Old Bodyline thread is saging >>10118687Discuss the new items Bodyline has. Cutsews and some casual dresses. I'm interested in the cutsews, but I'd like some better detail pictures.
Man they still have a long way to go on their stock pictures, when will they learn? Also is it so hard to iron something. I know its Bodyline but still step up mr. YanI'm only slightly interested in the one cutsew (OP image), the other one's collar is too plain imo. The rest of the new stuff is not lolita at all to me
ordered OP pic in black, will post pics when it arrives in 6 months.meanwhile, i'll tell you about pic related. it came yesterday (i got red) after a 2-month long wait (their shipping is on a downward spiral), and it's a surprisingly good quality piece. i pinned the bow onto a shoestring as a makeshift headpiece, and it actually looks good like that. i'm confused.
>>10183889That cutsew is cute as heck.
Is L310 a replica?
>>10183909never seen that image before, is it new or am i out of touch?i'd avoid it anyway. it's apparently very oddly-fitting.
>>10183909Probably either Victorian Maiden or Mary Magdalene.Like the other anon said, I’d avoid it. Fitting issues and the bib is also made of that velveteen material which is kinda strange
>>10183911Seems like a new color they added. Pic related were the original ones.Would not recommend getting L310 either. Bought it on good believe, but was pretty disappointed, even for the little I expected. It's pretty much second what >>10183914said. The bib being made of the same material like the rest of the dress and the odd fitting made me immediately resell it.
>>10183911>>10183914>>10183919Thank you anons. I'll get some blouses instead.
Has anyone ever gotten the L588? I'm debating on getting it in purple but I can't find any other images or reviews of it.
>>10183889Looking at the original price, it's quite expensive for a basic cutsew. I can get nicer ones at Axes Femme.
>>10184359i have the jsk, if it's made out of the same fabric then it's pretty decent quality
>>10183975L076 is a decent blouse. I like it as much as my metamorphose ones.
>>10183889>didn't even iron/steam the damn thingI agree it's too plain for lolita but I do like it for other purposes, I unfortunately know from experience that bodyline cutsews are too short for my torso
>>10185048can second this. also, l015 is very good too. it's probably my most worn blouse.
>>10185048I’ve been trying to buy this blouse, but it’s always sold out...
Dumb Bodyline question: When are big sale periods for Bodyline? I want to get to some blouses and shoes to make more coords with my few main pieces, but I want to get them at a good time.
>>10185188we're in the middle of one right now
Any customer photos of this dress yet? Looks comfy for casual stuff but as always the stock photo looks kind of shitty.
>>10185307Also looks like their options for this are messed up as well. There is no pink or black color...
>>10185309maybe there are but there aren’t photos of it
>>10185310Is that something they have done in the past?
>>10185310>>10185309There are black and pink ones you can see them on Bodylines ig.
>>10185309I see photos of the pink and black on the website, and have since day one, wtf...
>>10185377whoops, dropped pic
>>10185379Am I just blind? I do not see the pink and I assumed the black one was grey. Is the striped pink on one of them? I see the blue and white collar, light blue and white collar, and the black/grey color. I am concerned my eyes are broken.
>>10185642It's their shitty lighting, anon. the one maxed in that pic is the black, the one on the right (white collar and stripes) is pink, the one with the blue collar is white.
>>10185642That's not to say that something isn't wrong with your eyes though. If it's that concerning, you might want to get it checked out. But their lighting is bad, it looks like a really warm toned light making the colors (especially the black) look washed out and odd.
>>10183919Can anyone review the fit on this dress?
>>10185652lots of people say it fits weird but it fit me very well. i have broad shoulders and a wide ribcage, 34b 25w and with the waist ties it fits really well. i didn't have an issue with the velveteen collar laying weird or anything and it's probably the nicest BL piece i own. i think it's just one of those things that you have to have the body type they had in mind when drafting it
>>10185652the fit isn't terrible, but the cheap velvet collar looks really bad. It reminds me more of pajamas than a dress, and I couldn't bring myself to wear it out in public. It's just too thick and weird in some places
>>10185652I have 90cm bust 70cm waist and size M fits me perfectly. Arms are a little tight around where the puff part ends so you may want to size up if you have particularly thick arms. Fabric is really thick and soft, lace is good. As mentioned bib part is also made of velvet, which is the only complaint I have about the dress.
What does this set look like without the caplet?
>>10186284expecting this to arrive soon, will update
>>10186284It's a square-neck OP with little puff sleeves before the detachable sleeve. No major details.
>>10186382Could you post pictures of the neckline and sleeves please? Also, do you think it would be easy to remove the two bows at the hem or would they leave marks?
