This is not the cosplay help thread.

If a dress waist ends up hitting higher than my natural waist, should I also wear my petti up higher?
>>
Do cotton blouses work under polyester JSKs? I just got my first oldschool polyester piece and the frumpy look of cotton seems so out of place.
>>
>>10228557

Wouldn't you test this by wearing it?

(For me, no. Wearing the petti higher just makes me look fatter. If your petti is sticking out the bottom, get a shorter one, or roll down the top for a temporary fix)
>>
When you go to the bathroom, do you put your petticoat up, down, or take it off completely? Not sure what the least awkward way is.
>>
>>10228577
You master the scoop n swoop

>Pick everything up from the back
>lift up and push forward till everything's out of the danger zone
>Proceed with caution
>Clutch the mass poof in front of you with one hand while struggling for TP with other hand
>>
Do AP grand bazaar items ever get an online release?
>>
>>10228582

Unpredictable.

The truly unpopular special sets end up online.

The truly monstrously popular MTOs sometimes eventually do end up with another online release. Or sometimes not.
>>
>>10228569

You seem to have answered your own question, if it doesn't look right and you don't like it, just change it out until you get a coord you actually like.

In general, if it's truly old school and not oldschool-inspired, brands usually take extra care to use fabric that looks more like imitation twill, which does fine next to something like cotton broadcloth or lawn, which is what old school blouses are made of.

The stuff that's oldschool-inspired and not actually old school do tend to use chiffon and other types of modern fabric, those should be coorded with whatever works with them, since they're not really old school to begin with.
>>
>>10228600
Thank you!
It’s a very simple old Boz JSK, the fabric looks like a matte, dense, silky chiffon. The only blouses I have are cotton and slightly frumpy/casual looking, so I’m actually looking to buy a separate one to coord with it. I might have to look for something more simplistic and elegant if it has to be cotton.

What's the best way to buy a lolita parasol if you live in Europe?
>>
Has anyone got any shop recommendations for leather victorian boots? Been trying to find some high quality boots for lolita, mainly looking for places in europe.
>>
>>10228686
American Duchess is always good for leather shoes. Or look into victorian historical reproduction sellers
>>
Are there any brands that have (cotton) unlined dresses currently in stock?
>>
>>10228685
Either from a shop near to you, or ordering from a brand.
>>
>>10228729
Thanks??? What is the best way? Are there shops in Europe that sell lolita parasols? Will shipping be 10000 yen if I buy it from a brand?
>>
>>10228441
If I see a someone BIN’d a dress I really want a while ago, is it poor etiquette in the lolita world to message them and ask if they’d want to sell for the price they paid?
>>
>>10228909
Yes, jfc. But if you offer 50% more it could work
>>
>>10228909
Yes, don’t do it. It’s rude as fuck and shows a massive sense of entitlement
>>
>>10228909
>>10228914
I have sold something to someone who messaged me about it like a year later. She haggled and I ended up losing some money, but I didn't wear it so whatever. Hope she got some happiness from it.
>>
>>10228918
>>10228914
I was thinking it was possible the person didn’t want it anymore or didn’t like the fit or something. Ok.
>>
>>10228731
Depends on the brand, but it was 3400 yen for me.
>>
>>10228921
If they didn’t want it any more or didn’t like the fit they would sell it fucking dumbass
>>
>>10228909
I don’t think so. It would be like they got to wear the dress however many times they wanted for free in the end if they got their money back like that. I personally wouldn’t think it’s rude.
>>10228918
How would someone asking me IF I wanted to get an item off my hands that THEN they would buy it off of me entitled? It’s not like they’re saying “sell me the dress”.
>>
Is there a specific term in Japanese for a cutsew OP rather than just cutsew カットソー?
>>
>>10228932
But they would sell it for a cheaper price than they bought it for and wouldn’t know that there’s someone out there who would pay their full price. This is the stupid questions thread. Why lolitas are hostile all the time idk
>>
>>10228932
Actually no, it's one of those things people procrastinate sometimes for years.
>>
>>10228909
I would ignore and block you if you just asked me out of the blue if I wanted to sell one of my dresses that you found by creeping on my past sales posts. WTF? If I want to sell my things I list them. I don’t even ask my friends such a question. Much less ‘for what they paid’. Get out, rudeling!
>>
>>10228914
This. Be as polite as possible, only message after quite some time has passed. Don't just randomly message "i saw you buying this, are you selling it?". Start the conversation like a normal person, then say you saw the listing while browsing, you saw them slaying it in a coord, you saw their awesome wardobe post, if they ever consider parting with it, you'd offer a price 50%-200% more than their original price etc. Just don't be rude and don't lowball. Despite what cgl says, 99% will get back to you if you offer the original price pr retail + 200% or more.
>>
Will I get crucified if I post one of my coords with a VW dick necklace?
>>
>>10228947
Prices of things depreciate over owners and time
>>
>>10228952
Yes. Only certain VW is ok with lolita. This isn’t one of the pieces.
Exception: if you are pretty AND can do it brilliantly with a very expensive and starkly plain dress, maybe some armour, great shoes and a fabulous photo. That’s probably your only hope, it better be genuine too. We can spot fakes.
>>
>>10228953
Not if the condition stays the same and demand for it goes up.
>>
>>10228953
Tell that to everyone who owns a rarer dress that doesn’t hit the market very often. Nope. Plus it’s hugely rude to stalk someone’s closet and ask to buy things not listed for sale.
>>
>>10228909
Don’t do this. I buy things at BIN price usually that I want to keep. Otherwise a will haggle. I would think it was very rude for someone to stalk the dress through my buy post and just hit me up to sell it, much less at the price I paid. I’m not sure if I’d even reply to this kind of message or if I did, just something short as ‘I’m not interested in selling the dress.’
>>
>>10228957
No one “stalks” closets. When you type in an items name on google LM listings for it come up even if it was sold a year ago.
>>10228956
Taobao $40 stuff? I’m skeptical.

