I heard of the PRISM sights, what is /k/ experience with Vortex Spitfire (1x) for example ? Does it work well ? Is it quicker to use than a x1-x6 optic ?

Wearing glasses/contacts and not turing your dot all the way and using it on only the lowest setting needed for the situations will let most people with an astigmatism use a red dot. Also poortex is a shit. Get a baby cog

I've shot both and I personally have a soft spot for 12.5", but /arg/ will shit on you for it. With the correct loads 12.5" will give you performance very close to 14.5" while having a more maneuverable package. Either option is good imo, they offer much better ballistics versus 10.5" with very little additional length.

>>
>>41744205
Also just going outside. So many people "with astigmatism" look through their dot indoors in their parents basement or in a shop where there's little ambient light, and get upset when their eyes get triggered by an incredibly high contrast point of light.

Go outside and assess your red dot before complaining you "have astigmatism"
>>
>>41744217
Doesn't make sense to me either. Could be that there just isn't a good lightweight 6-8x out there. 6x ACOG is 50% heavier than comparable 1-6x.

+1
Unless the argument is that there is some benefit to being able to dial the LPVO down to 1x and have a traditional cheek weld on 1x, but also have the ability to quick switch to the 1x of the red dot?

Any marginal benefit there though would seem to be outweighed by the cost savings, increased durability, and weight savings of just going with an Acog and offset/piggybacked (ash backed) red dot.

>>41744259
IMO the future will be really good LPVO with dank 1x and great 1x eye boxes for carbines, and then red dots with really good 4x magnifiers.

>>41744271
In your price range? Accupower 3-9x40 can be found new for $388. Bottom line is that if you were going to actually end up with a half decent mid tier optic ($500-$1000) it will take like 18 months before you actually buy it.

Holographic sights don't have this problem. Of whats currently on the market the EXPS 3-4 is the best option with 1 moa dots as its BDC aiming points, they stay true to 1moa under magnification and are good out to 600 meters.

Brainlet here. What parts do I need to complete a MARS-L lower? So far I have on the list, trigger, takedown and pivot pin, buffer tube kit, trigger guard, pistol grip. Is there anything else I need? Does it come with that little spring that you have to drop in before putting on the pistol grip?

You need the takedown pin detents, takedown pin detent springs, and safety selector detent, as well as safety selector detent spring. Plus buffer tube retainer and buffer tube retainer spring. IME the two MARS L lower builds I did needed a full LPK minus the mag release bits and the safety selector.

This works well:

>Takedown pins, springs and detents

>trigger guard and rollpin

The ambi magazine release and ambi bolt catch assemblies are complete.

I'd recommend getting a basic mil spec lower kit (Aero is good) to complete the thing just so you know you have all the bits you need and a few spares.

As far as special bits you need here's what I'd recommend as some of the best options currently.

BCM A5 Buffer Kit: this will come with all the buffer bits you need and the A5 is the best buffer option currently available, you may need a heavier buffer though.

B5 Aluminum Trigger Guard: this is one of the only enhanced trigger guards that still lets you use the swing down feature.

BCM grip: just pick the one you think is best for you they're all great.

Badger Ordinance Ambi Safety If you have the money to spend this thing is a great upgrade over the ambi safety provided by LMT it has a better weak side selector that won't dig inot your hand but can still be used, and has the option of 60 degree or 90 degree throw. i found 45 degrees to be to short of a safety throw but 60 is perfect.

Trigger: milspec triggers can work but I would recommend something nicer like the geissle triggers. I like the SSAE but pick whichever one is best for you, they're all good.

Upper came in an AR10 receiver set from Tactical Machining. I'm pretty sure though it is actually a Matrix Aerospace AR10 upper. They're the OEM for the Ruger 762, Diamondback, and some other budget AR10s. I did an AR10 build a while back using a Matrix Aerospace receiver set and it worked well. I had to modify the upper a little to make it work with the true SR25/MWS pattern LMT MARS H lower. The upper is a quasi SR25 pattern in that it is a DPMS barrel nut, DPMS high rail height, but slant cut rear.

Airshit larp status. What is genuinely practical is to keep your rifle and relevant accessories in a soft case that when in need you can throw entirely into a hard case that has had the foam removed.

>Radian
Should be fine, but you're spending a lot of dosh on looks and shit. Just get that Aero kit for $25 and throw on an A2 grip and be done with it.

I dont own some faggy bow or a baseball bat.
I do own a couple carbines thatll fit in a backpack, and any handgun i own ive got a belt holster for.
I guess i could lug a big ass hammer around but this seems fucking retarded when i have guns.

This might be honestly the only real reason not to buy one

>>41745088
It has the better FOV than everything in its class, and much better than the fucking poortex
Idk how many times this will need repeating, but you SHOULD be spending the same or more money on glass than your rifle
>>
>>41745298
Youll never convince them to spend more than $700 on an optic. Youll be lucky to get over $500

The fact that you’re a cheap nigger who can’t save money implies that you can’t make good, informed decisions when it comes to optics.

Your guns a piece of a shit bro

Reread and try again.
You sure you dont need those cheapo optics? This doesnt seem like the level of reading comprehension expected of someone making enough money to buy nice optics

Drop your pelican off a building and see how well it does in your soft case versus the foam.

While I normally hate wuggy too, its not wrong to practice clearing malfunctions because no gun '100%' reliable, and even if it is, your mags will most often cause a malfunction, and being able to clear it is good to know how to do. That said,
Fuck wuggy

A reticule is a pouch or purse. The only reason this is becoming an alternate spelling for "reticle" is because of massive misuse by people like you.

Very true

True, as that was the root cause of a malfunction I had this past Sunday. Mortaring your AR on the clock is a load of fun.

Do I need a stamp to buy a 14.5" barrel or is it only when putting the barrel into the receiver that I need a stamp?
