I just came to the realization that slide mounted optics are meme and the probability for the slide failing to cycle is high enough to make it pointless for reliability.

I just wanted a tactical pistol like video games, im not sure how to feel /k/
>>
>>39901961
>>
>>39901986
Slide mounted optics are aight. Though I personally prefer irons, small red dots don't affect reliability that much
>>
>>39901998
some other anons were posting in another thread about red dots being too heavy for the Glock MOS
>>
>>39901986
Red dots are just one more thing that can fail on a pistol, but I like to think the benefits outweigh the downsides.
Either way, Laugo came up with a solution.
>>
>>39902015
is that thing ever gonna come out?
>>
>>39902008
That's because Glocks suck.
>>
>>39902030
Lets hope CZ buys the design and maybe it’ll come out before we all hit retirement age.
>>
>>39902038
what optic ready carry pistol would you recommend then?

I liked the CZ-P10c trigger but grip was too small so maybe the CZ P10 F when it comes out?
>>
>>39902048
The FN 509 or the Mk 25 RX as well as the Beretta APX RDO.
Also the VP9OR if it ever comes out.

>>39901907
Best Sig. RIP.
>>
>>39902048
MOS is fine for a miniature reflex dot like an RMR, Leupold, or a Vortex Viper. I wouldn't throw an MRO on one without one of those 6 second mounts, though. Spring combo tuning is a fine balancing act. Don't let the glock haters dissuade you though.
>>
>>39902081
Gone before its time :(
>>
>>39902097
Mos is a joke.
>>
>>39901986
You just have to tune the recoil spring weight until you find the right one. My g17 with a non-window brownell’s rmr slide works perfectly with a 15lbs spring, jams like crazy with the factory 16lbs spring, and light strikes with a 14lbs spring.
>>39902008
There aren’t enough threads in the thin plate for most optics. However, the plate I saw for the britbong shield rms has the screw holes that go up into the optic, I think that would one be fine.
>>

>>
>>39902127

>>
>>39902132
Maybe pick one of those and actually get good at shooting it. And don’t give Taran more thot money.
>>
>>39902132
>gen 4
Why? The Gen 5 is objectively better. Unless you really hate that stupid cutout of course.
>>
>>39902149
I'm already fine at shooting and I can get all those guns at dealer cost. I don't mind giving taran more thot money because im a keanu wannabe
>>
>>39901986
RMR weighs almost the same as the metal removed for the cut.
>>
>>39902154
I've extensively felt both and the gen4 im gonna keep stock besides the sights. It fits and feels really nice with the grooves. Gen 5 isn't THAT much better.
>>
>>39902015
thats the ugliest pile of shit to come out in years.
>>
>>39902109
>before its time
Honestly, the P239 makes no sense on paper. As big as a compact double stack polymer pistol, weights even more, holds 8 rounds.
But...there is something magic about the way it shoots, and I wish they’d keep making parts and magazines at least.
>>
Anyone shot the Glock 29?

Seriously considering it for a belly band carry to be my new jogging gun. I already have revolvers for the woods but was thinking 10mm would be suitable for any stray animals i may encounter.
>>
>>39902167
Its slide is locked back, and is independent of the top where the red dot is mounted.
It also has an ultra low bore axis, lower than the Hudson’s and Glock’s.
>>
>>39902190
Low bore axis is a meme
lrn2grip
>>
>>39902113
never had an issue with mine, feeds and cycles everything from the cheapest aluminum to gucci +P+ defense loads with utmost reliability. only downside compared to custom milling is a slightly higher offset, but i still get cowitness off suppressor heights
>>
>>39902185
Where are you jogging that a 26 won’t do the job just fine?
>>
>>39902208
It matters to some people. And its always a plus to have as low as possible.
>>
>>39902211
How many rounds have you put through it with the optic on? Heard they get loose every 1000 or so. No personal experience to know if that’s true, but if I had an MOS glock I’d mark my screws so I could see if they moved at all.
>>
>>39902211
>justify a bad slide cut by saying it runs ammo well
Sorry, I haven’t seen your baseball.
>>
>>39902218
Honestly just want an excuse to buy a 10mm lol

Still haven't bought a 1911 and was looking into 10mm chambered 1911s but i heard they jam even more than the 45s

>>
>>39902237
Most factory 10mm is loaded nearly the same as .40S&W. May not be worth it unless you load your own. Glock is definitely the most practical 10mm option.
My pick for an ideal jogging with bears gun would be a 340PD j-frame revolver. Light enough you could tuck it in running shorts and could carry 357 magnum for stopping powah.
>>
>>39902190
>Its slide is locked back, and is independent of the top where the red dot is mounted.
I know how it works. I've seen the video of it. It's a fucking gimmick though. It's also heavy. On par with a commander 1911.
>It also has an ultra low bore axis, lower than the Hudson’s and Glock’s.

>>
>>39902442
Are you asking if there are aftermarket parts for glocks? Hmm, good question. I don’t know. I haven’t ever seen any.
You know, I feel like glocks are popular enough that would be about 3 million options for slide stops. Odd, huh? I just can’t imagine what a fellow would have to do to get someone to make something like this. Maybe we could 3D print one so we can save on the R&D costs for such a low demand product. Maybe we could even talk to glock about making a factory one. They don’t like to listen, though.
Hey, BTW, have you seen that other guy’s baseball???

S&W metal autos are comfy and built like tanks. They're also getting fairly collectible as people are finding out about them.
It's less practical than a 92 FS for most things except for bludgeoning ability, but it's also more collectible and harder to find. Personally I'd go with a 4506 as a cool range gun so long as I can get the more practical carry soon. If utility is your game then stick with the 92.
For what it's worth, I don't see the 4506 as much of a competition gun, though I don't see the 92 as much of one either.

