Let us attempt a cyberpunk thread.Techwear babbies need not apply

does this count?
>>14227526not with that autism anorak and those shoes
I wanna larp but I live in a mid-sized midwestern city I’d look like such a fucking tool dressing like this ten blocks from cornfields
>>14227622You look like a tool regardless of where you live, even if it's in the middle of London or Tokyo if you dress like that. Just do it anyway.
>>14227768That’s certainly one way to emphasize your rack
>>14227525This is a designated no negro safe space
>>14228102this aint a safe space for anybodynegroes can be cyberpunk but they gotta wear futuristic sunglasses like everyone else
>>14227352Guys all the way on the right look like a gay couple, the dude in the long coat has a robotic right hand and is holding on to the arm of the other guy.
>>14227768she's brilliant, love her vids.
I thought about making shit like this before, seem both fun and profitable
I am intrigued by the dusters they wear in this film.
>>14228810Just find a technological reason for that huge neckguard and you have a new market. Easiest I can see is simply affixing bluetooth X into it and having an app that activates it. >Neck/shoulder massager on the go>Temperature control, can be a heater or a space cooler>The obvious MP3s and neck lights for flavor>Could simply be the place you store your external battery for the night so you can charge on yourself on the goLots of options. If I were less of an inspirationless retard, I would have done this ages ago.
>>14229993You should try it, I'd buy a massive neckguard for sure!Honestly this is probably not even ironic, I might genuinely consider buying one
attempted to throw together a vaguely cyber/dystopian fit. Lemme know what you think
>>14230335I like it except for the shoes.
>>14230335fucken nice man. I'd wear similar stuff but I live in Australia so fashion is impossible, let alone /cyber/ fashion
>>14230350the idea behind the shoes was to keep it from going too military and keep it more grounded in still being urban>>14230351it's all really lightweight and breathable. That jacket is less for insulation and more for rain/wind without an insulator. There's a lot of similar choices depending on the fabrics
>>14230335Attempt to explain to me in what way there's anything cyber, punk or dystopian about your basic fit. You're just dressed like "20-something human male looking for an entry-level retail job, lives in a temperate country at some point in time between 1992 and 2019, enjoys breathing air and dislikes bleeding."
>>14230358Well, they clash badly with the earthtones, and make the whole thing look tacky. Also what >>14230522 said.
>>14230522>>14230620I put vaguely because I figured it’d be a good starting point. I wanted to use a fairly limited color palette using durable pieces some less combat facing milsurp for the repurposed feel. I’ve been thinking about blending that with some accessories for more of a sort of cyber/corpy feel. I understand that it’s not punk at allAs for the shoes I felt like boots were just far too military and I wanted to keep it pretty civillian. Plus I just really like the design of those asics but they’re shoehorned in a bit. Do you think more tech accessories like a battery pack/solar charger is pushing it too much into cosplay? I’ve really been considering picking one up and diy’ing enclosures to wear them on a bag
>>14230912Nah, I reckon a solar pack or something-as long as it has a purpose, like you're actually charging your phone or whatever-would make it properly cyberpunky
>>14230912cyberpunk is essentially cosplayIf you don't include tech accessories (from before 1995, preferably) and tough guy clothes in your fit, you're never gonna look the part. Your milsurp doesn't look like milsurp (except maybe the bag) so it doesn't achieve its purpose of looking repurposed. And it's a bit frumpy and baggy, so there's no sense of the sharp clean "corpy" thing. But it's salvageable if you include a couple of cosplayish pieces into the mix.As for the shoes, I suppose you could make sneakers work if you pick the right ones, but they should make you look like you're 2kool4skool, exclusively drink Pepsi Max and skateboard every day to the arcade; Instead of making you look like you're 13, get beat up on a weekly basis and let your mom pick your clothes for you, which is what Asics will do for you.And most importantly, wear sunglasses.
>>14231011it would be a start
>>14227768>>14228804Who is she?
>>14231215Naomi Wu (SexyCyborg) she's a diyer/ open source advocate/makerher being smoking hot and that she can speak english as well as she does are just a plus She's into a lot of shit, and she does a lot of "tech wear" type stuff. Check her out on youtube, reddit and instagram. Reddit has her step by step guides for a lot of the cyberpunkish stuff she makes/wears, youtube has a lot more variety of content and insta is just pics of her looking hot. This is the pic that first gained her a lot of attention.
How about some genre inspo?
>>14233243let's go for it
i copped these safety goggles in an assorted bag of glasses for $3 and they feel very cyberpunk with the strap off
>>14233276I've worn goggles (as sunglasses) for a few years, they're a bit hard to pull off but it feels fun
Terrible film, but the scene with combichrist was fun.
>>14233348I’m making the Jared Leto face right now but I could never pull this off
>>14227352me on the right
>Another thread with no good fits with a bunch of random loosely connected forever reposted inspo images useful to nobodyPathetic
>>14228810I would unironically wear an autism jacket like this, especially if the collar actually lights up and can be used as a charger for some of my electronics or has a built in fan or something
>>14233566Nice observation jagweed. Why don't you try contributing something?
>>14233283You pretty much have to shave your head to make goggles work
>>14230335looks regular pedestrian. mostly due to those shoes.
>>14233647>>14231115I didn't realize that cyberpunk meant specifically thug/tough guy looks. I was generally going for something more pedestrian but a bit dystopian/futuristic. I figured that there was a variety. I've just had a lot of motivation to attempt some usable sci-fi/colonist feeling stuff lately so I think I made a mistake posting here I'd probably be better served posting in lunarcore threads or somethingI still genuinely like the idea of adding more cyber accessories that add utility though so I'll explore that. Thanks for the clarification
Heh... Not bad.However... You're a hundred years too early to be worthy of facing me....
>>14227530EVERYFUCKING SÖYBOY at my uni has shared this song atleast once, some secret söy code?

