Haven't seen a thread like this. I'd really like to get some retro/vintage thread. 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's please.

Post inspo, cops and discuss the styles.

I really like the basics, white sneakers + blue jeans combo but I have no idea what to wear on top (I'm not a huge fan of t-shirts). What shirts/sweaters? Shirts under sweaters do work?
>>

is that a picture for ants?

anyway allthough it is of course doable i think the main part that makes the vintage outfits stand out is that they dont wear sneakers that often. that is usually what makes the outfits good imo.
ive been saturated on sneakers, i see them too often i dont really like them anymore, especially because it is usually one of the 10 or so basic white sneakers. i also feel like wearing sneakers with lightwash jeans makes you at risk for looking like a softboy instead of vintage outfits. i've been taking advice from Alain Delon recently, you can wear basic as fuck clothes but as long as you have nice leather shoes it will look good, shoes really set the tone of an outfit.
anyway one thing you should always do is tuck in your shirt with very few exceptions.
ill be posting a few pics from different genres and different styles (and socio-economic classes which is what was very relevant back then when it came to the way you dressed).

It is indeed a picture for ants, I grabbed the first thing that came up on google, kek.

I like white sneakers and go well with classic blue jeans and a plaid shirt. I like that fit tho, the style is nice but it won't look good on me since I'm tall and skinny + buzzcut. I like this >>14180966 too, this one might look good on me. What shoes would you recommend? I'm tired of all the oxfords and derbies.

I love this look so much, but after walking on boots for a couple of days I long for the ease and comfort of simple sneakers.

For clothing, the simplest would be regular tucked shirts. Or simple t-shirts with a light coat.

For inspiration I sometimes watch these youtube videos where people filmed their last day in school in the 80-90's era. Just an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKmXE-leRvo

so am i really, recently im becoming fond of the boat shoe (and when its colder camp mocs with thicc grey boots socks) with jeans look. when im not wearing jeans (which is really often actually) i usually wear penny loafers. but white sneakers can definetly work as long as the jeans arent dark wash
this pic isnt really that good but its the best i could find that demonstrates what i mean

Anyone else unironically raid their dad'a closet? Got a shitton of belts, flannels in very nice patterns that I cant find anywhere new (nowadays i just see the red and black soi patterns), and especially jackets from him
These 2 for example, suede jacket (that i really need to get upholstered) like Jerry had and on the left some kind of incredibly warm jacket that I dont even know what its supposed to be but it looks cool, from Gant
>>
>>14181004
That actually looks great. Now I want to get myself a light blue shirt and a pair of brown loafers. They're some kind of loafers, Idk how to search it kek
>>
>>14181022
Unfortunatley my arms are like 2 inches longer than his so I can only take his flannels (because they are alpha sized) and not his normal shirts
Im also not his sportscoat size which is very unfortunate since he has some incredibly nice sportscoats from brands like Corneliani and Brioni, also some crazy tartan sportscoats.

Usually plain or flannel. Kids wore a lot of pattern stuff though. Or with logos, later. STripes too, and everything was oversized, compared to nowadays.

A few years back some old guy in my neighborhood died and his family sold some of his clothing in a garage sale. Got a suede rancher jacket that I now pick over every other garment when its cold out. What I'm saying is, this spring you should go to neighborhoods with lots of old people and buy up their good stuff.

Interesting inquiry. You could probably find what you're looking for indirectly by searching for incidental images of doctor's offices. Or you could go find some forum of old fogies and ask them what they used to wear.

Left to Right
>Dickhead who betrays the group
>Silent badass. Him and boy on the right fought once and the boy on the right won. Swore his allegiance to him and when he does speak, everyone is scared shitless.
>Original MC who teaches glasseskid about how to manuever in the streets. People think he's an asshole but actually has morals and fights for a reason.
>Real MC, who uses what he learned to stop Dickhead friend.

Doesn't look that vintage, tbqh. Maybe it's because of the slim fit jeans, idk.
>>
>>14185156
yeah, slim fit def existed back then, but it gives this one a very '10s silhouette
>>
>love the tshirt tucked into pants look
>be skinny
>have HUGE bubble butt
>tucking accentuates the ass silhouette making you look even more gay
ah yes, did you all know that this IS hell were living in
>>
>>14185235
build muscle then idiot
tshirts only look good if you are muscular anyway
>>
>>14185235
layers are your friend
>>
>>14185235
Hah, I'm skinny and have no ass.
>tfw I look like a carrot stick

>>14185263
Just no. Go back to /fit/ if all the advice you can give is "b-build muscle, senpai, let me suck your juicy /fa/ cock, senpai"
>>
>>14185345
cope harder because you know im right
>>
>>14185351
/fa/ + /fit/ = sex core most of the times. Looks like that is your case too.
>>
>>14185358
no? you still need to be fit to pull of tucked t shirts, like here>>14183574
>>
>>14185374
Not really, if you're skinny and wear a t shirt that fits well on you, it doesn't matter tbqh. It looks good no matter how skinny you are.
>>
>>14185288
yeah, theyre such a good friend during summer

>>
>>14185436

All the time since I grew tall enough to fit in the clothes he wore when he was in his 20s (1990s). Now he's too fat.
Got some really cool shit. Bunch of sweater and rugby shirts, some nice snow boots and a bomber jacket

why the fuck did sneakers only come in white or converse back then?
>>
>>14189546
Because they kept it simple and they were mostly work wear. The based loafer was at it's peak, as it should be now.

Do you guys know where I could get a descent Béret? I’m going bald, I don’t like caps and I want to cover my shame and also avoid skin cancer.
>>
>>14190107
amazon, ebay. they're everywhere
>>
>>14190250
Obviously but I don’t want to end up paying for something of low quality maybe someone here knows where I could buy a quality Béret
>>
>>14190286
the quality of them is fine, really. as long as they're wool. it's not like they're particularly difficult/expensive to make.

milsurp's another option
>>
>>14181212
These are the closest I could find, they’re from Colchester rubber co.

>>14191691
Oh shit you’re right and this is exactly the style I like. Found this after a little search and I like the look of it but I feel like it’s too expensive but we will see

Burberry are the most well known brand for those kinds of coats although I’m sure there are loads that are cheaper
