Really liked Scalera on this. Looking forward to whatever he does when Black Science wraps up.
I thoroughly enjoyed Remender's Run on Secret Avengers. He writes some of my favorite characters in a ways that is more than solid and have some nice character moments sprinkled thoughout. That said, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO HANK PYM AFTER >>104559922 !?!?!?!?! Did he die? Not die? Revert back to human? Died yet retconned/forgotten? I would have thought Remender would have been more direct with Pym considering he enjoys the character and wrote Rage of Ultron.
And now we revert back to the prior Venom series. Having Remender write both definitely eases the transition between the two.
>>104559900>>104559912I'd like to read the story of Eric's return to evil, is it in the previous Venom storytime?
>>104560629The only one that jumps out at me is the more recent Illuminati series, but I might be misremembering (like severely).
>>104560899>Eddie becoming a murderer againI can't tell you how much I hated that aspect of this story
In reference to my huge complain, CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED TO PYM AT THE END OF SECRET AVENGERS?!?!? I'm not trying to be a douche, but I need to know to understand one of my top ten Marvel characters (maybe top five but I got to work on the list..
>>104560079>>104560087I like to think that this Deathlok Pym was a proto Pymtron, that's why they never explained how he was reverted back to human, he was going to stay as Deathlok, imo... anyway, later Pym fucked the Father and all his descendant lol
>>104561060I'll look it up.
>>104561246So was he base Pym or a new Pym entirely? Or...He turned into Deathlocked Pym and was then reverted back to human (he healed inbetween panels). And because of his prior infection he became a fantastic host for Ultron? I understand that, but I still wanted those miss panels. It wouldn't even have taken a page. Five panels max (I'd argue 4 to do a great job. Anything more might be superfluous.).
>>104561306Supeer appreciate it. I know this is a petty gripe, but as someone writing their own series I would never allow anything like that. He was discarded like Bane in TDKR, literally flung into the background.
And thus we reach the end of Remender's Venom series. I hate that I called this so wrong. Literally in every way. They had fantastic artists and a weriter that truly understood the character and became one of my favorite members of the "Spider-Family:
I think I'm going to end it for tonight. I hope that everyone has a wonderful rest of their night! You guys make it all worth it.
>>104562408Good night, thanks prof. If there's a storyline tomorrow I'll tell you what I found about Pym. Internet acting kinda weird.
>>104560079We never really learned. What seems clear is that Secret Avengers was forced to wrap earlier than it would, or maybe the three issues in space fucked Remender's scheduling up. I also seem to remember that Pym was at one point one of his candidates to the Unity Squad before he had to rework his plans. My guess is that Remnder wanted the descendents' plot remains to carry over in UA and either editors convinced him to leave it dangling because Waid had other plans for Pym (which eventually were downgraded to Humphries' Avengers AI) or he himself realized that plot would be too large and off-point and wrapped it up here as he could, only to rework the original ideas into Rage of Ultron. The fact that Pym never appeared nor was mentioned once after this before the Avengers AI prologue makes me believe it's the former, also includind that at one point Marvel REALLY didn't know where to fit the Pym-featuring Age of Ultron event because Bendis and Hitch lost track themselves.
>>104562408Thank you man, that was amazing.