>>10186284I had the set as one of my first lolita purchases. The ribbon lace leaves a lot to be desired, it's a bit rough and sort of pilled weirdly after one or two washes. The cotton lace on the neckline and hem is actually pretty decent, and the measurements were true to size. All in all I'd say it'd make a good casual dress, especially as it's machine washable. If I remember correctly you can just snip the stitches holding the bows on to make it look more polished.
>>10188436I should also note that I owned this about eight years ago so the materials may have changed!
>>10185307Would it really cut into their bottom line to pay for someone to steam out the wrinkles before shooting?
>>10188365You can literally google it and find pics people have posted.
>>10183909I have it in pink and it looks great on me! Not weird fitting like other anon said. But I saw a youtuber review it who said it was weirdly tight in the arms on her and she’s normally/proportionally shaped. Seems like it’s shaped to fit people with s bust so I can see why it looks bad on the flat model. Not really a replica seeing as it’s such a basic design, but it’s a look MM is known for
>>10185652Fits me really well. Large bust and rib cage (I’m a singer) with proportionally small waist and not huge arms. ie large bust but not a fatty. A lolita piece shaped for someone with a bust! What a concept
https://www.instagram.com/p/ByRr4PiHrq5/They posted this on their instagram four days ago.I hope it’s up on the international site soon... I really want that cameo dress in black.
>>10189226Hahaha they tagged it instagood
>>10189226>I really want that cameo dress in black.Same anon.Eventhough I already bought a few of the dresses they restocked recently, seeing l087 getting restock kinda makes me ponder if I should get it too since it's also up my alley and one of the better solid pieces. Just a bit concerned about shoulders. How much room do these dresses have above their indicated shoulder size? Does the back shirring help here?
>>10185307I've ordered it on black, I can do a review when it arrives if anyone is interested! I'm not expecting it to arrive for a few weeks though. >>10189226I've been trying to get this dress for years! I had it and I sold it when I went through a sort of cringey "real lolitas don't wear Bodyline" phase, regretted selling seriously. The material is very thick but once ironed it looks great, very comfy fit.
>>10189262Wow, that looks so much better than the stock pic.
I wish i got into lolita sooner, when Bodyline was still selling cute shit like this
>>10189324please tell me this is gonna come back in stock
I wish they’d finally restock some decent accessories. Socks, bags, wristcuffs, whatever. They’re really lacking in everything except main pieces and shoes
>>10189371this. where'd the white socks & maxi pad rose headdress go?
>>10189375I know they still had the white maxi pad one with the roses recently, but I guess stock was low. The one with the bows is still there. Also, if anyone's interested - they got L353 back in stock (pic related), black and size L only though. I have this skirt and it's gorgeous.
who's gonna make itacore happen with me
>>10189734am I disgusting for thinking this could be a passable for old school with the blouse tucked in?
>>10189371god this. I really need to stock up on socks.
>>10189799I think I agree with you honestly. I'm not sure about the contrasting ribbon lace on the blouse, but in the pink, sax, and brown colorways it looks nice from what I can see. Personally, the red and black ribbon on the blouse is too much contrast for my taste, but I could see why someone would like it. Not sure about the lace quality from the pictures alone, but it is bodyline, so quality is always a toss up. It could be nice or it could be shit. And it is a set, so you can wear all these pieces separately if you wanted to.
Last night I had some items in my cart that were on sale. I got distracted and when I came back the sale was over. I'm kicking myself for waiting too long to check out.
>>10189734I used to own this and the quality is really terrible on all of it desuEspecially the lace
>>10189734I kind of want that blouse to wear under JSKs. I like the ribbons on the collar.
>>10189799I can't find it now, but I saw it on a girl sometime last year and it's super cheap looking. It looks horrible. But if you don't mind that, the style is old-school-esque at least.
>>10191505Ap has a ton of similar blouses, you can find them 2nd hand for pretty cheap.
>>10191505it's only in basic colors but I believe this is the same blouse, just sold on it's own for about $15. https://www.bodylinetokyo.co.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=25146I have it in black, the ribbons are super cheap feeling but the fabric itself isn't bad. Definitely worth it grabbing it on sale.
>>10184359I have it. It's pretty well made and one of their nicer pieces. I'd say go for it.
How long do P-Mail items take to ship (Europe)?
Does anyone know when the sale ends?
