Previous thread: >>21949208This thread is for the discussion of untranslated Japanese visual novels. What are you playing? What are you looking forward to? What have you finished? You know the drill.
Is 月の彼方で逢いましょう any good?
>>21979027>What are you looking forward to?Lune next game. Something tells me its Sukebe Elf 2.
>>21979027>What are you looking forward to?Musicus!, Shuffle 2
I want a comfy, relaxing VN to get immersed in. Any recommendations?
>What are you looking forward to?Aokana Zwei
>>21979231isnt that like never happening since sprite is dead?>>21979039Aside from Touka's route, sure.
>>21979027>What are you playing?I'm playing Venus Blood Lagoon and I wonder how could I miss such a great series for so long (I've been meaning to get into it for over a year). So far, it has almost everything. The art, music and gameplay are great, all heroines are very cute and romance with each of them has a steady progression, the SoL and comedy are very well written, the ero is hot and varied. The best thing about it though is the setting. I absolutely love 魔導科学 stuff and every game that has it wins at least 3 extra points in my book. The contrast between it and traditional high fantasy is also nice. 魔竜族 are completely pro-technology, build magic hovertrains, sprawling cities with factories and air purifiers and excavate ancient weapons, while 神竜族 are borderline luddites who live in the wooden huts, worship their God and are dead set on destroying all that technology. It's not without faults, of course. I don't like how if you want to replace a unit with the same one, but with different affixes, you have to pay the full price in all resources. Some of the h-scenes like Vivre's painful whipping scene or Piasa's futa urethra insertion and orgasm denial scene are a bit too brutal for my liking. The "western" writing gets tiring quickly: sometimes I want to be called by some other title other than my name like onii-chan or something, Zahak, Zahak, Zahak all the time gets boring. And the story itself is also pretty generic so far, but I'll let it pass since nobody plays those kinds of games for the story, right? But yeah, it's great. If Rance is the gold standard of fantasy haremge, then Lagoon is the platinum nugget.
>>21979512>It's not without faults, of course.>of courseSeems like you have pathetically low standards.
>>2197978012 year olds are not allowed here.
>>21979810>12 year olds are not allowed here.then where is the yuzusoft fanbase supposed to go?
Any story driven VNs that feel like an adventure throughout its world?
>>21979837https://vndb.org/v15080 ,otherwise just fantasy setting gameplay VNs are all I can think of.Honestly you are better off with other mediums like LNs, most non-gameplay eroge tend to occur around a single main hub area.
I wish I were pregnant
>>21979780Every game has flaws. There isn't a single one that is perfect and flawless. And personally, I believe that the more flaws you are able to meticulously find, the more you are allowed to call yourself a fan of that game. This is what separates fans from fanboys. Fans accept flaws and wish they would be fixed with patches or in company's future games. Fanboys only blindly eat everything up and declare it flawless kamige.>>21979837Try Rance. I'd hesitate to call the series "story driven", considering that the story in most games there is dogshit, but it fits the adventure bill, and the world itself is amazing.
/jp/ I'm gonna be honest and open up, I have been out of the game for awhile (since 2016) and had no idea things got this bad in such a small period of time. Like, the gap between untranslated vns and translated vns is astonishingly small.I legit feel the best of times have passed. Civilization truly peaked in 1997.
>>21979081LovelyxCation 2 or Amakanos.
>>21980570>LovelyxCation 2eh, the "gameplay" and trying to get all the cgs especially for certain routes can be a headache and easily breaks immersion.
RIP conjueror. What's your favorite review of his , other than the legendary Subahibi review .
>>21981604https://vnreviews.blog/2016/02/14/7208/This one because of the karma. I'm not even interested in yuzushit, but damn, the way things played out is hilariously funny.
>>21981693What karma?Yuzusoft games scenario bores me to death too. The story is just hard to get into.Beside that the characters are usually cute and the art is nice.
