pretty much. I've been searching for a higher quality version but I'm pretty sure there is none. were it not for the youtube upload this could have ended up as lost media.
>>
>>17020045
I came across a torrent listing on deadfrog from way back in 2006 which is probably where the youtube upload + google site came from, but that's all gone now. There really needs to be a better archival effort wrt to Yokoyama's work.

Just ordered a probably shitty Chinese recast of this, anybody got any good ideas for a paint scheme?
>>

Maschinen Krieger has always fascinated me. Every design is so raw, clunky, brutal. It's the most unique mecha design I've ever seen.

It also seems completely unapproachable. All I can do is admire the designs. The kits are far too high in skill level for me to ever attempt one and all the cool backstory is in japanese and I'll never be able to read it.

>>17022294
This. Wish there was something like an OVA or two set in the setting.
I wonder whether the hollywood which was announced a while ago is ever going to be made.

the paint scheme is mr color grey green base, german grey joints, hull red for the chest and plates and a sepia acrylic wash over the whole thing to give it a desert sand tone.
>>
>>17022294
the kits arnt that hard especially the 1/20 wave kits. if you can do some basic seam welding youll be fine. and if you want to learn how to paint in the style look up Lincoln wright on youtube

That looks excellent anon, glad to hear the recast is good, in that case I might even snag a second.

Right now I'm thinking about a Starship Troopers-inspired paint scheme.

Hobbysearch still has the S.A.F.S.Lycopeneger limited gacha 2 pack in stock for 1600yen, its pretty much all you will find now that the kow yokoyama world box sets are sold out. Its worth it just for the decal set.

Looks like the molds have been significantly improved, there's no longer the divots on the inside of the legs, and the detail looks really sharp.

Anyone have any more of the 'Eerie' style of image from Ma. K? There's something wierdly horrific about machines like this one. It's the same odd fear I get from Star War's Probe Droids. The older style of photography only adds to it.

So is this all just model kits? No novels, no manga?
>>
>>17046740
There is a book called ma.k in action bandee dessinee that's all illustrations. It's sort of a manga where they tell a story but it's more like snippits of scenes featuring the Mecha. The story setting is actually told kinda like dark souls where you have to read the cards that come with the models to get a complete story.

The same could be said for Kobayashi and Kondo but here we are.
>>
>>17025077
As >>17025087 said.
>sometime in 1986 Hobby Japan issued an injunction against NITTO, forcing them to halt production of their kits. As typical with licensing disagreements in Japan, information on how or why this happened isn’t easy to track down, but a dispute over ownership of SF3d seems to be at the center of the breakdown. With SF3d material no longer appearing in Hobby Japan and merchandise disappearing from store shelves, the creators moved on.
>In the early ‘90s, Nitto was able to rerelease SF3d kits under a new name — Maschinen Krieger ZbV 3000.

They are much cheaper on Mandarake. I hate to break it to you but one of that exact figure just sold on there 2 days ago for 6k yen. In the last week 3 of the 1/16th Sentinel Maschinen Krieger SAFs figures have been listed on there. The one you posted, a colorless fireball for 6k and the screaming skull (pic related) for 12k yen (which I bought). I've been camping out Mandarake's Maschinen Krieger section a lot lately looking for certain other kits, if any more of the sentinel figures go up i'll post the links in here.
