So my dumb ass didn’t read the listing for these properly and I just opened these and found out that they’re mirrors instead of cam badges. Is there a way I can securely add a pin onto the backs of these?
>>10240420From an outsider POV: Sand the mirror to rough up the surface, use E6000 glue and glue some pin backs (the ones with the holes).
>>10240420Magnets should also work if you don’t want to damage it
>>10240420Agreeing with magnets. I use really tiny ones from Amazon in my shrine and even those are sturdy, larger/stronger ones would work for a bag.
>>10240420Thirding magnets, get some of the super strong ones if you want it extra secure and just use that to attach from the opposite side of the bag's backing, no glue or extra work required
>>10240420If the magnets don't work out, another non destructive way to use it is putting it in one of those can badge covers and gluing a bar safety pin to the vinyl on the back. They have a 75mm size one that fits most can mirrors, but make sure to measure yours in case the size is different.
>>10240413Thank you for posting actual itabags OP
hey, its the bts anon from a few threads ago! i redid my layout and made a new insert as suggested, im going to fix the uneven bow shapes later so please excuse thosei wanted to ask does anyone have any tricks for can badges that are kind of "loose" and shift/turn around a lot even when pinned down as much as possible? i have that problem visibly a lot in the bottom row, they look fine when i pin them down while the bag is laying flat then some of them wobble out of place when i put the bag up. i was considering adding velcro or magnet tape on the backs maybe?
>>10242130individual rare earth magnets on the other side of the insert might work, they’re stronger than magnet strips
>>10242130Your bag looks stunning. Loving all the extra details like the roses and pearls. This might require you to take it all apart but some people use plastic canvas to pin to and keep badges from shuffling around.
Anyone know the history of itabags? I know it was started by male idol fans, but not much else.
>>10242493No, it’s a total mystery.
>>10242493https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yzvIn0mdXtY&tTiffany Grant made one of Asuka back in like 2004 if you want to get really jokey, but to be fair it does fit the criteria.
>>10242493The actual idea of merch-covered bags like >>10242524 is old as hell. Conbags are older than itabags, really. But wotas are always trying to catch their favorite idol's attention, so it makes sense that they were first to escalate.Penlights became a thing for similar reasons: glow sticks become popular because they caught idol's attention on stage, but then glow sticks weren't special so they needed brighter glow sticks, and then traffic batons, and so on. Then they got banned and replaced with legal penlights.
First time making an actual bag(s), concrit would be great
>>10242572And the second
>>10242130This is the first nice kpop bag I've seen, good job.
>>10242573First bag is shitty because of the terrible flowers, tons of empty space and non diffused LEDs.Second bag would be gorgeous if you took the damn flowers off the top. Seriously, drags the whole bag down. And cover your raw LEDs, you shouldn't have them naked like that it's a stain on the eyes and takes away from your nice layout. Scrap them entirely if you dont know how to diffuse
>>10242572>>10242573I kind of like the flowers but the colors don't really match well. Get flowers that match with the characters color scheme.
>>10242572I actually quite like this one, even with the flowers (that character has a thing with roses, right?). Agreeing with the other anon that the empty space is bothering me, though.>>10242573I really like the layout on this one, but in this case the LEDs and flowers don't go.They're both not bad for your first bags, though
>>10242572For this bag, maybe move the flowers inside the bag to fill the empty spaces? Kind of like the BTS bag posted above.
>>10242630>>10242666>>10242668Thanks for the advice, especially with the lights
>>10242573>>10242572I'm not into the flowers for either character, they come off kinda Christmas-y to me. The layout for the Chrollo bag is great though, I really like how you made space for the figure. Get rid of the big flowers and stick to more of those little ones you put in the bag itself.First bag seems incomplete though, and I agree with the others when they say to diffuse your lights.
Are there any itabaggers you admire or use as inspiration? I follow a few Japanese girls who are hardcore collectors and even though I know nothing about their husbandos, I really admire how much love they have for them. I remember one girl who had tons of Yurio merch, her dedication was pretty impressive but I haven't seen anything from her in a while.
Does anyone have itabags of characters who don't have much in the way of both official and fanmerch? Looking for some inspo.
anyone know if itabag palace is okay to buy from? theres a bag i want there but i'm not sure about the quality.i'd just buy from taobao but i'm also kind of in a rush and was hoping it would ship here a little faster.
>>10243240Check the faq.>>10243335Check the faq.
>>10243348>>10243335Ok I'm an idiot and didn't read the rest of the message, sorry. Just too tired of people whining about no merch. There has been some bags with only few pieces of merch in the older threads, you could try looking through the warosu archives.
>>10243335Itabag palace are just taobao resellers who try to claim they totally made the bags themselves guys really. You see them at a lot of cons and not once have their bags looked anything but cheap and gross. I’ve touched touch the windows on several and I don’t know if it’s the vinyl or something they did but it just feels sticky. Buy from the source or look in the faq for other bags. If you post the design you want someone can probably find you the taobao source.
>>10243335>>10243394They source mainly from Sambag and Pinkymilk, I believe.
These look.... eh. Cute concept I guess, but what characters would you even use them for?https://twitter.com/ohayouclothing/status/1164113995936272386
>>10243783hatoful boyfriend characters and bird pokemon are the first that come to mind
>>10243783>>10243791I've been wanting to make an Iwamine Shuu (Hatoful Boyfriend) bag for ages and I'm kind of sad there's no chukar partridge because that would be a dream come true. I might get the crow because at least the black wouldn't clash with anything, or maybe the pigeon.A bird pokemon bag would be adorable!!
>>10243801I'd love to do a bag of Kazuaki Nanaki and The King! I'm wish they had a button quail bag but I might try the cockatiel or "fantasy chicken". I think those might mesh well.An animal crossing bag would be cute too! The owl one would be great for a Blathers bag.
>>10243791personally as a hatofan i would never want to use a base that isn't the same type of bird as who i'm bagging for and the only MC that's really represented by these is ryouta...
Does anyone know how often Wego restocks their bags? I'm looking at this one specifically, it's sold out in pink:https://wegoec.jp/shop/g/gWG17WN12-LG00040910201/
>>10243807>Animal Crossingmy whole heart, I would love if someone did an AC bag just based off their dream villagers. Something like a diorama bag would be a dream
Forgive my noob-ness but I looked through the links in the FAQ and couldn't find it. Which brand/ model is this two-pocket backpack on the left here? I think the same model was used in:>>10220706>>10222776>>10222868
>>10243899those are the utapri backpacks, anon! colorways are according to each of the boys. you'll need to find them secondhand, they come up on otamart/mercari/suru periodically.