>>10228952

Anyone have recommendations for cute Lolita tights or OTK socks that would fit a tall/muscular build. My calves are 39cm and most OTK wind up being UTK on me :/ I normally wear a queen size or plus size in normie hosiery. I wear sweet/classic

Wearing a Yukata to an event coming up soon (too soon to get anything mailed)

its come to my attention that I'd probably need a koshihimo sash.
I dont have one, nor do I have a sewing machine.
what else can I use to make sure my yukata stays in place?
>>
>>10229228

You just need something that's ~2m in length to tie under/around your kimono, preferably something matte so it isn't slippery.

I'd say cotton bias tape is easy enough to find in tthat length, meets most requirements. The only thing is the common width is usually smaller than a koshihimo. Alternatively, petersham might work but with its shape it doesn't really slide so well when you try to tie a knot.

I guess in a pinch you could go whatever you have on hand, eg- cotton tape, cotton book tape, even a bit of rope if you can stand it.

By the way, rakuten and a lot of kimono stores often sell yukata "dressing kits", with a bunch of extra stuff to make dressing easier. Good buy if you aren't pressed for time.
>>
>>10229228
Ribbon would work too.
Just get 1/4 yard fabric of muslin at the fabric store (jo anns) and rip it into strips. Easy and done. Since it’s on the inside, it doesn’t even show.

Are there any brands/tabao brands that do lace underskirts? Im not really a fan of the chifon layered underskirts that are popular, but i have one old baby jsk that is a bit to short on me to get away with. There is no lace on the jsk, so would love a underskirt that had some black lace trim on it

How to lolitafy gym wear? Keyword: lolitafy. I am what people would consider “fulltime” in lolita wear since I wear it almost every day, unless I do gardening and stuff like that of course but even that’s influenced by lolita heavily. For gym I really don’t know though.
>>
>>10229371
As a daily lolita who works out daily, just buy pink sparkly gym wear or whatever goes with your sub style. You need clothing you can move in to work out properly and it’s kind of retarded to incorporate items that aren’t meant for that. You can be a daily lolita and have activity appropriate clothing for things like going to the gym. Normies don’t wear their usual clothing to the gym unless they’re the absolute slobpiggu normie type that wears gym wear as regular clothing and those people are mentally retarded so I don’t count them.

