalanced by the clean paintjob, clean decal application, and clean panel lining. It's also not quite that bad, it's only visible on the the stock and the barrel, plus a bit (and only a bit, only in the middle) of the scope. So it's a 'you were close' problem, not a 'you didn't even try, did you?' problem.
>>17144367>"DIS IS A SERIOUS HOBBY U GAIZ! GIT GUD LIKE ME!">Post shit you didn't even build yourselfYou're just as bad as the snapshitters.
>>17144371You give enough of a fuck to say that you don't give a fuck. Got it.>>17144367I'm not a regular, no.Who said I am demeaning the hobby? I am demeaning the manner you are conducting yourself. You are so insecure and underachieving that you're trying to scrape some respect by painting robot toys. And by whom? "lazy, low effort, NEETs".>If you want well articulated toys, they make figures just for thatOnce again, for the nth time, I was comparing articulated buildable skelebots with shells on them at a certain price range with other articulated buildable skelebots with shells on them at a certain price range.
>>17144418>You give enough of a fuck to say that you don't give a fuck. Got it.No anon I'm telling that I don't give a fuck in the hope that you stop telling me about your stupid argument (which I don't give a fuck about hence why I want you to stop talking about it). From all the previous posts I get that you are socially stunted, but even you should ahve been able to understand that much.
>>17144418>>17144423Can you two just rent a cheap fucking hotel somewhere and go kiss and make up instead of clogging up /gpg/ with this circular shit?
>>17144418You’re doing it again. Demeaning the hobby. You’d be better off sticking to your autism building blocks.
>>17144435>please mommy and daddy dont fight
>>17139661You forgot the arms and lower legs and entire forehead and backpack and crotch. You could just google translate the p bandai website and it would tell you
>>17144453Anon, look at this >>17142452. This is the post where it all started.Look at that time. That was 12 fucking hours ago. Half a day this has been going on in the exact same circles, round and round and fucking round. This is not entertaining, or enlightening, or anything, it's two autists stubbornly smacking their heads against brick walls. This needs to fucking end.
>>17144466It’s actually highly entertaining. I love this shit. Watching autists argue about Chinese robot toys is the reason I come to this general.
I still find this whole forced elitism vs snapfagging hilarious. Back when these threads became a regular thing instead of a random slow thread every few weeks back when build fighters started the thread was mainly populated by newfags and snapbuilders who came here because shitposting on /toy/ was at an all time high and was too "elitist". Now the threads are exactly like the /toy/ threads were back then. We're only missing a guy spamming about FFS kits and "muh serious models aren't toys" every thread.
>>17144474>We’re only a missing a guy spamming about FSS kitsDamn, that sounds nice. I bet those were the fucking days.
>>17144481It was a guy spamming about how horrible they were and how much he hated the designs specifically because it would trigger the threads autistic ffs poster (who had been spamming pics of ffs kits he himself had never built before) and then the two would spend literally the whole thread shitposting each other for an entire day. It was fucking awful.
>>17144491Sounds fairly entertaining honestly. Got any screen caps?
>>17144322That mark will always happen, instead don't cut flush. After that, sand the mark down or trim the mark with a knife. If that fails, paint over it.
>>17144382Blue board, anon. Blue board.
>>17143980Just keep to one form and use glue
>>17144491>autistic fss posteroh, that guy's still around, you can catch him if you post enough triggering shit.he might even screencap of your post and mock you on twitter as an extra.
my first kit
Quick pic of my mg sniper II, i'll do a real one eventually. I did not enjoy this build and had a FUCK TON of fitting/tightness issues. I imagine it was just a fluke as everyone loves this kit.
>>17144618>had a FUCK TON of fitting/tightness issuesI don't know about a fuckton, but from about the knee down it (at least the almost identical GM Command) was quite hit-or-miss for me in terms of fit
>>17144618>that long ass hair on backThat’ll be a yikes from me
>>17144627If you notice in my pic, the chest isn't even fully on. I spent 1+ hour trimming shit in side the chest trying to make it fit, and nothing worked. I also had issues with>weak upper arms>toe piece>thruster bells fitting through boost-armor piece in the back of the leg>neck area, might be related to chest issue>hip pegs are a sack of shit and way too short>stupid fucking system to support/move the arms, isn't remotely sturdy enough for some reason
>>17144634thats actually a part of the drawing in the background that my phone didn't recede, not a hairi even got up to check
>burn through a thread shitposting in a day>not even with new announcementsBetter luck next time, lads.