What's the smarter first time purchase, a white bag that goes with everything and could be used for multiple characters, or a bag specifically in your fave's color even if you're not too fond of that color? My fave's color is green but green doesn't suit me imo and I don't own a single green article of clothing so I'm kinda scared that getting a green bag would make me less likely to actually use it.
>>10244003I personally like to personalize the bags itself for the character and while I like to personally match colors, I don’t think most people care about exactly matching with the color so it’s not too much of the end of the world if you’re not matching with the bag (unless you’re really into it). Isn’t there any secondary or other colors within the character/merch you can wear instead? Neutral colors also work as well. Or even get a small colored accessory like a bracelet or earrings as maybe just a tiiiny amount of green will override your opinion of it not suiting your appearance. Perhaps for you it’s best to go white and it’s likely to be the smarter buy to switch up with characters, but I’d personally go for green. (I also love the color green)
>>10244003I started with a white bag for the same reasons, if you want to incorporate the characters colors you can make a green insert.
Dumping a couple of bags from BerryQ's review section.
>>10243783Crow and owl both work really well for Haikyuu.Kuroko has a lot of birds too.
>>10243783I've actually been looking for something to do with all my Piyo merch from KnB like these and all the small plush keychains. Too bad there isn't a canary or something. Don't know which once would work.
>>10244481I think the cockatiel would work well!
What shopping service would you recommend for buying things from mercari?
>>10244492Use the fucking guide.
>>10243801>>10243807Oh man please please post your bags if you do make them, because as a fellow fan I'd love to see them!
>>10243925Thank you, anon! The lavender is perfect for the character I have in mind. Off to the auction sites I go!
>>10244445Never thought I'd ever see a Pesci bag, and I'm glad I now have.
Which proxy/forwarding service do you like best for buying a few/several small items (can badges, mostly) from different sellers? I'm wary of fees getting out of handOut of the ones on the FAQ I've only used Buyee, but that was for a large order and I can't find any straight answers elsewhere
Does anyone have a good source/listing for a double pocketed itabag like the utapri ones but in black?i really wanted to put the plushes i have in the front most pocket and charms up at the top but I can't find any bags with actual good quality to buy.even a similar bag would work, it doesn't need to be the exact design.
Read this on an auction:>代理入札、代理取引はご遠慮下さい。Assuming google translate and my understanding are correct - should I take the risk and buy through a proxy anyway? Has anyone else won an auction then get rejected for buying through a proxy afterwards? Or anything else? I just want some obscure merch
>>10244760Sambag on Taobao does a knockoff.>>10244787Companies that offer proxy services will refuse to buy from sellers that do this. Don't bother asking. Maybe a small-time/personal SS will do it, but I doubt it. Some sellers are just xenophobic as fuck, sorry.>>10244711I like to wait until Zenmarker has a service fee discount going on. Then it's only 100 yen a listing, instead of the usual 300 yen.
Maybe I'm overthinking this but hear me out. How do you all feel about using merch from fanclub-only events without actually being in the fanclub, or from other exclusive events that you did not attend yourself?I found some fanclub photos and other FC-only merch of my favorite actress and bought them to use in my bag but now that I have them in my hands I feel kind of weird about it. The best way I can think to describe it is that I feel like I'm about to commit stolen valor, lol.
>>10244875I can understand where you are coming from. I'm stuck in a similar situation where I'm a huge fan of a stage actor, but due to his fan club being exclusive to Japan so there is no way I could ever join so always miss out on his exclusive merch. I believe if you are a true fan of their work there really isn't any harm in finding a way to get around still owning exclusive merch. Even though you physically aren't attending the events, you still support her in spirit.
>>10242130It looks really great anon! Good job on the improvements.
>>10244875I don't feel bad about it at all, honestly. I can't drop thousands of dollars to head to Japan every time my fave gets a new cafe can badge.
>>10244875A true fan would drop a load of money on getting that merch to begin with
>>10242524I was doing this with my high school purse in college around that time too, lol. I've still got it, but it's random anime, not anything special. Holy shit though, that is an impressive shrine!
>>10244876This bag makes me feel...cozy? I really like it.
>>10245093I know what you're getting at, but any reasonable adult can't give the time or money to fly out to Japan on a whim for a piece of metal with an anime character on it.There's a difference between dedicated and insane.
>>10242524This is so wholesome and cozy, she sounds so happy and non-apologetic about her collection.
>>10245093A lot of fanclubs for bands etc. require you to live in Japan to join or at least be in Japan regularly to attend events or else you're kicked out for inactivity so it's probably less "someone isn't willing to spend a lot of money to get this merch" and more "someone isn't willing to uproot their entire life and find a new job and home in a foreign country".
I think this hobby is cool and stuff but it also seems so wasteful??? Not just money and living space wise but there’s always new merch being released every month and I can’t imagine where it all goes when people don’t buy it. Do they trash it? Have you anons thrown away merch before? Do you anons ever get overwhelmed by your merch?I’m not trying to be the environment police or anything like that but just genuinely concerned with how people handle the excessiveness of it all.....
>>10245553No, I don’t throw away my merchandise or collections. People would just normally... sell it. And if some people get overwhelmed by it, they store it somewhere or just sell it to other people who like the series too. Have it as a discount. This can apply to everything that seems like it’s wasteful outside itabagging though, like clothes, phones, food, make up, grocery bags, etc.
Does anyone have pics of Touhou bags?I've been thinking of making one, not sure if I want to have it be a bag based on a certain game (EoSD only bag) or character bags.
>>10245553I've thrown away merch whenever sellers include random shit from a series I don't know. But yeah like the other anon said, in the end it's as wasteful as any other products you buy.
>>10245634I'm planning my own Flandre bag but there doesn't seem to be a lot of Touhou-themed bags out there. Here's the only one I have saved, and even this isn't particularly great.
>>10245553i guess for a lot of people the "excess" merch either goes into a second/third/w-e or on a larger bag with the rest, a lot of peoples bags are constant wips
>>10245553I don't like cluttering my collections with what I don't like so I usually resell or recycle what nobody wants.
