I'm looking for beater chelsea boots for this fall/winter and found these miu miu (women) chelsea boots on ebay.
Even though Miu Miu doesn't do men shoes these seem fine.
What do you guys think?

>People use chelsea boots as beaters?
You can use any pair of shoes as "beaters." Those are simply shoes you don't care about.

>I can't imagine anyone wearing these ugly things[...]
Chelsea boots are ugly? That's news to me.

>[...]for anything other than giving other men blowjobs
I suspect you're a virgin.

>The idea of someone in chelseas stomping around in the snow makes me laugh
I don't have to ever set foot on snow even when it's snowing (usually 3 days a year) because I don't live in the countryside.

How is the break in on the White's?
>>
>>14464731
Really depends on the leather. CXL probably is comfy from day one, but their thicker work leathers probably take a week or so. I really started feeling comfy in mine after that long
>>
>>14464740
Asking about CXL. On my 1K's it was alright right out of the box, pretty sure White's is thicker though.
>>
>>14464764
White's isn't thicker, it's just clicked better. Wolverine will use parts of the hide that shouldn't make it onto a boot to save money. White's will only use what the one doing the clicking deems suitable for a boot. It's the quality that is different, not necessarily the thickness or stiffness.

they're vaguely effeminate, a little slimmer and pointier than a man's boot should be, that being said Miu Miu is a quality brand and the shoes look fine. chelseas not my thing tho desu

>>14464944
I don't like the loop on front but again chelseas not my thing. I do like how the elastic part is wide
>>
>>14464961
the 1460 is a different leather, and yes plenty of very high end ones :)
>>
>>14464944
Blundstone are very entry level but the colour of the "Original 500" is nice and similar to that of the RM Williams boot.

If you get a pair and they fit you, I imagine you'll be happy with them.
>>
>>14464954
>How is the leather?

It's garbage; it's more like plastic. If you absolutely must buy Dr Martens, at least consider getting the *Hard Life* or MIE models. They leather is actually some what okay at that price point.

But then again, you might as well just buy Solovair at that point.

It's not gonna fall apart but it is rather plasticy, if you can get them new for like $50 then it's decent maybe a bit more but stay well under 100

Hey guys, big foot here (us14).

What colour and style boots should I have in my wardrobe?

A true UK 13 would be a 14US on a brannock device. But if you're sneakers are in 13 (UK or US?) you may be wearing the wrong size because sneakers are generally 1 size up from your brannock (so a 14 brannock would wear 14.5-15 sneakers).

Anyway, if you're a 14US, you'd probably need a 13.5 or 13US boot.

I couldn't really find very much for you. I'm not sure if it's a lack of trying on my part, or that there just aren't many bootmakers in the "low" price range that have the right makeup.

So I'm brannock 14B (width at this size is meaningless because my Whites are 13EE) and I found it *extremely* difficult to find shoes that fit me. If you're in the US you've got it easier but it's difficult in the UK without spending some cash.

The problem is so many boot companies don't do half sizes at our shoe size. I found that if I tried (for example) Red Wing in a 13D-US, the length would be fine but the width would be too narrow (Red Wing don't do EE width in large sizes). Wolverine don't do wide fit in the UK either.

I've had a lot of luck with Loake. Quite expensive but the Loake Bedale in 12.5G (UK) fits me very well and they're a really good pair of shoes... but they cost £265.

I ended up sending my measurements to Whites and importing a custom pair. They fit me extremely well as a result.

Sorry if my response is a bit of a mess. The boot with is pretty difficult when you have big feet. I've probably tried about 30 different pairs of shoes in the last 1.5 years and only now have I had success so I'm more than happy to pass my knowledge onto others

I'm literally an autistic shoe wizard

The important thing is to make your proportions look lean as possible. If you’re slim you can wear tighter clothes and jeans and sleeker footwear. If you’re bigger, you have to only wear chunkier footwear, wider jeans, and jackets. The secret to Hedi’s style is to wear clothes to visually elongate yourself. Long straight lines are important. Have the clothes fit you instead of chasing after trends.

>if your height is proportionate to your foot size
This is overly simplistic and also incorrect.

Height itself is not what makes a given foot size look proportionate or disproportionate....

It has more to do with weight. There are many average/shorter height males (I work in a shoe store) with very long feet. But by and large, almost to a T, they are naturally very thick men. Thick legs, and buttocks, thick and heavy.

Foot length is proportionate to skeletal density and thickness. The thicker, more heavy set they body is, the longer the foot and more pronounced it must be to retain the balance and posture. This is decided in the womb.

The thicker your legs are, the longer the foot will be.

These are just my own anecdotal observations, but they are coming from a very large first hand sample size.

Conversely, I have seen lots of tall (>6 feet) with relatively short feet, in the Size 9 US range, but almost to a T, every single one of these males, is very LIGHT framed. Very tall and skinny skeletal structure goes with shorter more slender feet.
>>
>>14476083
>EE
This is basically a very wide shoe. Mostly Italian sizes and designers, on the upper end, will use this system. What it means is that if you are a natural 45 (12 US), you will take a 44EE. But that 44 is really more like a 45, or UK 11. A normal 44, is more like a UK 10
>>
>>14476083
the UK US and EU all use different shoe size systems. It is virtually impossible to ever say
>I'm a 12 US so I am always an 11 UK, 45 EU
>>
>>14477557
Well of course, at the end of the day, they're all just *numbers*. But the more numbers you have (i.e, the more shoes sizes you know which work and don't work), the more you can get a feel for different brands.
>>
>>14477277

>>14477570
I guess.
>Toe Box shape, Height, 3d and 2d shape
>Material type, elasticity
>Sole Type, does it wrap up and over the upper, like chuck taylors
>>Vamp Height
>heel to ball length
>hell to toe length

Because I have shoes that are not good in size, bc of the upper being too "short", like it's not tall enough, where your top of the foot and the laces are. But then, bc the leather is just soft enough, it stretches out over a couple weeks of wearing them.

The cheaper the shoe is, the cheaper the leather, the more likely you wont be happy with the fit.
that isn't even the length of the shoe at all, but it can make one pair end up fitting versus one being too loose. And when you have shoes without laces, it matters.

You want a real answer?
Quick getting on and off. You put the boot on, tie the laces and adjust the buckle. From then on out you're good to just unbuckle and unzip instead of unlooping the whole boot. I have a pair of 5.11 that have it, real comfy shit.
Dunno how you fashion tards don't know anything about boot functionality in a boot thread.
