Remember to drink water
>>14321104Man I love me some red heads. They are right next to my fav which is blonde hair/blue eyes.>>14321164How much? I've always heard 8 cups a day but that sounds pretty insane to drink that much in a day.
>>14321243According to Mayo 15.5 cups a dayWhich sounds insane
>>14321249Well....time to bring my 5 gallon jug of water to work in every day. At least I'll be able to take long pee breaks ever 15-30min
What should I do with what feels like a developing breakout?
Any recs for an aftershave that will help prevent razor burn and won't make me smell like a grandpa?
>>14321249>>14321243>How much?I heard there's no specific amount and generally just drink whenever you're thirsty.

Are you the Anon who posted about SEBACEOUS HYPERPLASIA in January?I'd just like to inform you that your condition can be treated using both oral isotretinoin (Accutane) as well as manual extraction (lancing & laser pinholing). Since your derm doesn't seem to know this then see one who does.
>>14321243>>14321249very arbitrary and obsolete recommendations.current advice is "drink when thirsty" and "the point of saying 'drink more water' is to drink less soda"

Remember to wear sunscreen

>>14323084This what am I doing wrong!

Anyone have advice about acne scars? Also, I feel like my skin is just shit in general. Saggy and aged. If I stretch it by putting a finger under each eye and pushing up, my skin looks 200% better. Do I need a facelift? I'm only 25.

>>14321243>>14321249>>14321724Drink until your urine is transparent or near-transparent. Thats literally the whole point of urine. I live in a desert. Ironically, the city I live in has an above-average amount of drownings, because we're obviously not very knowledgeable about water safety. Conversely, you retarded Northerners and Midwesterners live in wetter areas and thus aren't as conscientious about proper hydration, so ignore assholes telling you to drink arbitrary amounts of water. It takes quite a bit of water until you're drinking an unreasonable amount of water.
>>14324131http://time.com/4034899/pee-urine-color/>Urologist Dr. Courtenay Moore says a pale straw color - almost clear, but not quite - is ideal. If your pee is crystal clear, you’re probably drinking too much H20, which can throw off your electrolyte balance in potentially harmful ways. “Your body can normally regulate its water and sodium levels pretty well,” Moore says. “But if your urine is clear and you’re peeing 20 times a day, you’re drinking water excessively.”https://www.healthline.com/health/clear-urine>Colorless urine is sometimes due to drinking an excess of water, while other times it can signal a problem with the kidneys. If your urine is consistently clear or absent of color, you should see a doctor.https://www.precisionhydration.com/blogs/hydration_advice/does-having-clear-pee-really-mean-youre-well-hydrated>there’s definitely not a simple and linear relationship between actual hydration status and the colour of your pee. >Because the “clear pee = well hydrated” message has been pushed so hard, I’ve witnessed highly motivated athletes over-drinking routinely in a bid to always pass large quantities of transparent urine, in the firm belief that anything less than that is somehow sub-optimal>Conversely, if you’re always seeing very clear-coloured pee, then maybe you could think about dialling back your fluid intake a touch to see if you’re over-doing it a bit.

Thus, an average diet of 1,900 calories per day would dictate an intake of 1,900 ml (approximately 64 ounces) of water. >However, people interpreted this as a recommendation to drink 1,900 ml of pure water, forgetting the fact that water is also found in abundance in the other liquids and foods we consume.
>>14324488It may be too much if you sit on your ass all day on 4chan but when you're constantly exercising all day long working outside in the desert you end up drinking that much just to compensate for sweating so much.

Any tips on getting rid of strawberry legs?
>>14324557You do know that almost 15% Americans work in physically demanding jobs like construction, road work, or agriculture? Combined with shitty sugary diet drinking some extra water isn't a bad idea as long as you monitor your electrolytes.
>>14324584so almost 15% of all Americans may fulfill the>constantly exercising all day long working outsidepart of >>14324557 even though nearly none of those jobs mean "constantly exercising" given modern machinery and tools.and not that many of them are even in desert environments, since those are the least populated regions in the US.so an absolute minimum of 85% (more like +95%) of Americans will definitely not need to drink that much.in other words... not applicable to most people at all.
>>14324620I'm not saying that every American should be drinking that much water, that'd be dumb. I'm just saying that it's very dependent on what sort of lifestyle you have. Just because the "authorities" have changed their mind once again on how much water we should or shouldn't be drinking doesn't mean shit to me. I just drink enough to make me feel like I'm healthy. I feel better drinking 6-ish liters vs 3-ish. Every person's body operated on a different level of efficiency.
>>14324637>that'd be dumbindeed
>>14324465what did I do wrong? I'm a neet so didn't have much sun damage, not a smoker, or heavy drinker. I never popped my pimples, just some of them formed into scars once they healed.