>>10245553I worry about what happens to unsold/unwanted merch as well, but niche merch in general is produced on a MUCH smaller scale than say, almost anything you could find in a department store. The plastic use is high but when you consider a lot of stuff is being made in small batches and a lot of things will be held by people for years, then it's a bit easier to justify it. I've never thrown away any of my own merch, and in the rare case that I no longer want something, I'll usually give it away or sell it. I produce much more waste just buying regular shit from the store than I do buying merch in general, because most of it I truly want and know I will have in my possession for a very long time, so the only things I'm getting rid of are the packaging. It also weirdly helps that I've worked in estate sales before and I've seen a lot of large collections be passed to people who wanted the stuff just as much. It's a lot easier to digest knowing that well kept items can be passed on and valued for a long time rather than thinking of it all as hunks of plastic/metal/whatever that will get thrown into the ocean. That all said, I wish there was a way to reduce waste with packaging and shipping.
Is there any way to salvage badges with faded colors?
>>10245294You dumb fucks they're saying you'd drop money buying that merch regardless not going to Japan to get it
>>10246217Not really, the damage has been done.
>>10246227Yeah but some merch requires being in Japan (especially the fanclub stuff). That's what I was referring to.
Is there a way to protect printed material from the sun? Like UV-resistant plastic or something?
>>10246470UV-blocking film is a thing, but I don't know it it can be used on anything but windows. It's still cheap enough that you should seriously consider it for the room you keep your goods in.Otherwise, you can get glass frames treated with UV-blocking coating for posters, and blackout curtains to keep light exposure to a minimum. Switch to LED lightbulbs, too.
>>10246532Oh, I meant to use in itabags! But I'll look into UV-blocking film nevertheless, maybe there's some lightweight enough to use in bags.
Anyone have tips on how to like not gatekeep? When people say ita-bag or talk about itabag palace etc. Or say it when they mean their conbag
>>10246994You just have to accept that there's always going to be stubborn fools in this hobby and it's not worth correcting them. They'll never learn.
>>10244446I love this, as a Pokemon collector I'd love to be able to tote my smaller plush around instead of just display them on a shelf
>>10246994like if the ita-bag issue bugs you, pull the pole outta your ass, you’re just being a petty asshole nitpicking at something that ultimately doesn’t mean anything
>>10246994The Itabag Palace stuff isn't gatekeeping, we're legitimately trying to keep people from wasting their money on overpriced bootlegs. I do agree that shit like ita-bag is just stupid to whine over.
I wonder how long this will last? I sort of assumed sellers on mercari hated selling to foreigners
>>10247220Buyee is a proxy go between so they don't have to do shit besides ship to Buyee who handles the actual overseas part
>>10247220Every listing I've checked says they don't ship overseas lmao
>>10247043Imagine people starting to typing shit like foot-ball, icehockey and base-ball. Of course there would be people who would correct them.
Does anyone here have any commission recommendations? I’m thinking of getting a custom bag done but have no idea where to reach out to, manufacturers or stores would be appreciated!
>>10247541PunkyPinkCow on Etsy does, but her comms are closed and they're pretty expensive (>$200). You could still message them about maybe getting on a wishlist?
I want this bag in blue so badly, but they've been out for a couple of months nowFeels bad
>>10247247Well that was useless for them to add buyee then.
huh... too niche for itabagging itself.
>>10248118>>10243783Why do people keep making these extremely specific useless bags? There are so many general shapes that no one's ever made that would be 1000x more useful and marketable.
>>10248182Because they're for pin collectors who for some godforsaken reason insist it's the same as itabagging.
>>10248185Even pin collectors are not going to find as much use out of a bird bag or extremely specific fursona bag, is the thing. The coffin bag for example was a good case of a unique shape that has general appeal, and there is so much space for that kind of bag still. The problem is the creator really only wants their extremely specific bag made for their own use and then try to market it to other people.
This feels like a joke bag but we're at the point where it clearly isn't.
>>10248182Normies who want to show off their normie shit. They're more focused on the bag than the stuff inside. They're not itabags and they don't care, lmao.I do want them to quit calling it an itabag though.>>10248230>all this pink>"i should get a blue badge, but grey wouldn't fit lol"k
>>10248182Furry conventionsWent to a small one recently and I saw about a dozen or more of the penis bags, a lot of people were displaying badges they'd commissionedThey're well made, if ugly, but really aren't useful outside of furry shit
>>10248230this is the kind of bag I would've made when I was 15 and would've worn around school super proud of it
>>10248118At least this bag is cuter than their first try, I guess.
>>10248497I'll take the new one over the dick-fox bag any day of the week.
>>10245634I'm trying to make a Mokou bag. I've got like, 6 things for it so far so it's a very sad sight, even in the tiny bag I have. I kind of want to make a bag for my other favorite (Ran) and I'm weighing if I should try to make it 100% her or also include merch with Yukari and/or Chen, because that would increase my options greatly...
>>10245634Here is a photo of my first itabag. I made it last year just in time for a convention, but I never ended up sharing it here. I'm not sure if the lighter colored rubber keychain on the upper right is a bootleg, rerelease, etc., but I included it at the time because I didn't have any substitutions. I'm still collecting more merchandise, so I do plan on revising the bag and adding a few duplicates or alternative items. I welcome any constructive criticisms or ideas.
>>10249009A Yakumo family bag would be really cute! And I know that feeling of having so little merch. I think there's those ita phone case things you could get though.>>10249065Nice bag! It looks pretty alright to me. A striped insert would be cute, but that depends if you're the kind of person who believes canon (no stripes) or fanon.
>>10243783I have a fair amount of bird pins and charms, I was thinking I'd just get one and use it as a general interest bag... though wouldn't it count as an itabag at a certain point? Since the whole thing about them is having a consistent theme and sticking with it. Maybe I'm not snobbish enough for this.
>>10248497Saw someone with this bag irl at a con for the first time, it looks just as phallic in person, out of the corner of my eye I actually thought it was a dick.
>>10249065Oh this is delightful, Patchy is so cute. I agree with the other anon that maybe a patterned background would look nice, but if you're planning on adding more merch then it would be good without it too.
>>10249125>>10249251Thank you! I considered a striped insert at the time, but I wasn't certain. I think I might try it out though for a different bag.
