I didn't get that specifically but the Ironwood Designs furniture I got took a few months or so, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Anything he has in stock already without having to make to order arrives in about a week or two, I found this out the hard way when I accidentally cracked my first upper handguard and had to buy another.

There is a grand total of 1500 people in my town and I live in the middle of nowhere. I dont think I would get enough business to keep a licence. I hate that place, I'm the only guy younger than fifty to step into it and the only semi auto guns they have are m1911s. The only time I go there is for transfers. The last two guns I bought in another state because I had a conference in the same city as a big gun store.

Don't bother. Now if you were getting a WBP, that would be a little more worth it as the barrels are chrome-lined. AKs are very overpriced right now. Unless you're getting a WASR or WBP, disregarding the ZPAP. A lot will argue that even the WASRs and WBPs are overpriced.

PSA is alright, but hasn't been extensively tested as much. WASRs/RH10 have hit 10k comfortably. Only thing you'll worry about after that (around 20k rounds to my knowledge) is a new barrel. And at that point you've already put 4000$ worth of ammo through it.
>>
>>42020103
Not that anon, but I don't see AK prices going down any time soon (honestly probably never unless something drastic happens). You can thank sanctions+Arsenal for the current AK prices. They've shown that people are willing to pay 1500$ for a standard stamped AK, so pretty much anything new to the market import wise will be around 1k. People will buy it so why would they ever lower the price?

If Trump gets reelected and American-made competition gets good, maybe. Otherwise, no. I bought a WASR last year because I saw this coming. I paid $600, and I still think it was a pretty shit deal. A WASR should cost $500 - $550. The finish is absolute dogshit, and they're straight up not worth what they're going for. Get a kit build or an Arsenal at that point.

Nah the steel is fine, they're just overgassed. Most replace the recoil spring with a wolff xp or an alg, some go as far as modifying their gas piston.

I love my NPAP but I agree 800 is overpriced, hopefully they'll come down to at least 700 to be on par with WASRs and WBP foxes.

You know what, I'm gonna say it. This thread generally accepts AKOU's stuff as being reputable, and Rob gave the GF3 PSAK a pretty glowing review. The only thing was the retaining pin, which was fixed. Someone prove me wrong, I'm becoming retarded.
>>

Yep, I got six of them. They come in light oil, but you can get it off really easily. One thing to note is that the follower is polymer. It doesn't really affect function, but they're technically not "milspec."

NPAPs had overgassing issues. OPAPs didn't and there's really no reason to assume ZPAPs will, honestly. Some have made the argument that Zastava QC was so bad with the NPAPs because of Century's pricepoint. IDK if that theory holds water but I have a "wait and see" attitude regarding the ZUSA stuff.
Also Atlantic ALWAYS charges more than other retailers. We know this.
IMO street price for these is gonna stabilize at just a bit above WASR prices, which IMO is what they're worth as someone who owns an NPAP and WASR.

Every single person pointing out flaws in the rifle BobSled tested was also putting out legitimate, verifiable criticism bud, just like everyone who pointed out that the GF3 uses the same dogshit proprietary rear trunnion as past PSAKs that had a litany of documented issues.

The metallurgy is shit and the rifles aren't made to ComBloc spec, and that makes them bad guns.
>>
>>42027884
I don't see why anyone'd pay more for a ZPAP than a WASR considering a WASR takes standard furniture and comes with an objectively superior barrel.
>>
>>42028113
>Objectively superior
This is debatable, depending on what you want out of your barrel, considering the Serb barrels are beefier and still extremely well-made, but I do agree with you that the WASRs big selling points over Yugo rifles is chrome-lining (though again I don't think this matters as much as people think it does in this particular case, particularly if you're not running the gun full-auto like BFLV does) and the fact that as an AKM-pattern rifle it has a bigger aftermarket.
Though again, the aftermarket for Yugos is a LOT better than it was 5 years ago, shockingly so in some ways. Pretty much the only thing that isn't readily-available for Yugos that is for other AKs anymore is cheap, abundant surplus furniture (and that's gotten much harder to find for AKMs than it used to be)
And again, my NPAP is an all-around better-built, nicer gun than my WASR is, and I'll bet I've got more rounds through both of them than most people on /akg/ have through their guns, which is orders of magnitude more than your average normie dipshit shoots.