>>10193575anywhere between 3-6 weeks from experience
>>10186284>>10186346 reporting back in, it's actually very decent. snipped off the bows at the hem like that one anon recommended, which was an easy task. they were pretty bunk. the bow does that weird folding that most bodyline bows have unfortunately, and i struggled getting the lace at the bodice in the right position, but it's a very cute solid piece. the cape is very fiddly and i just gave up with it lol. pic related might give an idea of how size M fits
is it just me or is bodyline shit like way more expensive? I remember the prices ranging from 20-60 now most are 40 up. I guess with the sale it whittles it down, but goddamn. Even their nice maxi-pad headdresses are like $5-6 more expensive than I remember buying them at
>>10194091i think they're doing the wish.com thing where they act like the price was marked down from a high price but it was always cheap. it's just a never-ending sale.
>>10194096well, I wouldn't expect anything less from the Yandy man... I think i'll just stick to second hand from now now on
>>10194097yanny is gone, I think it's an artefact of the new management or something
>>10194102his legacy lives on...
>>10194091>>10194096Ever since yanners left about a year ago, they've been doing a perma sale, so roughly it's still the same. But before that it was fairly expensive and unlike now where they are actually restocking some stuff again, it was mostly leftovers nobody wanted.
>>10189435I thought about nabbing it but the measurements seem big for an L. What size do you have and how is the fit?
>>10194146I don’t think it’s that big, minimum waist starts at 68cm for L iirc.I have the size M skirt and a 72 cm waists and it fits well. You can take it in a bit with the front lacing.
>>10194081Oh man this was my very first dress many years ago and I sold it because it was "too ita" and I didn't think of making little changes, I'm pretty tempted to get it again now...
I'm not ever seeing larger sizes in dresses and shoes restocked these days. Am I just missing the restocks or are they actually not restocking the larger sizes anymore?
>>10194091>>10194126Bodyline hasn't been really, REALLY chip since 2011 or so. I remember way back in the day nothing was above $25, back during the good old years of the fruits parlor replica. Unpopular opinion but bodyline actually had some better pieces back then, atleast they actually had some decent cutsews and boleros, which they haven't updated in ages.pic related was a really nice and hefty skirt. now they only sell the weird printed versions.
>>10194830posting a couple old bodyline stock photos for nostalgias sake. i kinda miss this print.
>>10194831bodyline used to have really nice coats, i still have my bodyline coat and its my only winter coat.is there any bodyline pieces you guys wish they would bring back?
>>10194833>never forget tubgirl print
>>10194835this bolero was nicer than some of the brand boleros i own
>>10194838i wish they'd bring back some of their outfit sets for halloween because they were really nice
>>10194840like this one, it even had little bat wings on the back and it was actually pretty hefty and well made
>>10194790You are a few weeks too late anon. They had a storage clearance recently and threw a lot of different dresses and shoes in various sizes and colors up for sale. Some of which that weren't available for years (like l348).If it's some consolation for you, they recently started restocking some of their old stuff, especially solids, and preview them on their instagram a few weeks in advance, see also >>10189226. It's quite slow though and only happening in smaller bulks every other month. Pic related was one of the recent pieces they announced to restock.
>>10194830I wish they’d bring this back in solids. The floral cameo printed one (same design constructionwise) was my first real lolita piece and I still own it. Even bought it in a different color recently. A solid would be nice though.I wonder why they don’t bring old, popular solid designs back?
I know it's Bodyline and I shouldn't expect much, but what is the quality like these days? Has it improved, worsened, or flatlined?
>>10194091You need to keep in mind inflation has been pretty bad the past decade. A little price hiking was inevitable. Also, what are Chinese lolita thoughts on Bodyline? I'm guessing they don't buy the brand, but instead taobao?
>>10194962their shoes are still the best out there, my 10+ year old bodyline shoes hold up better than any brand or secret shop ones i have. their costumes are the same quality as always, made out of that weird fakey synthetic polyester type fabric.I purchased the new cutsew dress with the cat on it, and it's alright, it's made out of sweatshirt material, the collar is removable and if you take it off it does look like a sweatshirt. It's sturdy and warm, but the print isn't great, it's the type of printing that I know would met if i were to wash and dry it in the wrong conditions.I think its less that their quality has improved and more that they stopped making some of their more weird and risky pieces.>>10194957I also miss their solids, but brands hardly release solids these days so i doubt bodyline will now
>>10194957>I wonder why they don’t bring old, popular solid designs back?>>10194975>I also miss their solids, but brands hardly release solids these days so i doubt bodyline will nowThey do although they take their sweet time with it.Since they seem to be more active on their social media channels again, maybe leaving suggestions in their comments sections would help giving them a better idea what people are interested in?
>>10194833There's so many pieces I wish they'd bring back, either so I can replace my old worn-out one, or to buy a new colorway.Pic related are pieces I've owned and loved for years. If they restocked, I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.Left to right, top to bottom:> L109> L306> COSTUME436> L104> SOCKS472> SOCKS490> SHOES188> SHOES291
>>10194992Seconding suggestions or asking when items will be back in stock. I know it's a reach that they'd consider it, but it can't hurt to try. I remember emailing them a few years ago asking if something would come back in stock and I got an actual reply from a human being, not some automated reply.
