Coasties just BTFO special forces all over the world
>you will never be this badass What's the point, /k/?
>>42014528Badass. I can't really tell but it doesn't appear his gear includes a life jacket. Dude was committed to get on/stay on that sub, I guess jump back off if it dived>>42014608I imagine it's more like a u-boat. Dive for limited periods of time as needed, but mostly just skim the surface
That's fucking awesome. Who and where?
>>42014528>17000 lbs of cocaineMomma Mia that’s a lot of nose candy
>>42014700It's likely one of the semi-submersible variants.See: http://www.hisutton.com/Narco%20Subs%20101.html
>>42014739It is a semi-submersible. They only have one or a couple patterns. Some ex-american and russian sub engineers devised the pattern and tooling over a decade ago and the narcos have been producing them en masse ever since. They're made of fiberglass and use cheap engines, and are effectively (in practice, literally) disposable.
>>42014755>costie yelling at boat>boat wont sit/stay>boat gets spankingBad boat....
>>42014830I feel like warning shots would've been appropriate at that point.
>>42014608Most homemade Colombian drug subs aren't safe to really submerge past a few meters. They might run submerged in high risk areas but usually they will just run the surface like this, submerged or not they still have a very small radar profile. Also I don't know what kind of ASW the average coast guard cutter has but I imagine that it would have turned out much worse for them if they tried to dive and run.
>>42014864They knew they wouldn't need them. From experience, they knew the threat of the weight of that coasties testicles threatening to sink the sub would be enough to force a surrender.
>>42014870They can't dive at all.
>>42014864...they're not atf anon, they don't just go around shooting boats
>>42014700He is almost certainly wearing a PFD. It's really small and out of the way when uninflated, looks like just another part of his harness, but it has a pressure gauge and a co2 canister. It can get wet and be fine but if the pressure gauge activates (at around a depth of 5 feet underwater) the co2 will trigger and the whole vest will explode out into a full lifejacket. We used them on commercial ships because they are a lot smaller than regular life jackets and completely out of the way unless you need them. Sometimes the sensor or the co2 will malfunction or the pull tab will get stuck on some part of the ship though and the vest will blow up accidentally. It makes pretty good entertainment after 2 weeks at sea when your buddy just randomly blows up next to you.
>>42014913Well I'm the guy you replied to and that is fucking neat. Thanks for the info
Why didn't the guy in the sub open the hatch with an Uzi and blast away the coast guard dudes?
>>42017901Probably because he's just some poor bastard from central america trying to make money, can't afford a gun, and wants to stay alive
>>42017901then what? the support ships just fuck off and leave him? retard
>>42017901Because then the CG stop playing
>>42017901This isn't a Killdozer scenario it's just an average Tuesday for Fernando.
>>42017901I imagine they'd just shoot the fiberglass body and let you have a watery death
>>42017901because one round into that paper mache semi sub, and they're dead.
>>42014528>narco sub>a big achievement.
>>42014528Any info on the sub? Is that some decomissioned old shit or niggerrigged DIY?
>>42018113nigger rigged u boats made out of fiberglass and truck engines
What stops cartels from acquiring a rusted Kilo? Even Pepsi had a Russian fleet at some point. One of these Best Korea mini subs would be also fine.
>>42017932I imagine they would panic and break off.
>>42018156First they couldn't run itSecond it'd be instantly sunk
>>42017901They don’t want to kill anyone, they just wanna deliver the drugs and get paid.
>>42018156Unironically nothing but the CIA.It almost happened.
Cool raids on narco boats in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean? Cool raids on narco boats in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zQibO-a138
>>42018156Pepsi had Russian scrap
>>4201471815000 pounds of cocaine? Holy shit. 13000 pounds is a lot of cocaine. I don't even know if I'd be able to store, let alone move and sell 11000 pounds of narcotics
>>42018341The Sinaloa Cartel oversees a logistical network that is as sophisticated, in some ways, as that of Amazon or U.P.S. — doubly sophisticated, when you think about it, because traffickers must move both their product and their profits in secret, and constantly maneuver to avoid death or arrest.
>>42014870>submerged or not they still have a very small radar profile.This.At visual range they cannot hide but beyond that they're pretty sneaky.>>42018156They lose these subs all the time, it's not worth it to get a huge one. Cheap, numerous and fast is the way to go, manned by some poor desperate people preferably.
>>42014528>be on boat>jump on other boat>you just took a shit on special forces all over the worldnot really. it wasn't even that fast moving. it's cool, but not special forces cool.also>HALTO TU BARCA>HALTO TU BARCA>AHORA>AHORA>HALTO TU BARCAlike he's a traffic cop or something. it's in the middle of the atlantic, and the guys are in a fucking submarine. they don't hear shit.