>>10249065Super adorable anon! I love how there is just enough merch to look busy and the little ribbon fillers are darling. Another suggestions is would you ever consider putting simple white lace around the edging of the insert? I think it might tie in nicely with her hat frills.
The dick fox bag has competition. Not only does it have a eyebleeding color palette and a bag focus over merch focus aesthetic, but it also has built in fairy lights!
>>10250114Also this bag was at least 250 dollars according to her etsy prices. What the fuck.
>>10250114Isn't this PunkyPinkCow? She does custom bags I believe so someone may have commissioned this
>>10250114You sound mad that you don't get $250 comms, anon. Also, it's not exactly fair to compare a mass-produced bag to a handmade commissioned one.
>>10250140Yeah it's her, It literally just looks like someone sewed over a heart bag and it adds to that normals focus more on the bag than the merch.>>10250187Anon it looks like shit, don't defend people trying to cash in on our hobby for a quick buck from conbaggers/pinbaggers without understanding the actual hobby.
im completely new to itabag organizing. i got my starter off aliexpress and ive only displayed my collection and i think ive over overestimated the amount required for one bag. (￣ ￣|||) just need to make the insert and layout the badges in a nice aesthetic manner.
>>10248118Lmao fursonapins, the company that literally commercializes furries by cashing in on gay pride and the guy who an hero'd. They turned into a fucking disgusting money hungry company, not surprised to see them whoring itabags now those of us in the enamel pin community hate these furfags. Tbh I'd rather the dick bag so I can art least get a laugh
>>10250451Ooh, can I get a link to that bag listing?
>>10249678Thank you! That is an excellent idea. I hadn't thought of adorning the insert with lace, but I might try it out since there is extra space. I'll have to see if I can find any lace that catches my attention.
>>10250114Speaking of ugly bags...The pins are fine but the bag is hideous
>>10250187>defending that ugly thingYou should be ashamed of yourself.
>>10250566>funko pops in the bgChecks out. Did they commission that bag too?
>>10250566I get that cast members like their badges, but do you really have to make it the centerpiece? I don’t even think Disney pinbags are automatically bad (there was a cute wall e one) but stuff like this makes it hard to defend them. I’ve seen like two good regular pin bags though.
I took anon's advice and switched from a pink to a white bag, still need to fill this out with more rubber keychains
>>10250670My question is how can i be sure my official merch is legit when i've bought it in japan/at cons but it comes in plastic packaging like this?
>>10250672Compare the trademarks/copyrights (things that can be stamped on the back of rubber straps or is on the edges of acrylics and badges generally). Checking the colours (typically for rubber straps). Making sure that merch actually exists in some official capacity (I've seen bootlegs where they will take the pocket mirror design and just make badges with it). Typically second hand won't come with the box (or if it does it's flattened), in my experience buying from Japan. Can't really speak for cons since I don't really shop at them.
>>10250672secondhand shops in japan generally screen for bootlegs
>>10250209>>10250566They're clearly well-constructed, idk what to tell you. They're both commissioned, so she probably didn't pick the fabric herself? The customer most likely asked for it. It's one thing to say the fabric choice is ugly (they're not my cup of tea either), but shitting on the shop owner seems unnecessary. $250 for a bag that's entirely handmade, with built in lights, seems reasonable to me. Factor in the cost of materials, bag hardware, lights, pattern production, and labor, and...yeah, I'd want to charge some serious money too, especially if they're in high demand.I don't think it's fair to say she's just trying to cash in, either. She's been making those bags for over a year now. If she wanted to make a "quick buck", she'd just mass produce a bag like everyone else is doing.
>>10250696>They're clearly well-constructedAnon are you blind? I'm gonna assume you're either closing your eyes or you're punkypinkcow herself it's literally on the same tier as a grandma's quilt sewing project if not worse. >Factor in the cost of materialsIt's shitty fabric from joanns, it's in no way expensive or high quality materials, fairy lights are also cheap as fuck and finding itabag patterns aren't hard especially since she's doing the generic heart WEGO bootleg. >She's been making those bags for over a year now.And she herself doesn't care about the hobby, the most she's done in terms of actual itabagging is she made a todoroki bag with fanmerch charms she got at a con. I really don't get why you're defending her so hard, did you buy one of her shitty bags or something?
>>10250779Not that anon, but anything custom made will usually end up running up pretty high. As for fabric, it looks like it's all licensed fabric, so it's probably not the cheapest on the market Not sure how well constructed it is though, I think the bag should take a beating first and see how it takes it
>>10250779No, I didn’t buy one from her. I just have more respect for people making custom stuff that you do, I guess. I don’t get the unnecessary vitriol you have for a small Etsy shop with less than 100 sales. Perhaps, again, you’re mad that she can afford to charge so much for something you find little value in.
>>10250879Nayrt, but while the heart part seems well constructed (and I've seen some atrocities in the FB group), the rest of the seams look weirdly puffy, like she didn't press the seams correctly ?
>>10250963I think part of the problem is the lining she's using isn't stiff enough.
Btssb and aatp added new buttons to their webshop
>>10250879I think it's more that they're mad that they can't afford a custom bag and can't sew for shit to make oneThe fabric choices on those two bags is definitely bad, but she's made a few bags that I think look genuinely nice. The shape of the bags is generic, too, but from my few experiences with sewing it wouldn't surprise me if they took dozens of hours apiece
I'm having the toughest fucking time finding any more of theseIt's a Swimmer knockoff from what I'm gathering, but I want it for these shoulder straps and their version lacks them
>>10251052From what I remember this knockoff only came in blue. Doing a quick search through ali/taobao it seems like it's just gone. Not surprising, since I think it's kind of an ugly bag and it only came in one colour. Kind of limits how much it'll get bought. I'd suggest looking for other crossbody bags. Wego has some nice ones, and zakka has a solid collection though I'm not sure if any of them run as small as that one is. I have a small pouch crossbody that I snagged off of rakuten but can't remember many details about the listing.
>>10250779sperg more anon
>>10251113I wish the layout was better, but I like how they customized the bag.
>>10251113If customizable, I could see someone doing a Lumiere bag with this. There’s tons of pretty boy werewolf characters out there
>>10250670Would appreciate concrit as well. I have a couple rubber straps on their way, but I'm worried my bag is looking overly busy
>>10251113I am absolutely delighted to see someone else in the western world loves the ginga series
>>10251113>>10251199Oh my god I'm actually working on my own Ginga bag too! So glad I'm not gonna be the only one running around with a bag full of dramatic dogs.