So no played きまぐれテンプテーション trail? It's pretty good. Also it has the best use of E-mote in eroge. So this is the power of the new Era
>>21981776The karma is in "you deserve to die" -> goes ahead and dies himself. As for why I think Yuzusoft is bad, it's because they actually make rather interesting settings, then proceed to do absolutely nothing with them.
>>21981793not going to bother with it because I don't like fumi
man, nagomi's dere is really on the heavy side
>>21982110I also like her in the game but it was pretty bad in the manga.
Is Senshinkan easier to read than Dies and KKK?
So this is where Rance retired huh. Arguing about socks with his wife.
>>21982470theyre all japanese
>>21981793I like the E-mote but I hope they figure out a way to have smoother animations when switching poses, it looks weird to have animation but still suddenly jump between poses like if it was a static spite.
>>21982470it's easier than kkk but harder than dies from my experience
Finished reading Cross†Channel. Great game, maybe it will help me become a more complete human being (who are we kidding heh). The ending song was lovely. Every single character was memorable in their own way, and they felt realistic with their bickering and problems. This might be the most didactic VN that I've read so far. I wonder if anyone had the same impression.I have to say that some of the CGs were simply awful though. How you can manage to draw a character in a CG that looks worse than their normal sprite is beyond me. The sprites are all great though. Also, the game featured some of the most unappealing HCGs that I have seen in my life. While the game felt long with all the repetitions, in the end it feels like this also worked to the advantage of the message. Just like Miki gained something even though she suffered an injury at the beach, one can't help but feel such an effect from this game too. Ironically all the time spent reading is time that was not spent "connecting" with other people.Thankfully I still have the extra stories ahead of me, so I don't have to say goodbye to the characters yet.
>>21982110Her dere gets really fucking creepy, daddy issues overdrive.
Can someone enlighten me as to why people think Subahibi is kamige? I honestly can't understand how people can go through It's my own Invention or Looking Glass Insects and think to themselves 'Yep, this is kamige'
Amakano keeps asking for a disk. I have the ISO mounted and the game installed.
>>21983865Mounting a disk often isn't enough to replace a no-cd, you probably need a crack.
>>21983919I did some looking and people are recommending using something called AlphaROMdiE. I've never heard of this
>>21983939If you "did some looking" and found an answer, then why the hell are you asking me about it? Figure it out.
>>21983942Is it legitimate? That's what I was implying when I said my last post.
>>21984195I haven't installed a VN since like 2012. Don't bully
>>21983500it's too deep for you, you have to have an insanely high iq to fully understand subashibi
>>21980607What are you talking about? Just put the game on easy and done.>Gameplay systems that asks of me to get more invested into the game breaks immersion. What a fag

what are /jp/s thoughts on 紫影のソナーニル
What do you think should be added or excluded? We're making the list with titles that were not on the other lists done before.
>>21985548Why did you put Iriya on this joke list, its actually good
>>21985578It's shit though I've seen the anime. I was against adding it.
>>21985608Anons from a Russian image board.
>>21979894>Every game has flaws. There isn't a single one that is perfect and flawless.Seems like you have pathetically low standards of which games to play and which to ignore.>And personally, I believe that the more flaws you are able to meticulously find, the more you are allowed to call yourself a fan of that game. That's just plain retarded. Being a "true" fan has absolutely nothing to do with "meticilously finding flaws" in something.
>>21981604>RIP conjueror.>Nothing in Subahibi is what it seems at first glance as it mixes suspense and horror with complex philosophical truths to deliver one of the most profound works of fiction ever written.Seems like those "complex philosophical truths" didn't stop him from becoming a helpless weak piece of shit and ending his own life. But maybe I'm missing something and this all just shows the depth of how profound SubaHibi really is.
>>21985650>ending his own lifenice meme
>>21985667You have a point, you can't really call it "his own". Retards like him usually can't think for themselves.
