Will they be any good? Find out in this episode of YanWatch.
>>
They do look better than Bodyline's previous "yukata".

I'm still surprised they're selling costumes for under $4 each but they're going fast and all the good ones are in the under 90cm bust range.

I really hope they continue to re-release old print dresses, There's so many I want that never show up on LM in my size.

I haven't touched Bodyline in a long time but noticed the OP pic and had to come check.
I have been taking interest in kimono fashion recently and was interested in something cheap and breezy to dip my toes into while not dying in the summer heat, a yukata would be a nice start.
I'm very curious about this now, I hope quality isn't total garbage.
>>
Wish they would restock some shoes but they're long gone from the website so I don't see it happening. Bodyline shoes are still the comfiest I own, too bad I was too much of a poorfag when they were available to buy 27494639 pairs in every color under the sun.
>>
>>10214436
nta, but it's a cute maid outfit, from bodyline. They specified that it was "non-lolita"
>>
>>10214502
Any pics of the gobelin pieces?
>>
Did anyone take a chance on a yukata set yet? I'm curious about them, but maybe not $80 worth of curious until I at least know that the fabric is not awful.
>>
>>10214326
>>10214351
I never liked the prints because it's so obvious right away that they are Bodyline but I really love some of the solid pieces when they are styled well. The good ones are so easy to wash and dry that I think I will pick up a few more for everyday wear.

So, the event I ordered a dress beginning of last month for is this Sunday

Been stuck at “dispatch of outward office of exchange” since 28th last month

Time to do a BIG YELL :)
>>
>>10215827
your fault for not ordering sooner. pmail usually takes a month to get to me in general.
>>
>>10214511
Idk mang, you can get sets like these on ebay for significantly less. I've seen 2pc sets for ~$80 and three pieces for under $125.

I personally went the auction route, there's a handful of sellers on ebay that sell yukata really cheaply. I got two obi, two yukata, a lot of obijime, and two magic belt accessories for undder $70 USD. You have to be patient when searching though. There's also sellers like Ichiroya.

The patterns are really cute, tho hard to tell the quality without seeing worn pics.

>>10212741
Also just read this from last thread...I ordered a bunch of nanchatte items as well as random customers bc at $5 a pop why not. Now I'm worried they'll arrive all shitty. Guess we'll see.
>>
>>10215928
I’ve been ordering from bodyline for 6 years and every day it’s arrived in the 10-14 day window so I figured 4 weeks was plenty of time :))))
Just bad luck that the one time I needed it to come quickly, it didn’t
>>
>>10215997
It's been pretty long for me this year. 3-4 weeks usually. probably a delay because of sales.
>>
My pmail tracking number has never worked at all (still says "Label Created, not yet in system") and it's been two weeks since the shipping notice email. Is that normal?

Does anyone here own it? The ends of the sleeves look a bit off.
>>
>>10218221
I do, and it's not as pictured. there is no lace on the bottom hem and the lace around the collar is much shorter and doesn't look very good imo. :/ the sleeves are fine though, there are ribbons you can pull to make them look gathered at the wrist.
>>
Do the ballerina rocking horse shoes run big? Someone offered to sell theirs, but they’re 1/2 a size larger than what I normally go for.
>>
>>10218299
>l631
this anon is right. the lace used on the hem/collar/sleeves is shorter, and there is no lace on the hem.
>>
>>10218299
I used to own this blouse and it definitely had that lace with the lace on hem, but this is from 8 years ago. It’s possible certain runs were different from others, and bodyline couldn’t source the original lace
>>
>>10218453
it's the old version that did. the new one doesn't. I had this in white that I got from many years ago and it did have lace, but recently ordered the black and it does not.
>>
>>10218447
>>10218453
>>10218455
Yeah I purchased it earlier this year right before it was low on stock. I got white and black and neither of them have lace on the hem, the lace is smaller (like in anon's pic), and for whatever reason the collars of both of mine were sewn upsidedown, so the interfacing is up and it's slickly puckered all over because of that. Oh well.

Really wish they would just add a "restock" section to their website so we didn't have to guess what had been restocked.
Can't always trust the pictures or links they include since there's been cases where other items have secretly been restocked.
I wish I could keep better track myself but it's hard to remember if a dress has previously been sold out unless I was interested in it personally.
What I know for certain was not pictured, but has been restocked:

>>
>>10222920
I have it, the clasp on the back of the collar undoes it's self constantly, might just be a me issue though. The lace on the arms is scratchy and not the best. People have removed it/ replaced it and had good results. The apron that comes with it is alright but the lace is terrible. If you wanna put in a little effort and modify it I think it's nice enough for the price.
>>
>>10222934
Yeah, I did read that about the lace. I actually just received a bunch of really nice torchon lace for other projects and plan to replace the icky lace. Thanks anon!

