Old thread hit image limit >>10153495This thread is for ouji and aristocrat (aka "boystyle") discussion. "Boystyle" is shorthand for "boystyle lolita" and refers to the masculine counterparts of lolita and, often, aristocrat fashions. There is a lot of overlap between these styles, and different people use different terms to describe them. So, consider this a thread for those whose style is on the right half of Buttcape's Lolita Family Triangle: http://www.kawacura.com/moripress/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/0dmmLH6-350x350.jpg>Shopping spreadsheethttps://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1j7sg2_7CvXUeIgZGGSLvJ9lUUuSVXhW8FlWWFwiv1Yk/edit?usp=docslist_api>Buttcape-sensei's shopping guide (mentions which brands/shops have men's or custom sizes): https://drive.google.com/open?id=12fA-VA2PkRctKPlYFsT3GnIba-Ytdt-RArDfLw0Bba4>Blogs for current boystyle releases, news, and infobuttcape[.]blogspot[.]comhttps://www.stephano.me/the-new-ouji-overviewGoogle your questions before asking them here.Read the whole thread before asking questions here.OC and selfposts encouraged! >>10216394 hit the image limit also, so here is some boystyle Corset Day coord inspothe Japanese trend is not dying, and brands like AatP and Boz have already jumped in with making their own boned corsets.
>>10223318if anyone will translate this page, Mana-sama will grant you blessings
do you wanna buy an aristocrat Mana-sama from my artist alley booth
Boz's entry to the corset trend
>>10223706they also have a new blouse release for military styles
>>10223315I can't focus on anything in the coord without covering up the head because it all just derails into "What an interesting Undertale AU">>10223336Do you sell online?>>10223706If the frill is part of the corset this might be my favorite corset so far.
>>10223321It's an invitation to a corset day (8/8) nighttime event, gathering party for everyone to wear corsets in alternative fashion...and the details. In Tokyo at Design Festa Gallery but the event seems to be from 2017 They will have another next month. There is a corset lover group there who has these occasional parties and then once a year on 8/8.
>>10223706Looks like their take on Sheglit's corset with the fluffy tail. It might look better on a real human, mannequins tend to be sized small so sometimes M size clothing can look a little oversized on them.
>>10223727>>10223739Frills belongs to the trousers, corset is the same ugly zip up one they've made before:https://www.atelier-boz.co.jp/products/detail/137
>>10223889Well that makes it much more boring and definitely a weirder pair of shorts. Thanks for the corrrection.
>>10223732thank you, anon! may your blessings fron Mana-sama multiply.
Are kilts ouji?
>>10223707What? Where was this posted? I don't see it anywhere on the site or Twitter.
>>10225717I honestly don't see why notAs long as its styled in an ouji way I think they could work well (I haven't seen any to date but would love too!)
>>10225797it is from twitter, but i forgot which account

>>10223289why the fuck is this picture single-handedly so hilarious yet so inspiring to me

Is this style suitable for men? I'm kinda interested in an over-the-top "Gentleman" style outfit, but I'm not sure I can pull it off as a 185cm~ western male.
>>10227086Yes, please actually read the info and links at the top of the thread before you come back.
>>10227091I did. Half of the links are dead, half of them just link to storefronts which isn't exactly helpful and the handful that link to "guides/info" are barebones, half-incomplete guides. I know that being smug and condescending is a /cgl/ but please make some effort to put actually useful info in the OP if you'd like to point to it and say "Read it!"Thanks.
>>10227097I mean, it says "men's size". Regardless, technotropism is a male ouji/aristo who's pretty tall, from what I can tell.
>>10227086yes. people ask this every thread.however, just like every other alternative fashion, it is difficult to find things for men that are as good-quality or variable as what exists for women. you will have to put work into developing your own style.almost every single thread, i have posted links to men who wear ouji and have recommended brands in the USA such as Ikemen Mode and Elegy, who often offer custom or large sizes for ouji.i have also often asked for links to update the OP with, but there are not any. you just have to do what i have done, and rigorously follow as many ouji-related tags on as many social media sites as you can. here is Adi, also known as Grandpa Ouji in this gen. he wears Ikemen Mode and also custom items made from taking apart lolita dresses and sewing them into garments that fit him and his style. he does not sew them himself; his partner Sheri does. it is common for ouji to buy lolita brand items and remake them into waistcoats or breeches, though. because, if you are not the size of a slender Japanese person, you will have to DIY much.