>>42018420It's for legal reasons
>>42018411They're straight up disposable. They're made on expedient tooling designed over a decade ago that can be used in the middle of a jungle, loaded down with as much coke as is physically possible, sent northward, offloaded, and sunk at the end. One time use.
>>42018426>legal reasonsThe most incompetent lawyer in the world can still tell the jury that you can’t hear shit when you’re inside a submarine out at sea.
>>42014528Overstatement, but the US Coast Guard does most of what another country's navy would do.
>>42018451You still have to make the attempt
>>42014528Where do these drug boats end up if they successfully make it?
>>42014528So that shit happened almost a month ago, why don't they release news on what kind of sub and contraband it was? maybe it was just the private submarine of some dude from cuba.Where did it happen? How close to the shore? What was inside the submarine? How did they even get it, why was it surfaced? And what was inside?
>>42018506Are you retarded
>>42018511Yeah kinda, why?`What am I missing?
>>42018503Operation Odessa. They got close enough to have guys inside the sub pen checking out the sub they were gonna buy.Glowniggers got in the way.The 90s were a hell of a time.
>>42018513Every single one of those questions was answered in the same articles that showed this footage off a day or two ago.
>>42018521The only article I've read only said what's happening in the video.
>>42018513It's a narco semi submersible boat running from anywhere in central america to the US. They're not going to release details of when/where because that's opsec. Cocaine was inside the sub. The CG receives intel from a million agencies and foreign countries telling them where/when narco boats departed from and are heading.
>>42017901He's some bottom rung cartel kid they pulled off a farm somewhere and they told his ass to get in the sub at gunpoint. He's probably relieved.
>>42018341But the Coast Guard makes some serious props for intercepting 8000 lbs of cocaine.
I'm honestly not impressed. They're not Spetsnaz, but they're more competent than your standard cop.
>>420185785,000lbs of cocaine is a great haul, much better than what my local P.D. does on the interstate.
>>42018584Coast Guard had some advantages over regular army that makes some hardasses choose to serve there, rather than in the Army. I think one was not getting sent to a desert on the other side of the world.
>just fucking punch the subCoasties are such Chads holy shit.
>>42014830>UwU spank me coastiet. boat
>>42018461The Coast Guard could probably defeat Canada's Navy on its own.
>>42018723fuck man even the chuggs could defeat the RCN
>>42014528>Pirates of the Caribbean theme plays in the backroundIt's cool that the coasties actually managed to capture this semi submersible. The standard operating procedure for these narcos is to scuttle the sub and surrender to the coast gaurd when they start to close in. Destroys the evidence that way. I wonder why this procedure wasn't followed, did the coasties sneak up on them or did they think that their motorized bathtub could outrun the coast gaurd?Either way, neato.
>>42014913also fun to yank your buddies tab to make him blow
>>42018639Yeah, 3500 is the highest amount to enter this evidence locker, truly a landmark.
>>42018801Man can you guys imagine what 2000 pounds of cocaine is worth?
>>42019000I swear we registered 750 pounds back then. Or was it less?
>>4201901150 pound bust is pretty substantial
>>42018108Oh you're right, embezzling govt. Funds and murdering the guy who found out, then covering it up as an attempted rape is so much better.Or leaving a wounded man behind and then trying to block his Medal of Honor after we fought for an hour alone.
So if these narco people transport 18 fucking tons of coke with these things, they must have a shitload of money. Why not spend more money on their subs? Why not make a sub that can actually dive? With a radar, so you know when there's coasties coming? I've heard this fucking thing wasn't even a sub, it was just a low profile boat
>>42018156The Russians ships were all slated to be sold for scrap, it only existed on paper at that point.
>>42018451Hence why they boarded the sub, opened the hatch and then yelled it.
>>42019306Too bad they got away, it was a close call.
>>42019341Coke is cheap to produce in third world shitholes. Good submarines are expensive no matter where you are.
>>42014528How the heck do they find these things? Do we have some kind of coastal sonar/listening system that tracks boats with irregular paths or behavior?
>>42019366do you have any idea how much 18 tons of cocaine are worth? if they sell those amounts, they can afford a better submarine.
>>42017901Because that's a really good way to get your sub sunk.
>>42018506You complete fucking moron
>>42019442I love you too anon
>>42018341I know a guy who could move that in a week.
>>42019381Do YOU have any idea how much it costs to keep an illegal operation going? It's not pure profit.