>>21985650Subahibi is actually very shallow and doesn't tell anything new that wasn't told before. And no, not by those modern fedora "philosophers". This was all discussed two millennia ago.
>The first chapter is intentionally bad, so it can be a bit hard to get through>Probably the most profound / intelligent work of fiction ever written>Reading his works you’ll be introduced to a plethora of other literary fiction, philosophy, science, and _his own original ideas_.What was he trying to say by this?
More games should have Russian heroines
>>21985739Why? You like gold diggers?
Why is vndb scores generally so low? Most games seem to hover around 7/10, and it doesn't seem reliable at all
>>21985769just check egs, and read some of the reviews there for a better picture.
>>21985769The west has higher standards
>>21985769I think you're correct that they're not terribly accurate, but I wouldn't call 7/10 low. I don't think the average should be above that.
>>21985769Dumb EOPs playing the games with MTL and giving it a bad score because they didn't understand anything.
>>219857697/10 is highan average title should be rated 5
>>21985756Racist and rude!
>>21985875Why would you say this?
>>21985786>read some of the reviews there for a better pictureI don't think he can, unless EGS already has hook codes.
>>21985938So like, whats up with people like this in these threads, always baiting others in their knowledge of Japanese?
>>21985956I don't know, like I totally don't know my dude.
>>21985938That doesn't even make sense, people use hook codes to get the text into the browser and use a mouse over dictionary, somebody that uses hooks can easily read a Japanese website with the same dictionary.
Why are little girls so fucking sexy?
>>21985956It's probably one autist. Like always. It's not even making sense most of the time. Ignore it.
>>21986010To be fair, claims that vndb retards can't tag anything properly or even translate character profiles without fucking something up are completely justified and that's what I say all the time too. There are games out there that have been out for 10+ years and pages for them are retarded fanfiction. But unlike him, I don't obsess over EOPs and text hooks and whatever else.
>>21985974Thanks for enlightening us. That's not something who actually understands Japanese has any way of knowing.
>>21985428it has a really cute dork for protagonist
>>21986049Dude, this isn't funny anymore. You just make yourself look more and more retarded with every post.
>>21985707Silky Plus sure has fallen. Or returned to their roots, making nukige?Cross Concerto is probably going to be bad because it was artificially padded due to kickstarter goals (more money = bigger script size, they reached the highest milestone which was 3mb+ I think). The writer has shown that he can't do long games, so I'd be really surprised if it turned out decent.
>>21986088>this isn't funnyIt wasn't supposed to be, my dude bro. It's just reality.
>>21986118>I'd be really surprised if it turned out decentCan't that be said about almost all eroges?
>>21986146The unbiased reality is that vndb is much better than EGS when it comes to finding something that you want to play. The filter system here is amazing and EGS search by POV can't compete at all. When it comes to getting an actual information about something, it becomes completely unreliable garbage (because of aforementioned EOPs) and EGS or random blog reviews, as well as official game sites and wikis become much better. I think we've discussed this several threads ago. First find something you want on vndb, then switch to EGS.
>>21986118>Silky Plus sure has fallen. Or returned to their roots, making nukige?Don't judge it based on the character design, from the trial it has an early h-scene but I wouldn't say it's a nukige, it takes until the end of the trial before another one shows up and you can choose to have sex or not so it might be relevant to the plot later.I thought the trial was nice, it has some point and click sections and the mystery is interesting enough, though being such a cheap game I wonder if they'll actually solve the mystery within it, maybe its supposed to be episodic.
>>21986175I agree. But what does this have to do with the unbiased reality that nobody who understands Japanese would know intimate details about how EOPs use text hookers?
>>21986185I wouldn't know, I'm not that retard. I only get mildly triggered when someone judges something entirely by vndb's grossly incomplete database without checking other sources first, like here >>21952051. It's good for scores, good for genre tags, but complete shit for everything else.