>>10195513I still have those boots! I had no idea they were not sold anymore. They're great quality. That cardigan was nice too but I sold it.
Why am I always hearing that bodyline is great for chubbies but they're literally always sold out of big sizes?
>>10196125Right? The boots are amazing!Unfortunately for my pair, I got them when I was a teen and didn't take proper care of them, so they have some scuffs and scrapes. I tried repainting some of the marks and they covered up really well, though. The tricky part is trying to find a matching shade of pink. It's been about 9 or so years that I've had them and they've outlasted any other footwear I've owned from around that time. Bodyline shoes are seriously something else.
can i use the frozen water-bag method of stretching my shoes out on BL shoes? would that crack the pleather?
>>10196185because all the chubbies already bought it
>>10196185>bodyline is great for chubbies>always sold out of big sizesI mean both statements don't contradict eachother. Bodyline pieces can be quite accomodating for chubbies. The reason why they're always sold out is fairly simple though. Bodyline neglected their product line-up for years and never bothered with properly restocking, which is why mostly small sizes were left. And on the rare ocassion of them restocking certain dresses or costumes, larger sizes sell out the fastest, which is why you never see them unless you're really early.
>>10195513>L109I have so many regrets that I never bought this.
>>10196649Same, oh god. I kind of always thought “Eh, I’ll get it later...” I didn’t know Bodyline’s selection would get this slim
>>10194833all the coats. where the fuck are they??
>>10195513the cardigan, HNNNGG. i'm so mad i never got it.also i need cheap white socks and i guess they just don't do them anymore?? bodyline's missing out on that one, they'd sell like hot cakes.
>>10196649>>10196682It's a really comfortable material, just note if you ever do buy it secondhand, it pills quite easily if you don't take good care of it. So detailed seller pics are best.>>10196754That's what really pisses me off. Nowhere else, not even Taobao, makes plain white socks with cotton lace. Now all of it is either see-through lace, or lace that sticks straight down or straight up. I loved the frill that BL's lace socks had, it's so old school and you can't find that anywhere now.
>>10196784That annoys me so much. When I asked for recommendations in the dumb questions thread recently, it was only “try Brand socks”. But I honestly can’t justify $50 (after shipping and potentially taxes when ordering more than one pair) for plain white socks.
>>10196837They've only been releasing socks with transparent lace anyways, like pic related. I just can't stand how they look, they remind me of sissies.Seems like the only good way to get cotton lace socks would be secondhand, but that's not a great choice for obvious reasons.
>>10196911The first thing that comes to mind when I think of sissies is cheap Raschel lace desu.
It's not hard to hand sew decent lace trim onto plain otk sock tops, anons! Y’all should give it a go.
This came in today and THE SLEEVES DO NOT ITCH A SINGLE BIT. HALLELUJAH.I'm actually so relieved. They're even comfy.Btw the ribbon at the neckline unties
>>10196993I’m very relieved to hear that, I was afraid the sleeves were going to be iffy, that’s what kept me from ordering.Do you think you can take some pics of the sleeves in natural lighting please?
>>10196754I have it in good condition for sale, just never got around to listing it
Are BL wigs decent?
>>10197593I've bought a bunch that were fine and even better than I expected, but it was a few years ago. I heard the quality varies from wig to wig though.
Bodyline RHS when
Looks like bodyline is changing their shoe sizes to S, M, L, and LL
>>10197812Which ones did you get? Are they overly shiny? I'm tempted, my hair really needs a styling break!
>>10197859let's hope they won't do it for all shoes
>>10197943As a 24.5, I heavily agree
>>10197859there's no way in hell. who the FUCK thought that was a good idea???? EVER???? do they not realise everyone feels risky buying shoes online, even with detailed sizing??at least i'm 24.0...
>>10198904Well, those are the sizes burando shoes come in, right? Japanese population is more uniform in size so they don't really need niche speciality shoes to be made in a huge size range. I'm 26.0 so I never get any burando shoes.
>>10198904Being between 23.5 and 24 I never know if M or L will fit better.
>>10198912Atleast from an economical standpoint it could make sense for Bodyline. Less shoe sizes means less expenditure for them. They don't have to order a huge number of sizes of each shoe model and color, therefore have to deal with less leftovers and less "wasted" storage space while still covering the majority of sizes for their main customer group. From a consumer's point of view, this change sucks balls though.>tfw size 26.5I guess this was it for shoes...
