What options do I have for lace topped OTKs, when I have toned calves and bigger than average feet?

Does any brand sell candy cane style spiral stripe tall socks or tights? I've only seen a couple of otome brands sell them ages ago.

Is it true that gaijin made lolita appear like cosplay or is there in japan also a shitty subculture and ita menace?
>>
>>10305368
afaik the association comes with how gaijin wear it to anime cons. cons there are different than here and have different connotations. japanese people probably don't get that most western countries aren't full of cities with alt fashion safe havens like they do. a lot of girls tend to think highly of westerners who are lifestyle lolita because even many of them don't wear lolita around to grocery shopping.
>>
>>10305283
- Make your own lace toppers
- Buy brand, deal with the stretching and use sock glue to try and keep them OTK (probably only worth it if you are borderline able to fit, rather than say, size 10 feet and >40cm calves)
- Buy offbrand on ebay/ali/taobao and deal with the fact that the lace is less likely to be nice
>>
>>10305377
I think most japanese who wear lolita brands or aesthetic daily are just incredibly casual as well about it right, or is it just me? And that they just tag the brand instead of lolita like it's some religion.
>>
Are a KC and a head bow the same thing? What does 'KC' means?

Does anyone know the english name of the AP headdress in this listing?
>>
>>10305368
Plenty of Japanese normies think it’s cosplay or that lolita girls are crazy, just look at Japanese documentaries on the fashion. And of course there are Japanese itas and even entire ita brands like Marble. It’s just that photos of badly dressed people are much less likely to be shared around the web than the nice photos.
>>
>>10305520
To clarify, KC is for headband bows only, not say bow clips or barrettes.
>>
It says the reservation period is over, but it says the items will be in stock around this time anyway, and it shows the item ID, so can I still order them or not? I'd ask the store, but I don't want to miss the free shipping offer that is ending today.
>>
>>10305535
>entire ita brands like Marble.
I mean you're right but why you gotta be like that
>>
>>10305446
Yeah, but do any of them have decent lace topped socks or do they even have nice lace of the correct width for sock toppers? I thought about making some for myself but in the end you often pay as much for the lace + shipping as you would for brand socks + shipping. Most of the decent stuff isn't that wide or it's net/tulle lace rather than the heavier cottons.
>>
Where can I find below the knee, white, really ruffly top, old school style socks in stock?
>>
>>10305368
No it's kinda always been seen as costumey, even in Japan.
Watch any Japanese media with a lolita in it. It nearly always marks that particular character as "weird" or "difficult."
>>
>>10305798

Idk if I'd say it is costumey but the Japanese pretty much find extreme ends of jfashion to all be pretty weird and sort of just ignore things outside of the norm rather than become dickish and harass people the way westerners do.

Anything not normal or standard will stand out and people will either find you beautiful or strange for it in Japan depending on who it is.

I'm going to be in Tokyo on holiday and want to buy a gift for my overseas friends from BTSSB/Meta/AP.

It seems quite intimidating given that I'm a guy with no knowledge in this area.

Any tips?

Do you know what colors your friend likes the most or what style?
If you don't, you can never go wrong with black or white hair accesoires, I think.
>>
>>10306534
I'm thinking a black headbow would be good for a Gothic style Lolita. I hope I can just grab one off a shelf. Or do I need to worry about sizing or interacting with staff?

>>10306154
My city isnt exactly the safest and I am very small. Once it hits 5pm it gets dark as fuck outside because it's winter. I know I'm a great kidnapping target and I want to prevent that.
>>
>>10306538
For headbows? Nah, they’re one size.
>>
>>10306566
just uber or some shit. i doubt anyone wants to kidnap you more because of your weird outfit, in fact they probably would be less likely because of how visible you'd be.
>>
>>10306538
Does your friend normally wear head bows? Baby, AP and Meta skew sweet and if she’s a gothic lolita their items might be too cutesy.

You don’t have to worry about sizing for accessories and I agree that white or black is generally a nice, safe choice. Some stores might be wary of male gaijin tourists though, so it could be helpful to memorise a phrase explaining that you’re looking for a gift for your friend. Maybe you could show them a picture of her in lolita or something.
>>
How do I order from Lolitas & Colitas? I keep seeing their stuff but when I click their link buttons on their social media pages it takes me to their Chinese social media. The only website I see from them is more of a blog.
>>
>>10306538
Yes, that sounds like a good idea + what the other anons said. If she's a gothic lolita, it might be also worth to take a look into one of the Closet Child shops (a j-fashion second hand shop) and look for Moi Meme Moitie brand Accessories like Jewelry, wristcuffs, bags or again head accessories.
I don't think you'd be too suspicious if you just buy one small item, I doubt you are the first man to buy something for female friends.
>>
Is the Chocochip Cookie site still working? Like, is it ok to order?