>>21986162From random writers sure, but things are expected of named / famous writers. There aren't many people left who write full size games by themselves, Kizuki is one of the few who still does.>>21986180I'm not discarding it completely but I think if the mystery or whatever was good enough on its own they wouldn't need to bait with designs like that. Low price is extremely alarming as well.
>>21986213>if the mystery or whatever was good enough on its own they wouldn't need to bait with designs like thatyou've got to be kidding me. are you completely disconnected from reality?
>>21985726Why would you think that?
>>21986213She's a succubus so she should look like one, and like I said the sex might end up being important and maybe the fact that she's a succubus too. What makes eroge good it's the fact that they don't have hold back on stuff like that, if the writer wants to make a supernatural murder mystery story with sexy succubus this is one of the few mediums where he can do that, if they only wanted to "bait" people they could just make a proper nukige instead.
>>21986261Because his mind didn't stop developing at the age of 11.
>>21986261Because all this crap WAS actually discussed two millennia ago by the Greeks and the Jews? I don't fucking know. Dickgirls are the only saving grace of Subahibi.
Why are you so angry all the time? Relax, meditate, go take a walk instead of wasting all your time arguing on 4chan.
>>21986297He was probably baited into getting N1 before even beginning to read the simplest nukige. All those posts about "high standards" like >>21979780 come from that. EOP mentality is a hard bitch to get rid of, it seems.
Does EGS have an usable API?
>>21986320That's not even him/her.>N1Is that a new EOP-certification they released so that you can read shit without text-hooking?
How fucking hard is it to talk about visual novels without talking about your language skills.
>>21986320>EOP mentality is a hard bitch to get rid ofSpeaking from experience here, EOP?
>>21986337It would be way easier, were there games worth talking about.
Ban me mods, do you job for once.
>>21986361None of those guys look like me, where am I supposed to insert into?
>>21986366The cuck naturally
>>21986326No but it has a SQL query form which is amazing if you know SQL and could be used as a pseudo API.
>>21986470Thanks, I might try playing around with that.
Now that the dust has settled can we admit scaji is a fucking hack.
>>21986588>dustAre you refering to conqueror? I don't think his EOP culture practices cremation.
>>21986650I don't know your shitty ecelebs, I'm just saying scaji is a hack.
>>21986655>shitty ecelebsBut scaji is precisely that.
Too bad no one wanted to help to complete the list, but it's finished now.

>>21986907I don't get the criteria you used.
>>21987649It feels like it has a little bit of everything. Pretty much everyone would agree with something on the list but pretty much no one would agree with everything on the list.
>>21987649> We're making the list with titles that were not on the other lists done before. This >>21985548>>21985612Though most titles of the list were included by decision of the guy who made it. Some our guys (me included) protested against console and all ages games being added.
>>21987993>We're making the list with titles that were not on the other lists done before. You guys didn't add Senshinkan on your lists up until now?
>>21988031Nope, It was here in 2018 too
>>21988042>Tsukikage no SimulacreI always like the OP to this thing, but I've never read it. Is it any good?
>>21988098It was added by the guy who made the list, so I don't know. Hell, we were up to change the list completely but this guy was against most of the games suggested. I'm still mad.
This may be a ton of work, but rather than just the VNDB summary, a short, personalized recommendation by the person recommending the eroge would be more interesting to read on a recommendation chart. Maybe include a couple sentences on what it's about with most of it being why you think it's good. Those are always more interesting to read than the generic summaries taken from other sites. Skimming it, I noticed a couple had these but most didn't.
>>21988390I agree. The shorter description is the better.
>>21986266>like I said the sex might end up being important and maybe the fact that she's a succubus too.Now that I think about it, in mother's teaching there was something like " get drown in your sexual drive " Don't tell me Ane is the mother and mastermind. Don't tell that falling to her Temptation would mean a bad end? This would be a hilarious plot twist.
