Show me your surplus K98. Here's mine, BNZ 1942 Russian capure; still accurate despite sitting in storage for 50+ years.
>>40549172fuck generals, posting milsurp K98s here
My k98. Still need a good strap. Still has marks even though it’s an RC. 1940

>>40549409Fugg forgot picture
BYF 43, not matching, has seen some shit but it's my first gun so I'm still fond of it
BCD '41, russian capture.Photo not needed, they all look the same.
tgf 50. Last of the 98ks. Many parts are spare from wartime production. Eagle on the bolt handle.

Any fags in WI wanna sell me one?
Got myself a Yugo capture a couple days ago. Haven't fired it yet but I ordered a shitload of ammo for this gal as well as a cleaning rod and sling. Debating on tracking down a bayonet or not
My Yugoslav capture K98. Very smooth and quite accurate actually.
>>40549317Putting your rifle in poison ive for a photo Shiggy diggy
Mine is a rarer conversion actually, glad I got it for $375 cash a month ago.
>tfw only have spanish knock off
Decent condition K98k that havent been fucked by someone are over 1000 Deutsch Marks now. :(

Yugo capture mid war. New barrel.
Steyr M95 used by my great gandfather in WW1. Question: how can I test if it is in original caliber? I am pretty sure it is, but all marking have been ground off so the S might have been erased.
>>40553302Just buy one at a flea market for $35 bro.
God k98s without the cupped butt plate look so ugly and plain.
>>40553880Good thing that's not a K98
>>40553884Make some sense you retard nigger.
I'm wanting a Wz 29. What should I ask for, and what should I expect? Dzięki
All these unmatching, raped and captured cuckrifles lmao.
>>40553732take pictures of the iron sights compare them to originals (I've one for reference If you need it) Or pop off the stock and check to see if there are any markings

>>40558313Color,finish,grain of the wood.
>>40558451It's been refinished. That is not an Israeli-made stock; they did not make laminate ones.
>>40558752>That is not an Israeli-made stock;it is.
>>40558752i don't believe it's even been refinished, the waffenwerke brunn factory was known for leaving out staining and sanding by late 1944plus it isn't smooth at all, it's rough and i can feel the grain of the wood, if that makes sense
>>40559092also, if you believe the handguard matches the stock, the handguard is marked "dot"
>>40553732Take a picture of the front sight and post it
I have what I think is a k98, but with the Brazilian coat of arms, chambered in 7mm. No pics on this pc and its too late to get them. Maybe tomorrow if anyone cares and I remember.
>>40559155Sounds like a Brazilian contract Vz-24 or a 08/34
>>40559174Yeah its been a while since I've looked at it but I seem to recall it has 34 or 08/34 somewhere on it.
What's with the copper finish on the extraction claw? What's it do?
>>40559122>>40559092never seen someone this upset over owning an Israeli weapon.
>>40554009>>40559143The front sight is unfortunately missing (however I am sure the rifle wasn't shortened). The length and sling mounts suggest it is a Stutzen.
>>40559695the "ST" is all that is left of the Budapest inscription

>>40559695>>40559697Slug the bore. Or try to measure the groves. 8x50R had a projectile diameter of .321, where the 8v56R had .330.

>>40559965and here are two 1944 dot rifles with different color and grain patterns:http://www.latewar.com/html/dot_rifle2.htmlhttp://www.latewar.com/html/dot_rifle1.htmlit would be more convincing to find an israeli k98k stock that matches mine (and is more clearly israeli). plus mine has no import stamp either, so i don't think the vet bring back thing is convincing me.also, that bcd4 is a different manufacturer and era of stockbe specific about why the grain and finish makes you think israeli, if you aren't just trolling, i'm interested

>>40561666If one could expose themselves as a 'know nothing' this would be the post.
What does this mean? The one of the left says "byf 41", the right says "dou 44". The one on left also has "5534" written in the stock by the bolt takedown ring.
>>40561970Byf and dou were the markings for the factories they came from. The double digit number is the year. The longer number the serial. This one is a freebie next time type your question into google first because this isn't secret knowledge.
>>40562407I was just looking for confirmation because I wasn't sure. I appreciate you answering.

>>40559174Brazilmauser here. Anyone care about pics? Its not a k98. Sorry for the dirty gun. I keep it in a safe now.

>>40554014That's from the Oberndorf plant, right? I'm a little rusty on the early war plant codes.

