Has anyone noticed the increasingly classic sales on LM and people overpricing their very very old sweet dresses in contrast to even a year ago.

I used to see things like Lyrical Bunny and Happy garden for around $100 but now dresses of that era are going back up to $200-300 despite being very worn and washed out and having at least 3 owners by now.

And don't even get me on the disappearance of cheap old school...

What other trends have you noticed?
>>
>>10205280
I wouldn’t say everyone’s overpricing their sweet stuff, it’s just what is priced well goes fast and the rest sits making it look like a stagnated overpriced market. Which has always happened.

Why are JetJ designs always one tiny design flaw away from not being a tacky mess? This is their most palatable design yet IMO but the weird light color at the bottom and awkwardly resting blue shoulder ruffle make it just ugly enough to identify it as JetJ.
>$482 USD
Fuck's sake I could get two not-hideous BtSSB/AatP/AP dresses brand new at the local shop for that price. What are they smoking?
>>
>>10205248
>>10205337
Aren't JetJ dresses still made in Japan though? What other brand that does prints still has their clothing made in Japan?
>>
>>10205079
I think the problem with Jet J releases like this is that its not hard to get something similar enough to this aesthetic with many other less expensive classic dresses. As much as some people dislike their more distinctive clip-art filled designs, i think they sell better and to a wider range of people. Offering to add up to 3cm to bust and waist as an upcharge may help them though, as well as now offering 3 sizes. Even with the size additions though, it will be too small for most of the people who rely on abusing stretchable shirring and moving shoulder straps.
>>
>>10205287
Maury but there’s still way less coming into the market. But maybe that’s because the demographics have changed? Most of the sweets I know have been around since 2010 and would never sell their collections now though they used to sell stuff off (to buy more) all the time when they were younger and poorer. And all the newlitas I meet seem really into classic taobao stuff.
>>
>>10205370
*nayrt not Maury dammit
>>
>>10205280
>the disappearance of cheap old school...
Can't speak for everybody else but I stopped listing cheap old school on LM because nobody was buying it and I'd rather just give things to friends than sell old school AP for less than $20.
>>
>>10205374
Me too. I don't list anything any more, there's no point. It's actually really getting me down, my closet has overflowed into my guest room but I can't get rid of anything.
>>
>>10205374
>>10205376
Is there anywhere people can list wtb for things? Also have you considered selling things in lots?
>>
>>10205341
It may sound unfair but to be honest I don't care where it was manufactured. JetJ is printed on hideous fabric half the time anyway, which often adds to the tacky/ita factor. I wanted their unicorn dress until I saw it in person and noticed it looked like it was printed on $3.99 costume satin.