It looks like it might have not been updated in quite a while but I'm not sure.

They only sell through Weibo. You need to use a SS.

It took me a sec to find their site but according to the tumblr post that linked it you need a SS (or did at the time they made the post)

Are all axes femme dresses free sized? I love this dress but it says the waist is approximately 76-80cm....

there does seem to be shirring and a tie in the back
>>
>>10307223
No, the measurements may seem large but most of axes femme's garments are meant to fit a 79 to 87cm bust, 64 to 70 waist. Their clothing is Japanese M size and should fit Japanese women's sizes 7 to 11, though they sometimes also sell L sized coats (size 13?).
>>
>>10307056
I never used Tenshi but I was honestly surprised by how fast Muuh is. Even though she said she'd ship my dress on Monday (bought on Saturday), she actually sent me the tracking number on the next freaking day. My dress arrived exactly one week after its release. I don't think I've ever had an SS who shipped something so fast. Used airmail too 10/10 would commission her for store releases again.

>>
>>10307153
Tenshi is super fast with communications, and very reliable. I’ve emailed her and sometimes gotten a reply within a matter of minutes sometimes, if she’s up. She sends stuff out very quickly, within the next day or two of receiving an item, or you pay the invoice if she invoices you after receiving an item. I find that items can arrive from her in three days from sending, and that’s with her not based in Tokyo.

that's garment measurement ad you can see that it has shirring, so with something like this it will be designed to fit someone 5-10cm smaller and not look tight. You could squeeze 80cm waist in there but I doubt it would look good.

I'd love to get my nails done, but everytime I do them myself, they come off, chip and peel in the shower.
How do I make sure my nails stay preserved?
>>
>>10307391

Regular nail polish or gel? Because the pic you posted seems to be gel and they don't really chip.

Nail polish:

1. Thicker top coat, and use a decent brand top coat. The thicker you make the polish the less likely it is to chip.

1.a - Along these lines, if you add large glitter and stickers and then cover it with layers of topcoat it's also less likely to chip, but it'll be a complete pain in the arse to take it off later. Look up soaking your nails in foil + nail polish remover, and have some nail oil handy when it's time to remove it.

1.a.a - If you use a peel-off basecoat then removing really thick nail polish layers will be much easier (however, avoid thin layers with a peel-off basecoat, it makes them chip more easily). Innisfree makes one, but I've had to buy it in-store, not online.

1.b - If you're feeling particularly industrious you can add a layer of top coat every morning

2. Make sure it's dry before you do anything with it. (usually 3+ hours if you did the usual base coat + 2 layers colour + top coat)

3. Avoid cheap polishes. Not to say expensive branded polishes don't chip (they do), but the cheaper ones tends to fall apart even if you have a decent topcoat on. Sephora house brand is my baseline for "not expensive but decent".

3.a. On that note, OPI's liquid sand is weirdly long-lasting (dat texture though).

UV gel nails:

- For the real thing the manicurist has to cure the nail polish under a UV lamp. It's actually a layer of colored uv glue, cured directly onto your nails like glue, so it really shouldn't chip at all.

- Most of the downsides is that you need to go to a salon to get it done, and nail art like your pic usually isn't cheap. Your nails grow out within the week, so basically it'll last maybe 1-2 weeks because biology.

- If it says "gel polish" but it doesn't cure under a UV lamp, then it's just regular nail polish, the finish is supposed to mimic UV gel polish.

What color blouse and socks should I coord this skirt with?
>>
>>10305795
Meta and maxicimam
>>
>>10307538
Offwhite will look good
>>
>>10307391
>>10307398
You can do gel polish at home yourself, just invest in a cheap UV nail lamp and watch some videos on it, start with solid colors. You can buy gel polish from Sally Beauty or any other beauty supply store.
>>
>>10307543
I feel like that would be overly stark since it's just a skirt and not a jsk.