You'd be surprised how helpful bodyline maid outfits would be for your local con maid cafe. Imagine if these girls were all wearing a matching maid outfit around $20-25, it would improve the appearance of the cafe and would help distinguish servers from people who might be cosplaying characters with maid characteristics
>>
>>10222957
it's obviously not for lolita, but cons/cosplays/maid cafe stuff... TONS of people on cgl have bodyline maid outfits. Not sure why this is an issue. Bodyline sells more than just lolita.
>>
>>10222957
Don't hate on Bodyline's maid outfits anon, some of them are seriously nice.

>>
>>10222957
Bodyline maid uniforms and seifukus are great, best costume quality you'll get for the price point.
>>
>>10223311
Seconding this. When the pastel seifukus were $6 each I bought 4-5 of them to stockpile along with those super cheap $2 "arrives in a box and with some minor staining that washes out" ones that I've reviewed before.
>>
>>10223317
I think at this point I own probably 20+ lolita and cosplay outfits from Bodyline if anyone wants an overall pic collage to judge quality before they buy.
>>
>>10223319
I'd love to see it! I've been interested in a few of the maid costumes and can't really find reviews for them online
>>
>>10223379
Sure! I should have everything photographed by the weekend. I think I only have one maid costume though. It's mosly the school uniforms and misc lolita stuff. I bought a lot of those fukubukuro.
>>
>>10222934
I second this review. I don't touch the apron since it's very cheap looking. My one big problem is the weirdness of the collar. It feels and looks like a priest's dogcollar shirt.

Is being liberal vs. conservative that much of a big deal in murica that you can't even share a table for a few hours each month?
>>
>>10226864
I’m center left and it’s easy for me to get along with moderates and conservatives but most of America either sucks Trump’s dick or sucks tranny dicks and there is literally no middle ground.
>>
>>10226864
It's fairly serious, yeah. We more or less hate the guts of the other half of the country. It's more or less a short hand for a big group of harshly opposing characteristics about you and the people around you. That's not even getting into the literal nazis popping up. Sometimes people just can't keep their mouths shut about it for a couple hours and once someone declares something everyone is more or less cattle-prodded into being For or Against and woe betide you if you don't have the majority in your group.
It would be nice if we could all enjoy dresses together but frankly lolita just doesn't have the power to stand up to the fighting.
>>
>>10226864
Too many people assuming that if you aren't loudly ’for’ something then you are ’against’ it and if you are against it then you are against them personally too and against every other person similar so they need to strike back or more loudly ’educate’ everyone...to the point of if we weren't actually against them before, we probably are now...and so it goes. Plus if the food or weather is bad everyone is already on edge to start. I avoid summer meets except ILD or movie meets, honestly. Too much bad tempers and the overheated fatties are even more cranky.

Hi, I wanna talk about bodyline. I kinda want to get l489 in black, but the worn photos I've seen vary wildly and the stock photos are uglier than usual. Does anyone have any experience with it?
>>
>>10226864
i have no problem with talking to people that differ from me politically, but in my comm i can't make any real friends since they'd exile me for being moderately right-wing and libertarian, like they did with a couple others that weren't liberal/progressive leftists. it'd be nice to have a comm with that kind of bond added in.
>>10226870
THIS 10000%
>>10227143
i have it in blue, it's a little heavier than it looks but the materials are adequate and the shape is good.
>>
>>10227143
I have it. The lace isn't very good but it's ok on black or blue because there's less contrast. I don't like it so much on red. It's heavy, which I like, a sturdy washable cotton blend. You need good strong poof or it looks deflated. The bow is shitty. One of Bodyline’s better dresses but it's still unlined. Definitely needs ironing and a very good petti to look nice. Lots of fatties wear it, which usually looks big and sloppy because of all the skirt ruffles but I've seen it styled well too.
For bodyline piece 5/5
Price/value 5/5
Compared to brand 3/5
I'd get it on sale.
>>
>>10227143
I own the black one. Just as the other anons said, the material is quite heavy, but also very sturdy. Having xxl poof is a must to not make it look like a sad rag. I would even consider wearing it with a cage skirt to keep a nice full shape. The bow this dress comes with is nothing special.