What does effay think about Dollar shave club?I'm poor so I'm constantly making new accounts to get my equivalent of a month's shave for only $5. It's not perfect but better than retail razors.
>>14324561Following up on this. Google only provides fixes for females who shave their legs, no dudes who are bumpy.
STOP USING DIRTY PILLOWCASES!
>>14324743You need to wash your face Anon, like at least once a day, preferably when you wake up and when you go to bed. The oils and grime on your face are contributing to early aging. You should get some sun or at least take some vitamins. Light exercise will increase your rate of capillary formation and make any scars that are currently forming heal faster. There's not much you can do about already formed scars except >>14325224
>>14325230Yeah, I guess I don't wash my face as often as I should, and I probably don't get enough Vit. D. Is the damage already done in those respects?
>>14325254Once scar tissue forms it's kinda hard get your skin looking normal again. I'd probably see a dermatologist if it's bad, otherwise some non-prescription brands have like oils that are supposed to be good for scarring but it seems pretty bogus just based on the science.
>>14325278Well I've started microneedling sessions, and monthly chemical peels. I've been watching a lot of Davin Lim's videos on YouTube, and hopefully I'll afford some laser treatment soon.
>>14325292What are you using for the peel? I think lasers are pretty much the only way to go if you want any sort of drastic results, but I haven't really heard much about microneedling
>>14325327My dermatologist is performing the peels, he's using a TCA peel at 18%, and microneedling at 1.5mm. My scars aren't drastic, they're classified as light, but in the wrong lighting I really feel ugly. Something he recommended also was subscision and fillers to get my skin as good as it possibly can be, but I can't afford that now.I'm seeing good results with the microneedling, but it's still early (had 2 sessions of both microneedling and peels).
>>14325336Fuck yeah dude, if they're not like super deep or anything then it should help.
>>14324242Again transparent or near-transparent--not in excess of that.
Recommend a good facemask, please, clay or otherwise
>>14325500I really like the boscia peel off masks, some people say that they make their eyes irritated so if you use them keep it away from your eyes
>>14325515It's a little on the more expensive side, but I'll see if I can try it out.Is the Aztec healing clay a meme? It's super popular and apparently you mix it with other shit for better effects
>>14325559Expensive? Anon are you new to skincare?
>>14325559masks aren't really needed if you use some kind of daily exfoliator
>>14325632Anon, you're not supposed to buy the expensive stuff unless skincare is a hobby for you and you live in the first world. If you don't check out any of those then it would be wise to reconsider spending any more than $20 on any single product.
>>14324890i just buy the cheapest razors in any basic store im in and im not even poor... but to be fair i dont grow a massive beard. as for dollar shave club, seems like a lot efford and its so over shilled i dont use it out of principle