A blouse in a similar shade of navy as the peplum would look nice.
>>
I recently got a Cornet OP and while it's a gorgeous dress, it's very short compared to my other dresses and more high waisted than is flattering on me. I've got bloomers I can wear underneath but I'd still like to know any tips on both pulling off a shorter dress and making a high waist more flattering.
>>
>>10307798
Same issue for me and my first cornet dress. I'm tall and not obese, but losing weight helped me make it work. I wanted to lose ~10 though so it worked in multiple ways
>>
>>10307538
Offwhite is a safe choice for blouse and socks, and I'd put it with navy shoes and head accessory, and gold jewelry.
>>
>>10307538

Good choices are navy, white, offwhite, ivory, grey, black. Just don't do all the colours together, pick like three colours to make your coord out of, and be careful with the tones of certain colours (eg - don't mix your whites, careful with grey undertones. Navy should be a pretty standard colour with lolita brands by now but if you go offbrand be careful of the undertone too.)

(in the case of ivory blouse you can also match it with brown shoes/bag. Just don't do a brown blouse with it, probably looks a bit jarring.)
>>
>>10307391
Water, especially hot water, will make your nail polish chip so much more easily. Your nails absorb water in the shower, causing the C curve to flatten out, and as they dry, it tightens up again. This stress causes cracks in the polish, which then get chipped off.

Take less hot and shorter showers, and minimize the time that your hands are in contact with the water.

Along with that, here are some steps to extend the life of your manicure:

- before you paint your nails, dip a q-tip in acetone and go across your nails, drying them out. This will help your basecoat stick better.
- choose a basecoat that suits your needs, and make sure it's from a decent company. For long-lasting manicures, I used CND Stickey.
- apply basecoat and wait ~5-10 minutes for it to dry
- apply your polish, use decent brands (most drugstore brands aren't good). For fair priced polish that last long, I recommend Color Club.
- when you apply your polish, multiple thin coats is better than one thick coat. Go slow, be neat, and don't go all the way to the sides of your nail and end up flooding your cuticles. Wrap the free edge of your nail with your polish.
- let dry for a few minutes. It doesn't need to be completely dry.
- add a topcoat. If you like the look of gel nails, get a thick topcoat. If you used glitter, you'll probably want multiple layers of topcoat because it will absorb into the glitter and cause it to have an uneven finish. I use Seche Vite. It dries to the touch in about 10-15 minutes, and dries completely to avoid denting in about 30-40. Wrap your tips with topcoat, too.
- finally, when you have your nails done, be aware of them! Take a little more time doing things that involve your hands. Don't rip open packaging, put together furniture, or scrub the tub without gloves on and then wonder why your nails are chipping. If you want them to last, take care of them.
>>
>>10307798
Skirt length: Don't go for big poof as it will shorten the skirt further. Lower poof/old school poof is good. Wear OTKs or tights, a large expanse of skin makes the skirt look obviously short. Long bloomers for deliberate peeking bloomers may work well to reduce said skin gap.
High waist: wearing a closed cardigan or jacket with a lower waist is probably the most failsafe way to improve the look. Avoid cropped jackets, capelets and shrugs Belts or sashes can sometimes work but can also cross into looking awkward, particularly if the texture or style doesn't match the dress.

>>10307391
Do home gel nails.

You're gonna want to call the shop and talk to them (yes, in Japanese. Get someone to help you if you can't) and ask them if they can hold it until you get back/to arrange a pickup.

It's not a One Day pickup thing, you have to make an appointment when you want to pick up the dress, sometimes they don't have it in the shop even though it's "ready" if you haven't made an appointment to pick it up. And of course, if it's not ready, then it's just not ready.

Which online Japanese secondhand sites have you tried, and are there are preferred ones? I've bought on Lacemarket so far, but I want to try buying from the JP sites too.

So far the sites I know are
- Wunderwelt
- ClosetChild
- Maiden Clothing
- Fairy Angel

The things I'm interested in is ease of communication (decent enough English?), overall quality (do the pictures accurately represent what you get?), shipping and handling (is it like a warehouse so they'll hold things for a time period or you have to haul all at once?). If I think of any more questions I'll reply to post, but thank you for helping!
>>
>>10308286

You can use a SS and buy from Yahoo Japan auctions or mercari
>>
Could someone recommend me brands like Listen Flavor? I'm new to J-Fashion and I'm looking for clothes in the direction of menhera/yami kawaii/emo style, but I don't know where to start.
>>
>>10308286
Have bought from all of these as well as Y!JA, Mercari, Fril, etc, although I don't buy much from auction sites anymore, too many undisclosed stains but maybe I just had bad luck. There's also Tokyo Alice on Rakuten, which is another secondhand shop, I've only bought from them once or twice and everything went fine.