Is buying this baby design replica illegal?l Is it just as bad as buying a print replica or is it fine because there’s no logos?
>>
>>10229408

this looks awful, why would you even consider this.

i know this is the dumb questions thread but goddamn this is how we get itas. i'm glad you asked instead of going ahead and buying it.

as a rule of thumb - if it looks more 'inspired' and is a common design, it's probably fine, but if it takes from a design almost exactly, it isn't exactly illegal, but it's sort of like masturbating in a plane, it's frowned upon.
>>
>>10229410

>if it takes from an iconic design almost exactly

example is up above, see also a lot of Mary Magdalene's less generic designs like Farutetto.
>>
>>10229408
Yes it’s illegal you’ll be arrested
>>
>>10229408
Yes it's still illegal. You can still get reported or have it be seized.
>>
>>10228557
no but you should lengthen the straps
>>
>>10229408
Yes it is just as bad, in both cases you are buying a stolen design and giving money to a company that makes replicas.
>>
Is there like a hidden lolita replica society that completely supports the buying of replicas? Yesterday some girl posted her AP replica for sale on FB and someone immediately bought it without question. And whenever there’s a post about replicas there’s always a select few that defends them so it made me think that there must be some replica worshippers or cult out there lmao.

Are there any cute/themed places to eat for a lolita in the Netherlands? I'm visiting Amsterdam, Utrecht and Maastricht.

Is Moitie's size 11 really big? I'm about a US size 4 and my bust is 32A. I want their Cross OP but only size 11 is available.

I know the bust is 93cm, which seems large, but the cut of the dress makes it look like the waist ties could rectify any bagginess. Help?
>>
>>10229494
32A means nothing. If your bust is a lot smaller cm wise the top will be loose. As someone with a 84 cm bust I found the 11 to be taut so I can’t see a 93 actually fitting
>>
>>10229494
The waist ties on the Cross OP are a very slick ribbon that doesn't take any strain without pulling loose so don't count on using them to tighten much. It's meant to fit slightly large though.

Your bra size or dress size tell us nothing, I could probably help you more if you gave bust and underbust measurements.

How do I dry lace topped brand OTKs after washing? Should I hang them to dry or lay them on a towel or something? Or can they be machine dried?

What is better? Wunderwelt or Closet child?
>>
>>10229408
No, it's not illegal. Clothing designs can't be copyrighted. And no, it's not bad like buying a replica print dress. No one cares about design replicas. Go for it.
>>
>>10229560
>no one cares

Posts before you did. Stop feeding bullshit to newfags. They come here for actual answers.

>>10229558
It depends. WW is usually priced higher but you’re pretty much guaranteed your items, where as with CC they aren’t as expensive but there’s a much higher chance of the item you wanted already being sold than with WW. WW is easier to use for newer people because they have people who are more fluent in English than CC and a much more accurate translate option for their website.
>>
>>10229429
I think it's pretty safe to say most of the lolita community disapproves of print replicas, but most are fine with design replicas, especially shoes or purses.

In terms of actual lolita communities, like on FB, indeed no one cares. You're leading OP to think people will judge her for a design replica when no one in the actual community will. Autistic, faceless anons not included.
>>

You mean only shoes, because those are actually hard to get in the right size for some people and you can't just get a brand pair altered like you do with clothing. Replica bags are accepted when it's something extremely generic like a basic heart shape. But I doubt your comm wouldn't care if you bought an usakumya replica.

Usakumya is a unique copyrighted character. A generic dinosaur is not.

