I've gotten around, after a very long time, to convert and upload the recordings that I had of the last days of the live feed of the train station that I did before it ended. Still have the last day of it, which is 30 hours of recording, but converter is given me issues. Will upload it when I can.

Titles show date and time that the recording started in JST at that day.

>It hit -39C where I live overnight

>>
>>20776732
Well last year I think it was the coldest ever in Tokyo. You would be some up in Hokkaido or what? You are in the north. People say Japan is small and shit, but it is more than 3 times my country. A bit smaller than Germany. A lot bigger than the UK. And at that it is in a shape that allows it to be quite a bit long. Almost 30k km coast line. Not every country is the USA, which is just 50 countries in one really. Now Russia is a different question.

Has there ever been recorded a train suicide? With all the train platform webcams, one would think it would at least happen a few times a year.

>>20780223
>Has there ever been recorded a train suicide?
Those are pretty rare outside the big cities, and you'll struggle to find platform cameras of Tokyo/Osaka stations probably for that reason.
>>
>>20783751
True, i've yet to find an urban cam close enough to even tell if it happened.
>>20783274
Yes, but accidents are different from intentional suicides. Besides jumping off roofs, Train suicides seems to be the prefered suicide in Japan.

That said, i'm glad i've never witnessed it. I'd feels so powerless and useless if i saw someone prepping themselves for suicide and couldn't do shit about it.
>>
>>20783751
Probably for the best. I wouldn't want to see that. How common is it in the big cities?

In Britain it happens in cities, but also pedestrian crossings over lines out of town. I used to live near one where every few months someone would use it. There were hedges at the side which meant they could hide behind them and jump out at the last minute. They put up a samaritans number next to it. Very sad
>>
>>20780223

What does this guy even do? I mean how can he do anything here? Surely by the time he plows most of it, its built up loads again.

I think he is just keeping the path clear so they can get up to the bathhouse roof and knock off any snow overhangs.
Probably not fun working below knowing there is several hundred kg of snow and ice hanging over your head that could come crashing down at any time.
I guess if the snow piles up too much they would have to clear the roof too or risk it collapsing under the weight.

Damn, i haven't seen debuchan in a while.

Yup. Shopping malls where I live have to hire on armies of temps whenever there's a massive snowfall just to clear the roof. It's especially dangerous if the temperature fluctuates during the storm. If there's even a few minutes of rain or wet snow followed by a dip in temperature, much of the accumulated snow turns into ice

Yeah, what's up with debu-chan not showing up again? Is she just hidden behind her winters clothes or? Even if she was in grade 12, she should still be going to school.

It's pretty interesting to think that there are people on these cams that are just going about their day without any idea people across the world see them somewhat regularly and have even come up with their own names for them.

It's interesting indeed, i recently found a camera in my hometown by coincident and it made me wonder if there is some screenshot with me in the background floating around the interwebs out there.

Filename is the IP, paste it followed by the posted path into VLC, MPC or similar media player, or just open the IP in a browser.

Except i just checked and the camera is not there any more, will see if i can find it again later.

Were you moving the camera or something?
>>
>>20853067
Yeah, some of the older ones aren't dome cameras that you can't see into, and can be quite noisy when moved if they are rarely used.
If only they had 2way audio...

They have covered the camera with a piece of paper now, i better leave them alone to get their work done.

Is the other line even usable? Doesn't seem cleaned for usage. Is it some small last stop and then the train just goes back the same line? It is a single car train at that.
>>
>>20853930
I have seen traffic on the other track too, but hard to tell if it is just used for parking, i have never seen anyone get off or on from there.
I seem to remember seeing traffic both ways on the close platform as well just to make the confusion even worse, but that might just be poor memory on my part.
I haven't been able to track down what station this is, every time i try to get a location out of the IP i get a different result and IP whois location data in Japan in general is very unreliable at best.
>>
>>20853930
Most common traffic seem to be these three car arrangements, but traffic seems to be fairly far between compared to at Yunokami.
>>
>>20853985
Correction, 4 car
This was recorded with about 20 other cameras running, but unfortunately this seems to be about as good FPS as you can get out of the camera anyway.

>>
>>20852882
And it's down, this is probably on a mobile connection or something similar, probably too much effort trying to keep track of if it changes IP every other day.

>>20856255
No worries, i generally avoid indoor cameras unless they are in a obvious public place, it just feels a bit off to keep watching people in places where they don't expect to be watched.
It was just kinda funny to me their reaction, the camera must have creaked when moving or something because they both just turned around to look at it right away.

That said, it has surprised me before that most people seem to just laugh about it and wave to the camera when they do notice something isn't quite right.