>>10196911This isn't true though, they just sell out fast. I have bought multiple pairs of brand socks directly from Baby in the past 6 months with torchon lace.
Does anyone have this? care to post pics of it or comment on the dress? thinking of getting it in all 4 available colors since it's cheap, but if it sucks then I'd rather not. it's kinda cute though
>>10198904what >>10198912 said. Americans have more variety in shoe sizing, I think. That being said i'm pouring one out for my big feet friends.
>>10199219I know it's just the angle of the photo, but for the longest time I thought the waist straps were embroidered at the back with one being a ribbon and the other being a moon
>>10199259Same here anon. lol>>10199219I just purchased the white and black/white the other day. When I get them I'll let you know if I remember. Lusty0majo on instagram was the person who made me really want this dress. Before it seemed cute on top but I wasn't feeling the bottom. Well, pic related is actually pretty cute, so when I saw it was on sale I decided to take a shot.
>>10199272She's so stuffed into that dress, oof. Not a good look especially in the light colors.
>>10199281yeah but it's got potential on someone who fits imo
I haven’t bought from bodyline in so long, I feel really stupid. What does the P-mail shipping description refer to? You can only buy one item at s time?
>>10199496Yes, P-mail means you're only shipping one item. However, you can use it multiple times. I've split up a large order into singular P-mail packages and got free shipping for everything that way. Receiving a new package every day was pretty exciting, too, not gonna lie. Also I'm not sure if this still applies, but I was able to use my points balance on every order without the amount of points going down. So I was able to use my 300-some-odd points 5 different times in a row.
>>10199496i have purchased 2 OPs and had them both sent together (in the same package)with pmail multiple times now with no extra charge. I think it depends more on weight.
>>10199647I think so too. The heaviest I’ve ordered together was a pair of shoes and a hair accessory and they sent it with Pmail just fine, but I won’t try anything heavier.
Does anyone care to give their thoughts on what is the best quality Bodyline piece? Also, what timeframe do you think Bodyline was at their peak for quality and design?
>>10199219I have it and it’s actually pretty good! Quite a heavy fabric, not brand heavy but I don’t wear it past mid spring
I ordered something on bodyline a week ago because they were always super fast on shipping to me (like 10 days even on pmail) and they sent it out quickly but the tracking hasn’t updated at all and is still in the ‘item not found’ I need it for an event mid July, thought a month would be fine but it’s usually in my country by now and it’s not even scanned in once yet?Did I fuck up? I need to modify it beforehand too
>>10199822I think they only ship out their stuff once a week. Ordered their sailor dress about two weeks ago. Took them a week to ship out the package, but only two days to get processed and arrive in my country.Try checking the tracking again on monday.
Does anyone know the quality of this set? The skirt doesn't look great but the cutsew is cute
>>10199219strongly considering getting this in the black/white colorway and removing the bows along the bottom. maybe the uppermost white ruffle on the skirt too? those two details in particular always keep me from buying this but it's so cheap right nowalso, for any busty anons here, l015 is available in 4l right now and fits me at 106cm. would definitely not recommend it for anyone larger though, as it is not shirred. can take detail pics if requested
>>10199822Pmail sometimes takes up to 1 month for me. Really just depends. like the anon said, they send about once a week, usually on tuesday japan time.
>>10194835Man I miss Bodyline's heart aprons.
>>10198922Where can you get 26.0+ size shoes anymore? Just an*tai*na?
>>10200890Antaina and Angelic Imprint are the biggest shops on taobao for lolita shoes in custom sizes. If you're looking for bodyline shoe models, there's a small shop called w_phoenix that might be interesting for you. They are selling a few of the more popular models including bodyline's rocking horse shoes in various colors and sizes (up to 44 for normal shoes, 42 for RHS). https://shop107567742.taobao.com/search.htm?spm=a1z10.1-c.0.0.75212e68cLOcjF&search=yI'll definetly order a pair for myself with my next order and see what they are like. No idea though if they're the contracted producers for Bodyline shoes makng some money on the side or if those shoes are replicas.Outside of taobao there's also cotton candy feet based in brazil, but they much more expensive.
>>10200343>l015what's the quality like?
Any opinions on l595? I think the stock photos make it cute but I'm worried it might end up being empire waist
>>10200183found this worn pic
Looks like a new skirt?3,239 JPY (30.18USD) On sale for 1,684 JPY (15.69USD)https://www.bodylinetokyo.co.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=63958&lang=en
>>10199219I hope you bought it because it’s back up to 4400 yen
> The image is published with permission to use. The other day Misako Aoki came to BODYLINE Harajuku store.Once a couch waifu, always a couch waifu.Blink twice if you need help, Misako!