>>10205280
>>10205374
>>10205376
If I had more money I'd be snapping up all your old school stuff. Having a hard enough time hawking basic blouses and less popular sweet prints as it is. I find myself preferring old-school styles more and more but my income hasn't kept up with my change in tastes. Do either of you have old BST posts or anything so I could look at your selections?
>>
>>10205377
I'm not rich enough for that, but I'll consider. And do people actually buy lots?
>>
>>10205376
Lower the price
>>
>>10205381
I love buying lots, it feels like I'm inheriting someone's style.
>>
>>10205382
When a solid AP dress that's clean, only been worn a handful of times, and well photographed on a mannequin won't sell for $50, I don't think the price is the problem.
>>
>>10205381
I love reasonable lots, for example what WW does on LM. Medium sized lots worth $50-$100 and in the same theme or color family would sell the best.
$300 lots are just too much, and shitty lots with one skirt and 10 tiny cheap jewelry items are awful.
>>
>>10205385
>solid print
>50+shipping
bruh lmao
>>
>>10205385
>mannequin shot
There's your problem.
Flat and stock pictures sell better than worn/mannequin/bad lighting pictures.
It's psychological but don't ask me why.
>>
>>10205381
I loooooove lots. My favorite items from them always end up being something that I would never have bought on its own but ends up really surprising me
>>
>>10205380
You may not care, but the fact that it's made in Japan does affect the price. You can complain all you want, but Japanese people want polyester so most brands are obliging.
>>
where can i get some nice button extenders for JSK straps? or any tutorials on how to make them?
>>
>>10205341
I bought a print dress from baby a few months ago and it was made in japan. The outer layer was cotton, too.
>>
>>10205399
Definitely true in my experience. Thought I was helping my sale by dressing up a mannequin but the flat lay stuff with stock photo always sold first
>>
>>10205376
Oh my god post stuff!! If it's cheap enough I've been looking to get more old school. Especially blouses.
>>
>>10205407
Truthfully? Unless your hair or a bolero/something over them covers it up, all button extenders look like shit.
>>
>>10205389
>WW
>reasonable lots
Cheap. You mean cheap, anon. 90% of the "damages" they list disappear with one proper wash. They are severly overestimating the damage and underprice their lots and probably already noticed it, since they are selling less. Either this or because half of their stuff gets resold by scalpers anyway.
>>
>>10205374
>>10205376
Make flat lay colleges of all your stuff and post those on the B/S/T thread here with a throwaway email and take offers, offer a slight discount for purchasing 2 or more items together, combine shipping.
>>
>>10205417
WW sells things for what the market will bear, anon. Seems its you who are over-valuing your things if they don't sell? Or maybe your items aren't sought after things as much. People are telling you that their items are selling. Listen to them, take their advice if you want to sell. Lolita is not scarce and so expensive anymore with so much cheap Taobao around.
>>
>>10205417
I’ve gotten a lot from them that was like that, it all washed up real nice, but I’ve also gotten a lot that was top to bottom shit with real damages like shrinkage, blood stains, and peeling pleather. It’s a crap shoot.
>>
>>10205429
Lots ARE a crapshoot, mostly. 1 good piece as bait, 1-2 meh pieces, then several shit pieces at more than you'd pay for the good piece alone if you had some patience . People are greedy, and most of them overestimate individual resale or trade non-value when they say ’I’ll get my piece and just sell the rest’.

Other people have no standards, too many will wear that stained, shrunk, faded peeling shit because it's precious burando.
And they look so awful.
>>
>>10205391
NYART but people like you are the problem
>>
>>10205341
Baby the stars shine bright, Alice and the Pirates, Emily Temple cute, Princess Doll, Maxicimam.. I'm sure there are more, that I didn't buy from recently. I think most Japanese lolita brands besides AP are made in Japan.
>>
>>10205437
Ugh I brought a bunch of stuff like that from a lot to my comm’s swap meet to give away for free and watched all the fat itas snatch that shit up. So desperate to rep nasty burando bags and shoes because they can’t fit in the dresses
>>
>>10205413
damn, i figured as much. my hair would probably cover it up, but i don't want to waste money on something that wouldn't look good. should i just try tying the straps halter style?
>>
>>10205460
For me, that works better on some. On others, I wear them only in winter complete with bad strap extender and cover it nicely with a velvet bolero, shawl, longer wig (too hot in summer), or military style jacket. This winter I'm looking for a Roland jacket and a slightly longer pretty capelet that I’ll also wear over them.

For the future, read jsk length measurements carefully and analyze the styles that need extenders for you. Then plan to halter or wear things over. Good luck!
>>
>>10205460
You could always use pocket fabric to actually lengthen the straps. Would look much nicer and it could be undone later (apart from losing the pocket). Might even raise the value, depending on the dress. It’s a common problem in the western community.
>>
>>10205465
This is a good idea. Maybe so would shortening the waist ties a bit to use that fabric. It would not affect the ability to still tie a nice bow. Or using the back of the waist tie fabric, some brands only use the print on the side of the waist tie that shows anyway.
>>
>>10205455
Baby/AatP seems inconsistent. It seems like it's only made in Japan if it's a Japanese fabric. All of their non-prints I own are made in China.
AP also has dresses made in Japan, but usually its non-print and sometimes the flocked dresses. Plus a lot of their blouses are made in Japan, where as Baby sticks with China.

>>
>>10205444
Anon was complaining about her listings not selling, I gave the solution.
It’s not like dress value is determined by weight. It’s entirely up to what others are willing to pay.
>>
>>10205422
I'm not op, I'm not selling anything.