>>14231115>cyberpunk is essentially cosplayHollywood cyberpunk maybe. Cyberpunk/Cypherpunk is a real subculture though. https://archive.fo/d09BX
>>14234366>trousersThey're called pants, retard.
>>14234643I guess styles in general are cosplay.>Since 1990 or so, popular culture has included a movement or fashion trend that calls itself `cyberpunk', associated especially with the rave/techno subculture. Hackers have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, self-described cyberpunks too often seem to be shallow trendoids in black leather who have substituted enthusiastic blathering about technology for actually learning and doing it. Attitude is no substitute for competence. On the other hand, at least cyberpunks are excited about the right things and properly respectful of hacking talent in those who have it. The general consensus is to tolerate them politely in hopes that they'll attract people who grow into being true hackers.
>>14234644Trousers you fucking spastic
>>14234366they're long discontinued american eagle outfitters utility joggersI generally hate joggers but these have a really nice durable material that isn't stretchy in some decent colors, pic relatedI've been looking for extra pairs for a while now>>14234573yeah I might have to pick up a pair of work boots to really make this work

R.U. a CYBERPUNK?
I've decided cyber corp is the more reasonable aesthetic, most of theae examples have been more punk than cyber anyway.
>>14235804cyber corp is just a three-piece suit, a tiny yuppie ponytail, fingerless gloves and mirrorshadesOf course it's more reasonable but it's not noticeably more cyber

picked this up recentlythe backlight is pink lol
>>14242524im actually trying to wear baggier clothes lol. irl it stands out a lot more and I think its interesting to look at. Once I get enough free time( engineering is no joke lmao) im going to diy/alter a few pants and turn them into something that fits better. thanks for the feedback

>>14242243ditch the disruptors
>>14242154It is.I’m a /pol/fag and hate race mixing but Asians, Hapas and whites are the most cyberpunk races, can have other minority groups thrown in there for flavor, some big nigga wearing sunglasses as a corpo security guard etc. There should always be asian influences in the cities, asian food restaurants, fashion stores, neon lighting
>>14241429Yup, we're all 30 year old boomers now.
>>14242788bbbbut muh wakandaasian population growth was big in the 80s but now it's like latin america and africa - if cyberpunk were to revive again, would those races replace asians in neocyberpunk?

>>14243405They're fucking comfy but the black front part faded incredibly fast
>>14243405low-top sneakers aren't cyberpunk
>>14242812China still has some population issues and financial disparity appropriate for cyberpunk while having the tech around, too.India in there. Brazil olympics a few years ago produced some cyberpunk af imagery. You say “if” but cyberpunk is already back in. BR2049, GitS, Alita, Akira film coming. The CDPR game. Outrun.
What do you guys think about wearing a surplus tactical vest over a leather jacket? Is that pushing it way to far into the cosplay zone? It can carry so much tech...
>>14245982really depends on the fit of everything. honestly you just gotta experiment if you think it looks cool just go for it
>>14245982could workjust don't ruin it with sneakers
>>14246074It looks way too cool, I think it might scare people though.>>14246078I was thinking french army boots.I will see about getting some pictures later this week if time permits and this this thread is still around.
>>14231115dont listen to this reddit poster lol
>>14227768*tips visor at u*
I personally mostly get inspiration from movies and runways. I'd recommend some old McQueen and Galliano for styling inspo.>>14242243Very cool stuff, you're one of my fav posters in waywt's. >>14227020Would cyberchad wear one of those dadpouches? The waist pouches that were fucking lit in the mid-late 90's
>>14246555Nice trips, and if you mean fannypacks, yes, absolutely. Buuuuut, it has to be worn at the waist, not chest hypebeast mode
>>14246566Only faggots would wear them on the chest
>>14246555He could pull it off if he wanted to, but instead he just strapped a couple of scavanged magazine pouches on his belt.

The orange thing is a battery pack, and the vest is a surplus ALICE LBV which can be found on eBay for around 10 to 20 usd.I get what you're saying about the duster.
