Can we get a champagne thread going?
>>11577967Actually never mind this thread fucking sucks.brb going to shoot myself straight into the anus and blow my head out from the other side with a shotgun
I like rose champagne. Champagne is very hit or miss to me, it seems to be something that is very cost driven unlike wine where I can find a cheap bottle that tastes good to me. Bad champagne is really gross.
>>11577967More like sparkling wine thread amirite
>>11578018We here at home never drink still wine. That shit's only for cooking. We do drink a lot of champagne and sparkling wines. Nothing too expensive because it seems to go so fast. Cook's brut is actually not bad for the price and makes a good mimosa. Our favorite cheap option right now is Cupcake prosecco. A real bargain when it's on sale.
>>11578059What exactly is prosecco? How does it compare to champagne?
>>11578075It's Italian sparkling wine. I like it just as much as champagne, and it tastes better than most cheaper options.https://winefolly.com/review/champagne-vs-prosecco/
>>11577967I stick with Moët & Chandon.
I did some contract work for a fancy champagne producer in France, most of their stuff was 150+ a bottle. I was so bummed when I saw how not special it was. Wine and champagne is such a scam, they are filling those things up with a bloody fire hose and laughing to the bank.
>>11578018Champagne is a meme. It's not meaningfully different from sparkling wine made in any other region of France, it just costs four times as much because of the international marketing buzz.Try looking for a dry sparkling wine from Limoux or the Loire region. You can get decent bottles for like $10 to $15, so there's not nearly as much of a risk in terms of cost if you end up not liking it.
For me it's Jacques Selosse