>>21988656I was thinking something similar, like have too much sex could lead to a bad end, but I doubt she'll be the mastermind since they're selling a limited edition bundle with a dakumakura, it'd be kind of weird to make a daki of the main villain.
does anyone here actually play vns
>>21989825I'm playing Noratoto 2, was looking forward to Yuu's route but it ended up being pretty short with boring h-scenes, would have preferred some more shimaidon scenes if it was gonna be like this.

>>21999531That's just a meme.Narahara's writing style is completely different from Butcher's.
>>21999531I have literally never heard that rumour and I'm 100% sure you just made it up because nobody who read through muramasa would even consider that to be true for a second

>>21979512>gameplayah, right, that's why I still haven't read this one.
>new muramasadoes that mean that nara is actually alive and spend the last 10 years training his sword skills on a mountain? or does it mean nitroplus is finally selling out this IP too? assuming it actually is a full vn instead of gachashit, surely they won't let somebody else write it? fandisk and bonus stuff is one thing, but a whole VN?
>>21989982>NoratotoSpeaking of it... is there any news on the restoration patch? The last time I heard, it was discovered that the EN release is can be patch and they just need to translate the remaining lines.
>>22002496>does that mean that nara is actually alive and spend the last 10 years training his sword skills on a mountain?I just want to see the other VNs he has no doubt written in his life.
>>22003837He might be already dead or something.
I am an EOP, but I just wanted to enter this thread, as I went through Manadrake earlier today, and actually saw the majority of visual novels that they had in stock. It was all low quality nukigeNow, my question is, is it actually that a majority of VN releases are low quality nukige? Or were the shelves just full of garbage, because when something like Key came in, they'd sell it immediately.
>>22004003>I am an EOPStopped reading. You can fuck right off.
>>22004003And what counts as "low quality nukige" in your book? Was it some shovelware garbage, or that's how you call any game with porn?
>>21998298Honestly, if the writer lineup/rates are good I might play it. If anyone is able to do soshage right it would be Nitroplus.
>>22003610>>22004003Fuck off, EOPs.
>>21998298it's all so tiring

>>22004425>It seemed to be shovelwre. What exactly seemed like shovelware? Did you take a picture? Or remember some of the titles?
>>22004003>>22004425Is it low quality because it's nukige or legitimately bad? Different strokes for different folks but I think the market is definitely dominated by literally who nukige and moege.
Anyone know a good vn that has a fantasy setting but doesn't have gameplay?
>>22005382>Anyone know a good vn that has a fantasy settinghonestly dont understand why these or just isekai eroge isnt more common.

>>22005747RIP Dogura Q
>>22005747>does this finally confirm Narahara died for realWould it be common in Japan for nitroplus to not announce this?
>>21999329Luckily they are too small for it. Miel is getting better than ever so I hope they don't get big enough that they could afford it.Though they have released enough games that they could easily make one by reusing assets alone.
>>22005382Lune fantasy VNs usually have interesting settings and story despite being nukiges.I think their first Saimin Fantasy game had a nice medieval setting and plot.
Is this appropriate behavior for a mature girl?
>>22006557I miss this artist. Wonder why he dropped from the face of earth with techarts folding.
>>22005725What are you talking about anon? You haven't forgotten our VNOTY have you?
>>22006897>our VNOTYthat's why im wondering why there isnt more of them.
Sucks to witness the slow but sure death of the medium. All that will remain soon are budget single heroine titles and shitty nukige. I think a publisher with a lot of money like Type Moon could help the industry by allowing artist to make the games they want without worrying about financial matters, but that company along with many others are only concerned with gacha now or aforementioned low budget titles
>>22006897>VNOTYAnd what would that be?