You think people care about copyright laws? They don't, they care about you supporting replica makers instead of the brands that are the pillars of lolita fashion.

Not outside of 3rd world countries...but it's common in some of those countries, whole comms full of replica-chans. Brazil had a comm like that at one point, not sure if they still do, it was a big drama because a prominent petticoat maker is or was a big replica-chan and all her friends too. That group was outed by one of their own comm members with photos, and the resulting big fight was pretty funny.

But in first world countries no, just isolated dumb people thinking they can pull one off locally and no one will notice (we do), then some fatties and poorfags who usually don't get completely bitched out because they rarely post often in groups and no one really cares what they wear.
>>

>>10229649

>>
>>10229429
I've seen replicas go from something fairly common with a lot of defense toward them to something that isn't seen as much. Back in the day, you had your main brands, some western Indie, Bodyline, and handmade, and taobao was just starting to become a thing. So if you wanted that sought after OTT sweet pastel vomit Ala 2010 AP, you had a $100 replica or you shelled out $300+ for an item second-hand if you didn't get it on release. And items were smaller then on top of that. There was justification in the community for them at that time. Oojia was really milking it, and it was either her or DOL, which produced absolute sweat-shop quality burlap shit. Don't get me wrong, both were shit, but we're talking about a difference between shotgun squirts and a nicely formed turd.

Honestly, there were only a handful of people in my local comm that I could point out who did wear replicas at one point. I knew some people who wore lolita (replicas) only to conventions who swore by them or that's all they bought. They quit after awhile (all pretty large, mind you). There were also people who never joined any comm but I'd see them every con in the same washed out Milky Planet replica. I don't honestly see it anymore.

I think the last time I legit saw someone wearing a replica in person was probably 2 or 3 years ago. But they do crop up in photos. I imagine newbs still buy them on ebay, amazon or aliexpress unknowingly though.

Even fatties can't justify them anymore with as much custom-made and plus size ready-made indie available. There's more original prints that have that sought-after AP vibe. There's no cost difference between decent taobao and a shitty replica and you're getting something better constructed. So really, there's no excuse for them these days, just blissful ignorance or stupidity.
>>
>>10229628
No you useless rag, I'm saying you can't into social cues that would tell you how people really feel about something even if it seems as though they're noce and supportive on the surface.

Do you sew (with a machine)? It's really easy to make your own. Sew a long strip of fabric down, flip it inside out, secure the ends (by topstitching or handsewing). It's not visible, so any scraps of sufficient length will do, preferably cotton. Crossgrain ribbon also works, since it's non-slippery.

I do recommend buying one of those velcro magic belt accessories though, and using that on top of the ties. It really helps keep everything in place! And maybe an obi-ita. You don't necessarily need it but it helps keep the obi from wrinkling. I diy'ed mine from a plastic placemat.

To kind of expand on this (and I'm not anon above), every piece of clothing is a combination of design elements. You can't copyright a combination of design elements, because that would just be way too fucking chaotic to try to police, and make it virtually impossible for anyone to make clothes.

If MM has an a-line OP with a bib collar, and a taobao brand makes a very similar one, it's a design replica, but it's not illegal, since MM cannot copyright a combination of design elements (e.g. a-line dress with bib collar and long sleeves). In fact sometimes brands make very similar dresses, Victorian Maiden has at least one dress like that, as does IW. They're not the exact same, but very similar. So buying a dress like that from taobao is not a big deal. It's also why things like heart bags and tea party shoes are tolerated from off-brand stores, so as long as they don't put copyrighted logos on them.

Another example. Infanta's Snow White OP and Btssb's Claudia OP look very similar (the latter came first). But they were both inspired by the same thing, and are different enough that you could say it's not the same dress, so that's pretty much ok.

Replicating a print though, obviously breaches copyright.