Closetchild is my favorite place to buy from, they always get things shipped out right away and prices are always very reasonable. I've never had a problem with an order from Closetchild. Wunderwelt is also good but I find them a bit overpriced on their used stuff. I haven't had to deal with Closetchild customer support, but I do know Wunderwelt has decent English-speaking staff and they worked with me when I had a package get lost in customs. They ship internationally and are like any other online store, you make an order and they ship it directly to you.

For basically anything else you'll need a shopping service. I mostly use Zenmarket, but they can be a bit slow. There's a Japanese shopping service thread right now I think, if you want recommendations. Shopping services purchase the items for you and hold them at their warehouse, where you can then combine shipping and have everything shipped to you at once.

Not secondhand, but if you're into gothic it's also worth mentioning that Atelier Pierrot ships internationally, and they carry most of the gothic brands that are still in business, plus free shipping over 20000 yen.
>>
How do you learn how to pair items together? I'm often confused by the ita threads because there's never a reason accompanying it
>>
>>10308338
Its all about color balance. Any color you wear should be repeated at least once or twice elsewhere in your coord
>>
I have a really old IW jsk and with petti it looks stuffed, even not fluffy ones. Can i wear it petti-less? It looks good actually but im not sure about it being appropriate.
>>
>>10308394
Not trying to sound facetious, but have you tried a less poofy petti too? It would help if you had pics.
>>
>>10308394
As stupid as it sounds, I keep a deflated kids' petticoat from ebay (anyone remember victoriangirldress?) specifically for very old pieces that can't hold much poof but look better with the skirt filled out a little. You could try along the same vein with a cheap petticoat from aliexpress (this one looks almost exactly like the victoriangirldress ones from years ago
https://a.aliexpress.com/2K7H7mPW), or maybe a bodyline petti? Since they're notoriously low-poof as well
>>
>>10308387
No, it's literally not ALL about color balance. Throwing in some shitty ribbons or weird offbrand stuff because the color matches is a good way to be ita. The style, fit, color, and color balance all matter

And fabric balance, thick+thick, thin + thin but i believe its part of "season balance"

Sometimes contrast in fabric weight can be cool though. (Not to an extreme but balancing a heavier looking dress with a chiffon or lace blouse and lacy or lightee weight socks can look okay)
>>
>>10308474

Thanks! I'm smaller than 8 in US sizes and I found a pair secondhand that said they fit like a 24.5. If it runs small then I guess I could fit them well with socks.
>>
>>10308473

I honestly have no idea. I pulled strings and got someone to pick it up for me when I couldn't (I think they need the confirmation paper you get when you made the reservation, iirc), I mean it's a $300 dress I really wanted, y'know? I didn't want to test how long they would hold it for.
>>
>>10308394
Are you using the right shape of petticoat? A cupcake under an a-line will produce that stuffed look. Some IW stuff can be tricky with looking like it wants a cupcake because of some waist gathering but actually looking better with an a-line.
>>
How do you guys store your heavier dresses? Especially JSKs with elastic straps? I like being able to sort and choose my main pieces hanging on a rack and currently I have my heavier dresses kind of draped across the bar of the clothing hanger so there’s no pull on the straps or bodice. I have a few pieces like this, and I usually wear them with just a simple underskirt rather than a petti. They don't look right without some sort of foundation garment underneath. An underskirt or flat petti will help it from caving in or looking warbley.

The amount of poof you need for pettis varies a lot based on both the skirt shape/volume but also your body shape. Girls with very wide hips and small waists need less poof than girls who are rectangular, to achieve the same silhouette. I can't wear cupcake pettis personally, or else I look like pic related.

If you're in doubt about needing more or less poof, have someone take a picture from a bit of a distance, and then you can see more clearly if things look "correct".
>>
>>10308590
I hang all my dresses. I fold them over the hanger bar at the waist so there's no stress on the shoulders, and then I use the top part of the hanger triangle thingy to hold any detachable parts.

That way the dress doesn't get damaged or stretch so much, and also I can fit two rows of hanging dresses in my closet (but they take up more horizontal space).
>>
>>10308405
>victoriangirldress
honestly I only have 2 petticoats that I use 99% of the time and one of them is a deflated sad one from hot topic (good for otome or normie dresses that need a slip), and my victoriangirldress one for sweet. I'm just not into the poofmonster look - victoriangirldress is just the perfect amount of poof to me.