>>10251217Anon! Please post it when you are done, I hope you managed to find some of the stage merch... I just about lost my mind when I saw it was getting a one with how little the series suits it.
>>10251113Can we just follow the global rule and ban furry shit from these threads?Thoughts on the new zakka bag? I like the two colors idea. Thinking of getting the white and blue for my new proto arthur bag
>>10251714If someone doesn't use this for Eldagard I will be so sad
>>10251714it's for a classic manga series that just got a stageplay, it's as much animeshit as whatever you bag for whether you like it or not
>>10251714Fuck, I just got a new black bag for my favorite band whose colors are red and black. Also, do any of you own the zakka ruffle bags? The ruffles look really uncomfortable and awkward to me, I'd love to know if they're nicer in real life.
>>10251818They're kinda silky I just cut mine off because they didn't suit the character
>>10251714>Can we just follow the global rule and ban furry shit from these threads?Stop being a child. That theme isn't even furry, it's a manga about literal dogs.
>>10251714Love the bag, wish they had a red and blue versionBut Ginga is a well-known anime, if that's where you draw the line we should just start banning any shit that has non-human, non-alien protags
>>10251714Ginga is a cult classic please take your negative attitude elsewhere. If what is posted in this thread offends you so much, you possibly need to take a break from visiting here.
Have I entered a parallel world where the furry shit penis bags are encouraged?
>>10252189learn to read, Anon, the other Anons were talking positively about the cult classic manga/anime series Ginga, not the penis bags.
Have any of you made diorama bags? I got some nice secondhand figures of my girls and kinda want to build a little dollhouse-sized scene in my bag now.
>>10252189It's good to look at bad examples of your hobby as well as good, to see ways of improvement. It's relevant content. Stop trying to control the thread.

>>10252383Only when you do
I have a random question about merch that I figured would be relevant here. A series I follow is getting a new season next month, but a few days ago it was announced that they were re-releasing a bunch of the merch sets from last season. Is this is ominous sign of the series not doing well enough sales wise? I know there’s still time for new stuff to come but I was wondering how common this was.
>>10250451TT _ TT only could fit half of my collection onto one bag. wish i could use the ishikirimaru super groupies bag i have but i would never scratch or damage it on my life.
>>10252189In a hobby saturated in flavour of the month series, I am going to be excited to see a lesser known series get some love, penis bag or not.>>10252479Hmmm. I don't think it's an ominous sign per say. For example, gbf just rereleased a bunch of older merch and I wouldn't say that series is doing badly at all. Perhaps there was a demand for it, or as you say your series just got a new season, they might be releasing older stuff so the new people jumping in have a chance to buy it and they get a quick buck out of it?>>10252652Hey this looks great anon! Very pleasing layout, love how all the greens tie in well. I see there are a few gaps near the bottom sides, you could possibly fit some more in if you wanted to?

I live in Japan and I'm wondering how many people would be interested if I proxied for people from mercari?
>>10254140This. I think it would be pretty adorable too see a 5-12 year old carrying the bag, but I can imagine the people buying it are going to be mostly adults with conbags.
>>10254196Depends on what kind of commission fee you’d charge and how fast your response time is.
>>10254220I do regular proxying for stage events I go to as well as some animate/jump shop proxying so I'd like to think of myself getting stuff done pretty quickly. But I just want to gauge interest before I commit myself to it.
>>10253264god this is adorable I'm in literal pain I love itFascinating how they made such a cute ensemble with like no merch
>>10254242nayrt but its hard to say without knowing your fee breakdown/expected turnaround time/hours of service. the last one especiallythough desu i’m more interested in the in-person part, the services i currently use for that kind of thing are too cost prohibitive to do as more than giant orders twice a year
>>10254242Do you have some kind of blog where we can view rates or tos with your stage orders?
>>10254242Thirding. Give some basic prices, I can't really judge interest until I know how much it'll cost me. Maybe put together a little page
Ok so im planning out my first itabag for Banjo-Kazooie (I main them in smash and wanna bring this bag w me to tournaments)Im working on a budget so this is the best bag i can get at the moment tho I might upgrade it down the road Im planning to put all the charms/buttons on a gold fabric insertI also am gonna order several more buttons and some more charms as time goes on (just tight on money rn)any advice or ideas to make it more "banjo kazooieier" or just general tips? Im new to this and this is my first ever bag so dont rip into me too hard. Yall just seem to know what youre doin
>>10254438>>10254668For Mercari I charge are 25% + 400yen of the item total + domestic shipping + international shipping. Usually I do two part payments 1) item/domestic shipping and 2) international shipping. As for turnaround time I would say on average its a week. Since I also work full time.>>10254611Unfortunately I don't since I only deal over twitter via PMs.
>>10254765For starters, you should lose the perler bead art in the middle there. Those are never cute and makes your bag look tacky.A gold fabric insert is an alright idea(incorporating a jigsaw piece pattern would look cute too imo) Maybe even getting a custom piece of fabric made with a Spiral Mountain screenshot printed on it would also be a neat idea for an insert. The charms and pins you have so far are decent and the art on them is cute if you stick to cute polished art you should be fine. Try to get pins that are cohesive in size too. You have two that are the same size which is good, so getting another one that matches the size of the bigger pin would make it come together a bit more.
>>10254765It might be too elaborate or possibly tacky if done poorly, but Kazooie's wings sticking out from the backpack is a cute idea imo. Good luck, I love Banjo Kazooie.