>>10205429
That's true, the pleather items can be really bad to the point it's flaking on the rest of the lot.

>>10205437
That highly depends on how many items the lot has you want or need. It's not like they're hiding what it contains (thank god, second hand lucky bags are cancer).
>>
>>10205407
I wear classic so the straps on my dresses are mostly non-printed fabric and it makes it easy to add button extenders. Get a matching fabric, sew a rectangle with two pieces of fabric, right sides together, sew the two long sides and one short side, flip inside out, sew open side down to your strap, remove the old button from strap, sew onto finished side of your button extender, done. Just make sure to get your measurements perfect before you start because too long and it'll slip off your shoulders. Of course it won't be a perfect solution but it's not very noticeable.

>Academical

Yeah you'd be ok with this quality.

In all honesty most blogs have eh writing though so I just try to look at the combination of pictures and words to see if I get something from it. It's not academic writing for sure, but we can do better I think when you compare to what people on the internet can produce. But, by the same coin, it is just a person on the internet writing for free. So at least she had fun, I guess. And that's what matters.
>>
>>10206120
Hmmm you probably can only write in English, I see.

But yeah, aside your rudeness, I agree. It's something done for free in a sea of people complaning that there aren't enough blogs or new content on the fashion. No need for anyone to get salty over it.
>>
>>10206120
Nayrt but Academical is also used in English, illiterate anon.
>>
>>10205406
>implying I'm complaining about the price
Uh what? I'm just saying that the price is already hilarious, let alone for dresses so tacky and awkwardly designed. Quality isn't just fabric and stitching; it's in the design, too, and JetJ just always has swing-and-a-miss designs. Anyone paying that much would have to be a hardcore JetJ fan, and I can't understand why they would exist when all their dresses look like MMM had a one-night stand with Goodwill.
>>
>>10206146
Um, what? Googling it says it’s rarely used and refers to “belonging to Plato’s school of philosophy”. It’s not a word that English speakers normally use. The word is “academic”.

It's a personal blog. She's writing using a very informal narrative style, like writing in a diary. There are enough photos and she also made a video. My small con-crit for her is that there's no navigation on the blog, at least not on mobile.

But tell me, what did either of you write or film for the community lately except these complaints?
If you are really such great writers, and travel to events yourselves, please DO write a blog and film things for us all or at least stop discouraging those that actually do.
>>
>>10206234
>what did either of you write or film for the community lately except these complaints

Anon, people write pages and pages of things for work and/or school reports. Writing well is a skill that a lot of people learn in their lifetimes. You sound like a sassy teenager that just learned how to use the word “academical”. Deflecting critique by saying “WELL WHY DONT U DO IT THEN” is the oldest and weakest strategy in the book.

Was the critique useful? Meaningful? Helpful? That was not critique. It was uncalled for bitching about someone else’s personal writing. That's out of line and uncalled for. She did not put her personal writing in a blog post up for literary or technical purposes so she really did not deserve unsolicited writing or writing style critique.

I think if you put something up publicly for better or for worse you should be expecting this sort of response. You're probably not her but as someone who used to write a lot, I learned to have thicker skin and just turn off comments that are not helpful.

That being said while I think blogs are a bit of a dying breed and that's sad, wanting us to support every snippet that we don't necessarily like is also not very helpful.

Unfortunately there really isn't any way to prevent it, you're best bet is just to wash whites ASAP. The grossness is partly skin oils, so unless you manage to figure out how not to produce oil that staining is just part of life.

I second other anon's Oxyclean suggestion, between that and a mild detergent I've gotten all the everyday stains I've run into out. I don't really spot clean though, I just dump things in cold water after testing colorfastness.