>>17144445You talk elitist shit all throughout the conversation such as>It's just hard for autists to understand that most people have shit taste, like you.>Nothing against you, someone has to have shit taste, and everyone can't have artistic skills or an artistic eye.>This is the argument snapfags always use when they've run out of excuses.>Keep coping snapfag. You'd be better off sticking to your autism building blocks. And then you play the victim by saying>Because someone decides to go an extra step and actually paint their kit, suddenly they are a loser looking admiration and respect by anonymous users on the internet and have nothing else going on in life. You're crying persecution even as you look down on others. This is why your NPD tactics doesn't work on written form. Because you're relying on muddling what's been said, but there's an archive of it to go back and reread or quote.Once again I am demeaning you in particular for your appauling manipulative personality, so stop trying to hide behind everyone in the thread who paints their gunpla and make them take a stand with you by jumbling my words to include them. I said>I understand people wanting to paint and pimp their kits, but seeing people acting like the vanila gunpla quality is beneath them them and shitting on it doesn't sit well with me.>Like I said, I'm all for customizing your toys, but once you do, you can't play with them anymore. You have lied repeatedly, you have put yourself above others just because they aren't painting their plastic robos, you have attempted to manipulate those who paint theirs to come to your defense.
>>17144646But anon, vanilla gunpla is literally for sub humans. Also: lol at your life for writing all this out. Bet you typed it up in notepad first, proofread, and edited it.
>>17144611It's cute. Now make it work what its momma gave it and strike a pose.
>>17144618Somehow I always recognize your builds. Looks good, love the rifle.
>>17144635>>neck area, might be related to chest issueOh, actually, I had this one for my final fitting too. That 'collar' piece wouldn't go on properly, at least not without it feeling like it's about to snap, so I can't actually get the neck balljoint in fully. It's currently held on by a wad of blu-tack.
>>17144670I have this exact same issue, and it might have caused the chest issue. I've done like 50+ builds so I don't understand why this one fucked me over.
Which kits are the most interesting/enjoyable to put together? Even before you decide to paint and/or mod them
>>17144639Shame on you for using fake DoF. Get out.

heyyyy~ can you talk about something other than how your way is better than someone else's?like it or not gunpla is an art form and literally everythING said in these threads about technique is one hundred percent subjective like yea im taking bait but like why are u guys ruining this general who hurt u
>>17144828>gunpla is not a valid art formwhy?
>>17144829That is the exact opposite of what he said

Bandai posted snapfit pictures and box art of the Galaxy Mega / Delta Mega SMP release: http://bandaicandy.hateblo.jp/entry/2019/01/11/173000Seams don't seem too bad, the arms are double jointed. The waist has a gap in it because of how the Delta Mega fits over the the Galaxy Mega which looks ugly as fuck in their head on shot. Still, looking forward to it.It also releases a day before the Moderoid E5. The second and P-Bandai third Getter SMP set also releases this month but doesn't have a date as far as I know yet.
>>17144878I try to watch everything but I don't know shit, Tomino's narrative just make everything go over my head. I watched 46 episodes of Z Gundam and I still don't know what the series is about or what the fuck is going on.

>>17144922now we just need ankle guardsim so fucking glad bandai realized that we want more panel lines
>>17144902Did you watch 0079 first?

>>17139294Anything in 1/144 scale is garbage and not worth it.
>>17144922is this the A-packs or C-packs version?
>>17144922Wow, this looks really good right now. What was added on though?
>>17140922you mean the gunpla?
current snapfag here, I wanna ask how long did it take you guys to start painting your kits? What was your first paintjob like?
>>17141854what the fuck? There is literally an instruction step by step
>>17145029>How longStill haven't. I have three bottles of paint, a compressor, an air gun. Just nowhere and no good weather to paint.
>>17145029I fucked up
>>17145043Yes you did, look at this shit.
>>17145029snapped 1 then painted the next
>>17145048yeah that's why I want to start painting soon, I just gotta get my own place.