>>10254800I was mostly using the bead art to fill space. Should I focus on getting more charms or buttons? I know teepublic can use their shirt designs as buttons for p cheap so Im gonna order a bunch of buttons from there but should I get more charms? Banjo charms are a lil rare but I can find more>>10254805that sounds like a really cute idea! Tho im not sure how id make that work since im not the best sewer. I could ask my grandma i guess since shes p good with that sorta thing
>>10254864>Banjo charms are rare> "Rare"Anyway if you can find a big enough jiggy that'd make a cute center piece, or maybe a jinjo or smash symbolhttps://justm3hstudios.storenvy.com/products/28423325-classic-gaming-banjo-kazooie-keychainhttps://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/733366649/banjo-kazooie-acrylic-charms-100https://www.etsy.com/listing/717053684/banjo-kazooie-keyring-charm-jiggy-super?https://www.etsy.com/listing/692356735/jiggy-keychain-banjo-kazooie-tooie?https://www.etsy.com/listing/715094482/banjo-kazooie-video-game-custom-enamel?https://www.fanattik.co.uk/collections/microsoft/products/banjo-kazooie-limited-edition-large-pin-badgehttps://ursamajorsupply.com/collections/featured-collection/products/golden-collectables-preorderhttps://www.iam8bit.com/collections/rare/products/banjo-pin-banjo-kazooiehttps://www.iam8bit.com/collections/lapel-pins/products/kazooie-pinMaybe also thinking about getting a non-heart bag at some point, a plain open window might look fine in a brighter color. Bluerobotto is pretty affordable.
>>10254773as in, a week to check out the listing and take initial payment to make a purchase? that fee is nice for individual items but those usually go fast if they’re priced well, not sure i would bother. still interested in the irl/stage pickups though if you drop your twitter.
This was originally what i was gonna do. That being 3 chars for one bag but i decided it probs wouldnt turn out good so i decided against it
>>10255028That’s good since honestly it looked like a mess here, I’d definitely recommend getting a red bag from zakkamart though!
>>10255028Looks like a hot mess already, def stick to just Banjo KazooieIs that the heart bag from Hot Topic?
>>10255142Im not sure where it came from. My friend brought it back to me from a trip since I have no itabag stores near me so I have no idea where its from. Yeah it looked REALLY messy which is why i decided to only focus on banjo>>10255098yeah it was really messy so i just scrapped the idea for just banjo. Ill have to look into those bags. I was planning on getting a red bag of some kind for a terry itabag down the road when i finish my banjo oneAlso got some gold fabric for the insert. Was thinking of getting flowers or bows or something to put around the charms in the insert but idk yet
>>10254949I mean if I get sent the listing and the buyer pays right up away Ill have everything ordered and shipped out to the buyer in a week or so (I mean there are a lot of variables here, including how long it takes for the buyer to pay, how long it takes for the item seller to ship, etc)irl stage pickups only involve the stages I actually attend but if you're interested in what shows I have confirmed for the year drop me a dm @leoppii
>>10255149>I have no itabag stores near meIt's called the internet anon, you're using it right now.
>>10255447I know but Im worried if I get one on ebay itll be crappy or something. I should probs just bite the bullet and buy some actual nice ones off these sites instead of being stingy
Had to post this here for the UtaPri bros
>>10255447Kek. So basic but funny.
>>10255488Don't buy from ebay if you don't know what you're looking for. Usually don't buy from ebay at all. Just buy directly from an actual retailer's site like wego or zakkamart. FAQ has a section on proxies.
>>10255509I’m very excited to see it again. I saw it at the AX premiere and am ready to catch the 3 showings near me this weekend. I just wish I could have finished my Lycoris bag beforehand to take along. Unfortunately I need a bit more merch before I can start properly brainstorming a layout. >tfw us theaters will never sell the movie merch
>>10255637This bag is ugly.
>>10255650Bag wasn't a suggestion for anon, just an ugly related pic for the threadWhy do people think these things look fine
>>10255488You deserve something crappy if you can't even take 10 mins to read the FAQ.
Opinions on patches on itabags? I got a cute patch related to my character and I want to put it on the side of the bag without the window since its a tote bag.
>>10255699i love accents like these when they're either woven in cohesively in the layout or added to the exterior like you're planning. if there's space on the window side to fit it i'd recommend giving that a shot, but i have no idea how big the patch is or what your bag design is like.
>>10255611Gorgeous base bag
>>10254765Fan gamer has some official enamel pins, a small plush would be cute too if you can find one. You could also make a Keychain with puzzle pieces maybe
>>10255681No idea, even as a pin bag it's pretty trash and unusable.
>>10255605eBay is great as long as you make sure what you're buying is from Japan also they have buyer's guarantee to you get your money back if anything goes wrong
>>10255696This, anon’s have gave them possible options for bags as well and they keep ignoring it.
How long do you usually wait before making an itabag? I've been infatuated with Dimitri since the timeskip trailer and all the fanmerch on Twitter is tempting, especially since Nintendo is awful at making merch that doesn't reuse the same character stock art 500 times.I usually give it 6 months to a year before deciding whether I like a character enough to potentially spend hundreds, but I'm worried the FE3H fanmerch will dry up once the FFVII remake releases and I'll miss my chance.
>>10256407Ive looked at them and got one
>>10255696I did look at the FAQIve already ordered a bag off there thats better
>>10256439>>10256441Nobody cares and there’s no reason to double post.
>>10256415Whenever you feel the love, really.
is there a way to use stickers in your itabag w/o messing them up or is just better to not even try
>>10256485You could laminate them to protect them
>>10256335That's why I said 'if you don't know what you're looking for' and 'usually'. It was directed at a newbie, who most likely doesn't know what they're looking for.
>>10256415Approach the artists and say something amongst the line of being tight on money at the moment and inquire after if they'll have it in stock in the future. Also anon, I love FE3H too. You should drop those tempting merch links sometimes.
>>10256415As long as you feel up to it, reallyTsuritama anon from last thread here and I've waited long enough to consider a bag that finding merch has gotten to be a hassleI've got a simple design in mind, but my merch is slightly mismatched in regards to Natsuki and Akira and I'm being stubborn about having all the boys repped and matching
This is the stupidest thing I've ever doneBut it's also an itabag so you get to suffer with meOrganization in it is pretty shit but I guaran-fucking-tee there isn't another person stupid/crazy enough to sew monster arms to their bag so I got that going for me, which is niceShould I go full fucking tilt and add LEDs? If it's gonna be dumb might as well be turbo dumb.
>>10257234I'm not familiar with the character, but I love how fucking ridiculous this looks.
>>10257234Take the keyrings off of the charms and I think it would be a pretty cool bag.
Can someone post reaper anon's bag? I've been browsing fanmerch and everything looks atrocious for bagging. I wanna know how they did it.
>>10257290Good call. That will be my next project.