>>22006920I think in general eroge really missed out on the whole 小説家になろう type isekai craze. Bet they didn't think it would blow up to this extent. Then there's another factor that devs don't want to take risks maybe? This is a stale medium after all where everyone knows what works and what should sell.Leaving Fluorite aside who's works got decent reviews and mostly positive feedback there's of course stuff like Utaware and how successful it turned out to be and even they went full gacha not daring to make anything more in the end when they could.there's also again the risk factor in the sense that with LN business, publishers mostly target stories with high points on narou. Unless of course the author has connections but anyhow when publishers are sure that work has a certain fanbase already established, only then would they publish/adapt it into an LN. Even with the content being same as the WN for example it would still guarantee sales as the fans would buy them even as sort of a donation towards the author, a tip or maybe for illustrations or as an encouragement for them to write more. Then if it plummets in popularity publishers could always stop and axe, not like they're losing anything. Maybe that's the reason we have so many episodic VNs right now as that model is more attractive.
>>22007123It's strange because the power fantasy harem isekai just seems like a perfect fit for eroge. Maybe devs just can't think of ways to implement multiple route storytelling into high fantasy settings. The ideal way of doing it would just be to make a kinetic novel where the MC fucks every girl in one route but eroge devs aren't known for deviating from established practices.
>>22006897Is this from an actual eroge? I guess not, judging by how the protag has a face so as to not disturb the more casual eroge readers.
You have actually well written fantasy in eroge, like the Kyonyuu or Eden's Ritter series from Waffle (btw eden's ritter gets a soshage soon, rip). Though it usually takes the form of JRPG.There was that もっと!孕ませ！ nukige that goes the extra mile provides *only* the h-scenes for what would be part of a prototype Narou fantasy+academy setting.
>>22007207>the more casual eroge readersYou mean autists with zero mental capability bothered by it.
>>22007376Same thing. Any non-casual will have enough mental abilities to deal with it properly.
>>22007207Its one of those retarded games where the MC has eyes until he is boning an heroine.
>>22007388Or retarded newfag trannies who can't even recognize that game despite it getting extensive discussion here on release.
>>22007207It's Sorceress Alive, though to be honest it's not that great. First half is the most generic moege trite with the usual kind of drama, whereas the real deal part is merely decent. Also even if the protagonist gets a face he's the useless kind of mana bank who doesn't actually fight, and on top of that a turbofag who complains about harems in a world where harems are quite literally the social norm.
>>22007191>where the MC fucks every girl in one routedo you read nocturne? basically 18+narou? there are countless ways to have h-scenes going and simultaneously develop every single girl without relying on multiple route storytelling, even when it comes to non nukige. what eroge devs actually frantically try to avoid are hilariously harems in non nukige. I've heard countless argument here on /jp/ about how it breaks people's realism and their values or whatever, that autism is not exclusive to this place and it's still funny when polygamy is pretty much the norm for shousetsuka stories right now. then suddenly sorceress alive comes out which is basically an antithesis of those polygamy templates popular on narou YET the autists on EGS kept calling it narou this narou that.my ass.
The recent Nitro+ annousments got me hyped and then remembered that I had Sumaga on my backlog for 8 years. So is the game worth reading in 2019?I haven't seen it being discussed in these threads before.
>>22004477>>22004028It's low quality because it is bad.Taimanin Asagi is obviously good. Most of what I saw there was not close to that level
>>22006317No, it'd be really uncommon not to announce it.but It'd also be uncommon not to announce somebody that hasn't worked on anything for 10 years leaving your company.
>>22007992It was never worth reading.
>>22007052>I think a publisher with a lot of money like Type Moon could help the industry by allowing artist to make the games they wantIsn't that kinda what DMM is doing with >>22006897? With Fluorite and Heliodor they released some different games this year, nothing amazing and Ryuusei ended up being disappointing but at least they're trying to make stuff that isn't just moege/nukige.
>>22008192>Taimanin AsagiWhat a pleb.
>>22006897Sorceress Alive is kamige, fight me
>>22009346true. Helps that this year was filled with mediocrity or disappointments.