>>42019381And then that better submarine would be scuttled at the end of the run just like these are. They make these because THEY CAN MASS PRODUCE THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF A FUCKING JUNGLE and sink them off the US coast without batting more than an eye or two when they're done making their run. They dont have one or two of these, they've been making them continuously for over a decade.
>>42019374Idk how you guys do it, but here in Mexico the navy uses drones to patrol the coast. When a suspicious boat is spotted, they interdict it like here >>42018272
>tfw you try to buy a Russian submarine to smuggle cocaine.
>>42018661>Applicable training>Actually directly help and defend America and her citizens >Branch doesn't treat you like disposable shit >Good working hours Got called a fag for going from 11B to MES but its a million times better than fucking around in Afghanistan.
Wtf I love the coast guard nao
>>42019364Dont forget that you guaranteed getting a 5 lb cocaine bust this week. Not sure how many people you'll catch with 10lbs on them
>>42018341I see what you're doing.

>>42018156Because it's safer to me in a home(I mean "jungle") made semi-sub made out of cardboard, fiberglass and rubber glue than it is to be in a Russian military submarine.
>>42018272>Mexican vs Americants!>Dude hanging over the water from chopper!Holy shit, these guys are better than SEALS
>>42019731I have another one, what happens to the poor guys in the boat? I imagine there's one or two cartel enforcers on board to make sure the boat gets where it needs to be, but the captain and his crew are probably some poor central american fishers. Do they spend 30 years in prison in the US? Do they get deported to wherever they're from?
>>42019766No, they don't put anyone else on the boat that isn't completely expendable. If they mysteriously "lose" the cargo the cartels will just kill people in their family. So that cargo gets mysteriously lost. They'll likely spend a few years up in the US, before being sent back home. Inwhich they'll get picked up by the Cartel again and put in another boat.
>>42019364>mission failed. We'll get 'em next time.
>>42014913>It makes pretty good entertainment after 2 weeks at sea when your buddy just randomly blows up next to you.My sides
>>42019766probably just deported back to whatever country they come from. I doubt the US can actually hold them for more than a year.
>>42019618What's the training like for the Coast Guard? Do you have to have a highschool diploma to enlist?
>>42018420Get a load of this bootlicker.
>>42019621>skoalHonestly, I would rather eat the crayons. Cope is where it's at.
>>42018506That dude has big arms too
>>42019798>bootlickeryou don't know what that means. or you do, i don't know. either way you're retarded.
>>42019766Keep an eye out in the rekt threads for their families.
>>42019766They get arrested and jailed (in America) for drug smuggling for 20-30 years and then shipped back to their own country. These guys are usually just farmers or otherwise pawns. They won't dare steal the boat or drugs because their families will get murdered. Plus they wouldn't even know where to go and how to sell it.
>>42019766How are they doing so far, dumbass?>>>42019781 >>42019792 >>42019868 >>42019872Any more questions? Like maybe what is the best color scheme for the boat's interior?
>>42019858I think I know what he means, generally military tough guys like to jerk themselves off, and their loads often land on their boats. Then you come along and lick to jizz off their boats.AmI right? Have I pegged you? Faggot.
>>42019882>dumbassmy mum told me there's no stupid questions :(
>>42019904Stop it you fucking schizo, all I did was saying that they just jumped from one boat on another boat. That's not exactly the same as killing Osama Bin Laden in a nighttime raid, is it?God you people are horrible
>>42019592Soooo do they scuttle the crews too?
>>42018156Most boats end up getting captured no matter what the cartels do. The only reason the drugs get through at all is saturation.
>>42018175lmao there would be 17000 pounds of ruined cocaine at the bottom of the ocean with a few dead mother fuckers inside it
>>42020452>Scuttle every coke sub you find>Entire ocean is now Coca-ColaNice
>>42018341>>42018578>>42018639>>42018801>>42019000>>42019011>>42019306it took me way too long to get the joke , thanks for bringing it home
>>42014528>>42014700>>42014870if you or anyone else has questions about what the coast guard does. AMA. our branch is insane. and or rules of engagement are so crazy. and our jurisdiction is huge. some people could almost articulate our authority to be unconstitutional
>>420216281) What do you do and why did you join?2) What sort of things does the CG do that most of the general public might not think about?3) How does the CG differ from other service branches
>>42021628How much cocaine does the average coast guardie pocket from each subDoes the coast guard drug testThat is all
>>42014528I used to make fun of coasties because of Chris Costa faggot, but this admittingly cool as hell.