Being British doesn’t mean you are required to type like a retard anon. Ask the proper thread or gtfo
>>
>>10206407
The general is a place to discuss people's favorite jewelry brands. Asking people what they like isn't a "stupid question", it's a discussion starter.
>>
>>10206408
If it were a legitimate discussion starter it wouldn’t be met with this reaction. You can find out the answer by lurking, and since you don’t want to lurk you should ask the thread for people asking stupid questions(read: ones that can be easily answered by lurking or putting in minimal effort to find)
>>
>>10206408
You’re asking where to buy jewelry, sounds like a fit for the stupid questions thread to me.
>>
>>10206408
the general is a place to discuss new releases/current topics like translation anon’s work, not for people to spoonfeed you questions that have been asked a million times
>>
>>10206409
People's individual taste preferences for jewelry vary widely, and there is no easy answer. That's why I moved it here: to flesh out a discussion on jewelry and what even qualifies as "high quality" when it comes to lolita jewelry.
>>
>>10206342
Metal brand pieces from sweet brands. Jane Marple, Sheglit, ETC, MILK, Gouk, Mint Neko, Franche Lippee, Michael Negrin, Ingeborg, Leur Getter, Anna Sui, Betsey Johnson. It takes hunting to find specific things I like.
>>
>>10206421
I feel like I've seen a lot of people get shat on for wearing Betsey Johnson as "too normie". I think it must have to do with some of the brighter colors being a bit garish.
>>
>>10206342
Look on Etsy. LolitaPop and SweetJuju are my favorites but there are a ton of indie places that make all kind of cute jewelry and accessories.
>>
>>10206431
anon those are shit tier. "look on etsy" is some of the worst advice for good looking sweet accessories that don't have plastic flowers or lumpy deco. do you really wear that or are you just trying to trick the newfag into buying it?
>>
>>10206427
Not every piece. Use your judgement. I have key earnings, tiny bow earnings and a gold rose ring. Nothing loud or bright.
>>
>>10206255
This. I can't believe some people are still trying to convince themselves brands are doing what the Japanese want rather than the Chinese, who make up the vast majority of their buying market these days. Deal with it ya racists.

Look at the tiny god damn teacups. I don't know how you can be this mad about Etsy when I haven't seen AP or BTSSB put out anything this unique and detailed. Most of their stuff is resin glitter puke to begin with, this fashion is lucky it has so many indie brands interested in making more than boring plastic bangles and metallic key necklaces.
>>
Is there a shorter way to write Leur Getter when searching jpn auctions, like how Emily Temple cute is エミリーキュート?
>>

>>
>>10206476
Everyone guts Etsy sellers because they pretend that if you can buy any of the components easily, jewellery just magically designs and assembles itself and Etsy makers are terrible scalpers who just fleece people.

Example:
”I could buy those doll tea sets from China for a dollar and just make that bracelet in 3 minutes!”
>>
>>10206488
People gut etsy sellers because most of the stuff like >>10206476 and >>10206473 look like shit, and are at best cheap knockoffs of brand jewelry.
>>
>>10206503
This. Seems like everyone's starting their own tacky overpriced jewelry brand nowadays too.

People really liked things like >>10206525 and
>>10206529 back in the day. Many of the ’shitty’ Etsy sellers are doing the same and now it's ’tacky’. I still like some of the handmade things if they look to me like someone took time and care to make it. That matters to me too, and it's ok if it's not quite as good as brand. It can’t be terribad and fall apart, no. But it can be a bit imperfect.

What the fuck is that
>>
>>10206520
You say this.

But people throw money at stuff like >>10206476 or >>10206473, especially at conventions. It's cheap to produce. >>10206473 I can name where the beads and the macarons are sourced from. This cost probably about $3 to make at most, she's making a $20+ profit. Sales might be slow online, but at conventions, people buy that shit up.

People start these little jewelry shops because a) not as competitive in the convention circuit as say, prints. b) High markup for profit, low cost to restock c) Why purchase one new item a month working your regular job when making things like this can increase your income and further fund your wardrobe.

Not to mention, there are countless people in Japan as well as in China that are making things. Taobao is full of this stuff, I often see similar items turning up from small Japanese-only indie brands.

If you can make it and it sells, or becomes popular (like say BB & B) why not make it?

If you don't like what people are offering, make what you want to see. How do you think the big brands as well as the indie brands out there began? They didn't start because a bunch of people bitched online about how tacky everything was and how everyone is starting up their tacky brands. They just made what they thought was less tacky.