>>40560399From where? original rods are not $10.
>>40565157>inferior rimmed cartridgePeasant.
I've got 2>JP sauer 42 bolt mismatchthis one is really interesting since it's an actual depot rifle. Meaning it was damaged in battle and sent back to the war time depot for repair. The stock and bolt were replaced. Stock is not JPS and has been force matched. It's got the correct depot markings. >byf 44 matching
>>40568089This is the JP sauer boltThis is also the first time I've seen a rejection mark this small at the base of the bolt handle. The * indicates that the part was rejected. Most likely because of the faint machining marks on the bolt handle. After 43 many rejected parts were being used.
>>40568125The bolt also has a blood stain on it.
>>40568089Protip son, germans never marked the outside of the stock (butt) with a serial number.Only russians did this with russian captures. Why people on here so gullible?
>>40568137Pic of the top of the reciever of the JP.>>40568147You're absolutely right. That is definitely not what blood looks like on bluing. It's probably a wank stain. It's not uncommon to see blood stains or shrapnel on these rifles.>>40568181Clarification, matching barreled receiver.I bought it sported with the original stock cut. It's sitting in a RC Orbendorf stock until I find a good one.
>>40568202Litrelly all k98s have a matchng barrel/receiver even russian captures... what's your point? Also a k98 with a mismatched bolt loses hundreds in value FYI.
>>40568137motor oil stain.
>>40568218Byf has a matching bolt.Matching everything. Except stock.>>40568236Retard.
>>40568244>retardIt's not blood tho.. it's clearly motor oil stain or fuel used for cleaning.
>>40564851Yes. True mauser
My Yugo Capture K98k. Is there any way to tell who manufactured the receiver from these proof marks (pic related)? I haven't been able to find out who built at all since I got it 3 months ago. Also, does anyone know what is a good price on a numbers matching Czech postwar refurb K98k? It's in excellent condition and comes with cleaning rod, sight hood, and sling.
>OberndorfSomebody call?>>40568282Unfortunately the meanings of these little markings has been lost to time. Aside from really distinctive subcontractor markings (like the Gew.98 receivers made by Anciens Etablissements Pieper with the "Bayard" trade logo on the underside of the receiver ring) we don't have much to identify them. Ones with lots of Imperial-era crown-over-Fraktur-letter proofs can be assumed to be ex-Gew.98 receivers.
>>40568380I guess I'll never know then. I really want either a Gewehr 98 or a Karabiner 98AZ as my next gun. What's s good price for both of them, assuming very good-excellent condition?
>>40563696Post moar, Hue Mausers are pretty cool.
Non matching, 1944 Czech made with "dot" factory markings.
>>40563696>>40568580buenas dias mes amigos, como estas
I don't actually know any spanish. I don't think they even speak spanish in brazil, isn't it some abortion variant of portugese?
>>40549172I guess technically this is a surplus Mauser variant??
>>40569599btw, are these codes (on the barrel) manufacturer's marks? Tbch I don't know shit about Mausers, I just found this one on egun without even knowing what it was at first, just thought it looked cool
>>40551817Where can I find one? I'm in love.
>>40568458>What's s good price for both of them, assuming very good-excellent condition?VG – Excellent you're looking at $1000 minimum on the open market, unless you are very very lucky and patient. While they don't command similar prices to Kar.98k in equivalent condition (no Wehraboo tax) they are quite a bit rarer and thus still expensive.
Yes, I know it's "mutilated" or whatever word the historical purity autists are shouting these days.Still, it's a fun rifle. Nice enough that I kept this over my 1903A3 and 91/30 when I decided having multiple obsolete military bolt actions was pointless.
>>40570327"Pimp-shined" is the euphemism for what Mitchells does.
>>40570392Ah, that does sound like an A-rated boomer term.I picked it up from the trade-in rack at my LGS for $250 or somewhere around there. Worth it IMO for a solid, well made range rifle.
>>40565157The brits copied the Mauser 91 action for the p14...
>>40570608>the Mauser 91 action for the p14...More like the 93. 91 doesn't have the non-rotating claw extractor.
>>40570830The P14 uses a large ring receiver, while being cock on close. it's not an 1893, 1895 or 1898. It's a beautiful abomination.
>>40569599Please tell me that's something the Colombian's did and not Bubba...
>>40571123P14 also has helical locking lugs.Something like a 4 degree angle to them while Mauser rifles were only ever straight. It's funny that people are always saying other rifles were copies of Mausers when the Mauser brothers simply copied good features from other rifles themselves. They were actually sued over this.
>>40570408>$250>Worth it IMO for a solid, well made range rifle. For sure. I'm surprised they asked so little for them; most people seem to drink the Cool-Aid of Authenticity and believe that they're worth bring-back prices.
>>40571906That, my friend, is either a genuine Brazilian army or police surplus M968 "Mosquefal" ("Mosquetoon" + "FAL") rifle, which means a Mauser 08 or 24 rechambered for 7.62 Nato with FAL flash hider and G3 sights (because lol Imbel), OR it might be a high quality fake/repro of that. I consider both of those equally likely, and honestly, I don't care, because she shoots just fine.
Anyone know the best place to get a new stock for one of these? Some asshole cut the front end on mine down

>>405537328x50mmR is the original caliber, when they were converted the chambers were expanded to hold 8x56r. If an 8x56r won't chamber, most likely it is 8x50mm. Strangely enough 8x50mm is mostly popular in India these days.

>>40578971No here all all the remaining markings on the gun.
>>40581171oh yeah I got those exact same ones too. So maybe my rifle was manufactured by the Czecks for the Brasilians in the '00s or in the '20s, OR whoever made this clone went so far as to get the "real" source Mauser for the repro.I don't even know what to believe anymoer