>How many rounds have you put through it with the optic on?
Low-to-mid thousands, including quite a bit of suppressed, since the last battery change/remount. I do use blue loctite on the screws. I've never bothered with witness marks on them because they're always crispy when I go to do a battery swap, but I'll throw some on and report in after this week's conjugal visit with the can.

better idea: get a P30L and send that to Taran, instead.
>>39902182
It makes way more sense than the P225-A1, which is even heavier than the P6/P225. The P239 SAS weighs even less than the standard P239, but that aesthetic isn't for everyone, I'll admit. I do hope some aftermarket companies fill the void for parts at the very least. It's a shame, desu.
>>39902378
the military will never ever let grunts change out the frames on issue M17 pistols, so the modular feature is a gimmick. the advantage it gives is basically easier replacement or repair for armorers, but the current logistics plan for the M17 is pants on head retarded, so it doesn't matter. Not really the best example to prove your point.

not for a CCW handgun. over the old P6? Maybe, but it's even heavier now because of the slide change from stamped to milled. I don't get the point of the A1 honestly when the P229/P226 exists.

The P225-A1 conceals a little easier than the P229. It’s pretty slim all over comparatively. And while kind of heavy for what it is, the weight makes it shoot really well.

Not really. The man has more money than he does time or sense. Sure, he owns like 6 billion guns, but I’d reckon he’s never put more than 500 rounds in either of them. Also, I’ve seen the man’s hands. He’s a hamplanet of a person and I doubt he leaves his house other than for work more than once a week.

Burt would be tolerable if he wasn’t the most the narcissistic person on this site, let alone board. But his head is five miles up his own ass so no one besides his orbiters likes him.

Worth the money? I'd argue no because they are competing with custom 1911s in the same price range. But they are fine if you really want a (((kimber.))) Avoid any Kimber that isn't a full size though because their smaller 1911s have questionable reliability at best.

You can find low round count Baers around that price range and new Dan Wessons in the $1200 range, both would be much better options than a Kimber. In the $600-900 range, you can get Ruger/Springfield/Sig that would be better options.

almost all the guns on the market these days are ambidextrous, so what are you looking for, more specifically?

just be glad WGWS doesn't come in here very often anymore. Burt is very far down that list, anon.

if trigger reach is a real concern and you prefer a DA/SA, try to find a deal on a used P226 E2. It has the perfect combination of flared out lower grip with an SRT and trigger pivot point moved further to the rear.
Something else like a 3913 would be smaller but with very similar controls to your PA-63.
Not sure what else would help, because I have the opposite problem with my hands. sorry.

dan wesson production guns are semi-custom
They are a step above normal production 1911's, but they aren't totally custom, yes.
>>
>>39917413
i'll timestamp mine (the sdp) if you timestamp yours

>>39917433
not interested, but yes after searching a bit, I mistook your SDP for another one.
Just thought it was a funny exchange. that's all.

>>39917334
New they're about $450 shipped online or the same pre-tax in store at the usual scumbags (Academy, Cabela's, etc)

He doesn’t have experience because he barely shoots. He’s admitted to shooting only a few hundred rounds a year.
All he does is buy guns and catalog them and arrange them like some kind of autistic Hummel collector. In between arranging them for his retarded photo shoots he bothers literally everyone on the internet by spouting his stupid opinions on every gun related site. What kind of “professional” person do you know has the ability or desire to spend every free second they have shitposting on /k/? He obviously does nothing but eat, work, eat, shitpost, eat, and dry fire in his basement since he’s too socially retarded to go out to a range.

Does anyone else have a Ruger Mark IV that's having trouble ejecting spent casings?

At first I figured it was the extractor not working well, so I replaced the factory one with a one from Volquartsen, but that hasn't fixed it. Now I'm noticing the ejector seems to have a small amount of wobble, so I'm thinking that might be the cause, but I really don't want to send the upper back to Ruger and be without it for a month+ if I don't have to, considering I'm not even sure if that's really the issue.

Pic related is the malfunction I keep having, about once per mag it seems. It's a real PITA to clear.
>>
>>39917859
What ammo?
When it does eject successfully, where do the casings go?
>>
>>39917879
I mostly shoot cheap bulk box federal and some golden bullets through it, nothing high quality, but for about the first 7k rounds or so I put through the gun I never had this issue. Successfully ejected casings don't usually end up in a neat pile or anything, but they never have. The majority end up around 4 o'clock however.

I forgot to mention it before, but the tiny firing pin return spring in the bolt is broken as well (the last two coils broke off from the rest). I was able to put it back together with those two coils where they should be, so I kind of doubt this is it.

I have a Px4 Storm full size in 9mm, and I'm wondering if it would be feasible to trade for a M&P 2.0 compact in 9mm. I have small-ish hands and the Px4 is simply too big for me. I bought it on a stupid whim and have been regretting it for months.
>>
>>39917831
make it a 15 and add night sights
>>
>>39917980
trade it for an apx
>>
>>39917994
How is the APX? Do you reckon I could get the Centurion model?
>>
>>39917983
Might as well just carry my VP9 at that point
>>
>>39918103
well yea you didn't mention you had one.

>have a G40

I’m not a Glock fan, but their 10mms are pretty solid

10mm for coyotes? Jesus christ, that's like calling 30mm HE an antipersonnel round.

I'm not him, I would carry a 9/.40/.357 sig for coyotes, but to each his own. I understand the reasoning.

Yes
Try getting the optics ready APX if you can