>>17145066You gotta clean that first though.
>>17145072yeah I'm working on smoothing out all the nub marks
>>17140661There's nothing wrong with the Strike Freedom, but having 3 of any Gundam is batshit, and posing them liie that is criminal.
>>17145081You should try to denub before assembly, it's easier in my opinion.
>>17145010The thigh and bicep armors maybe?Since the original left those naked.
>>17145081>>17145072Do you have any advice on how to smooth them out?, right now I'm using a box cutter.
>>17140876So it could be worse
>>17145091Well don't use a box cutter first of all, it's nowhere near sharp enough to reliably do so. Your best bet is to get some sandpaper. Decent ones to start with (I started with them) are these.https://www.usagundamstore.com/products/kamiyasu-sanding-stick-400-3mmThere's also another pack that has finer grits. You can also pick up god hands to cut the nubs clean after you remove the parts from the runner. That takes a lot of practice though.
>>17145107ok thanks for the advice, friend
>>17145054get out of here art teacher-kun
>>17144618oh i forgot to mentioni weathered this, didn't like it, then WASHED the kit and it actually worked really well lol
>>17145107wow helpful advice instead of just lambasting a new guy?!?!?!?!?!? am i in the right thread????
>>17145118>>171451423M brand sand paper is really good and cheap. I recommend 800/1000/1500 grits.
>>17141849Why would you paint the inner frame? A light wash for definition maybe, but full on painting?
Finished her, the decals are 20 years old and were falling apart as I put them on but I'm happy with the outcome. The shield was my first attempt at a more complex masking and painting job and I like how it came out. Now that this is done, I can finish my prowler then its onto the resin Cloud Schatze.
>>17145259Looks good mate. How difficult would you rate the build compared to say, an MG?
>>17145274much harder. many parts need to be cemented together and because of that you have to plan your build around painting before you snap it together. Some parts are fragile and thin by design and the parts count is comparable to an early MG. That being said I loved this build as it taught me alot during the build process.
Will proper usage of thin cement replace the need for puttying on minor seam lines?(not related to above question) Sometimes super glue nor plastic glue work, what should I use then? I assume plastic glue like tamiya cement stops working because of the paints/primers, but sometimes even super glue fails.
>>17145309depends on the seam. once you weld the seam and sand it flat, prime the piece. this will reveal if the seam is truly gone or not. if not then thin putty is called for to ablate the seam completely. and you are correct, once you paint the part, plastic cement stops working and superglue will bond to the paint just fine but now the only thing holding your parts together is a thin layer of paint with glue on top. to combat this, sand down the surfaces you plan to glue together to give your glue something to adhere to.
>>17145274There's nothing more "difficult" about an MG than HG or PG or any other Bandai kit. All you do is cut parts from a sprue and snap them together. Non-Bandai kits, especially glue ones, require more planning and test-fitting. And on giant robots with a billion moving parts, it's extra tough.
How do you apply matte coat? I know gloss is supposed to be relatively wet/thick, but is matte the same?
>>17145382Geez, calm down you autist
>>17145433There's nothing wrong with what he said, lazy snapfag.
>>17145480Nice google image search.
>>17145388ya get it wet evenly and it'll dry matte
>>17145503Yes. Let the salt flow through you snapfag
>>17144618Oh hey it came out better than it looked on the lineart you posted, pretty good anon. What do you plan to do next?
>>17145388dont just spray it all at once, do it layer by layer.
>>17145562Yes. Your butthurt sustains me. Keep going.
>>17145123what sort of grudge do you even have against him?
>>17145503> missing it's actually a reaction image of sazabi pointing the gun toward you
>>17145661>"I know what his job is because someone asked him why I have my gunpla in an art classrom, what an attention whoring fag!"
>>17145702Can I ask something, in this place of 118 posters, is it a possibility that there are just only 5 asshats who keep spamming stupid craps around? All those shits have similar writing styles and behaviors.
>>17145029Almost bought this one today.I've been painting since the beginning, but I started ages ago on airplanes. You'll fucking suck at first, but you'll get better each one.It you're going to start painting don't do it by hand. Use spraypaint. It's cheap. Graduate up to an airbrush once you're ready.