>>22009346The VN gets better and better as get to the Alive route. It raises your expectations for what the final ending will be and at towards the end you can choose one of the heroines to end up with. After you select all the choices and complete the heroines ending you reveal the 美由紀のことを考えて過ごしたい choice. Unless you are a complete masochist, do not and I repeat DO NOT choose this ending. Canonically it is the TRUE END of the VN but I have never seen a disappointment of an ending from a TRUE END before. It raises all you expectations only to take everything away and give you nothing at all. And to make matters work once you complete the ending you might think there might be more dialogue after the credits right? But no there is none. To make things worse these even change the background colors to a lighter theme and changed the menu music a very uplifting piano piece as if to rub salt into the wounds of your betrayed expectations. If you are enjoying this VN and want to leave this game on a happy note then DO NOT SELECT THE 美由紀のことを考えて過ごしたい CHOICE or you will end up like me, feeling tilted off the face of the earth with disbelief at how the writers could have C***blocked you so hard.tldr: DO NOT PICK 美由紀のことを考えて過ごしたい if you want to leave this game on a happy note.
>>22007191It's always been a mystery to me that harems never became widely used outside of Nukige, the VN genre was basically made for them
>>22009903Probably because the appeal of a harem is the sex, so VNs that aren't focused on sex don't bother.
>>22009907But with a harem you can write sex scenes for every heroine without separating the story into separate routes. That makes writing it easier. It just seems like a no brainer to me
>>22009920Which is why you only see them in nukige. Because they make nukige easier.
>>22009929The vast majority of VNs have sex scenes and character routes though, not just nukige
>>22009933Not all VNs with sex scenes are nukige, and VNs with character routes exclude harems unless there's a true end that glosses over every conflict in every characters route so you can get a generic happy end.
>>22009946But that's what I'm saying. There are plenty of VNs that include character routes despite only one heroine really being tied to the main story, more vns should just be harems where there is main story and every girl is a part of it. It just suppresses me that that was never really tried despite it being so popular in LNs
>>22009955>more vns should just be harems where there is main story and every girl is a part of itThat's too hard. Character routes means you can ignore characters who aren't the heroine, and that makes things easier. It also means you can have multiple writers, which makes things easier. So harems with a main story are more effort, and so people only do them in nukige where it's actually easier to use them. It's popular in LNs but LNs also take less effort, resources and have less risk than a VN. I don't disagree that there should be more of them but I can see some reasons why it isn't particularly common.
>>22009907For me, the appeal of a harem is to make every girl happy, without leaving anyone out, cucked and depressed about the fact that she wasn't chosen. Also, I don't like big harems as much as small ones (2-4 girls and me).
>>22010009>For me, the appeal of a harem is to make every girl happy, without leaving anyone out, cucked and depressed about the fact that she wasn't chosenThat's cool but the japs aren't into that. They clearly love set ups where if you don't pick a girl she ends up depressed, alone, and possibly dead, and there's no 'save everyone' route.
>>22009970I mean maybe if they tried it it could have been successfulStuff like Highschool dxd or Shimai maou are basically porn anyways, they would work very well as eroge imo. Guess we'll never know though
>>22010018With VNs declining I think we are past the point where anyone will try, unfortunately.
>>22009856Not that guy but I'll keep that in mind when I do pick up the game. Thanks.
>>22010014Yeah, it's jarring. And the worst offenders are games that are very clearly harems, but fucking don't have a harem ending that would've made perfect sense. Thankfully, in this particular case, there's at least a DiveX to solve some of the problems.
>>22010014Harems are popular in other media though. Plus look at Evenicle. The market is there
>>22010077How well did Evenicle 2 do?
>>22010088They riked it
>>22010014Exactly, for me this is the best part of VN routes. I especially love VNs which go out of their way to show you how depressed the other girls are every route
>>22010237Harems where the girl is frustrated and jealous but loves MC so much she shares anyway are more my speed
confirmed suicide, like every anon thoughthttps://twitter.com/Diamond07071/status/1169197979598774273?s=20
>>21979371She's the best character despite being a slut though.