>>10227398here is IG user @dandymcbull. he supplements brand items, often accessories, with nice off-brand clothes.
>>10227401IG user @nicolasdaiglere has his own lolita brand, and makes one-of-a-kind custom items for himself. as far as i know, he does not make any ouji to sell.
>>10227403@technotropism usually can fit brand blouses, vests, and jackets, but wears offbrand pants.
>>firstname.lastname@example.org makes his own clothes, and sells lolita clothes he makes. he does not sell ouji. he only makes them for himself.he made everything in this coord except the tights, which are Angelic Pretty.
>>10227403Isn't this person a biological woman?
>>10227419@dusklordconstantine only recently began tagging his photos as ouji, and it is closer often to Western gothic. but his use of makeup, hair styling, and the fit of his neo-Victorian wadrobe is inspirational.
>>10227425i do not know or care.
>>10227440i am posting men who are larger than would fit much brand, men who have found ways to work around not fitting brand, and men who make their own clothes or have their own brand. this is what would be helpful for >>10227086many men fit brand 100% perfectly and do not need special resources so i am not focusing on them right now. for example, @tamedlittleprince is shown here in an Angelic Pretty blouse, which does not even have a mens size. he is the size of many lolitas, regardless of gender. if knew of tall women in ouji who also could not fit brand, and who had a masculine style, i would be posting them, too. i went through ouji tags going back two months and did not encounter any, though.
>>10227438back to brand-unfitting menthis is @mrseakas, whose IG is mostly cosplay. the photo was posted by @happyumilife, who did not provide details about the coord, except that she spent a lot of time on it. the blouse looks as though it may be F+F or Boz, but the pants are off-brand, which is the usual strategy for those who are tall and slender.
>>10227464in a reversal of the usual, @dandyarmi wears indie brand/Fan+Friend shorts and offbrand blouses. like others, he uses brand socks, which often stretch to accommodate a variety of sizes
>>10227476@deanzentember combines Fan+Friend with vintage-like elements to help complete a unique coord. but this photo is him in Ikemen Mode, which remains the best option for ouji in larger sizes with a mens cut.
>>email@example.com often wears a combo of Ikemen Mode and @bizarre_couture, which is Western-style alternative fashion that sometimes puts out gothic aristocrat or ouji-ish items.
>>10227512so, those are some recent coords i found on Instagram during 3 hours of research for you, Anon. this is what you will also be doing as you enter ouji and seek out ways to dress your tall self. i hope this demonstration, and discussion of methods to achieve an ouji coord when brand does not fit, does something for you. >@technotropism coord to end the dump bc he is an OG ouji
>>10227401Does this actually look like ouji to you all? Don't get me wrong, I like it as an outfit and think it's cool looking, but, to me at least, it has a lot more western influence than j-fashion. Like, if I saw it in the wild, I don't think it would ever occur to me that it was supposed to be ouji.
>>10227809i would think it's a monopoly man cosplay
>>10227809in the sense that Fanny Rosie's coords seem more Western. he is wearing BPN in that photo and it is about as good as that body type can get.however, in my opinion, full beards with close-shaved hair is far from ouji. at least with technotropism, he wears his hair long and styles his facial hair. his coord in this pic would also look perfectly ouji on someone with a clean-shaven face and a decorated hat.
>>10227833unfortunately, menswear that will fit people who are larger than the average Japanese person tend to be the most Western, and men tend not to follow Japanese beauty trends even when they fit Japanese brands. @hare_joce (pic related) fits Boz very well, and he looks good. however, his overall style is Western. the recurring difficulty with finding inspo for masculine ouji is that larger sizes tend to be off-brand and not made with Japanese-style aesthetics, and that finding examples of men who follow Japanese street fashion beauty trends is difficult. even Japanese men in ouji often lack the effort put into face and hair and accessorizing. this has been an issue for this general as long as it has existed, desu.
>>10227403I get so sad thinking how they don't make ouji items, I would buy them in a heart beat since I adore their prints
>>10227879i wish so many more people would make ouji. or at least vests in a men's cut.