Now in regards to the Baby replica above. That is a clusterfuck of a design, you'd have to really be going out of your way to imitate it. With simple dresses, it's forgiveable if it looks similar to pre-existing dresses, but with this one, the intent to copy was pretty clear. It might not be illegal, but I'd say it's about as bad as a print replica. It's of course, up to the anon to decide if they're gonna get it but...I personally wouldn't. I would also never support a print replica, but I have no issues with design replicas otherwise.
>>
>>10229228
Learn to put it on, you'll need 3 himo to do it right and hold everything together. You can use long grosgrain ribbon until you can get some proper himo but it's worth it to buy 3-6 of them specially because they are cut on the grain correctly not to get loose or slide about.

>If MM has an a-line OP with a bib collar, and a taobao brand makes a very similar one, it's a design replica
That's not a design replica. It's the reason design replicas are legal, but they didn't replicate anything so it's not a design replica.
Pic related is a design replica, they copied something on purpose for people who don't want to buy the original from Victorian Maiden.

>>10230086
The good thing with old school is that short skirt lengths can work and look cute, obviously not too short and balanced with the rest of the coord. Your main issue will be getting OPs because of shoulder width, forget about cutsews and t-shirts/parkas as well, stick with regular waist JSKs and skirts at first. Meta is your friend. I would stay away from classic brands and remember to always check measurements, especially for Baby (older skirts are criminally short and cutsews end at the waist on 5’6) and AP. Meta has a lot of weird mid-length stuff that is super cute, gothic maxi pieces also look gorgeous. Get some wristcuffs to wear with blouses or go with short sleeved ones. Avoid lengthening underskirts - maybe try peeking bloomers instead. Don’t be afraid to wear platforms. Follow some taller old schoolers on social media and see which brands/releases they own and how they style their pieces! Cryptkasper is fairly tall iirc. Pic related includes some pieces I was describing.

Could waitu piggu dresses that are victorian tier be passed as lolita or does the lolita community frown upon that? I mean lolita was literally inspired by that era?

How would somebody with no prior experience with fashion magazines get started? >>
>>10230275
Jewelry and things like collars are your best bet. The skirts are too long and none are the right shape for lolita poof. But blouses, jackets yes. If you fit, if they aren’t dry rotted. If you are talking about reproductions then yes for blouses and jackets etc if they are good quality. Most modern commercial sewing patterns are too costume-like so know that right away. There’s a decent amount of actual Victorian stuff still out there that isn’t museum quality but is still wearable. But you have to know what the pieces were called and where to look for them, how to identify them and then know how to style them.
>>
>>10230086
I'm 5'10", wear old school and have an hourglass figure as well. Skirts can be pretty short at times, but peeking bloomers are a thing, and definitely oldschool af. Jsks are the best, but I can fit my bust/shoulders into some OPs, just depends. Hips don't really matter desu, as long as you can get the article of clothing over your head/bust if you can't get it on over your hips. The silhouette of lolita covers wide hips so it's not much of an issue.
>>
>>10230278
There are quite a bit of lolita magazine scans and street snaps available on the web. Google is your friend, newfriend!
>>
What do you do if you bid on something you regret on Lacemarket? Because I was going over the measurements of something I'm highest bidder for and I realised is too large for me. Would you just bite the bullet to not be a cunt to the seller, or is there a nice way to cancel this bid?
>>
I'm interested in ordering from melikestea, as i badly need new petticoat, has anyone tried and liked them? Im thinking the rose in voile because I don't really do a lot of sweet, more classic, so I'm not as worried about getting a perfrct cupcake shape.
>>
>>10230292
Most people say to read the listing well before you hit bid or buy and will leave you bad feedback if you don’t go through with the sale. Mostly due to people flaking like this. I’d leave you negative feedback. I don’t mess with this kind of waffling about because if everyone did this and then thought the way you do, that it’s ok to just cancel after buying or bidding, it would be impossible to be an effective seller. I guess you could PM them but it’s really your own fault for bidding before you were 100%. So be prepared for at minimum, flaky feedback and honestly, a negative feedback.