>>17145715It's probable that it's a small number of people. There are far more than 118 posters in these generals, though.
>>17145750...wait a minute, didn't we just reached a bump limit?
>>17145750>There are far more than 118 posters in these generalsNo, not really at all. A lot of ISPs have a thing called dynamic IPs. Also there's a good number of phone posters here, which will change IPs on the go. Those all add up to the posters count.
>weathering a kit outside of a diorama/major centerpiece for what purpose
>>17145805Preferences, personally I like mine clean.
>>17143797isnt that due to a lack of communication between the anime staff and the gunpla engineers and they thought that it was an upgrade without realizing it'd go back to using the mace?
>>17145800so it's about the same 12-15 dipshits all circle jerking over their self-imported picasso'd p-bandai HG with red flame decals? yeah sounds about right.
>>17145006going to assume its the version thats been released there chief.
Whats a good place to start when getting into custom builds? i have a guntank that i've been saving that i probably want to customise but aside from that i'm not really sure of where to go with custom builds. at the moment i'm just panel lining snap builds and cleaning them up to a decentish degree.
>>17145881Get two really cheap kits, from the same series is recommended, and think of a way to bash them without considering the difficulty.Next find the tools you needs, including nipper, epoxy putty, drills, saw, plaplate and etc. Finally, try to put the part you want into where you want. If you can't do so, it's a good time to bullshit your way using all the aforementioned tools until the pegs and joints are compatibles. You have to figure how yourself by testing bits by bits. Plapate and epoxy are very flexble tools to those bullshits.Don't mind if the end result is faulty, but try to finish it anyway you can, as it you give you a good starting points. Once you're done, you will start seeing a way to customize betters.
How do gaia and mr hobby compare? Where do you buy gaia in NA?
If I want to hand paint details onto my kits, like decals/designs, what is best at that? Acrylic, lacquer, surely not enamel?
>>17145941Acrylic will give you easier time, though you can do with Lacquer just fine. Enemal is fine, it's not as hard as you think. Just experiment and do you. Videos and guides will give you a good idea, but you'll find everyone has their own developed techniques and paint ratios.
>>17140175Where is a good place to buy the human models in the US?
>>17145954What type, scale, and form you looking at with this question?
>>17145965Just looking for human anime model kits of any kind.
>>17145954I got mine from amazon, but pretty much all human models are unfortunately female
>>17146191I'm cool with the ladies.I'm finding some for 15 which is nice. Is there a site for such figures? Browsing Amazon can be a pain. Best to find elsewhere and search on Amazon.
>>17146198Which ones did you find? Stuff like fags are in 40-80 USD range and are pretty decent. The Gunpla line of girl are pretty bad, but if you're willing to take the effort to paint then they become slightly less bad.
>>17146191>got mine from amazon>not THE amazonCome on, step it up.
>>17144946Obviously. Actually, it's my favourite.
>>17144878I've only watched a handful of series and kind of just got the main plotpoints and stuff through osmosis over like a year of lurking on /m/.
>>17144618Not bad anon, that's a decent build/paintjob.
>>17145029I bought my first kit 2 years ago, snapped that together, then decided I'd paint my next kit. Obviously that didn't work out as well as I had hoped (see pic related), but it was fun. My next kit turned out a lot better and by now I feel I'm pretty good a painting.I'd like to point out that removing nubmarks and reading up before blindly jumping in are not advanced techniques or something. Get rid of nubs on your first kit, it's easy as hell and take almost no effort.>Why are my pictures sideways?4chan strips EXIF data from images when they're uploaded to the website from your phone, including the orientation display tag. To solve this, save your images out separately, or use an app that will rotate and save the image itself for you.One commonly used app that works well on Android:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobilephotoresizer
>>17145081>>17145091>>17145066There's literally hundreds of guides on how to remove nubmarks on the internet. Read the guide, google it, or use youtube they will all provide you with detailed ways of how to remove nubs.Start off by getting decent tools. Buy hobby nippers (doesn't even need to be expensive ones), get a small hobby file and some 1000 grit sandpaper. 1. Cut the piece of the runner but leave parts of the gate.2/3 Cut down the nubs, but leave a little bit sticking out.4/5 File the nub away so that it's flush with the surrounding plastic.6. Use sandpaper to smoothen out the surface (1000 grid should be fine)7/8. No more nubs and no horrible gouges in the plastic. It's simple, it doesn't take long and you don't need to make a huge investment. A pair of decent nippers is a must to begin with building gunpla.