>>22010323Life is a hard beast
>>22010334It's easy if you turn your brain off
>>22010327She's the best character BEACUSE she's a slut
>>22010341Not really, her being a slut is pretty much irrelevant. The fact that she's very supportive and reliable even outside her route makes her the best character for me.
So when are they going to make a Frill spin-off of Kirara's backstory when she turned from innocent young writer into a huge slut?
>>21983098Hey! I'm reading this right now, took a pause and came here.As a beginner, Taichi's monologues slow me down the most, cuz all the freaking vocabulary employed. I added 2000~ cards to anki from the game alone, and I already have 5000~ already. But yeah the concept is kinda unique, with the repeating week, and building up a whole relationship with a character only for it to reset at the end and having them hate you again ( 冬子 :,( ), although MC's clearly at fault when it comes to this. It's not perfect but a great experience overall.
Is this a pasta?
I keep seeing Dead Days around Akihabara. Is it any good?
>>22008820Perhaps I am a pleb.I just think it has high quality art.
>>22010480You forgot the image. How can I tell you if it's noodles, if you don't even refer to any picture or something?
>>22010323Happy for him, he made the right decision. Life fucking sucks and it only gets worse.

>>22010323>So in my opinion it was just too much work, too less sleep (4-5h only)And here I am, not finding enough time to play eroge because I sleep for 12-15 hours each day unless I drink 3-4 cups of coffee.
>>22011591are you NEET?
>>22011210Yes, it's decent.
How do I convince my sister that eroge are an art form? She's into anime and I recently showed her an eroge she'd probably enjoy a lot, but she seems to view them as beneath anime and other mediums.
>>22012354What eroge did you recommend her?
>>22012354She's not wrong as long as mouthbreathing self inserts are what keeps the industry alive.
>>22012400沙耶の唄.>>22012427She's not mentally disabled, so she'd be able to self-insert into any story pretty well. If that's what you're asking.
What should I expect?Just good classic nakige or something more?
>>22013145An extremely dumb story and mostly shit routes.
>>22010069Personally, I'd find it hard to reconcile a guy who's love-crazed enough to wage war for his dead gf having polygamous inclinations.
>>22013967https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chekhov's_gunThen don't make it have more harem-like atmosphere than the most trashy ecchi anime and don't make all routes canon at the same time. If you force me to be a manwhore, let me be a proper manwhore and make everyone happy.
>>22014117>and make everyone happyThat's your misconception.
>>22014129Remind me, how early into the game it gets revealed that Sora is not just a classmate or a friend, but is, indeed, a girlfriend? If my memory sick pun, btw is correct, it happens by the end of Rain's route. And it gets re-revealed in every route after that, BEFORE the romance progresses to fucking. So much for being love-crazed and faithful. So yeah, if you can have misconceptions, then so do I.
>>22014297Getting over your lost love and settling for another girl is one thing.Getting a harem is another. Also, you're talking about the lunatic who had to get a suicide watch-type treatment in the form of brain fuckery that made him think his GF is alive. The guy also went against his promise and principles to become a soldier for her sake, had a supposed 10/10 accompany him all the way through, never once thought of giving up and settling down with her, and ultimately had to have his memory fried for the others to even stand a chance.Despite having a harem, Kou's not a harem protag. Dive 1/2 is basically a glorified Sora/Kuu route with some extreme meandering. I can see the dissonance, too, but a harem ending clearly wouldn't have made "perfect sense" without some major changes to the characters and story.
>>22014664How foolish of me to expect Hiei to write another proper ending to a hero's journey like in Duel Savior then. What a hack. I mean, Sky is basically a 80-90% Muv Luv ripoff, and it mostly does things better (considering how bad MLA is), but he didn't have to copy all the shit parts like the ending too.
>>22013145Yeah, >>22013161 that's not even a joke