The dress doesn't really have many details going on, but is a decent basis work with. Make sure you don't cheap out too much on everything else and you will be fine.
>>
Here's a good example of why so many people will reply ’it depends’ when asked ’Is Bodyline ok?’
I personally feel like the prints are ita but I am really a fan of several of the solids as good budget wardrobe filler IF AND ONLY IF they are coorded well.
>>
>>10227288
I think something that people don't really add is that the fabric just isn't nice. They can look good in photos when corded well, but irl the fabric is thin, wrinkly, and cheap feeling polyester for a lot fo the dresses
I'm not sure about this one in particular though
>>
>>10227324
There are a number of solid dresses that are a good midweight sturdy poly cotton blend. This is one of them. Some of the blouses feel and sound like crispy paper with ugly itchy lace though. I won't buy any prints, just those solid main pieces and shoes.
>>
>>10227288
desu I don't think the bottom left one is too bad? it's not nearly as good as the ones on top, and from what I can see the shoes are awful, but it's just a mediocre coord
>>
>>10227576
Yeah but mediocre + known cheap Bodyline dress is not so good a combination. I think you need to really do better coords than bottom 2 in order to fully escape the ‘Bodyline Is cheap crap’ stigma. Those are the ones that get better likes and comments anyway.

I don't think it'll look too bad, the image looks fine on the other colors, I'm assuming the pics just aren't good so the black and pastels have high contrast in pics. Either way, here are a couple of them in people's pics

I’ve got the bunny one and I like it a lot despite its flaws. I removed the lace on the sleeves because it was sewn on really weird and looked awful.

It’s kind of an unfuzzy sweatshirt material, it’s pretty comfy. Bodyline seriously needs to iron their shit before taking photos.

Does anyone have L310 in wine or navy?

Does anyone ever feel... weird about wearing bodyline? I usually wear my brand, though sometimes I fall in love with some pieces from bodyline, pick them up when they are cheap and on sale, love them on other people, but feel almost.. ashamed wearing them myself. :/
>>
>>10229680
lol no
you’re overthinking it
>>
>>10229680
It's easy to feel that way due to the negative perception Bodyline sometimes has, moreso in the past when it was more of a costume shop than anything else.
The thing to remember is that just because something is inexpensive, or not as luxurious, it doesn't automatically make it bad. For me, I see it as "taking the stress off" of my brand pieces. Imagine wearing a simple sundress for a casual day out vs. an expensive and extravagant outfit for an event or evening out.
I enjoy having Bodyline pieces in my wardrobe because I means I can still wear lolita in places I wouldn't dare take my brand. So I can go for a walk in nature and lay down in the grass, I can eat food that might be staining, I can play with my pets or go to a cat cafe.
>>
>>10229690
Thank you anon. I think the reason I feel a bit ashamed of it is because I'm so used to wearing my higher quality pieces, and I am also a daily lolita, and I have had brand ripped and damaged occasionally. But for some reason I feel weird about some of the details of bodyline pieces. The laces aren't always great but the construction of the dress is usually better than normie clothes. It still makes me feel kinda bad, and I don't really understand why. But I like the way you think about it! Thank you~
>>
>>10229690
This is my view on Bodyline exactly, it's like the jeans and t-shirt of the lolita world.
>>
>>10229700
You might feel out of place in Bodyline, but to most normies, you're still going to look fancy and beautiful.

Of course Bodyline is not up to par on the little details, they needed to cut on costs somehow, but why worry about getting your nicer dresses dirty when a bodyline dress will do, that you can toss in the washing machine after and not worry about it?

I'm not a daily lolita, but I do try to wear it lots outside of meets. I don't have a very big closet or own a lot of brand, so bodyline lets me enjoy lolita without ruining my more prized pieces. Of course, I have a couple brand pieces I've worn down to hell and back because I just love them so much, but it's nice to have the flexibility.

You'll find a handful of anons that harp on bodyline like it was the devil, but I'm pretty sure they're a vocal minority, otherwise we wouldn't be able to carry on in peace in these threads without getting trolled. The majority of people don't care if you wear bodyline, and sometimes, when I get asked what dress I'm wearing, people are surprised when I answer that it's from there because they weren't expecting it to look that nice. If you really squint you'll notice crappier details but it kinda gets lost in the big picture if your coord is nice.

An e-mail was sent out today about a "Summer Anime Costume Fair." It's not entirely clear what that means, it doesn't have a banner on the website and the Instagram post doesn't say much more.
However the e-mail did have this interesting tidbit.
>>
>>10229680
I felt weird for a while, a friend who is a self admitted brandwhore (not entirely serious) started harping on about how Bodyline was a waste of money etc and I really started to believe that for a while.

Bodyline was my stepping stone into lolita. It's weirdly sentimental for me, and I honestly regret selling a lot of perfectly fine and cute pieces just because I listened to someone talk bad about it. There were some pieces from them that I used to love but people decided they were ita magnets or would arbitrarily decide they were bad so I ended up selling them.