>thinking Japanese don’t think it’s super embarrassing for grown-ups to wear school uniforms
Sorry, they do think this. Aside from maybe cosplay, since it’s a character, but how they view cosplayers is a whole different story. Like, heck, they even judge women still dressing in cute styles after a certain age/marriage.
Also, please don’t confuse normal outfits using a pleated skirt with a seifuku.
>>
>>10207177
They're probably talking about japanese people who are into j-fashion, not normies. Tons of japanese girls on insta wear seifukus/seifuku inspired clothes.
>>
>>10207181
It's fashionable among a small subset of younger girls, high school age and younger. Not adults. Read about mainstream things in mainstream media, step outside of your weeb or j-fashion circles for some more balanced perspective on the views of average adult Japanese people. The large majority aren't at all into cosplay or alternative fashion.

>>
>>10207212

Yeah but lolita is also fucking silly and immature to most Japanese normies and here we are. Do you really care at that point what some Japanese aunty thinks of your randoseru?
>>
secrets
>>
>>10206901
It's subjective. To some, you'd have to work hard to overcome it looking ageplay, especially if you are over 16 (and you technically are since you are here) and if you pair it with anything remotely like a school uniform of any kind. #nofunallowed.jpg but unfortunately, a realistic view.

And then there are others who like them, they are going to be fashion blind and say they are A-OK. It depends how it looks, what the vibe of the coord is each time, how you look overall. Cute, young and fresh or...P!x!ter! ? I see a hell of a lot more of the later who unfortunately think they look like the former. #IdowhatIwant.jpg

The truth is, a very narrow selection of people can pull it off the way we’d all like for it to look, and a lot of others who do it anyway but look pretty gross with them.
>>
>>10206901
It's a bag. If you're that insecure, just don't include it in your coord pics. Most lolitas I know carry around a bag for their actual stuff and then leave it out of pictures or take pics with a small, impractical purse.
>>
>>10207326
No but I care what I look like walking down the street. I have an image that I dress to project. I wear lolita, and it doesn't feel silly or immature to me. Using a randoseru with my coords would feel a lot like carrying a MLPFiM lunchbox. Could I? Of course. Will it project anything positive, anything cute, endearing or lovely as a grown woman doing that? Nope.
>>
>>10207363
I don't know about you, but I know approximately 0 normies who even know what a randoseru is, much less associate it with children. As long as it's not neon pink with Hello Kitty plastered all over, it just looks like a leather backpack, and it matches coords better than Kanken or Jansport.

Agree. To people outside of Japan they just look like high-quality leather bags, which is what they are. A ton of adults in America wear backpacks. I know they don’t in Japan (or at least I didn’t see very many when I lived there), but they do here so I think it’s fine.
>>
>>10207584
Plenty of Japanese people wear backpacks lol wth. They just don’t wear ones made for children, the same way adults in the west dont.

The other thing about randoseru is that theyre usually upwards of $400. The quality is usually worth it but there are also many cheaper bags better suited to lolita
>>
>>10207033
>low waisted flat skirts and fishtail skirts
I'm all for this.
>>
>>10206901
>>10207363
99.9% of Americans that see your backpack won't know it's meant for children (unless you brought a child size which will look stupid so make sure the one you get is meant for adults), Japanese people are gonna see you as a foreigner and stare at you regardless of your randoseru especially if you're gonna be dressing alternatively.

They're a cute shape, made to last, and come in fun colors. I don't see the issue here.
>>
>>10207033

>>10206901

>I have an image that I dress to project. I wear lolita, and it doesn't feel silly or immature to me.
>>
>>10207704
>They’re very clunky and surprisingly heavy.
This. They don't make good backpacks at all. They are designed for children who are rough on their things to last through elementary school. It won't fit things an adult would be using and it'd be really annoying to actually open and use.
>>
>>10207748
Suspicious of what, exactly?
>>
>>10206901
>>10207620
People CAN like what they want. People need to stop saying this in an attempt to close down actual discussion, it’s mis-used a lot, just because someone disagrees. Anon literally asked what the general opinion is. Maybe stop preaching that people need to agree on everything or they ’aren't letting people like things’ and respect that opinions in a discussion are going to vary?