>>10256415If something speaks to me but I'm not sure if it's really gonna be a longer interest of mine I just get a few pieces of merch I really like and try to make do with those until I'm ready to invest in more merch. I've done this with characters from a few flavor of the month shows (Voltron, ZomSaga) and it's worked out pretty well for me, I get to show my love and slowly amass a collection of fake flowers, lace, rosettes etc. that covers every color of the rainbow.
Anyone here have any cosy bed set ups? Saw this on twitter and makes me wanna jump on those bed plushies
>>10258331Dropped my images like a twat
>>10258333I'm more interested in the setup they have for those plushies on the left. Looks like rings glued together?
>>10258343It’s a holder for socks or scarves or something similar
Are there any backpacks that come in black that have zippers around the transparent section? So basically the UtaPri backpacks but in black. I know there's the zakkamart one but that one only has a flap and I'd like something that offers a bit more protection against the elements. Zakka also has the 4-way bag/ backpack that also comes in black but it looks kinda flimsy to me and I really only need a backpack.
>>10257234what is the character's name? i love the 'sleeves' on the bag
>>10257234This is amazing, if you have any progress photos I'd love to see them
>>10240413Stupid question but what is a good source for clear crossbody Itabags?
>>10259588did none of the links in the faq tickle your fancy?
>>10259589Read the FAQ :(. It's assumed and all the pictures are of shoulder bags.
>>10257234Why does it have arms I don't get it
>>10257234Could have at least stitched those accents instead of hot gluing them, looks kind of janky.
>>10259593You’re supposed to check the sites listed, dumbass.
Hows this looking so far?
>>10260191Honestly, not good. I would recommend switching to either k tool or the other character and changing the insert for a start and then later on change the bag to a color to suits the character chosen more as well as not having the safety pins showing. Don’t give up though anon!
>>10260191The gold looks good with K. Rool, but not with the other one. I think this is a good start though. I'm not really sure what colours to pick if you really want to keep both characters though. As far as layout goes though, I think the charms being the center would be better than the buttons. Looks kinda awkward as is.
>>10260193thanks for being nice lol. I was expecting ppl in this thread to be p mean about it since im so new. Ill do those things. Thank you.
>>10260193Took your advice and made it only k roolI should order some more buttons and charms to fill out the sides and some green and red flowers to go around itWill probs order a green heart bag soon too
>>10260205Much better looking already, not sure about flowers though but aside from that it looks pretty good.
>>10260205Much better, but flowers wouldn't look right at all considering the character and the perler bead art makes the whole thing feel cheap, somebody else mentioned earlier to lose it in your first tries and I'm still backing that up
I tend to buy bags with a character in mind and modify the outside of it with embellishments, but I'm moving to a giant curved BlueRobotto backpack and I'm stumped. Does anyone have itabag inspo with exterior decorations that aren't heart windows?
>>10262402>Does anyone have itabag inspo with exterior decorations that aren't heart windows?Lurk moar, heart windows aren't that common anymore outside of normies who don't actually participate in the hobby outside of pinbags and conbags.
>>10262408I don't mean a plushie or can badge rosette hanging outside the bag, but modifications like >>10257234 and >>10251113 to the bag itself. I tend to see more heart window itabags modified because of the extra blank space outside, so I wanted to see if there were other examples.
Excuse the gimmick bag, but I could use some advice. I'm stuck on an insert color. I was thinking yellow and whi e striped fabric would be good. Or would a different shade of blue be better?
I'm a sucker for bags like this one, they manage to look great despite using minimal merch. I do wish the person who made this bag had attached some charm or maybe a small plushie to the outside of the bag to show that they own more than one (1) piece of merch but oh well.
Finished V.1 of my shrine bag! I wish I'd spaced the flowers a little more to show off the picture but it'll do for now. There's not really any official merch of the character so I decided to keep it super simple and add a squeaky plush I got from a fan artist! I also want to get the photo properly printed so it's clearer.>>10257234I saw your bag on twitter, I love the concept of the arms lolI'm planning an Emet bag too in the same style as my Haurchefant one!
>>10265623The flowers kind of clash with the bag...does the character like flowers or something?
>>10265594I think yellow stripes would be cute
>>10265753Its because they don't actually have any merch in the bag, just that plush keychain on the outside and a printed picture inside. They needed to fill out the rest with something
>>10265618Ugh I have some acrylic stands that I'd love to do something like this with, but they move around everytime the bag jostles. How do people keep everything steady?
>>10265753>>10266267The character died in game so it's meant to be like a memorial photo/shrine (hence the black and white + black ribbons over the photo)
>>10266281I can't find the photo right now but the person who made the cafe diorama posted ages ago also posted a closeup photo of it where you could see how they kept their acrylic stands from moving. They had attached a thicker sheet of transparent material (plastic maybe, or acrylic) to the keychains and then attached that material to the "roof" and "floor" of the bag.You could also try a thin, transparent, high strength thread like jewelers' thread to tie the stand to any other decoration.
>>10265623>>10266471I would try making it more obvious that it's meant to be a memorial shrine by drawing more inspiration from actual shrines for the dead. Something like pic related. I think step one should be to try making a little frame for the photo since memorial photos are usually framed.
>>10266471>>10265623It's the wrong flower -- you need chrysanthemums.
>>10266471i would bring the photo to the front, in a frame if it isn't already like >>10266488 said, since that'll make it a little more obvious. as it is the flowers are drowning out the picture, but the borders of the frame should help that. it'll still have a minimalist look, but it'll be much more readable.
It shows something about the state of the hobby that we've all stopped commenting on bootlegs and obviously terrible bags.
>>10266680nothing left to say that hasn't been said before desu
>>10266486>>10266281Here's a closer photo of the way they keep their acrylic stands in place.
>>10266486>>10266749I must be dumb, this looks like they cut slits in a foam base and connected their stands that way?I'll definitely try it out, I've always wanted to make one and do it right

Hey, so I'm hoping to sell this Ichinose Tokiya merch I had on an old ita bag. It's all second hand but in pretty good condition! Hopefully this is the right place to post this, I haven't been on here in a few years. I was hoping to get about $45 USD for it all, not including shipping, but I'm open to other offers! If you're interested in any/all of it feel free to email me.Also sorry for the shitty picture, I had to crop out some other items in the picture that aren't for sale.
>>10269107I would try posting on the Facebook page too. More people will see it.
