The Omegas are pretty neat, but nothing crazy.
I'd look into getting them restored (but not redialed), just cleaned and maybe replacing necessary parts, but that's just mainly because I enjoy vintage pieces more than new ones.
Got a better pic of the strapless watch?

about 5 threads new here.

so a $300 shitter does the same thing as a $15k Rolex. and a $250 skx007 does the same thing as a $10k grand Seiko

besides simply buying something because you like how it looks, at what price point are people just getting memed over quality?

and don't do that car comparison crap. you can really tell and actually feel the difference with different quality and tiers of cars. a watch freaking sits on your wrist (or from what I can see in this thread just in boxes). it's not like it's something you are actively experiencing

Nah, but close
>>
>>13903192
It looks pretty much just like a sub, but it's not, it's got a "different" kind of thing going for it. I usually hate oversized watches, but the 16600 is huge for a reason; it's ridiculously overbuilt.
>>
>>13903544
Date is completely unnecessary
>>
>>13903561
Help me understand because I like the aesthetics in say the no date submariner or oyster perpetual, but it just seems so plain, to have a watch that JUST tells time (diver bezel can do elapsed time but besides that, I'm talking the movement). I feel like having one complication helps, with date being the most obvious first complication.
>>
>>13903583
There is beauty in simplicity

I find the date complication to be superfluous and frankly annoying. The explorer 1 looks understated and would be ruined with a date

Customer brought in an SKX today. The links that connect the endlinks to the rest of the bracelet got stretched out somehow, gotta bend those back.

So anyway it's kind of a larger watch that I though from photos, it's actually a nice man-size diver. Here it is next to a 36mm Pre-Bond, and a first-gen Amphibia wreck for scale. Didn't have any more recent divers on me for comparison.

Nothing really rare, more like obscure, forgotten vintage shitters, probably with lower production runs.

Right now working on this Swiss-made Royce Mexico, pretty obscure, there's almost no data on it on the web. It looks like an experiment of using as much plastic as possible in the watch. Nylon case, thick plastic crystal (doesn't feel like normal acrylic), and even the dial is injection-molded plastic, which is completely unusual. Only metal parts are hands, the Swiss handwinding AS movement, the crown and the stem.
>>
>>13904705
They've already done it, you can edit what gets printed onto the form. They put the full amount paid on still though so I'm not sure if it will work.

Good morning wt

The Bulova accuquartz was a too little, too late effort from Bulova to adapt to the quartz crisis. It's essentially a Bulova 218 tuning fork watch retrofitted with a quartz timing package - instead of running at the fork's natural frequency, the driving coils force it to run at 341hz, regulated by a 32khz quartz crystal. The geartrain is mostly parts-comoatible with the 218; only one wheel is changed to account for the different fork frequency. In particular, the 320-tooth index wheel is parts compatible. Like many watches of the period (Seiko, longines, jlc, GP, others), it includes a geometric representation of a quartz crystal on the dial.

Does anyone here have some redpills to drop on pendulum clock making?
I am mainly seeking info on what properties determine the pendulums frequency, I know that the distance of the center of mass from the attachment point is the most crucial, but are there any formulas to use when you want to create a pendulum on a certain frequency?

New SNK809, the black one to use as a quickwear. Can't for the life of me decide on a leather 2 piece strap color or NATO strap to replace the crapper currently on it. Trying to match to the black, silver, white and red second tip. Any standouts or suggestions?
>>
>>13904989
Perhaps the brand's name is not great. But when you buy (or not) a watch because the name, maybe it's because you are dumb af, no offense.
Sapphire glass, stainless steel case, automatic movement with transparent caseback and one of the most iconic designs for 50€. I would say it's a great deal, but I am not a expecting to convince people who don't even care about doing some research about what they criticize.
>>
>>13905135
If it isnt seiko they won't care, only seikos with really bad movements, misaligned bezels, and hardlex have longevity and are worth buying sub 500

Eh...three of the same thing? It's not my cup-o-tea, to be honest. I hate having duplicates unless I expect something to wear out or have to be replaced. Granted, if you love the design, then why not.

I find these days I simply don't have time for more than 2 watches max in the rotation. The other ones just don't get worn, and sadly I don't miss them. Even my secondary only gets worn because it's a chronograph...but for no other reason. I like it, don't get me wrong...but my primary is the one I trust in all circumstances. So, three of the same watch would be overkill for me.
>>

China or Casio.

Wanna digital watch? Casio is perfect (saving up for a g-shock is a good idea).

Want something else? Go to aliexpress and gearbest and look for something like parnis, starking, guanquin, carnival etc. Also post your watch if you will go with this option. You will see the /wt/ burn and this shit tends to be funny.