Allegedly everyone here is an adult, ideally equipped with a full set of decision making skills. It is actually a Good Thing to hear a variety of opinions on a topic.
Do I care if the anon asking gets a randoseru? No. I don’t mind. It’s their money, their style. Do I think they will get some shit for wearing a Japanese schoolchild’s backpack with Lolita? Absolutely, I’ll be very surprised if they don't. Do most lolitas I see look like they can incorporate one into their coords and do it well? Not really, most backpacks already look too casual for anything but the most casual coords already unless it’s something like >>10206938
Do those of us who do know what they are associate them with kids? Mostly yes. Are there a metric ton of different bags and satchels that serve the same purpose, being a useful bag that fits lots of things? Many of which would look even better with lolita? Also yes.
>>
>>10207734
Wrong, it’s not a rejection of adulthood, it’s a style that a very small number of Japanese women use as a personal statement of rebellion against a specific set of cultural norms that they reject. A protest that their lives _as women_ are expected to be restricted to certain paths and behaviors. They aren’t rejecting adulthood, they are rejecting restrictive pressure of women to only be certain things within their adulthood.

In the West it’s mostly immature middle class women bitching at each other online and occasionally playing dress up.
I’m a realist.
>>
>>10207771
At no point did the message say that they're rejecting adulthood. Learn how to read.

>>10207752
Then why are they expecting everyone to share the same "image" they want to project? Tons of people into kawaii culture and j-fashion actually like MLP for example.
>>
>>10207773
>Then why are they expecting everyone to share the same "image" they want to project?
They aren't, at least not in what they posted. Maybe apply the reading thing to yourself. They are speaking entirely on their own view and how they would feel.
>>
>>10205079
Who's that girl?
>>
>>10207773
The person asking about randoseru said coord. That word usually means lolita, not Kawaii culture or j-Fashion in general, some of which would look good with a randoseru and mlp accessories. Lolita generally would not. Good randoseru are an investment so most people don’t buy one as a fashion accessory to just wear once in a while, it’s a daily use item. Will a randoseru look good with the majority of lolita coords we see on CoF? No. This is one opinion of one person.

>>10207363
Spoke specifically about themselves, not their expectations of others. They literally said ‘I’, ‘my’ or ‘me’ 8 times in their post and did not reference anyone else at all. What is ‘using ones self as an example, and not projecting’?

There is a relatively small fringe section of western adults who like MLP and kawaii culture too, yes. But many of them are unfortunately so strongly deluded or drowned in their little culture bubble enough not to know that they are just fringe consumers of a largely manufactured and tiny subset. There are not “tons” of people into any of these things discussed here, not within the general populace of either Japan or any other country either. Most people do grow out of it as well, how many early adopters of j-fashion are still around, active, even still wearing it? A small handful. I wish there were more but there just aren’t.

Japanese lolitas aren’t very much like western ones, and kawaii culture is also very different in Japan. That’s lost on people who mostly consume culture from the internet, go to conventions and live in middle America (Surprise, that’s most of this board).
So they holler about any opinion that doesn’t reinforce their vision of how they think things should be.

But back to person asking about randoseru, they ARE wondering what people will think if they get one. They asked to hear opinions. So no, others don’t need to get shut down just because their opinion is not in favor.
>>
>>10207781
A model for Juliette et Justine. This is a photo from their latest release campaign. They unfortunately don’t credit their model’s names as far as I know.
>>
>>10206386
semi off topic but it really pisses me off that people give AP shit because their jewelry is 'plastic'. They actually do original designs with custom molds and custom printing, whereas all the other brands (even Moitie nowadays) buy mass produced penny-a-piece charms and hastily assemble them together and charge $50+ for them.
>>
>>10207281
I'm looking for socks to wear with lolita. I want to save on shipping, SS fees and time by ordering several pairs from 1 shop instead of from 5 different brands. I started wearing lolita last autumn so now I only have tights.
>>
>>10207807
This is more grinds my gears or feels thread than something of wide enough interest for Lolita General.
But you are correct. They do make very cute and original designs. Unfortunately the material and the immaturity of the designs holds them back from even being considered serious costume jewelery pieces because they do unfortunately resemble children’s plastic jewelery more than something for adults to take more seriously. They are also largely restricted to being worn with Sweet, or some other very twee or kawaii type of fashion, something else that not everyone is going to wear or even appreciate. I’m not sure why you are crying about it though since there is a metric fuckton of it so you have no shortage to choose from if you do like to wear it yourself.
>>