I paid $500 for my NPAP, and no, I wouldn't pay $800 for what looks like the same damn gun. Like I said, I'm hoping the prices will stabilize downward a bit and I DO think your average normie WOULD probably pay more for a ZPAP than a WASR, they're the target market and desu a lot of people will still swear up and down that WASRs are junk.

>"Yeah I'm pretty sure these are all US-made" (said like this is a good thing)
>Someone confirms they are

He didn't though. His recommendation came with a fat fucking asterisk where he said it's flat-out not as good as European AKs and you should know what you're buying. He essentially gave it a D-: it passed, but barely, and only because Rob decided the fucking gun breaking didn't mean it failed for some reason.
>The only thing was the retaining pin, which was fixed.
Yes or no: did a fucking integral part of the gun that should require a punch for dissassembly fall out during a field strip?
>I realize that a WASR would probably be able to go through a few thousand more rounds than the GF3
Try "tens of thousands"
>but the GF3 is cheaper
1) not much cheaper
2) that pricepoint comes at the cost of a ton of corner-cutting in production.
>has better fit and finish.
lmfao tell that to all the guys who got guns with toothpick-shimmed handguards because the furniture didn't fit and PSA didn't think/care that they'd take it apart. No, WASR finish isn't good (you can fix it in 2 hours with a $10 can of appliance epoxy) but the fit is adequate, and again, it's a mil-spec gun, which a PSAK is NOT.

Bud I WANT PSA to make a good AK. I WANT an affordable, WASR (or better) quality US-made AK. But we don't get that by making excuses for companies who don't make guns the proven way and pretending it's fine (or better than the real thing).
I say it every time I comment on this subject:
PSA ARs are good (or adequate at least) because they make them to mil-spec.
PSA AKs aren't good because they don't make them to mil-spec.

There's an easy solution: make the guns to mil-spec. But they aren't and won't while retards by wallhangers and make excuses.
>>

>>
>>42029306
I appreciate you actually discussing it like a non-retard first of all. In his vid rob used the word "excellent" and awful lot for someone who allegedly gave the gun a "D-". He even said at the end that he didn't doubt it could take another 5000 rounds. Again, I'm not saying that the gun is better than a wasr or worth purchasing over a wasr, but I think it deserves more respect than it gets, and I'd even say that its pretty damn good compared to what US companies have spit out before.
>>
>>42029407

>>
>>42029407
>LMFAO he underlined "entry level" AND slammed their QC
Yeah he says, in your pic, that its a very attractive entry level AK in the US market. The WASR is also a very attractive entry level AK. I never ever said that the PSAK is like a polish or bulgarian AK, i never even said it was as good as a WASR. But it deserves more respect than you retards give it and for a US made AK it does pretty well.

What he SAID was
>If PSA will watch QC and not rush it, this will remain a very attractive ENTRY LEVEL option on USA market.
>if PSA will watch QC and not rush it
Yeah PSA is famous for their QC, right?
And again, he emphasized "entry level." He's hedging his language.
Listen to how he talks about the WASR in these videos:
https://youtu.be/MfUOfDcLX0I
https://youtu.be/kJn6SYFbHSw
https://youtu.be/S2-7wvIQHFY
https://youtu.be/qenoQ_U0oo0

Do you HONESTLY think he thinks this are comparable guns? That they're in the same category quality-wise even though they're at a similar price point?
>>
>>42029482
>But it deserves more respect than you retards give it and for a US made AK it does pretty well.
>For a US made AK it does pretty well
See how you're hedging your language and making excuses for the gun?
Being King Shit of Turd Mountain does not entail respect.
Until it can hang with the real thing it will get trashed and people that cape for it will get trashed.
WASRs have shitty finish and rough actions out of the box, but performance and durability-wise they're literally on the same level as (or better than in some cases as BFLV and AKOU keep proving) "nicer" AK variants.
An out-of-the-box PSAK looks nicer hanging on the wall than an out-of-the-box WASR. And if that's what you care about that's fine: most normie shooters feel that way.
You're not gonna win over AK autists with the same argument though.