>>42015371Happy to help.>>42018787Yeah, on my ship though if you caught intentionally detonating a PFD then they made you wear one of those giant orange life jackets for the rest of the voyage, which fucking sucked. So not a lot of that happened. Not only does the full size orange one completely get in your way but it makes you look like a muppet and all the guys will give you shit about it endlessly.I'm sure the PFDs the navy and coasties have were better than ours were though. It was pretty much company policy to never replace them until they failed so were were stuck with a lot of equipment that was years old and had a bad sensor or a faulty cartridge. So he had at least one dude blow up every time we were underway. I was lucky and got one of the good ones so I never blew up but one poor SOB blew up 3 or 4 times over a couple of months.>>42014945Hell it sure made standing the 4am watch a lot more interesting.
>>42018451Doesn’t matter. The announcement was made, and recorded. Prosecution will have a field day running your incompetent lawyer in circles, proving that you can’t hear shit in a fiberglass submarine at sea. He’ll be so bogged down calling expert witnesses to prove that 1 minor and inconsequential point that he won’t have time to defend his client from the possession and trafficking charges. Client gets 25 to life, lawyer gets a visit from the cartel party squad. They explain to him why he should stay focused on the case and not the trivial bullshit. The explanation is usually done with cordless power tools.
>>42014893That's cause they don't look like dogs.
>>42021628What are the requirements to join and how do I shoot at drug runners as fast as possible? Also any experience on those ice breakers you guys got?
>>42020413I mean not intentionally but it does happenI'd imagine they just become regular old illegal immigrants at that point
>>42021700Different coastie anon here, I'm an ME and I joined to get into federal LE. The general public tends to view the CG as a branch of rescue swimmers even though that's a small fraction of our branch. We deal with drug runners and migrants all the time, work with customs (coasties are designated customs officers when they have to be) and do a lot of operations worldwide, mostly training other countries. We even have a detachment in the middle east that sweeps containers. We differ from other branches mostly in that Posse Comitatus doesn't apply to us (LE afloat and ashore), you usually can choose where you end up billetwise, and you start as a nonrate E-3 until you go to your A school to get rated
>>42022787Dude, most of the population doesn't even know the Coast Guard is a branch.Real shit, I'm not even trying to be insulting. The general public by and large doesn't know a goddamn thing about you guys.
>>42021889Be under 30, be able to do 29 pushups and 38 situps under a minute, and run a mile and a half in under 12:50. Also can't be colorblind for most rates. If you want to do LE as fast as possible, go BM, but you'll be stuck doing a lot of other bullshit. I haven't deployed on an ice breaker but I've been on a bunch. The Healy is the nicest and newest, the Polar Star is falling apart, but they both go to cool places. Watch Sora Yori if you want to get hyped.
>>42020229There's no such thing as stupid questions, only questions with stupid answers.
>>42022841I know, that's fine. We tend to keep our heads down and try to stay out of the news. Our ASVAB requirements used to be pretty high, they're starting to drop them because we need more people. Used to need minimum 70 to be considered.
>>42022846Different anon here (Active duty army) . I comfortably exceed those standards. Would it be worth it to try to get in, being prior service?
>>42022978Depends on what you're trying to get out of it and what you want to do
>>42014528>tfw ywn hijack a cocaine filled submarine
>>42022978>Would it be worth it to try to get in, being prior service?Different anon here. When I was in, about 10% of the CG was prior service.
Man that green and tan camo really helps him melt into the surrounding rocks and foliage.
>>42021889>Also any experience on those ice breakers you guys got?Retired DC here. I did 6 south trips on an old icebreaker, back when we had 8 hulls in the red fleet. If you go any of the 3 engineering ratings, you’ll put in a lot of long days. Everybody winds up putting in a few 20 hour days sooner or later, that’s just the nature of shipboard life. The flip side is, you also hit patches where you’ve got a lot of time on your hands. Get good at playing D&D, have a few campaigns rolled up and ready to go, and have the books, screens, and dice. You won’t lack for players, and there’ll usually be a half dozen others just there to listen to the shenanigans. You’ll visit a lot of interesting places, drink unique and disgusting concoctions, and throw up on your shoes at least once. My only real memory of Trinidad-Tobago is of being crowd-surfed over a sea of smiling black faces until I landed in a taxi. A half dozen sweating black people the size of linebackers piled in with me, after which there was much shouting at the driver about getting me back to the boat. Next time I woke up, I was being carried onto the quarterdeck. New Zealand was weird, too. Go to club, get picked up by 18yo qt, go home with her, meet her parents, then spend the night with her loudly riding my cock. Next morning her parents thanked me for visiting and hoped I’d had a good time. That was the first time I saw beer in gallon jugs, too. If you’re going to join, look at all of the ratings. Decide which one best fits what you want to do. Haunt the forums for a while. It doesn’t hurt to pick a rating that gives you marketable skills.