I can confirm from owning one that IW's typewriter plaid dress has a 100% cotton body and is unlined. The collar and faux button placket is a poly-blend material, so if you're particular about poly being on your throat you might want to avoid it. One zips up the dress in the back. I can confirm it is comfy as hell to wear in the summer, since the cotton is thin (quick to dry on a laundry rack too). (This item is on sale and low stock on the IW website so if it's there in your color and size, get it now.)

Atelier Pierrot's Dilly Yoke OP, from the item description, look like it's a similar construction of the main body being 100% cotton with no lining, with the collar and button placket being the only part where there is poly-blend material. The details on the website say that the buttons are non-decorative; one puts on the dress by putting it over one's head, and then buttoning it up in front.

Atelier Pierrot's Elfie OP, from both the item description and confirmed with photos, is unlined. They say 100% cotton only once (and don't list "outer material", "inner material", or "other material"). Plus the photos that show some transparancy indicate there is no lining.

As the other two people have said, lurk more and use Google to see photos of real people wearing it. There are also archives of the Gothic Lolita Bible if you want to go into old school.

One thing I recommend NOT doing is using fanservice illustrations of "your favorite anime/manga characters in a lolita outfit". Oftentimes the artists or anime teams have no experience whatsoever in lolita fashion, and then end up making ita monstrosities. Here is an example of such a monstrosity. There are a small number of professional manga artists and illustrators who are familiar with the fashion and draw good lolita coords (we even have art threads for them once in a while), but it's difficult for a beginner of the fashion to tell the difference of what is and is not ita, and when the image is an illustration rather than a photo of a real person, there is an additional layer of difficulty. Start with studying real life coords first, then venture into drawing it.

I fucked up, gulls. I've been undergoing testing for what is probably cancer since May. It's been stressful to say the least, and I've let a lot of things in my life fall by the wayside since then.

I had a cardigan listed on Lacemarket in May and totally forgot about it. I haven't even checked LM since then. Well, I'm an idiot because someone purchased the listing months ago and I never even messaged them, sent out an invoice, much less sent the cardigan out to them. How can I remedy this? Just send them a message saying I'm sorry I messed up? I would be happy to just send them the cardigan for free, not even charge shipping or anything, because I feel like a huge dumbass for this. But I am not sure they would be comfortable even dealing with me as a seller seeing as I was absent for months.
>>
>>10231002
I've been a buyer when that happened to the seller, and that sounds like more than enough. Explain, but don't make yourself feel guilty for probably having cancer.

>>
>>10231167
You mean ’wont’. That is your own self-imposed limitation so you can't expect anyone not to just say ’why not wear a lolita skirt’ since the fashion is you know, lolita.
This wrinkled rag of a skirt just looks like you are shoehorning shit in because that's all I see, skirt with nothing added? Unless you have a good cord actually in mind for it, no. That's how some people successfully pull lolified things off, as one added element to an already good lolita coord. In the case of this skirt though, I think any coord made with it will always give the feeling of ’a lolita skirt would just look better’. But maybe with a full coord, it can change my mind. Try one and see how the full head to toe effect with petti is, then judge.
>>
>>10231757
What? I wear old school, I literally can’t buy lucky packs since none of the pieces will work with a single item in my wardrobe. I asked in the first place because I have it in my normie wardrobe and wondered if others thought it could be wearable. You can untwist your bloomers.

What does shirring look like when it's been stretched out by someone who didn't fit a dress? How can I tell from photos?

>>10231816
Watch out for a gaping bust. I bought a dress with full back shirring, but I had to resell it because the front of the dress was gaping horribly. I could fit another me it was so bad, and I'm not even thin.

In the pic I attached, you can tell it's stretched out because the elastic is completely inelastic. Just looks like someone wove some string in there. There's no "snap" back.
>>
>>10231757
you’re retarded if you think anyone wants to wear shit-tier printed plastic skirts with old school, good advice lmao
>>
>>10231772
NAYRT, but I think that anon was suggesting that you specifically look for lucky pack skirts secondhand rather than buying new lucky packs. I know meta has had some very plain lucky pack skirts in the past that would probably look decent together with some plain old school staples like white or ivory blouse + socks and some clunky heels. It might not be an exact fit to the rest of your wardrobe, but they're light and often cotton and do not have a built in petti.