>>10202853don't worry, she's far too old for the managers' tastes now
>>10202853I remember walking past the bodyline store in harajuku and thinking "man those clothes look like shit". this was way back before i even got into lolita or knew what bodyline was. their terrible quality and costumey construction is so obvious
>>10201186sorry for the late response, I've been travelling the past few days! going to note here that I don't have any brand blouses to compare to and I'm fairly new, but it's not bad at all. the material is stiff but not papery and gross like l364. the lace is all cotton cluny/crochet lace so it's very soft and imo pretty nice looking. the satin ribbon bows are about as cheap looking as you'd expect, I'm probably going to remove the chest bows at the very least. overall, i have a few bodyline blouses and this one is my favorite so far.
I'm confused. The order page says that P-Mail can only be 1 item, or 2 if it's fashion accessories. However it also says you need to spend over Y1000 / $10 to get the free shipping. So for small things like socks, etc. can you just not to P-mail for them?
Does anyone have any worn pics of L357?
>>10203115Sorry thought this woman had the jsk but she just has the skirts. Here's what that looks like at least.
>>10202830>>>10199219 (You)I did! I got all 4 colors, and checked last night and saw that red was listed now too, but when I went back to buy it, it was 44 bucks. No thanks x3 Glad I got the other colors though.
>>10203049Thanks anon! I ended up getting all 3 colors in stock because of this review. I do have brand blouses, but I have a couple BL blouses that I like and this seems really nice, so thank you for your time
it's weird that it states it like that, because I have purchased 2 OPs at a time and got free p-mail. I think it's more to do with weight, Just add stuff to the cart, make sure it's over 10 bucks, then see what happens. I'm guessing it's based on weight. Shoes probably won't work unless you do one pair at a time, but you can see what it'll charge before you actually go to pay, so just try it with multiple things.
>>10199579I’ve used P mail on like 3 dresses together and it let me
Bodyline prettied up their website a bit. I just wish they restocked more nice things instead of putting up new, ugly stuff like pic related.
>>10203424MILITARY LOLITA LETS GOOOOO BABY
>>10203315Ahhh I’m glad! I kept fretting over which color I wanted and now the price is back up rip. Hope you like it!>>10203424This is a restock of an older design, I think from 2014? I remember it being decently popular on tumblr
>>10203424>pic related>newThe only new thing here is your ass.
>>10203424>selling for $85 marked down to $44god bodyline 2019 and these price hikes.........take me back to when everything was under thirty bucks
>>10202856Yan isn't even the manager or owner anymore
>>10203740i know, doesn't mean that photographer that tried to marry venus left too. these companies are usually ridden with nonces.
>>10203458Thanks anon, I'll let you know how they turn out once I get them!
>>10203586I’m not new, I just don’t keep track of all Bodyline releases from five years ago.I mostly buy their simple pieces to pad my wardrobe.
Why has it been stuck here for so long? It usually updates a day or 2 afterwardsFree me from this hell
>>10204392I had a package that seemed to be stuck in New York for weeks. When it turned up at my doorstop earlier this month, the tracking still said it was in NY.Maybe there is just some sort of glitch with updates this month?
>>10204392they send the tracking right after payment, but the items don't actually move until they take all their packages, which is usually super early tuesday morning for me. I ordered the same day as you and it says the same for me. We just placed the order after they had already shipped for the week. I've placed about 6 BL orders this year so far and they have all been this way for me.
>>10203049Oh yay! I’m waiting for mine still but that’s good to hear! Thanks anon
>>10203316>>10204542Glad I could help!>>10203315interested in a review, I waffled on it and missed out, curious to see if it would have been worth it.
>>10204689I’ll post when it cones, I have some similar style brand blouses to compare it to
>>10204689>interested in a review, I waffled on it and missed out, curious to see if it would have been worth it.Sure thing!
Is there a way to make bodyline blouses less... crinkley? Like, if I wash them or something? Does that soften them up at all?
>>10206038steam or iron them
I just spent nearly $500 on Bodyline. To be fair, I plan on reselling whatever doesn't fit/is shitty quality on Poshmark and Depop. I'm not sure if I'll regret this or not, but at least I stocked up on shoes and blouses. Should I make a review on my blog? I feel like there's already a lot of haul/review posts/videos on the internet, so I'm not sure, but if people would be interested, I'll do it.
>>10206170There's a lot because people like it. Go for it.
>>10206170There's never too many reviews. Please go ahead anon!Also>500$ on bodylinejc what did you buy anon?
what's the verdict on BL's corsets? I got a potato sack dress that would otherwise be pretty cute, but not as a sack and wanted a corset to change the shape. Are they worth it?
