How are you celebrating the 101th Finnish independence day today on 6th of December?

The Unknown Soldier (2017) just got it's rights sold to North America so it will appear sometime soon to streaming services and stores. Maybe even smaller cinemas.
And over 5 hour TV movie mini series director's cut is starting in Finland.

Why are the mortars in these FDF pictures allways on a open area and away from any trees? Like on the backround of the picture you could find at least some cover from those trees over there. And yes, I understand that you can't fire a grenade through a tree branch, but you could place the mortar so that the tree is behind. I was told to take use of ANY cover and/or concealment I could find, no matter how small or insufficient it might be.

Finland permanently lost land, had to give money and industry away to USSR, and were forced to buy Soviet weapons throughout the post-war period. Worst of all if Finns elected somebody who wasn't seen as pro-soviet enough, Moscow forced you to redo the election

Japanese fans even gathered enough money to help the tank museum to build a roof to some of the tanks from the weather.

Oh no, how terrible! Your fighting men are already trained to deal with and use the equipment the enemy will litter the battlefield with

> permanently lose land
> pay reparations
That's what happens when you lose a war. Finland was the first and only country that paid their reparations in the full, and it allowed us to industrialize pretty fucking quickly.

> if Finns elected somebody who wasn't seen as pro-soviet enough, Moscow forced you to redo the election
Pro-soviet =/= soviet or communist though. Thanks to this and the rapid industrialization going on at the same time, we used to have a good, working Nordic welfare model.

It's good, but not suited for your inferior non-mongol palate, so you'll dislike it.
Buy some anyway. Salmiakki ice cream is the best.

Yes, it is the traditional finnish way to protect your guns in the winter by filling it up with ice cream.

Also, it's Sten. Who cares if it's full of ice cream. You won't shoot it, you will beat the enemy dead with the Sten.