If you have a Saiga now already, I'd say don't bother unless you're rounding out a collection. If you don't, try Armslist or pawn shops in your area for something around 700. If you can't find anything try to weasel them down to 800 or 775 because you're not guaranteed to find a 700-800 dollar saiga once they all truly dry up.
>>
>>42029762
Only other 7.62x39 Saiga in my area is in a pawnshop. It's also unconverted, has RAILZ all over the handguards, rust on the trunnions (lmao I think I'm the only person who'd stripped it since it got pawned), and they wanted $950 for it.

That said it'd be my 5th AK and I only want it for the novelty of "muh Russian" and I'd chop the barrel (both are 20") put an AKM FSB and GB and some nice laminate. I'd consider trying to do a AK103 build with it but for the time abd effort to convert the rear trunnion I'd be better off either just buying an SLR107FR or doing a Khyber Pass kit build if that's how I wanted to go.

I don't mean
>lol you're gonna have to refinish it now!
I mean
>You've compromised the molecular structure of that wood using caustic chemicals

it'll dry eventually, who knows how long. You'll want to be sure it's pretty damn dry before putting a finish on it. Imagine filling a cup full of mineral spirits and setting it out to dry on its own, yeah going to take awhile

The issue isn't that it's wet.
It's that he soaked it for 24 hours in fucking turpentine, the chemical used to strip finish from wood and metal.
Basically the fucking equivalent of leaving it exposed to sun and rain for 20 goddamn years.
>>
How can I tell if the wood is fuck? I'll throw it up on eBay.

I'm really curious as to how you think this would work, or what you think cosmoline is made of
I have a heavy suspicion you dont know the main ingredient is wax

plenty of techniques to remove cosmo from wood, soaking is kind of bad though. Best bet with cosmolined covered wood is to take a preservation approach, removing cosmo and maintaining finish.. ie no solvents. If you want to completely strip it down I'd use one of those thickened paint strippers so you don't have a ton of solvent making its way into the wood. Not fucking with wood too much is the best approach

i cleaned mine a few weeks ago and used mineral spirits and a nylon brush and rags to just rub it onto the wood and loosen the cosmo

>I wouldn't hold my breath about it being g2g after a full-auto conversion.
Even if the there's no problems with trunnions/receiver I'm assuming it'll keyhole early like most American AKs but like I said I'm withholding judgement until I see results.

Grab some scrap wood and practice, it'll save you a lot of frustration. Manually applying takes some finesse

no i bought amber shellac in a can, stripped my furniture as much as i could with acetone and put red mahogany stain on for like 20 seconds and wiped. i think i just need to redo it with thinned shellac and a foam brush instead of a tiny paint brush.
>>
>>42032398
Check the can to see what # cut the shellac is, I wouldn't recommend going lighter than #2. The foam brush works well, better than a brush in my opinion. If you need to clean up any runs denatured alcohol dissolves the shellac, use sparingly. When applying go one direction, make one pass. Dont let the foam brush run dry, but also try not to load it up.

where you order from?
Link?

Would surplus Romanian furniture fit on any non yugoslavian ak?

Would it fit on wpb or psak?
>>
>>42020135
a little over $2k for most steel
>>
>>42020135
you could use the same logic to buy a real AK. For a few hundred more, merely $0.015 per round fired, that's right less than two pennies a round, you can own an AK that doesn't feel like you're tongue fucking a faggot every time you open your safe. Great value