Any suggested teas good for skin care? I've been drinking black tea lately to deal with some psoriasis flare ups on my fingers and hands and it has been working really well so far.
>>14326595In what world is $20 expensive?
Guys please give me advice on how to get rid of oily skin and skin scars.I tried countless gels and creams in my battle against acne and now that it's died down A BIT scars are a bigger problem.I stopped using gels because they make my skin really really oily. I'm in need of dire help, it's the only thing making me look ugly, I'd look fine otherwise.
>>14326787>it has been working really well so far.no, it hasn't. you're confusing yourself with a double-blind placebo-controlled trial on a group of people
>>14321104I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
I have quite some uneven acne scarred skin from acne in my teens (dumbass), it's especially noticeable in sunlight/strong lights. It could be worse, but it still affects me. What can I do about it other than professional stuff like laser treatments? I've heard about dermarolling, but I also heard it's not safe to do at home... should I give it a try? Any ingredients in skincare I should look for?
>>14327415Microneedling and stuff like that should be done by a pro honestly. In terms of ingredients you should look for I'd get a strong toner (like 10% acid or higher) and something with a lot of vitamin C
>>14327163Past those 20 bucks you're essentially entering a territory of premixed products that would cost less if applied separately.>>14327422>like 10% acid or higherHigher concentration acids are mostly peels and shouldn't be used on a daily basis.
>>14327545Anon do you not understand proprietary formulas?
>>14327575Sounds like scam to me.
>>14327580Are luxury cars a scam too? Or are they the same thing as a Kia? Things that are more expensive are that way for a reason usually
Do I get the same effect from a small amount of high spf sunscreen as of large amount of a weaker one?
>>14327663Spf X means that 1/x of the UV rays get to your skin. So twice as much of spf 15 is much less effective than spf 30
>>14321331For me, it's De La Cruz 10% Sulfur Ointment. I put this stuff on a developing cyst or white head. It's the only thing that really dries out or brings my cysts to a head (I usually have blind cysts) without scarring (I have tan skin that easily scars). I put a little bit on for about a 15 minutes to 1.5 hours. Be careful, if you leave it on for too long, it can easily irritate your skin.If the info helps you, I think I have hormonal acne.
>>14323970I was in a similar boat and I have had some success with these products/routine (I think the most important thing is moisturizing and using sunscreen consistently):1) I started using hyaluronic acid and I have noticed my scars fading a little bit faster and my skin looks brighter. I use this brand>https://www.amazon.com/Spring-Valley-Hyaluronic-Acid-Serum/dp/B07FL5528GIt looks like there are waaay better brands out there (I am just broke).2) Make sure you wear sunscreen EVERY DAY (even if you stay indoors most of the day -- you can tan and darken scars by sitting near windows and taking short trips outside). I use the Kids Australian Gold Botanicals for my body (it is pretty matte, so some people think it feels too drying -- I like it because I hate greasy feeling sunscreens)>https://www.amazon.com/Australian-Gold-Hypoallergenic-Pediatrician-Dermatologist/dp/B07DG52KLZI use the the tinted version of the sunscreen for my face>https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M8G39OW/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_t1_1821CbTGVRKTF3) I also put lotion on my body after every shower. This has helped reduce the appearance of my scars from shoulder and butt acne. I use this CeraVe lotion>https://www.cerave.com/skincare/moisturizers/moisturizing-cream4) I clean makeup off with micellular water and use Vanicream Cleanser to wash my face>https://www.amazon.com/Vanicream-Gentle-Cleanser-sensitive-Dispenser/dp/B00QY1XZ4W5) I use this green tea peeling gel to exfoliate>https://beautymnl.com/products/32736-pure-skin-green-tea-peeling-gel
>>14328164Thanks. I actually have hyaluronic acid in my bathroom. How do I use it? Before moisturising?
>>14328164The list isn't in much of an order btw. My order is usually>remove makeup/sunscreen>cleanser>exfoliate every other day or every 2 days>a little bit of cleanser if I used the exfoliant>hyaluronic acid>cerave >sunscreen
>>14328174I use it before moisturizing. I usually put it on and wait 15 minutes before putting on moisturizer
>>14328178Thanks. And do you have indented scars like rolling/boxcar, or just hyper pigmentation red marks?I already take 2x hyaluronic acid pills per day, as I read in this study that it helps with anti-aging:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5871318/
I got a question. For my face, I currently use a BHA and then wait maybe 5 minutes to let it dry before applying lotion.Should I be waiting longer? I'm not really sure how long I should let the BHA soak.
>>14328571As long as it's dried down it should be fine.
>>14328187I have mostly PIE and PIH and some little patches of rolling and boxcar areas. The hyaluronic acid has definitely improved the PIH and rolling scars. It seems to be working more slowly at the PIE. I have not tried taking hyaluronic pills. I doubt it could hurt to try!
>>14321104I'm a 30-year old woman (white) with bad facial acne (especially on my chin and cheeks) and terrible back acne. I feel so greasy and disgusting. Best way to get rid of it?
>>14328659the acne.org regime is really good, have you tried that? also stridex patches help for back acne, as well as face. what's your skincare routine now? i know reddit is meme'd to fuck on this site, but /r/skincareaddiction is a good resource for this.
>>14328659Accutane/isotretinoinI bought mine from china (purplepandalabs) and a precision balance. I take 30mg a day when pimples start to show up usually 2-3 weeks they are all gone.
>>14328659seconding this because i have terrible shoulder and back acne and it's hard to reach even with those long shower brushes
so is pic related good for washing my face in the morning? if not, recommend me something good.