>>10250187You made it, didn't you
Kind of a long-term WIP! Concrit/suggestions accepted but I mostly just thought it could be fun to get opinions from people who are more serious about the hobby. I'd like to add some lotus flower elements soon and maybe sew some of the charms down so they don't move around. The stickers haven't had their backings removed and are in place with a temporary adhesive. My next planned bags are Sekiro (character) and Dungeon Meshi (general)!
>>10269466desu it looks pretty messy and unfinished. Tons of empty space, glitter window obscuring the merch, and not a lot of cohesive item placement. I think if you got duplicates and filled the empty background with something, it'd be better looking.
>>10269235Thanks! Will do, that's a good idea.
>>10269466It's nice to see another HnK bagger! The basics: making an insert would help a lot with planning merch placement, and a lighter background would make the glitter window not as obnoxiously in your face. That string of beads is pretty clunky, I would alternate it with a pattern of darker/smaller red beads/gem drops in it, or add them to the gold chain would fit the aesthetic more. Otherwise, ditch them and remove the keyrings on your charms and safety pin them with a jump ring directly to the bag instead. I personally think chains only look good if you have multiples of the same piece of merch to grapevine or symmetrical merch, and you have neither available at the moment.imo I would try making an insert with their skin color and see how grouping the merch with their gem hole placements would seem... Padparadscha is pretty hard to find in the AA.
Still a work in progress but I'm glad I finally got to take this to WDW. I need to get more trading pins for it but I have four so far on the handles.
>>10269582I think the layout is good desu. I don’t see the need for dupes.
>>10268977The only real immature child moment I’ve witnessed was this one time when someone threw a tantrum because someone else had already claimed the character they wanted from a split, otherwise it seems pretty chill. If you’ve got beef, stop acting like an immature child and bitching about it anonymously.
>>10269641>>10269582Thank you for the advice! I really like the idea of adding red drop-shaped beads and maybe changing the placement of the string... I'd originally thought of having some raw quartz points but went with quartz beads and the heart gem (barely visible in the photo) instead. I'm a bit attached to them so I don't want to get rid of them fully but I could definitely make them fit better. The glitter window is the bane of my existence so I'll look into finding a fabric I'd like for the backing if that would make it less obnoxious.
>>10240420Good taste, anon
>>10240413Where do you often see calls for merch splitting? I've seen it before for series that I don't follow or care enough to buy for, but they've appeared to be very informal (like through DM's and such). I read through the buyfag.moe and FAQ, but didn't see any info. Apologies if I'm blind, deaf, and dumb, but what's the etiquette regarding splits and where can I join a group?
>>10270075I see them on discord/twitter/facebook.
>>10270075What show/franchise are you looking for?
>>10269642Adorable! I'm hoping at some point they make enough merch to do a dole whip bag.
>>10270151The only thing I've seen recently is the the line of scented plushie pillows that hit the outlets recently for around $10. Too big for a bag but would be a nice addition to a collection.
>>10270119Thanks, senpai.>>10270147None I'm desperate for at the moment, but I suppose I've been looking for The Promised Neverland, My Hero Academia, Fruits Basket. Those are the ones at the top of my head at least.
What's everyone's opinion on using cards in ita bags? I don't see too many of them unless the cards are the main focus of the bag.
>>10271246I love it
>>10271246Well for a card game focused show, I think it's absolutely on point. They might have done so in the picture, I can't tell, but I think laminating them would be a good idea to not only protect them, but make it possible to mount the card.
>>10269642This is precious, thank you for posting!
>>10271435It doesn't look like those cards have any kind of protection but it's probably not a huge concern since the window's already covering it. I know card protectors exist and there's some with holes to hang them from, so that's probably the best way to add them to a bag.
>>10268985This is why I've always just lurked in there for the merch news. Ya'll are better off not joining at all, the level of toxic in there is insane.
>>10271738you do know there are two itabag discords anon? Which are you even prattling on about.
Is this bag a knock off of something nicer? It's the perfect color & size, but construction quality on the aliexpress listing looks like crap.
>going through the old threads, planning on making a bag soon so trying look at as many good and terrible bags as possible>planning on making a bag for Gangrel despite almost no merch and only a handful of shit fans>find this>cryThe tsum plush and the amount of official merch in there deserve so much better. I HAVE to do better than this or I'm killing myself
>>10273057Anon- Don't kill yourself over a shit bag, just do better than them and know that you've done better than them. (Unrelated bag)
Has anyone bought a complete bag off yahoo jp?
I dunno if the couple of Hatoful Boyfriend baggers are still around, but hatofulshop is having a huge sale on their baggable merch. One of their pinsets is 70% off and most of their rubber straps are half off. Figured I share here since I'm not bagging for HF right now
>>10243783For the crow, Crow (SB69) and Rue (Princess Tutu) come to mind!
>>10274145a-anon? Crow is a hedgehog
>tfw bag for a very popular series>Western fans are shit and insane>Recently meet japanese fans>they're super nice, put put a lot of great content and are polar opposite of western fans I've metI now see the light
>>10274150Yeah, but the name pun is fun, haha
>>10273099I probably could've phrased it better all things considered, but thank you for the concern desuPic related is their updated bag, which is way better but still not great>random charms of OC>bootleg unfitting bag>salami in the corner doe
>>10274233Critiques on Their Bag- >CONS: Knockoff ToAlice Baggu sparkles are not ideal. Takes away from the actual merch>Also those blue background charms are awfully distracting to the red of his hair. >Plush need their own plush prison if they're being pressed against the vinylPro? They've improved some...>Looks like they have the beginnings of a grape pick(Need to Group the rubber charms together imo)>Best- Salami in the corner is awfully fitting (jk)
Is there a split merch group besides fb and fb discord? I've looked and found one on mfc but you need to have an account for 3 months before you can join.
Anyone have any more examples of people using fake flowers like rosettes? I know someone posted some a while ago but this was the only one I could find.
Are there any photos of Robotto's bags in yellow? The one on their website is a shitty photoshop, so I'm hoping the yellow they actually use isn't as gross looking.
>>10274591Unrelated but every time I see this bag I get reminded that I don’t have that specific Piplup card and it makes me a little sad on the inside
This towel turned out to be much bigger than I expected and didn't really fit into the bag. I tried folding it so that at least the band's name would be visible but the only way to do that was to also fold part of the middle under itself. What do you think, does it look okay even with the big fold down the middle or should I just scrap the idea and not keep the towel in the bag?
