But why medieval Europe setting so popular ?
>>
>>6298559
Whites know that the industrial revolution was a hack and anything they accomplished during it was cheating.
True achievements were in the middle ages when all races were equal
>>
>>6298559
Uncreative people who ape Tolkien or Tolkien derived settings because they don't want to do any work

Think about it:

>very cool armor
>decentralized, lots of small but sovereign kings
>noble politics
pretty cool if you think about it

People were romanticizing the Medieval Ages long before LOTR was even a thing (i.e. Romanticism period)
>>
No clue. Middle Ages are fucking boring,
Give more classical era or pseudo-Napoleonic fantasy
>>
>>6298828
But modern fantasy is built on the back of Tolkien.
GRRM didn't read the Idylls of the King, he picked up Aragorn's tax policy.
>>
>>6298828
A brief 50 year window isn’t much dude

The classical era was always favored
>>
>>6298862
And Tolkien built on the back of romanticism.

>>
>>6298904
Fantasy during the Romantic Period wasn't firmly set on the Medieval Ages. It was fucking everywhere, mostly in the 1600s-1700s especially when German tales are considered.

That or they just parrotted mythologies.
>>
>>6298566
so when europeans accomplished and perfected everything
>>
>>6298916
We aren't talking about fantasy. We are talking about medieval setting. It was pretty damn popular during romanticism, often because the national myths were set in such setting.

Whiteyland(Europe) in general has interesting cultural eras

First marble buildings and archs
Then stone cities and castles
Finally modern metal metropolis
>>

>why are Europeans making stuff with European stuff?
>>
Whites are actually pretty racist and prefer seeing other white people.
It takes decades of ideological effort to make them not racist, and it still doesn't work completely.
A lot of 'anti-white' (radical inclusiveness) behavior is literally just racist whites overcompensating for how they know they truly feel.

What the fuck are you even trying to say?

>everything accomplished during the industrial revolution was cheating
What on earth does "cheating" even mean here? Life is not a game we voluntarily play. Do you mean plagiarizing and stealing? But successful people have always done this, and without remorse, hence why they are successful. Do you think life is all bubbles and sunshines, you dumb pansy? Everything good ever grown has required blood as sustenance.

>Middle Ages
>when all races were equal
lol what the fuck dude. Yeah, everyone was definitely treated equally during the Crusades. The differences between races only started after the Middle Ages ended. If anything, what the Middle Ages was was a big ol' eugenics program for the rise of the Renaissance period, where races became ideologically based more fiercely than any other time period so far, AND were treated extremely unequally (and as a result, gave birth to some of the greatest people in history). We've also seen, although not nearly as stunning as the Renaissance, significant cultural successes AFTER industrialization. Nothing has stopped the world from turning.

People who use the word "Tolkienism" or "Tolkienesque" have never read a shred of Tolkien.
The stifling homogeneity of modern fantasy is entirely due to Dungeons & Dragons, and Warcraft.
Same way goes for Isekaitrash, they care about Dragon Quest, they don't give a single fuck about the actual 1000 year period we call "The Middle Ages"

Does anyone really want to read or play a game set in SSA? I don’t think so. China and Japan gets a good deal of representation. I can’t imagine what a game set in say Zulu South Africa would bring to the table.

Because people don't read. I've found that most regular people think christian knights were paragons of moral virtues, romantic, tall, strong and wealthy. They think the noblewomen were pure and innocent virgins until they married and became the wisest mothers and the kindest wives. None of them cheated, God forbid, and together those noble families were loved by their subjects and the lands grew prosperous.

In fact the 'noble' knights spent most of their time leading cutthroats to rape and pillage fellow christians for their own amusement or for some petty title they didn't need anyway. Together with their wives they spent their money on feasts, jewelry and other vanities while the peasants starved to death during winter when they were forced to hunt for food only to be imprisoned and beheaded in public view for poaching.

You'd think the church would give a fuck but they were too busy with cardinal politics, bishops sucking up to the king so he'd build more monasteries because God would then forgive the king for murdering all of his family and siring 9 bastards, instead of building universities where scholars stray further from God and closer to Satan with their studies.

Shit man I'd rather be a roman slave than a peasant in medieval Europe. I'd have a chance of becoming a human vibrator for my master's daughter the moment her hormones start to run rampant, hell if I do my job right I'd actually be treated with respect and my master would allow me to take another slave qt to fuck, maybe if I befriend him(which I could and would do, whereas a peasant would be hung if he coughed too close to a noble) he would release me upon his death and give me part of his money.

Exactly how? Because every indication shows they did progress far beyond where the Romans left off (infact Roman technology was going rather backward after even the Crisis of the Third Century) and the early Medieval period largely fixed up those problems it left.

Historians: Yeah, early middle ages were pretty damn bad, but we should avoid the term Dark Ages as its a somewhat charged term, and there were some ultimately positive aspects of it, such as invention of new agricultural tools and the Carolingian Renaissance.
Retards on the internet: Haha this moron just used the term "Dark Ages" what an idiot does he not know they never happened why isn't he as smart as I am?

Dark Ages absolutely did happen you morons and they absolutely were disastrous. The bureaucracy (with the exception of the Church, which took over parts of it) and civil life absolutely fell apart, trade died out, Roman civil law was replaced by barbarian customary laws, public infrastructure was no longer maintained, cities were depopulated and territories ruralized, population fell to such an extent it took until roughly A.D. 1000 to recover to Roman times etc. etc. etc. Read a fucking book, morons.