Well, ita threads won't teach you much about pairing items together bc most of the time things are posted bc of issues of fit, quality, shitty taste, etc. You'll see in CoF and ita threads that there's often coords that people consider "borderline".

But in general...

>start simple, don't try to be creative
>match your lace to your base pieces and keep it consistent throughout the coord
ex: white lace on JSK -> white blouse, white OTKs, white lace on headpiece, etc.
>stick with simple color palettes, use only two or three colors
ex: black JSK, white blouse, red tights, black boots.
ex: Navy JSK, ivory blouse and OTKs, navy tea parties.
>stick within a color family and balance tones throughout your coord
ex: navy blouse, sax skirt, offwhite tights, navy shoes, sax KC

I made a thing comparing two pics recently posted to CoF that maybe illustrates these concepts better.

I wish they were still around so I could grab a couple other colors. I wear mostly older dresses, and regular lolita petticoats are always either too long or too poofy. I bought one from the ali listing I linked that anon, hoping it's the same thing when it comes in.
>>
>>10308610
Your picture is such a good explanation but I would add that you can add in neutrals that aren't in a print, left would fine with brown shoes and a brown hat ribbon. Matching shoes to dress is only needed for that OTT sweet/ AP clone style. The right is such a clusterfuck that having matching pinks wouldn't help, the print colors contrast so hard it will always look a bit ita. Nice matching neutrals with a couple nice red accessories could make it look passable but the designer of that dress needs to fucking stop

Thanks! Using other neutrals (like your brown shoe example) usually looks great, yeah. I didn't include it, though, because it only suits certain styles and it's more tricky than just wearing matching shoes.

I think the To Alice dress would look great with an all white coord, maybe with some boots with pom poms/fur trim to match.

Does anyone else ever contact sellers who don't list any of their shipping costs in the listing (it will specifically say to send them a message for that or other info) and then never get a response when you ask? Like I hate sellers ghosting me on Lace Market when all I've done is ask how much shipping is or if I can combine it for multiple items. I know they've seen my message so it's odd they wouldn't be glad to have a person interested in the item and just wanting to know what to expect in shipping charge.

Idk how other people do it, but I find it easiest to do:

- Tights if using
- Blouse
- Bloomers
- Socks
- JSK
- Petticoat
- Shoes

But it might depend on the JSK and how you prefer getting into a dress. I prefer to step into the dress rather than pull it over my head, as I usually have my makeup and hair done first - and then it's a lot easier to get the petticoat looking nice if I put it on under the JSK.

So you know how there are layers to the bow? You pin the under layers, using the ones above them to hide the pins. So you can lift up the top bow part, push the pins in to clip it to the beret, and then let them down.

I hope this makes sense explained over text!

Lash care Q.

I've been using the Huda #8 as my go-to gyaru lash recently and I love them, but I feel like they fall apart super quickly (basically through cleaning one of the threads on the band gets untucked and then after 1-2 more wears/cleans the fibers come out in chunks). At $20 a pop they're too expensive for me to justify rebuying every other month, so-

1. Am I just fucking up cleaning them and I need to be more gentle? I get kind of enthusiastic with the glue since the brand I have now doesn't stick as well, but for cleaning I've just been soaking them in water and then picking the glue off. Usually some glue gets on the fibers and that's where the damage starts.

2. If I am cleaning them correctly and they just have a short shelf life for whatever reason, what's a cheaper lash that I can get that has the same look/shape? Or, are there some treatments/steps I can take so the band lasts longer?

>>
>>10311478
It sounds like you're only getting 3 wears out of them? I haven't worn any Huda lashes but I've worn a lot of other brands and never noticed a major difference in durability.

Well, first off you need better glue and you need to work on your application. There shouldn't be much of anything on the lashes to "pick off". You just need a tiny TINY line of glue to hold them on.

Once you have good glue, if they keep popping off it's because they aren't fitted properly. Either they're too long or they aren't bent into the right shape for your lid.

Second, change how you're doing your mascara. I know all the gurus will put mascara on both their falsies and their lashes to "blend" them but obv then you have to clean your falsies bc they'll get much dirtier. Instead, do your mascara as normal. Then put on your falsies. Then use a clean spoolie or lash/brow comb to help "blend" your lashes together.