I'm just here to point out to anyone still interested that you don't need to search so hard for an unlined thin cotton skirt. You still end up putting a petticoat underneath it anyway, and with the crinoline ones the "bars" show up as lumps under a thin skirt.

The thinner the skirt is, the more you'd need to layer another soft tulle petticoat over it so it smoothes over the lumpy bits. So having a lining is in your favour, not against your search for lightweight summer lolita.

I'd advise concentrating on finding breathable blouses, bloomers instead, the difference there is better worth your effort.

What is the purpose of listing something as an "urgent sale"? I see it all the time on Lacemarket and I don't really get how it's supposed to make a sale go faster, unless you make the price lower or say that you won't be selling it past a certain date.

I have a Korean friend who regularly perms his hair because he wants to look like Bob Dylan. Asian women are presumably also not immune to the siren song of chemical treatments.

>>
>>10233335

It's the other way around. They used to have an international webshop. Then for whatever reason they closed both that and the Japanese webshop. Reopened with the current AP jp where you have to use Tenso.

(The old international webshop isn't as cool as it sounds, about half the items on old AP jp never made it to the international shop at all, so there's a shitton of obscure not-special-prints that were very cute, and since nobody outside of Japan could buy them western lolitas were stuck searching for them secondhand. So pretty much girls lapped up the Tenso arrangement since it gives them access to the other cute things they'd otherwise never be able to buy.)

When did it become standard in lolita to 100% match your shoes to your dress? But I really want that second set of detachable bows, I don’t need pink shoes with blue bows...

How do you guys repair peeling pleather?
>>
>>10234157
Throwing it away and buying leather goods this time.
>>
>>10234157

You can buy leather repair kits off amazon or something. It comes as a bunch of gooey paste that you pat on, then use one of the texture papers once it's dry (but not set) to give it the right texture.

The problem is repairing one spot doesn't guarantee another spot won't peel. And the colour mixing is already guaranteed to be a pita to get an accurate colour, imagine if you had the pancake bag and it peeled, to repaint it you'd need to remix all the different colours and match them perfectly while also trying to paint with a spatula of goop.

It's not so hopeless that you'd throw pleather away once it peels, but it's also not so easy that you'd keep it rather than throw it once it peels either.

What's the most important part of an Aristo/Ouji's outfit. I know for lolita the skirt/dresws is the star of the show. Is it the shirt for Ouji? Is it the pants?
>>
>>10234859
There isn't a single focal point like lolita; it's more about the gestalt of the outfit, but the focal point can be pants, shirt, headwear, even socks. Usually, though, oujis in particular tend to highlight the outerwear, especially when it's something like Boz's Roland.

Nayrt but thank you!

What's a good place to get a cage skirt?
>>
>>10233532
weren’t old school an-ten-na ones with wooden soles? the ones Momoko wore. they sometimes come up second hand, but usually in smaller sizes like 23-23.5cm
>>
>>10235117
For structure or for show?
>>
>>10235129
Nyart but guessing structure, as it's summertime. I'm also looking for one