I don’t understand why some lolitas are so scared of washing their clothes. I know BABY is infamous for running prints and then you have things like Milky Berry but other than those one offs AP is always super easy to wash? Are the people who think it’s hard just mentally retarded?
>>
>>10207873
I sort of understand it actually. Lolita is probably a lot of people's first experience with clothes beyond fast fashion, except for maybe a suit/formal dress. Most people are used to being able to throw clothes in the washer (maybe with some color seperation) then throw it in the dryer. If they get trashed in the wash they get trashed, and I know of no one who hasn't had an article of clothing fucked up in the wash. Plus I think Americans default to warm/hot water, normal cycle, and dry on high which is extremely hard on clothes. Top loader washers are also generally very rough, and if you rent you probably aren't getting a good one.

The other option is dry cleaning, which people associate dry with expensive/delicate clothes, but if you're in buttfuck USA there might not be a nearby dry cleaner. They're also prohibitively expensive if you want to wear lolita on the regular.

So then what? They don't want to ruin a dress in the washing machine, which between horror stories of prints bleeding and personal experience with ruined clothes has put them off of. Dry cleaning is expensive and/or inexcessible. But we want our dresses to remain beautiful and vibrant, with intact detailing. Hand washing and line drying is my personal preference until I can buy a washer that doesn't eat clothing.

I know this post is really Americanocentric and I'm sorry, but I think our lack of clothing care knowledge is some of the reason our fashion is so goddamn lazy and fast fashion so prevelant.

you should fact check things like this instead of posting asspulls as if they are facts on topics you don’t know about
>>
>>10207880
This was discussed in recent months, how new can you possibly be?
>>
>>10207891
sorry i don't read every single post on cgl like some people lmao. i have a life.

>>10207885
their prints don't run more than similar prints from other brands, people just discuss ap and baby more often in general.
>>
>>10207920
Stop backtracking. And again, yes they do. Educate yourself on a topic before arguing your uninformed shitpost tier opinions on it.
>>
>>10207924
>backtracking
educate yourself

Advice request. Would you buy some piece of jewlery if the colorway is different from what you put on your wishlist? Bonus points if that thing has some complimentary part that barely go with your stuff.
>>
>>10207928
After you.
>>
>>10206080
>>10207820
I'm looking for socks too. I would buy a bunch from aatp but they don't have much in stock.
>>
>>10207932
Depends on the wardrobe; for example, I have all black, red, and white with silver accents, so I couldn't accommodate pastels or gold, but if you can still coord, wear, and enjoy the piece to its fullest, I say go for it.
>>
>>10207932

If you collect it in all its colourways, and also all your dresses in every colourway, eventually they'll match each other, or nothing at all, and you'll also have a huge wardrobe since you'll own 2-4 copies of everything.

just kidding.

>barely go with your stuff

Kinda feels like you already know the answer. If you can't find a use for it, just pass on it.

Good luck, anon. Jewellery in specific colourway seems harder to find than rare dresses.

Which lolita shops are located in Sendai?

They sometimes have good stuff here: http://kaijublue-shop.jp/
From different indie brands

Yeah, but buy with a SS from them. They tend to cancel orders to forwarding addresses.

Question for people who own Gothic Arch (original JSK release) in white, Is it difficult to get stains out? Would the print get damaged if you have to wash it a lot?
>>
>>10207932
I would, if I could wear it with other things or if I just really like it. I feel like if I couldn't wear it with other items, I might not want to own it in other colors. Though this doesn't seem to be much of an issue for me since my wardrobe is pretty varied in color. I own a few multiples in different colorways of pieces I really like and wouldn't object at all to owning everything in the series.