>>10206039jfc not wrinkly, crinkly.>>10206038It's the fabric. It's going to be like that forver, unfortunately. Washing them a few times can help, but you'll always have to deal with some noise and papery texture.
>>10206170Even before it arrives, I'd like to see what you bought if you were interested in making a collage or whatever. I'd have a hard time picking out $500 of good items from Bodyline these days so I'm interested to see if there are hidden gems I'm missing.
>>10206237Thanks anon. Does anyone have any bodyline coord inspo? Bodyline looks so cute on other girls, but when I get it and try to wear it, I'm not impressed. It always looks more like a lolita cosplay.
>>10206279these are all pretty recent, happy coording
You still want photos of this cutsew?
>>10206170Please do a review on a blog and link. I love reading lolita stuff with my tea.
>>10206337Thank you! That looks tons better than the stock picture, especially the lace around the collar.I think I’m gonna order this, I need more cutsews.
Squirrel Party JSK (L391) and Cinderella Bunny JSK (L481) have been restocked.https://www.bodylinetokyo.co.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=25076https://www.bodylinetokyo.co.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=25100
>>10206429can these bitches just restock their socks already
>>10206170 hereI lied. After looking at the email again, it was actually $440. Working on the collage >>10206240 requested right now. I'll probably post it here tomorrow.
>>10206429Yaaas getting Cinderella Bunny in mint. TY for posting about it
>>10206170I want to see a collage of your order. Then hear what percentage was actually decent quality.
>>10206732>>10206240Here you go!I feel like I'm gonna have to defend the petticoat and L217. I got the set just for the beret, and I know the jacket and skirt will probably suck. For the petticoat, I want a very low poof petticoat, and I know bodyline is notorious for weak pettis. Even if it does end up being worse than I expect, it was only ten bucks, so whatever lol. I'm also kinda worried about L082, but my friend has it in pink and it's pretty cute, so I took a risk.As for everything else, I'll just have to wait and see if I like the quality or not. I'll post an update when everything comes in and when I make the blog post :)
>>10206793tell me how l352 is when you get it. I want that one but I've heard it's bad.
>>10206793> L168I have this dress and love it for daily wear!I ended up removing the vertical ruffles, and taking the bows from the ends of those and replacing the ones on the bodice with them. Also, the pearl chain on the bolero is removable.> L051Great blouse and has held up a long time for me. Just be warned, the collar is massive, but in a cute kind of way. It's actually good paired with L168 because the collar does well at hiding the thick straps (that aren't really straps, it's more like a sleeveless OP if that were a thing.)
>>10206793Would love a review of L172!
>>10206793Thanks for sharing! Definitely interested in reviews, I've been moving away from spending big bucks on Lolita for a while.
>>10206395thanks for posting this one, I was going to back away from buying this since the skirt on the models looks barely big enough for a petti but this looks much better!>>10206793bless you anon, interested in detail shots of l009 when it arrives. also interested in how well the shoes fit compared to your foot size in cm, if you don't mind (I've heard some of the shoes are more true to size than others but can rarely find any details).
>>10206793i own half of this stuff lol. l445's jumperskirt is really nice, but it's best to use the detachable bow from l082 instead of the crappy detachable bow in that set. also, the headbow from it was an immediate trash for me. i already talked about l082 here somewhere, it's nice if you make minor alterations.
>>10206874I just looked at your post and you're right, it looks so much better with the bows on the hem taken off! I'm not so worried about it anymore, so ty!
>>10206793May you do a review of the L553 bolero?
>>10207011Not that anon, but I have it in white. It's pretty cute irl with the ruffle trim and comes with a detachable bow. It ends really high, just at the bust line, so it's better for flat chests if you like to wear it closed. It's biggest flaw is that the sleeves are a little itchy
Anyone have thoughts on l288? Not my favorite choice but a lot of their long sleeved blouses are sold out so I'm thinking of giving it a shot. The lace is kind of sketching me out, though.
My first time ordering in a long time, does the yen trick still work and what's the protocol for shipping? It states 1-2 items only for PMail, ”extra charge if more”...otherwise they charge the regular rates for EMS? That seems weird. I want 3 pairs of shoes, do I have to make 3 orders? I need some coaching on this, please!
>>10207276This is fugly even on the model, and simply a waste of money. It's not just that the lace is bad, though it is. Look at that huge collar, the overall sleeve shape on the top (not nice and poufy at all), the weird shape of the sleeve bottom. Don't hate yourself like this, anon.