Is a movie theatre a good place to wear a first coord?
>>
>>10235160
No one can see it and the seats / area is likely disgustingly filthy unless it's an upscale theater so, yes absolutely.
>>
>>10234017
Akatako sells his work sometimes.
>>
>>10234320
Ok where do i find pink leather bags appropriate for sweet lolita? Id buy it if it existed.
>>
>>10235178
Commission them from a local leatherwork shop or through Etsy.
>>
I'm 6'0 and I want to get into jfash not necessarily lolita, I like mori, dolly, natural kei, etc, things with less of a formal/well-defined "look". Would it still work at my height? I'm assuming things like that would be better on me since they're already have longer silhouettes and tend to be less form fitting (I used to be a fatty but I'm slim now, my body is still a bit awkward looking in places because I didn't snap back perfectly after losing the weight, so a lot of form fitting shit looks weird on me)
>>
how can you tell if a seller on mercari is inactive?
>>
>>10235190
a large part of those fashions rely on thrifted or vintage clothes, so if you look hard enough in antique stores, "boho chic" western brands, estate sales, etc then you shouldn't have too much trouble finding at least some clothes that work. buying certain pieces from japanese brands (grimoire verum tights, etc) would be more difficult as they're obviously made for smaller asian people.
>>
>>10235183
Recipe for disaster.
>>10235178
Go shopping in normie high end brand stores, find a few brands you like, then shop around or pay the mark up for new.
Kate spade has good variety, most brands like Prada and Coach release pink bags seasonally.
>>
>>10235190
No, not really. Just to be honest.

Alongside the transformation you have undergone in your weight, you should also willingly perform a transformation in appearance. Try out more mature, semi-formal clothing.

You might just like it.

I pictured a 40 yo man saying this and honestly I just can't picture this conversation any other way now.
>>
>>10235230

God this is so true and also disgusting.

Can anyone ID this skirt/vest?
>>
>>10228553
Am I going crazy or what? Why is pinterest suddenly telling me that it’s against their community guidelines to search lolita? This didn’t happen 2 days ago. I now understand the newfag spergs

What should I look for in an underskirt? I want a black one for a coord but I’m not sure what’s out there.

How do I order from Triple Fortune?

If you want to sell a load of socks, is it better to sell them in a set or separately? I see both being done but idk what to go for
>>
https://item.fril.jp/20cf10b2e6e1759c261549e6cdd870bc
why is this so expensive?
>>
>>10235610
You can put them up seperately and write that you are selling more socks and can give a discount to people who buy several. If you don't feel like taking a lot of pictures you can put them up as a set.

good idea, thanks!

can anyone help me find the sauce for this pic?

What lolita brands sell military and sailor themed items?
I am trying to put together a Navy themed coord and I have so far only found things from Alice and the Pirates and Meta. Any suggestions?

As a man, I wish to order women's clothing and other potentially compromising items online throigh Amazon. Would it be obvious to the deliverymen and couriers the nature of the items they are handling, i.e. on the package or invoice, that wouls give away the fact that I am some kind of crossdressing flaming faggot?
>>
>>10236180
Honestly, I doubt they'd care anon.

Is neo gyaru still a thing or has gyaru completely dissolved into normie/ Westerville?

Has anyone seen this dress without the red top over it?
That part is removable and I want to know if it has shirring on the blue part. The stock photos only show the back with the top on.

Has anyone bought any shoes from Katie? Theres a pair im interested in and theyre M (23.5) depending on brand i tend to either fit a 23.5 or be slightly too big for them. The next size up is 24.5 which i know will probably be too big.
>>
>>10236353
Only if it's an exact replica and/or you're wearing it to lolita events. Bibbed dresses are pretty common, so as long as you don't claim it's brand, I guess it's okay.
>>
Can you use Tenso/Buyee with Rakuten Fril? You can use it for normal Rakuten, but I am having trouble figuring it out on the other one.
>>
>>10236408
>Only if it's an exact replica
If it's a replica it's replica. If it happens to be a bibbed dress that looks like MM, it's not even remotely a replica.
>>
>>10236353
Other lolitas will think you are a conlita and feel sad about the state of MM, but they won't openly attack you.
>>
new >>10236859
>>
>>10236804
No, you get an instant ban. Buyee doesn't buy from fril and you shouldn't use them anyway.
>>
>>10235162
>>10235514
>>10235521
Thanks, I decided not to, since I ended up feeling like crap. I think an art museum is probably a better choice, especially since our seats ended up being computer swivel chairs.
>>
>>10234696
Not a lolita dress.