But I'm also a filthy hoarder.
>>
>>10208085
I own Several other older Moitie pieces which is also screen prints. hand washing should be fine. What’s the stain of and where is it located? If it’s white you should be able to easily spot treat it.

olive oil and black vinegar
>>
>>10208103
Oil you can get out with degreaser dish liquid, will probably be all you need for the vinegar too.

I got oil all over myclothes at one point getting drunk in a korean karaoke bar, dawn and time, plus a toothbrush.
>>
>>10205495
this irks me. Get off this train, trendhopper. It's people like you that made the prices go up and selection go down in the first place. Gtfo my oldschool, youngun.

>Randoseru are for elementary school children. They’re default child-size.
Which is why I said, make sure you're buying some that aren't specifically for children. Randoseru are popular now, there's stores selling them specifically with adult wearers in mind
>>
>>10208152
>old school is for poor people only!!
>>
>>10208094
this reminds me, how do brands go about screen printing large lengths of fabric? I'm a beginner printmaker and thing this would be cool to do. Is it just careful registration?
>>
>>10208152

wahhhhh the style i like is too popular waahhhh
>>
>>10208154
Ageplay stores would have some adult sized ones
>>
>>10208154
what stores?

I bought a ticket to Hellocon's Witches Follies event, but I won't be able to go after all. Is there a way for me to sell my ticket to someone who can go? I wouldn't scalp or anything.

Where are AP's summer prints, what's taking so long?
>>

You'd have better luck buying a secondhand lot.

Don't worry anon. I still look cute.

Are we not in the middle of AP's summer releases? Everything's short-sleeved and breezy for a while now.

What I want to know is when rainy season is. I kind of want a lolita raincoat.
>>
>>10208368
>doesn't even know how to get proper legwear without handholding
Hm doubtful.
>>
>>10208676
I'm not the anon that asked. I'm the anon that suggested. Please read more carefully.
>>
>>10208669
Rain season went already. Max heat will be reached around August.
>>
>>10208301
I think they usually have a thread in their facebook event or facebook group where you can sell tickets.
>>
>>10208793
You're the anon that suggested normie socks.
>>
>>10208611
Google “first day of summer”
>>
>>10208813

Dang, I guess there's no nice raincoats this year. Thanks, anon.

Wow did this bitch shoop Misako's face uglier? That's some small petty energy right there.

Anyone know which brands make blouses for someone with broad shoulders but small bust? Or am I doomed to always wear blouses without shoulder seams like pic related?
>>

Kek. This made my day. Thank you anon.

>>10208937
Jesus that's cursed
>>
>>10208937
I don't think this person did it on propose. Lot of asian photoshop their eyes bigger and face thinner but it just looks unbalanced. Though I agree she should've made it better leave it be.
>>
>>10208842
Because having normie socks means you don't know where to get brand socks? Anon was asking for bulk.
>>
>>10208995
She was asking for a place to buy several pairs in a lolita thread, not bulk buy cheap normie socks
>>
>>10208997
Tbf, the only lolita band I can think of that has several different looking socks in stock is Angelic Pretty
>>
>>10208959
I feel like AatP is a good bet, Meta too.
>>
>>10208959
If you are the same anon in the stupid questions thread who has 38cm shoulder width, I have 38cm too and I fit blouses from Emily Temple cute and Btssb perfectly.
>>
>>10209005
Maybe you it "fits" on your body but btssb is made for 32-36cm shoulder width

At least it's not empire waist. That would put us firmly in toddler city.

>>10209060
Been seeing it sell for ridiculous prices secondhand, too, what the hell guys
>>
>>10208959
Seconding this question. I'm really afraid of buying blouses that have less than 37 cm listed as the measurement.

What lolita brand sells only socks? Really anon? Most brands release a few at a time and most of us just add them into our other orders.
>>
>>10208959
Gathered sleeves is the answer. When I had 42 shoulders and 78 bust I wore mainly MmM blouses and most of them fit flatteringly

>>10208937
Misako's veins match her OP.