For my lashes, I have a few pairs I alternate through. If they get super dirty somehow (hot sweaty day, or I got mascara in them or something), then I'll soak them in some makeup remover for a minute or two, then let them air dry on a paper towel. But most of the time I just set them back in the tray and don't worry about it. I usually get about 10-20 uses out of a pair.
>>
>>10311429
your makeup doesn't look like gyaru here, at all. more like circa 2017 liz lisa product photo styled. your hair also doesn't look hime gyaru at all. are you perhaps confusing hime gyaru for hime kaji? if not i can help you out better, i just want to confirm since the look is so far from what you suggested.

>>
>>10311737
prisila is the best for them. i recommend at least J-808 and VO-69, also bangs (if you don't plan on using your own) prisila is really good quality too and you generally don't need to replace them often. if you want more volume, you can get something like VM-02 to layer. if you want to do like the twin tails, get two J-805 or similar things in the morigami section! you can get really lovely rose hairpieces on aliexpress for cheap, btw.
>>
>>10311757
something like pic related is very cheap and looks great with big hair, good for you just starting out so if you decide you don't like it, it's not too expensive. jesus diamante and la pafait second hand is really expensive sometimes, i actually have some clothes you might be interested in btw! so lemme know if you want me to leave an email!

last post, i promise. just wanted to share this image, this uses 3 of the rope wig and a morigami volume wig with bangs to create the look.

if you don't want to buy from prisila i would still recommend using this method and buying separate bangs rather than using one full wig, it gives you more control.

I always wonder why everyone freaks out about getting the MTOs from their shopping service. Regular releases I understand since they can and do sell out before they reach the US, but AP USA gets all the same MTOs as Japan and with few exceptions they’re unlimited so there’s no worry about selling out, and no SS fees and lower shipping.
>>
>>10311812
uhh did you not fill out the form correctly? They had a section to fill out your phone number under email. I'm pretty sure you had to fill it out twice because they took the top half and you got the bottom as your receipt. I had the shop girl take a peek at mine but she only asked questions about whether or not i was paying half or all, credit card or cash and filled out the money part of the form for me. Best to shoot them a email with your order number. I had to email them due to a timing issue but they got back to me within a couple hrs. Best to send them a email now before the holiday break. They don't usually email you about pick up unless it's towards the end of the waiting period (2 weeks irc).

>>
>>10312082
it's holiday time, anon. if you're buying from mercari, they need to wait for the seller to respond and ship the item to them, and that could take longer than usual. I have an order underway with them as well, and a few of my things have been processed, but not all. So expect a little longer wait (and more time to save for shipping since you got money trouble)
>>
>>10312100

Why is not more common or encouraged to buy actual high-quality bags and footwear for Lolita?
I feel like oldfags or anyone properly acquainted with the style will talk about how important quality is, but everyone seems content with pleather handbags and shoes just because they're ~brand~. It seems like such a waste, and any time I've mentioned it at meets I've been told that burando stuff is made for "special wear" which sounds like a poor excuse when so many people wear the fashion daily.
>>
>>10312456
most normies buy cheap bags and shoes for daily wear so i don't understand -your- point.
>>
>>10312461
Maybe it's a class thing? Most people I know buy mid-range canvas or leather bags and shoes.
>>
>>10312456
There aren't a lot of high quality options for certain styles.
>>
>>10312456
I try to encourage others but until someone starts making leather Goodyear welted tea parties, most sweet lolitas are kind of out of luck. I have plenty of good gothic and classic options.
>>
>>10312456
Like >>10312482 said, it's the style. For gothic and classic it's not as hard since a lot of us can just find neutral things from normie brands that match our coords, but a lot of sweet lolitas like to have bags that are an exact colour, shape or are part of a series and brands like AP and baby only make those in pleather. At least Moitie tried with their bat bags but most brands just don't.

By 'special wear' they are probably talking about novelty bags that only go with specific coords. Even if they wear it daily, they might have different bags to wear with their less expensive casual coords, and they save their 'special' burando stuff for events when they want to wear themed outfits with novelty bags.

In the closet of people who bought them
>>
>>10312806
you could buy out-of-season unpopular stuff from their sale section
>>
Do people care about 1 negative review on LM? I bought something and didn’t notice the seller had messaged me and I never saw an email so I thought there was an issue on the sellers end. My mistake. They left me negative feedback (rude feedback I may add, but I don’t blame them) and it’s my first negative feedback. I’ve been feeling super insecure and like people won’t buy or sell to me because of it. I have about 20 other positive feedback. I don’t want to make a new account just to sell off stuff.