Anyone gave any recommendation for eczema? I constantly get eczema on my fucking ballsac and it's infuriating. It gets so bad that it cracks and bleeds. I've tried vaseline, creams, gels, pastes, nothing seems to fucking work. I only use Cetaphil to scrub my lower region. I wear a mix of tight cotton underwear and loose boxers depending on what activities I'm doing. When I'm at home I moisturize like every hour or it comes back. At work or when I'm at work I have to ignore the burning itch of 10,000 suns. Some of you just /fa/ggots have to deal with eczema, what do you use? Ive been to two dermatologists and as far as I can tell you they're a scam. They both said "yup that's ezcema, somethings causing it and IDK that it is LOL. Good luck out there loser".
>>14328571If you really want to get into the whole "waiting time" issue you can read an earlier post I made. It contains a few links worth reading through independent of what logic you support more.https://warosu.org/fa/thread/S14250850#p14256582Since that post I have expanded my knowledge on the "manufacturer" position with another article from PC:https://www.paulaschoice.com/expert-advice/skincare-advice/myths/the-ultimate-guide-to-ph-and-your-skin.htmlTheir argument is explained further and tells that each product if formulated correctly should retain its acidity regardless of what other items are added afterwards. Basically the pH of the skin isn't a factor at all in this at any point. In contrast the popular internet opinion holds that skin's pH as influenced by various products would influence other products that come suite or components therein so that's why letting it balance out over a period of time towards normal skin pH is beneficial in not ruining products that come after.Whatever opinion feels more sound, you should still make sure that the products are dry before laying anything else further.>>14329559Absolutely clear urine is a waste of water and pure inconvenience. If you try to drink as much as you can to fill out the quota of 2 litres or 8 cups and only piss clear then there should be no risks in simply drinking less.>>14329506Expensive unless you buy the 0.5 or 1 litre bottles. And with additional fragrances to make you feel more "fresh" it seems to be formulated more as a male-targeted product than a simply honest cleanser.>recommend me something good. That depends on your skin or at least look in the sticky.>>14329592Look for skincare brands that make products for "atopic" skin. I can suggest these, but depending on where you live they may not be available:http://www.bioderma.com/en/our-products/atodermhttps://www.labo-svr.com/world/dermatology/atopic-skinsThere are sprays to reduce itchiness as well there.
Currently I use Avene products; from Thermal Water to SPF moisturizing cream but has anyone tried The Ordinary products? Are they good to start getting into more complex skin routines? The general routines here: https://theordinary.com/regimenguide look ok, but I would want to shell 100 euros for some products I have never tried yet. Tips for starting would be great.

I really love the recommended routine, it's so simole and my skin is way better now. So much so that there really is no reason to even see this thread after a few weeks of daily discipline. Gj to whoever wrote it
>>14330104cool. what do you use and what changes did you see?
How do I get rid of my acne and acne scars, I've tried everything... shit ton of drinking water, shower and moisturizer. Would really appreciate if someone has gone through this and could help a brother out.
>>14329559No. Completely clear urine indicates either kidney problems or excess of water. Near-clear is correct.
>>14327196for scars i'd look into retinols or retinoids. i'd say try to go with the latter since it's not gonna give you irritation. oily skin is difficult, look for things with niacinamide? i've heard good things about hylamide's pore flush
What's /fa/'s opinion on Tati's halo brand?https://halobeauty.com/pages/halo-glowThe pictures look promising and i have the same sort of acne on my cheeks and stuff.

>>14321164Hydration helping complexion is proven to be a myth I thought?
>>14330852Proper hydration is part and parcel of overall health. If you skin's healthy then it not only looks better, but it doesn't age as dramatically. It's not like water is some miracle substance that will clear up your crazy acne or anything, but it is one of the easiest and cheapest things you can do to help keep your skin looking just that little bit better.

