It's pretty interesting to look into another country's imageboard.
This post mentions "posting during the siren", which is a siren of remembrance for soldiers.
https://chan.org.il/b/res/4216.html
Their /b/ seems to have taken an /r9k/ style of posting. "I will never have a girlfriend."

>A lot of studies on child sexuality lack neutrality and instead of studying how sexuality affects them and instead study how sexual abuse affects them. Many people then use these intentionally negative and biased studies to make claims of all sexuality being harmful to children despite there being studies that show that it isn't the case. It is common for people to state that no child in the entire world would not get harmed by consensual, not in a legal sense, sexual experience or relationship with an adult. Some even go as far as saying that no child could ever want such experience yet people won't call them out.

please do, these threads are fucking neat

I've always wanted to create a browser extention that lets you do two things

1. When you end up on a weird/interesting site, you can save it to the database, possibly with a tag system of sorts, but v1 would just be saving it

2. When you are bored, you can click the extention and it takes you to a random page on in the database. The database could also be searchable from a site.

I think because of how search engines work, it kills the ability to find weird shit any more past word of mouth. A middle man to accumulate this stuff as well as allow for traversal could be neat.

Any thoughts?

We don't need billions of normies to shit up the rest of the internet. The problem is that people with skills and knowledge still choose to rely on mainstream services because they find it convenient and they need that likes dopamine release.

We need more independent blogs and forums that are their own domain. Half the reason I visit these sites is not just for their content but for their aesthetic because I'm so fucking tired of the facebook / google / twitter / instagram copy pasted style.

To reforest the web just host your own shit and post it in these kinds of threads, I appreciate the content and so do most of us here. I'll be uploading my own site soon for this reason.

I recommend namecheap for a 1 shekel domain name.
>>
>>70971068
I was thinking that maybe someone should make a website that lists and compiles obscure unpopular websites like these, just like what this thread is doing. It's not an ideal solution but it's a start and it helps people who are tired of the current state of the internet. Maybe something like that already exists?

Found this guys blog yesterday, has a ton of neat reads on there about Amiga/Commodore internal stuff, (also just realised earlier that he's one of the guys that first hacked the X360 too..)

They've also posted some neat things on github too, like the original source code for Commodore OS: https://github.com/mist64/cbmsrc

perhaps users who add engaging pages (pages users spend longer on or bookmark more often) would have their additions weighted higher in a not entirely random algorithm. So new pages from reputable sources would be served more than unproven contributors. Anyone submitting ads/cancer would have their rep penalized by mods or directly by user flags perhaps.

>namecheap for a 1 shekel domain name.
to be honest desu, the whole www needs to be binned.
you can own your own servers, but dns is just something you rent, and internest "service" itself is monopolized by authoritarian censor and surveillance prone corborate beasts like AT&T, which undermines the decentralization and resilience the internet was originally designed by the military to be.
there can bw no return to the days of the early internet until these crentralized choke points of mass surveillance and censorship can be overcome — such as by tor, i2p, cjdns, nntp, hyperborea, and other tools.
we can rebuild it, but not on the old, tainted legacy internet system.
>>
>>70971068
There's no will to "reforest the Internet", the old Internet was replaced by Facebook, Youtube, Blogging sites, Reddit, etc. and is never coming back. You'll never recapture the Wild West feeling of it all because its been developed now.

Some hobbyist cryptographers site that I found while researching for a hobby project of my own:
http://www.quadibloc.com/

Outstanding article about people who want to cut off their limbs because of body dysmorphia from 2000, eerily prophetic considering the present-day tranny craze:
https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2000/12/a-new-way-to-be-mad/304671/

Solar powered webserver writeup running on the server itself (many people seem to be shitting on it though):
https://solar.lowtechmagazine.com/2018/09/how-to-build-a-lowtech-website.html
>>
Here's another site I stumbled upon while researching, it lives somewhere forgotten in a UK unis directory structure. The link is an index to the static HTML pages that make up some Russian students' research on the Enigma machine.
http://www.macs.hw.ac.uk/~foss/valentin/
(be prepared, the website takes forever to respond and some backgrounds make pages impossible to read)
Strangely the dude put up a saved html rendering of an email in his yandex.ru email account from forever ago:
http://www.macs.hw.ac.uk/~foss/valentin/msg.html
The experience of finding this was really strange.

>>
>>70982562
Oh, absolutely. It's also part of why I haven't actually gotten serious about researching this topic further; it'll attract horny pedophiles, people who exaggerate or straight up lie, all sorts. No one is forced to believe what I wrote either and it of course would be met by people who would claim I myself am lying and just made everything I said up.

There is truly no way to discuss this topic entirely in an unbiased light and that's understandable. I'll just continue to sit on it as I always have.

What's stopping you? You can't program? Learn.

protip: don't make anything browser-dependent. You will be using the same browser in 10 years? I did this 10 years ago. Have a couple thousand links classified by tags, searchable, with a revision system that tells me if I liked them in the past, how long I haven't visited them, can suggest related links, etc. No one needs AI, just brains.
>>
>>70970240
>how search engines work
Were you around in the 90/2000s? I could type "Sailor Moon" and get all kinds of nerdy websites, fanart, stories, good stuff. Now if I try that, the top 20 links are fucking videos, SEO-enhanced blogs, amazon shit, buy collectors' edition manga, wikipedia, and absolutely no fan sites. Want the 90s internet back.

We need curated indexes by people, not corporations.
>>
>>71000155
And we wonder why the "good old web" fell apart. The web is not professional retards tending to it everyday.

The original dream of having your own webpage up there for ever, without maintenance or reviewing it or fixing it for new browsers or having to move it because geocities went bust is a good one tho. We need to do it. But who's gonna pay for the infrastructure? It was universities in the 90s. Now we need at least a base level of educated/engaged/smart people to commit their PCs 24/7, so negros and other subhumans will be able to help. It's down to the white and nerdy who gives a shit about tech.

all the fan sites, pure html diy sites, sites dedicated to micro niche scenes at nowhereville in 2003....imagine all that, made by will and love alone and now picture all those domains bought by anonymous megacorp and now forever languishing as parking domains. all the content scraped ages ago, or lost forever in the deep web

the worst part is how quick it happened. I can remember still visiting an html site dedicated to 90s emo bands in like 2010, all made by hand and with contributions from people all over the place, some content having been snail mailed and then scanned by the owner.
but we have to face the fact that internet is gone now. sad!