I've been picking up a few casual pieces from them now and wearing Lolita daily is so much less of a chore and fret. In reality, the quality overall is pretty okay and definitely good for the price if you buy in sale. My wardrobe is 99% brand but it's so nice to have something that I can definitely throw into the washing machine and that won't snag if I look at it the wrong way (hi AP).
>>
>>10230605
Thanks for this! I think it might be my issue as well. I don't really care what other people say, but I guess hearing people talk shit about BL has made me.. kinda feel that way about it myself. Which isn't true, like I said, a lot of times I really like seeing it on other people and find it really cute until I try to wear it myself, then seeing the lesser quality (on myself) makes me feel... bad, I guess. Like I have so much better... But it's still cute! I'm so conflicted. I think I will do my best to wear it out and stop thinking of it in such a bad way!

>>10229789
>>10229767
Thank you both! This helps a lot.

I'm actually glad that some more people felt the same way about it!

Bodyline keeps saying they're restocking things due to "popular demand," so maybe it doesn't hurt to let them know what you want?

Not that anon, but I contacted them on Instagram in Japanese about whether a certain dress would be restocked (they had done a restock, but only 2 of the 4 colorways) and they haven't gotten back to me. I figured that would be the best place to try since they're most active there and on Twitter.

>>
>>10232665
They're not super strict with the item limit, thankfully. I've managed to put a JSK and two panniers together and still be eligible.
I believe you can put the items in your cart, go to the check-out page, and if P-Mail comes up as $0, you're good to go.
(Just make sure not to proceed past the page that shows you the price estimate, I made that mistake and even though I canceled out of the Paypal screen, it still showed up in my order history as "incomplete." Thankfully Bodyline just deleted it without issue once I emailed them.)

I just got 3 dresses in the mail in one package, so just put stuff in and see what happens. if it's too heavy and it charges you, then split it up!
>>

I've been tinkering around with it. I put three blouses in the cart (L364 in three colours) and it didn't say there was a Pmail charge. I added a dress just to see what would happen, and there's still no charge.

I haven't checked out with anything, but would they amend my order after payment if it was too heavy or is the checkout price final?

I'm sorry for all the questions, it's been a long time since I ordered from BL and I'd be salty if I paid shipping when I could've avoided it! Thanks to everyone for the help so far.

I have pic related from them (PAN015, they no longer sell it, but one of the new pairs looks similar.)
It's lasted me almost a decade at this point, and it's still my only pair of bloomers that I wear every time I wear lolita.
They're a study, heavy material, including the lace. I can toss them in the washer and then just hang to dry without issue.
Instead of having elastic, you actually tighten them using the ribbon at the cuff of the leg. So if you find yourself irritated by elastic around your legs, it's a really nice feature.

How are bodylines wigs quality-wise? I know about the tricks to make awful wigs look ok-ish (thank you baby powder lol) but are they needed here?

I have a couple and they're not too bad, especially if you get them for $6 or under in the sale.
Depending on the style they may be a bit shiny but they're not thin and I've not had any issues with showing wefts or anything. I would suggest you wash them when you get them though depending on the style. My straighter wigs look nice out of the box but some of the curly ones I've gotten could use a soak.

How are pan060 and pan078 quality-wise? I heard that bodyline pettis aren't that poofy and therefore better suitable for casual, but I also want to layer a hoop skirt under one for extra poof.
>>
>>10235185
pan078 is ideal for everyday lolita, it's a bit poofier than the casual classical puppet petticoats used to be. It is a tad too big for salopettes/"mini" lolita skirts, but if you want OTT poof it would be best to layer with another petti or as you said a hoop skirt
>>
>>10235175

>>
>>10235584
Yeah it's a bit annoying. I got really excited when I saw it'd been restocked, but I generally only buy Bodyline when it's at Bodyline prices. If I'm going over 40 bucks I might as well keep going and get indie brand or second hand brand.
>>
>>10235587
Rather unlikely but maybe we will get a september sale for nostalgias sake
>>
>>10235584
It seems like with each big restock comes a large price-hike. It's happened with previous restocks of other items as well.
At the same time they are claiming that there's a pricing error for some items, and the JSKs are still listed as being in the sale section.

It may not be your particular cup of tea, but for a bodyline coord, it's nice. I don't see it as being "old school" just a black and white gothy coord. Black and white does not mean old school.