Posting my routine and looking for feedback. It's better but I have some problematic spots that keep popping up.Dickinson's witch hazel Cetaphil spf 15 (been thinking about switching to 30 spf with hyaluronic acid) moisturizer Differin gel at night And vasanti exfoliator twice a week I still break out but the spots don't last as long. Any suggestions? I also have a Cetaphil shower wash but I feel as that breaks me out.
I have dry/sensitive skin so washing twice a day will be excessive, should I be cleansing in the morning or at night?
so in the /fa/ rec list it says to use a cleanser and a toner. But i have been using a cleaner and moisturiser. Is there a reason why not to use a moisturiser in the morning? Here is my current routine, recs would be appreciated.Morning -Apply Cetaphil cleanser in showerDry face and apply Australian creams goats milk moisturiserUse different fingers to apply 5% benzac on red marks/popped pimplesNight -Do the exact same thing but apply cetaphil while not in the shower.Current routine leaves me with a bit of acne on my forehead only. >>14331508You may want to cleanse in the morning to be as "fresh" for the day to come and to remove any potential sweat accumulated during sleep. How is Vichy as a brand? I'm fairly new to this and they apparently have a three in one product(moisturizer /cleanser/exfoliating) for cheap
>>14332314Never used them but that sounds terrible. Any sort of combined product like that is usually cheap and infective.

>>14332682It depends on if you're having any problems. If it's working fine then don't fuck with it, unless you're going to add in some anti-aging/wrinkle prevention product.
Why is my nose perpetually red, i will never get a GF looking like i do with it. My skin is not nice in general. I just wash it with water and use some moisturizer after i shower and i drink around 2-3l of water a day. My dad has a similar nose so it is probably genetic.
>>14333162You can't just wash your face with water retard.
>>14333162Haha I have a GF and MY NOSE IS RED TOO HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>14332314Pretty much everything sold by "beauty conglomerate" that own multiple brands is shit unless you buy from the "luxury" tier brand. They don't want to cuck the luxury brand with good midrange product... That's why Korean/Japanese skincare products are so popular, they have high concentration of active ingredients at low prices because skincare simply isn't seen as a luxury market. The ordinary is also banking on that idea.

My face gets really red with even the slightest amount of sun, what can I do? I have rosacea, is there any salvation for me?
>>14321104>Panda eyes>How do I notI put suntan around my eyes to limit more darkening. I use hyaloronic acid creams etc. Even a dermaroller (1mm) to boost collagen etc, but the skin around my eyes age fucking fast, I'm 29 and it's already noticably (for me) thinner and a little bit saggier. I also have very dark skin around my eyes and I don't know how to make it lighter or how to make it look good.
Any tips on losing a tan? Is just exfoliating and using sunscreen enough? My skin is darker than i wish it'd be.
Let's talk pillows, /skin/. Pic related obiously is too ridiculous so the best thing would be a stiff pillow with a silk sheet? I get some horrendous morning wrinkles with my current mushy pillow.
I started last month with a routine of cetaphil gentle cleansing bar, stridex pads, then the cetaphil advanced lotion(Yeah, I'm still looking for a sunscreen). My face looks more livelier but some acne still pops up, from time to time. After applying the moisturizer, since I sweat really easily, I need to wipe off my face and I feel like I'm stripping my face with what I just put on. Also, I'm very oily, so after 3-5 hours, I need to use an oil film to remove it. Is there anything that I should add or change here? Also, can I transfer my moisturizer in a little bottle(like those hand carry alcohols or lotion)? Should I sanitize it then just dry them out and transfer it there?
>>14321104someone explain this? is it possible to get this type of skin using products? (pic related)
>>14337321Unless you've got a specific day cream you should really be only moisturizing right before bed, most good sunscreens will have moisturizing properties and you should be using them during the day instead. They'll be less oily too.
>>14337329If by products you mean foundation/concealer/BB cream then yes. Diet is also super important as hormonal balance has a big affect on acne. Genetics also has a part to play in how clear your skin is. Most skincare is preventative in nature, e.g. wrinkle prevention.
>>14337350he's wearing makeup?why has no one outed him if he is?
>>14337330I see. Problem is, I work at night. So before I get out of office at daytime, I should follow the same routine, and instead apply sunscreen? Or should I just apply sunscreen, then clean my face(same routine) once I get home? Also, I sweat a ton, so when I go to work at night, I need to wipe my face off and someone from here advised that I should reapply moisturizer again, once I'm in my comfy office. So would the bottle thing that I've asked earlier, feasible?