Lacemarket makes it very obvious, when someone received a negative rating. I would look first how old the rating is and read through the comment for the reason. The older and more insignificant the reason is, the more I feel like I can risk it. Negative rating from half a year ago for unanswered mail? Fine, can happen for reasons. Negatvie rating from two years ago, because dress smelled like dog pee? Hell noo.

how do people do such large taobao orders and not drown in hundreds of shipping fees? i ordered around 11 items (some lolita some just room decor) and got like $50 in shipping fees. is there any way to avoid this or do people just pay a lot for shipping?
>>
>>10312640
They don't sell on Taobao. Only Weibo. So a SS is absolutely necessary.
>>
>>10313056
I'd make a new account
>>
>>10313122

A few things.

There's usually a tier to the shipping, for eg the first 500g will usually cost the same, so it makes more sense to order like 450g worth of stuff rather than a handful of stickers -- you'd still end up paying the same price in shipping. Usually every additional weight is a bit cheaper, eg- it might be $22 for the the first 500g, but the next 500g is $21, the next is $20, then you hit 5kg and the next 500g after 5kg starts to get more expensive because it's so darn heavy. So it makes sense to make bigger orders (up to point) to get the shipping per kg price down.

That, or just be located somewhere closer to China.

But you also have to take into account that this is the jfash board, a really nice t-shirt top from a decent jfash brand can easily cost you $40 with another $20 in shipping, and since it's jfash it's not like you can walk into Zara or F21 and find an alternative that you like all that easily. So if someone buys 3 $10 shirts and pays another $30 in shipping they already have 2 more shirts with the same amount of money.

Another common one is sweet lolita shoes. Yes, it costs a bomb to ship, but it's not like Payless stocks pink tea party shoes, so you're gonna end up ordering from very few places, one of them being taobao.
>>
>>10313122
I don't know about other SS but with Superbuy, the more you buy, the cheaper the shipping is per item. It's actually way more expensive to ship only one or two things.

AP USA doesn't get all the MTOs that Japan gets
>>
>>10313204
Please elaborate
>>
>>10313271
Uhh no...
>>
>>10313298
What do people order that’s over 30kg?
>>
>>10313303
sneakerheads tend to order a fuckton of shoes at once, which is really heavy
>>
>>10313298
for the whole package?
>>
>>10313301
You may not have noticed it because there were a lot of AP USA MTOs this year but the cutsew Holy Lantern never came to the US, nor did a couple others I wanted. I got complacent a missed a couple prints I wanted thinking they would get a US MTO

Hey if you send someone a message on LaceMarket and they delete it, does it disappear from your sent messages? I had a seller sell me something as "Like New" but when I received the dress it was missing the back lacing. I sent them two messages asking if they had seen them around and what was up, they were marked as seen... But now that I've finally waited long enough to get a reply, I decided that I was done waiting and to just leave the feedback as ~18 days had passed since my first message. I went to go double check the read dates on the messages to give a time frame on how long I gave the seller to reply from seen and all of a sudden they're gone from my sent box...?
>>
>>10313669
Is their paypal verified on LM? If not, they can't even send messages.
>>
>>10313669
Yes. I have no idea why the message system was made like this but I found this out when I was dealing with a deadbeat buyer a couple years ago and saw that every time I sent her a reminder message, it would not only go ignored but would also magically disappear from my sent box. In your case, this also shows she is getting your messages and is purposely evading the issue. Give negative feedback mentioning this and from now on screenshot everything, some people are just shitty like that.
>>
>>10313689
If you mean linking your paypal, that's not true at all. I had no problem sending messages before getting verified.
>>
>>10313715
Yes and they changed that now. Remove/change your paypal email without verifying it and see it for yourself.

I've been obsessed with this MILK dress, but in my experience their sleeves are too tight on me so I won't buy it new. Does anyone know other brands that released something similar?

Is this Usakumya worth the price?

