I like my coffees here too long but it has to a good pick me and the coffee is a decent place to go to eat and eat it for all my summer and I don’t have a good place here but the service here has always made my point to be honest

This reminds me so much of the decaf espresso from Costa coffee. The stuff came in the exact same style of packaging and is in what is essentially a bloody tea bag.

Can't be worse than this shit. Smells like generic "dark" and just tastes really bitter. Not picking up anything. You know how you can get those "Fruit flavour" sweets and candies? This is the "Fruit" flavour of shit coffee.
I'm going to the pool to forget about this.
>>
Is there any way to make my brewed coffee "thicker"? I want to see if I can get the consistency of maple syrup without diluting the flavor. Would gelatin work?
>>

don't do this unless youre baking something

Try a moka pot. It brews richer coffee since there is now coffee particles in it.

Yeah, to be honest, i don't have the income to buy better quality coffee like Folgers but this coffee is also great quality and also tastes great.

I was in transit for practically the whole month of May. Had a lot of hotel coffee. Always ran a pot of hot water to dump out before the coffee in case the machine wasn't clean.

Gotta say, still better than the average k-cup. No idea why, it's essentially the same thing.

This is the only coffee that I can find that's relatively strong enough just straight black. It's the only coffee I can enjoy anymore.

Anyone have recommendations for a super strong coffee so I have more options?

Sick of trying something that says "DARK BOLD" on it but it turning out to be fucking water.
>>
>>12471712

Strength comes from the brew ratio. When a company says strong they mean how overroasted their coffee is.
>>
>>12470770
is that a bowl of mashed pineapple?

With k**rig you should only be using the smallest cup size option. The amount of coffee never changes, all the larger sizes do is dilute more. Or just stop being a k-cuck and get a drip machine

Ohhhhh, foodie has new filters. Also realized I didn't do the questions.
>what you drinking
A coffee from aldis called "best friend" which is a blend of 2 light roast and 1 dark roast.
>where from
I think the two light roasts was an acidic columbian and a floral Ethiopian.
>getting anymore
No cause while sounding novel the dark roast they used is shit tier; tastes of burnt and ash. Went through the trouble of separating the beans to grind separately and tasted much better. I got another whole bean bag from Aldi's I'll be trying soon.

Getting married next year, and the old lady is putting together a wedding registry. As she was bugging me for ideas, I figured I might get into Chemex, since it only needs a good temp.-controlled kettle, a food scale, and a good grinder. Per Serious Eats, I was going to get the Baratza Virtuoso+ — which looks to be consistent and durable, with a lowest setting that's very fine. The missus said that it would be too expensive, since some of the guests are not very wealthy (though her aunts and uncles are loaded).

With this in mind, I was wondering if y'all had a manual burr grinder you'd recommend. All I am really looking for is consistency in the finer grinds. Ideally, the finest grind would be fine enough to also make Turkish coffee, but pourovers are the main focus. Portability (within reason) and effort exerted are not concerns at all, as it's going to live in the kitchen and I welcome a good sweat.

>are you really about to commit to learning how to do a proper pourover and then do that every single morning? Is your wife willing to do that?
We have prescriptions for legal speed, so we don't drink coffee daily. I like kitchen rituals and would happily do the work for coffee. But is a "proper pourover" really so difficult? I thought it was just:
>weigh beans
>grind beans
>heat water to a specific temp
>wet filter
>put beans in filter
>pour water over beans
How much more complex could it be? It's not like we're looking to win the WBC.
>>
>>12500783
I mean I'm not trying to make it seem like it's hard, but it's definitely more involved than just pouring all your water over the grounds. There's like, circles and stages and timing and stuff.

I think Chris baca has a tutorial. Again it's not difficult but you're gonna be standing over your chemex at least 5 mins every time you brew. You always start with a bloom, then typically pour in 50g increments, or divide your water into 3-4 pour stages at set time intervals. I mean you don't have to do all this but with pourover the advantage comes from learning technique to draw out flavors from the coffee, you start to learn what you like from certain coffees and how to accentuate that the best or else you might as well just buy a drip machine.

If your dead set on an espresso machine Tasteless Anon could tell you or that one anon with a coffee work bench. Though I think the general consensus is home espresso are a meme and never as good as the real thing, and commercial espresso machines are stupid expensive.

It's a meme unless you have $5000 to blow... those single boiler machines are just not worth the hassle and you are not going to find anything in the $500 price point except garbage pressurized basket pseudo machines or gimmicky lever toys

"Café culture" is not "coffee culture".
People enjoy sitting at a café terrasse, have a coffee and a cigarette and watch passers-by. It doesn't mean that the coffee will not be crap.

dont have a grinder, dont care to buy one. im gonna stick with my freeze dried coffee for day to day shit and my low effort ground coffee when i fancy something a little nicer. if you wanna make me a cup of your freshly ground fancy stuff tho by all means.
>>

Im not even shitting on the coffee necessarily just your attitude "not opening a bag of Taylor's just for myself". Also fuck nestle and fuck you for buying nestle products

>Im not even shitting on the coffee necessarily just your attitude "not opening a bag of Taylor's just for myself"
the problem is that stuff doesnt last long at all (maybe 10 cups in a packet) if i buy the regular grind and ive given up on espresso pots because every time i buy one the fucking handle snaps. if i had one of those that lasted id probably save the freeze dried shit for when im in a rush. as is though, i dont fancy spending £10-15 a month just so i can have a marginally nicer cup of coffee than the stuff i usually buy.