>>14337375I'd cleanse and put on sunscreen, or a day cream if it's night time, right when you wake up. The idea with moisturizing before bed is that you won't be active and get all sweaty so it had a chance to absorb while you sleep. Look into maybe getting a hydrating mist that you can keep in your office with your blotting paper?
>>14337402>Look into maybe getting a hydrating mist that you can keep in your officeWill look into it, thanks fren. So, just cleanser then sunscreen? Also, should I do my evening routine(day) here once I'm back home(air really is polluted here in the city)?
>>14337437Yeah, you usually wanna leave stuff like toner and masks for your evening (I guess morning?) routine. I'm not super clear on the science behind it but my irl friend works at corporate for Sephora in product selection for skincare and she's always been told to keep the morning routine pretty small, and to pull out all the stops before bed. The companies that make most skincare products say the same thing and I'm sure if anybody knows how to use something correctly it'd be the people who make it.
>>14337396how do you notice this stuff? are you female?
>>14337509It's pretty obvious if you've ever seen anyone, female or not, put on makeup. Nobody has a bright-ass spot right on the peak of their cheekbone, shit's highlight Anon.
Is this herpes or acne?
>>14331521You wanna apply your toner before moisturizing, not at the same time.
Why is the pastebin so shit?????Cetaphil is in bed with dermatologists. It's just like how the pharm companies are in bed with doctors prescribing Percocet. It's a garbage product that derms get a kickback for pushing constantly.