It's just the pochette I think. Or if it isn't the normal sized pochette could someone identify it so I can check for LM listings to see what it normally sells for?
>>
Why is it that I buy something from LM and the person can automatically send the invoice to my Paypal (unverified)? I can’t for the life of me figure out how to find anyone’s email to invoice them without asking.
>>
>>10314070

The seller is given your paypal email on the listing page after you hit BIN or win the auction.
>>
Does Bodyline's free pmail work with more than one pair of shoes? Or will I be invoiced some fee later even though it doesn't show on the website?
>>
>>10314069
Yep, normal sized Pochette.
>>
>>10314070
Go to the item page after they won/bought it. The paypal address should be written there.
>>
>>10314075
2 pairs of shoes (or any other kind of 'accessory') should be fine. you just can't get two dresses/skirts
>>
>>10313707
Thank you! And I'm assuming since I already messaged LM about this, if she retaliates in my feedback I can just get it scrubbed.
>>
>>10314094
Totally not true, I have done free pmail with 3 dresses before.
>>
I own a pair of MMM OTKs that I really love, but over time the elastic holding them up has lost some flexibility. It was never tight to begin with but nowadays they tend to slide down really easily.
Is there any solution for this other than sock glue? I live in a cold climate and wear warm tights underneath my OTKs most of the time.

>>10308590
I use hangers with clips, sort of like pants hangers

Does the Japan baby store deliver directly to US residents or do I need a SS/to special request through the USA store?

They are different shades and not even intended to be the same. Idk if you realised yet but the eyes are a completely different colour.

Does anyone have a worn pic with the sax cotton candy feet shoe color with a sax-colored AP dress so I can get an idea of whether it will match what I have? I hate how the "sax" accessories I have do not match with the various "sax" dresses I own and I'm sick of buying things that end up somehow not going with anything I already have.

I want to be sure the color will match before dumping 80 bucks onto shoes. I own the sax OP of sugary carnival, so if someone happens to have both this dress and the sax cotton candy feet shoes and can post both of them together that would give me a great idea.

In other news, can we please start reporting colors in hex in descriptions of dress so that we can actually effing match things? Especially since this fashion is both a) expensive and b) almost entirely purchased online, this would be smart. K rant over
>>
>>10314826
On their ig they have pictures of the shoes with dress, you also search by tags
>>
>>10314849
See these look like 2 different blues to me! I can't find any other pictures besides this one you linked. I'll probably just end up getting it anyway, or maybe go for some bodyline crap. Who knows. Who needs shoes anyway.

How does jp umbrella sizing feel on a euro-sized person? Is it functional for heavy rain, or would I be accidentally getting water on my shoulders/skirt/purse as I move? I live in Texas now, so I've grown used to the luxury of super-sized umbrellas and the dread of surprise flood waters.
>>
Are these loliable for old school or am I an idiot?

They're kinda like combat boots but long...
>>
>>10315201
>>
>>10315129
The shoes and bow are definitely two different blues. The shoes are darker.

>>10315164
Burando umbrellas aren't meant for rain. They're for aesthetics. Keep your practical umbrella for when it's raining.

>>10315201
Anon, no.
>>
>>10314826
If it helps I don't think those will match, they're too cool toned/purple leaning

If the soles were chunkier, they'd look better. With the right coord, they may work, but in general I'd say away.
>>
>>10315208
>>10315452
>>10315456
well the website says "rainy and sunny", so I assume it's waterproof, i just don't know if it's wide enough to cover a whole coord. the other lolita umbrellas I found (on WW) said the width is 30"-35", whereas US umbrellas are 40"-45" wide
>>
>>10315457

Ahh. I was trying too avoid thick or chunky soles or high heels I often we because they always hurt my ankles to wear and I'm a daily...I guess I'll just wait until later this year and place a custom order for lower heel height from a taobao brand so I can have them for next year (in a month by the time it comes winter where I live will be over already). I never really see flat Lolita or loliable boots but I hate wearing heeled shoes for everyday (part of why I like old school, I can wear Mary James instead of tea parties)
>>
>>10315537
>tea parties
>heeled
I'm a sweet and classic lolita and I hate them too but wtf
>>
>>10315558

There are some flat ones I do own like the Bodyline ones but many have some heel still even if it isn't a very tall heel and I save those for meets.
>>
>>10315208
>Burando umbrellas
Nah they’re for rain. But brand also sells parasols, which are meant for sun protection. I guess you can use parasols during rainy weather, but their shape is not great for wind and for keeping the rain off you.
t. someone who has both brand umbrella and parasol
>>
Would wearing a cream blouse under a white dress look shitty?
I’m stocking up on basics but I don’t want to buy something right off the bat that won’t go w the single dress I do own.
Thanks~