It looks soft and comfy.
>>
>>10249598

havent worn it out yet but imo its great and i love it
>>
>>10249598
Have you checked out L348? I got it recently and it’s for sure a good, cheap black dress
>>
>>10249598
>L489

Does anyone have decent coord examples of this dress that are not from the bodylineneedsbetterpics tumblr or any of the recent cof posts?
I also own this dress in black, but feel a bit lost with coording ideas. Anything I can come up with feels so plain and lacking.
>>
>>10249800
I don't have pictures, but maybe take inspo from sweet coords with a black main piece from other brands as well? I find a solid black dress is great - it's fun to coord with pink, red, lavender, any colour really.

>>

boo this sale is lame! last year everything was on sale and this year is just like.. select items...
>>
I chose P-mail for my shipment method for my order (1 pair of shoes, 1 jsk and 2 socks). I recieved a shipment confirmation on sept. 1st, but the tracking number I recieved still doesnt work, neither on the website they said in the email or on 17track. Should I be worried? It’s the type of tracking that is like RR38xxxxx63JP.
>>
>>10250791
It's all good. Depending when they decide to send out the packages, it can take up to a week until they leave the warehouse. Wait until next monday.
>>
>>10250446
Eh, they unironically look around Swankiss' usual quality (very cheap, despite the price tag) The nun, leopard, dog and bunny look like something they'd make
>>
>>10250431
If they look like this on ultra cute, super thin Japanese models they're def gonna look horrific on me
>>
>>10250791
>>10250806
yea for me it was a few days before the tracking number actually worked, itll be fine
>>
is this normal?

Do anybody wear shoes283? Are they fit well or oversized or too tight? My foot size is 24,5 in cm and Bodyline have shoes283 only in 24 and 25, which one would be better?
>>
>>10252230
I wear 245 normally for comfort, but all of my Bodyline shoes are 240. I have these and they fit pretty well. The open space on the side of the shoe helps with that, I think. I find them to be comfortable. I've also broken them in a good deal and they are old as hell. I believe I wore someone else's in 250 (maybe 255?) once and I found them to be a bit too big.
>>
>>10252230
I saw the yellow and got so excited, but it's not one of the options. XD

Oh well, maybe I'll get these in sax. They look quite nice and a bit of a different shade than my current sax pair.
>>
>>10236340
It's looks good.
>>
>>10252272
There really aren't enough yellow shoes used in coords. It's a shame because it's such a cute and happy color!

I'd rather suck Trump's dick than tranny dick desu. Troons are autistic, violent, and have terrible hygiene.

But seriously I was a liberal until people started telling me I was a transphobic for not considering transbian dick, and a nazi pedo racist fascist for not taking every desperate former incel tranny dick.

Now I'm blackpilled and honkpilled, it's comfy.
>>
>>10252343
So you're still a liberal.
Fitting since you've got the snowflake mentality
>>
>>10252343
so you stopped being a liberal because some randoms on the internet called you transphobic and a nazi, so now youre an incel? im guessing because some other randoms on the internet said something you like??
nice political philosophy retard

I bought the costume 577 skirt but the bottom pleats are sewn together. This makes the skirt into a straight tube as wide as my waist so I can’t pull it up all the way. Am i supposed to dethread the bottom?
>>
>>10254799
Yes,

On a different note, I bought some of the new stuff in the sale (not sure if it was one sale, but that was my timing, lol). The sailor collar cutsew dress is a shirt if you're taller than 162cm (but a very cute and sturdy shirt, not really complaining) and like most cutsew things, fits bigger than the listed measurements. The cutsew with lace at the neckline is surprisingly nice for the price, also fits larger than listed.

Also, the new versions of shoes with S-2L sizing are smaller than advertised. I'm usually a 25, bought a L which was apparently a 25 and can barely squeeze my foot in.
>>
>>10254809
A Japanese L is closer to 24.5. M is about 23-23.5 and L is 24-24.5.
>>
>>10252343
Remember that this is how young adult americans form their political ideologies. people are reactionary and don't think about politics beyond social issues. How disappointing.
>>
>>10254831
Sure, but they had it listed as L = 25 so worth noting.
>>
>>10254799
You need to cut the seam open. They sew it so that the pleats survive the transport.
>>
I tried on the l015 blouse and noticed the collar is slightly pointing upwards near the neck. Is this intended?
>>
>>10255014
>l015
in the back, or? mine kinda pokes up in the back where the collar folds over but that's just a collar for you..
>>
>>10252230
Am I crazy? The colors for red-red and red-owh, and sax-sax and sax-owh, seem really different to me. Also the black
>>
>>10216001
Same happened to me?
>>
>>10256788
Well, good news is mine got here eventually. It updated after a month finally.
>>
>>10235956
I got pan 078 for $5 it’s on sale right now, even though it’s blue it’s really worth it.