How do I get rid of this redness that I got when I had acne as a teen?
>>14338374What's your current routine anon?
>>14338407None.I mean Ive been using some moisturizer and cleanser that my gf buys for her but I only started doing so about a month ago because I never really cared about this sort of stuff. I think they are both from BiodermaI doubt that's enough to get rid of it tho so I wonder what I should be doing and buying. I don't even know what I have is called... Is it still considered acne? What's the correct name for the redness and marks?
>>14338428Firstly you want to get your own cleanser and moisturizer. Do you have oily skin, dry skin, or somewhere in between? If you don't use a product designed for your skin type you probably won't be doing much of anything besides cleaning off dirt. Once you get a good routine you can start adding and trying out different products to see what you like and what helps. What's your budget look like anon? Also are you in a city with a Sephora or Ulta, or will you be ordering stuff online?
>>14338449>Do you have oily skin, dry skin, or somewhere in between?I'd say i have oily skin but since iv'e been paying more attention to my skin i feel like it's "normal" now, cleaner, smoother.. I don't know how to explain it, maybe it's just my impression really, but when i dont use anything it gets oily >What's your budget look like anon?I can buy stuff but i won't waste a lot of money on it. Im about to be 26, i'd enjoy getting my face smooth and clean again but the time to go balls deep and waste tons of money on products has gone by, i feel like. I know these things get pretty expensive, what's a good number i should aim for?>Also are you in a city with a Sephora or Ulta, or will you be ordering stuff online?I dont know, like i said i never really bothered with it. I'd rather buy it from a physical store but ordering online is not a problem either
Why use sunscreen? Haven't heard about it before and cant find why I should
>>14338464If your city has a Sephora I'd either go in or ask your gf to go in and ask for some samples. I don't know about Ulta's policy but at Sephora they'll give you little one-use cups of pretty much anything in the store and you can get like 2-3 at a time. I'd start with cleansers and then do moisturizers, I'd try as many different products from as many brands as you can, even the expensive ass stuff, just so you can get an idea of what a really good product can do for your face. You're not going to be able to get a really thorough impression of how each one is going to effect your skin but it should help narrow it down a bit. Once you find a couple brands you like then I'd either cop a cleanser and moisturizer, wait for a sale, or if you have some extra free time: go to every TJ Maxx/Marshalls type overstock store with a makeup section. All of their products are either overstocked, soon to be discontinued, or just didn't sell well. I find crazy good deals on upper middle to low high priced brands there pretty frequently, you just have to go in knowing what to look for, which is why you want to sample as much as you can from a makeup store first. If you do go to a secondary store or are buying anything that you're not trying first I'd recommend sticking to brands that you've at least tried and if something seems too good for it's price compared to a brand name version it's probably a knock-off and has inferior formulation/ingredient quality/or is just plain fake. It might take a week or two to find something you like but once you do then you can slowly fill out your routine with additional products if you want or just keep it simple if you want to save money.
>>14337930Stockholm i mitt hjääääärtaaaa
>>14338480Skin cancer and it makes your face age less dramatically, it's just a general preventative thing that helps your skin looking smooth and soft instead of leathery and dry.
>>14338493Thanks. So by doing that do you reckon i'll get rid of these red marks or eventually i'll have to add a product just for that to my routine?
>>14338503I'm not a dermatologist or anything and I don't want to make it sound like this'll for sure fix all of your skin problems, but having a clean and healthy face is most definitely the first step either way. There are plenty of products for anti-redness, and an exfoliating cleanser might be something to look for too. The hardest part is figuring out what works best on your skin. If you do find stuff you like and it's not really clearing up I'd consider adding a toner to your routine. Toners are a chemical treatment, usually acid, that you put on your problem spots after you wash your face but before you moisturize to help remove anything stuck in your pores like dead skin and oils built up from acne. One big rule of thumb is to stay away from anything that contains alcohol, as it's pretty horrible for your face.
>>14338500>>14338480Prevention of ageing is obviously the main point, but some treatments require use of a sunscreen to prevent sun related damage, namely when using AHAs or retinoids as they increase skin's sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation.
>>14339386True, I totally spaced that aspect out. Pretty much anything whitening/brightening is going to make your skin more sensitive to the sun.
Lads, gotta be real here. I used to have shit tier skin. Covered in acne. It was inescapable. I tried every single product, every single regimen, everything. Then I tried nothing. I didn’t even wash my face. I just showered in the morning and made sure I drank 64oz water each day. I started using an electric shaver with a guard to avoid irritating anything else. My skin got better in under one month. I was just irritating the hell out of my face.
>>14339437Skincare products should be just a part of your routine. Drinking water, eating right, and not having raging hormones has a surprisingly dramatic effect on your face. If you have especially bad acne skincare isn't really going to be able to fix that alone, or it might not even help at all. It's like putting a band-aid and some neosporin on an infected stab wound. Most of the stuff recommended in the OP is either snake-oil or even counter productive to an actually healthy face, it's all about balance anon. If your balance is not using any products for acne then that's pretty great.
Can men use women products? Today the lady at the counter told me women have "different" skin. Do wamen have different skin???
>>14339676No, that's a bunch of BS. Women are just more willing to spend money on expensive skincare. I'm sure that lady makes commission and didn't want to waste her time trying to sell you stuff that you're statistically unlikely to end up buying.
>>14339676This shouldn't impact what you purchase in terms of skincare. >Several studies have compared the biophysical properties of the skin between men and women. For some parameters, the same results were generally reported. For example, sebum content is higher in men because sebum is highly influenced by sex hormones. Also, skin pigmentation and thickness are significantly higher, facial wrinkles are deeper, and facial sagging is more prominent in the lower eyelids of men, but there is no significant difference in skin elasticity between the sexes.
>>14339464>Most of the stuff recommended in the OP is either snake-oil or even counter productive to an actually healthy facewhat are you referring to? the tuxbell wiki? pastebin? external links?
>>14339912The tuxbell has a bit of misinformation but it's not blatantly wrong like the pastebin is. Whoever wrote it clearly hasn't stepped foot in a beauty store, let alone researched and tested any product besides what their boomer mom recommended from Walmart. Skincare isn't a cheap hobby if you want actually improve your complexion. Unless you actually put time and effort into finding brands and products that are tailored to your skin type and lifestyle you're not going to get any results. At best you'll be delaying the inevitable worsening of your skin. If you don't have any bad areas on your face and your skin is relatively clear then skincare besides washing your face is just a hobby really. If you don't go all in with skincare you're just wasting money and time.

What do you do with products that don't play well with your skin? Skin at parts other than the face is thicker so breakout are very unlikely. Should I start moisturizing my neck and upper chest with them as well?