>>17145715I'll tell you this anon. I'm pretty sure I'm one of those people you call asshats and that you think I'm some kind of retarded troll. What you don't know is that I'm also one of the people posting a lot of their work in these threads, contributing and helping out people with questions as much as possible. You might think that all I'm interested in is "baiting people" and "shitposting", but that's not true. I'd like my little thread to do a bit better and that means you have to set a bar sometimes. As I said earlier in this thread; It's not about fucking up and producing horrible kits. It's about the attitude with which people post them. A guy who posts a sideways picture of a nubridden kit then demands we give him praise and gets mad when confronted with any criticism, should be chased out as fast as possible. A guy who posts the same picture but asks for help, understands he did something wrong and takes advice/feedback to heart are the kind of people who get helped and who deserve patience. So yeah I know you are eager to place everyone into a labeld box and that you want to marignalise complaints by pretending that there are "just a few of trolls", but I think you'll find that a much larger part of our little community sometimes just doesn't want to take shit.
>>17145259>>17145290>>17145294While I'm still not happy with some of the paintjob, I do think it looks striking. Can I ask, what paint are you using?
>>17145805It's fun to do. I care more about the process than the final result honestly, and calling it quits after a simple recolor isn't interesting
>>17146391Not that anon, but what's your opinion on using a hobby knife to remove nubs? I could go out and buy a pair of decent nippers but I was wondering if using a hobby knife would help me produce the same results, in which case I wouldn't need to buy nippers.
>>17146512Personally I don't like using a hobby knife, but theoretically you can achieve the same result. I hear plenty of people using hobby knifes, but that's not for me. I get the job done with my nippers in no time at all.You DO need nipper anyway to remove the pieces from the runners properly so get nippers anyway. You can always buy a hobby knife aswell.

>>17146512There's constantly pictures here of people gouging their kits with knives, and even two anons who cut their fingers pretty good. One took a huge chunk out of it that never healed properly. Just get good nippers if you can.

>>17147307I don't understand how people injure themselves either. Maybe it's because I've gotten used to cutting fruit in this way, but I'm able to cleanly slice off nubs with an xacto aimed towards myself

>>17139147Are Gundam markers worth it? I'm shit at painting
>>17147568They're OK for panel lining if you aren't gonna topcoat since they won't eat the plastic but they're shit for painting larger surfaces
>>17147568The only way to get good results from a gundam marker is to pour out the paint and use a brush and at that point you might as well be buying paint
>>17147568They're fucking trash. Just get Tamiya Accent if you're fully painting kits or Mr Weathering Color if you're just going to snapshit and top coat.
Are there any specific decals for this thing? I just came off building a p40, and yeeting a shitty b25j out the fucking window into the woods. I thought about just getting standard zaku stuff for it, but idk if 0083 had anything special going on with them. Also the white made me think of maybe doing it up like a finish nazi, or winter war kinda thing. Could go with nazi bot and the commies.Thoughts?
Thought there'd be more plastic in the Figure Rise Ultraman for 45 but I guess that's fine since a stand and poster is included.
>>17147587I just wanted a good alternative to painting since I don't have study hands
>>17147598>I thought about just getting standard zaku stuff for it, but idk if 0083 had anything special going on with them.Nah 0083 was before the Katoki greeblefest era so none of the suits have markings out the ass like later series.
>>17147358>calling anyone who posts pics a snap buildershut the fuck up dipshit
Is it completely necessary to prime a part before painting it?
>>17147802It's a good rule to follow because there's no guarantee the paint will stick onto the part otherwise, and primer shows imperfections in the model for you to go back and smooth out before painting it.
>>17147802>>17147812Also priming before hand will give you the color you want and more evenly
>>17147812Another question. Is it possible to prime with a hand brush, and should I?
>>17147826Yes, you may not get as even of a coat though.
>>17147829Thanks! What should I use as a primer in that case?
This is my basic idea for the momokapool, what else should I do other than add scribe lines, and lengthening some parts. (legs, fingers)