>>10207316I'm lost too. I just wanted 1 item and there is no pmail option :(
>>10207316You'll probably have to do 3 separate orders since it's shoes. but you can try to do it all as one order. It tells you what it'll charge for shipping before placing the order. and no, there is no yen trick anymore.>>10207323Pmail doesn't work for some countries, apparently. Depends on where you are.
>>10207329Maybe I'm missing a shipping special because I get to the last page (confirm your order) after selecting shipping and applying my registration points and delivery charge still says zero. That's why I'm confused.
Are any of the bows detachable? Is it even worth the price plus international shipping, or would I be better off getting Demonia shoes in the US if I'm just looking for black heels?
>>10207332because it's free shipping, that's why it says 0.
>>10206793I have l352 in sax, I actually love it! I find the bodice really flattering, and it's kind of a stiffer, more gauzy cotton that holds it's shape really nice. It has a subtle metallic thread running through the pattern, but I surprisingly don't hate it. The lace and ruffles are really small so they don't look gaudy.
>>10207394No they aren’t detachable. I like them but demonias are better
>>10206793L217: Fluffyjawaiijo on YT wears it all the time in brown and the fit is yikes! Even the berry is ehhhh. But maybe they’ll fit nice on you
>>10206793l217 is actually really nice fabric irl, very heavy and good for colder months. The white fabric on the skirt is more meh, but the lace and fabric used on the actual color parts will be good quality. Warning that the beret fits a little odd, but the skirt should be very wearable
>>10207409I did not read about free shipping, when does it end? Is it just a summer special or ?
>>10207467>I did not read about free shipping, when does it end? Before they redid their homepage again, they had a small banner at the very top saying it's going until the end of this year, 31st december.
>>10207467pmail is free shipping if it's over 10$
>>10207472>>10207474>>10207479Thanks much! I’m so glad to get some shoes ordered, cursing my big feet! I’m hoping they will restock and that in the new sizing LL is actually true to 26 size, 25.5 is slightly too short in length for me.
>>10207276yeah that blouse is awful, don't... but what is that jsk's product code????? i want a kewpie doll dress so bad holy shit
L364 (the meme blouse) has been restocked in a bunch of colors it seems and its on sale for about 15 USD.
>>10207769l547, it's $26 rn
>>10207798why meme blouse
>>10207964I just call it that cuz it seems to be the same blouse everyone has. Kinda like those crisscrossy socks from BTSSB
I wish they would restock the chocoberry skirt and/or JSK ...
>>10208074I'm right there with you
>>10208074They still have this strawberry jsk in stock but only in black (the worst colorway in my opinion)
Does anyone have this dress? It looks so cute, but it's hard to find anything about it
>>10208475Searching google for "bodyline tartan" shows this JSK as L352.
>>10208483Yes, I know. I was just curious if anyone could tell me what it's like. I've heard that it is papery and rough, and some people say it's nice, so I wanted to ask. It looks really cute.
Some skirts and shoes have been restocked. It's not clear which ones, however.
>>10208524An Instagram post teasing their new yukata.
They've also opened their first store in China.
>>10208527Even bodyline is catering to the chinks now.
>>10208527Huh. The store even looks pretty nice
>>10208490It is a cheap material and the sparkly threads are plastic, which makes it scratchy. The zipper doesn't like to stay up. The bow is an odd shape and likes to flip itself outwards. Only flattering on taller people. I don't recommend it.
>>10208536Go back to /pol/ you're not wanted here.>>10208525This is pretty cute even if it's not my style.
>>10208665>Implying anons aren't always complaining about brands catering to the Chinese.
>>10208673Maybe you should stop being a poorfag and spend more money on brands you like then
>>10208663I'm actually tall so I might check it out. Thanks for the perspective!
>>10208675>Implying I'm the first anon and actually care about thatI'm just saying you're retarded if you think complaining about the Chinese is a /pol/ thing.
>>10208673>implying the entire world isn't always complaining about every industry now catering to the Chinese
Does anyone have costume839? I'm worried about it as it says it's a costume, but it actually looks really nice.
>>10209507It absolutely is very nice! One of the best Bodyline pieces I own, I have no clue why they’re calling this a costume. The fabric is thick, so it falls nicely. It’s Polyester and not too nice when it’s really hot, but it’s an awesome piece for spring/autumn.Just be careful with the sizing, the waist measurements are not very forgiving.
>>10209517Thank you anon! I actually just purchased it.
Some dresses have been restocked and the new yukatas have been listed.
>>10209725The yukatas in question. To be honest, when they first announced them, I assumed it was just going to be more of their old attempts at wa-lolita.
>>10209725How is the dress pictured? I'm tempted, I admit. I've been trying to get away from so much bodyline except for them having shoes in my size but it's so cheap and wash and wear, I can wear my lolita so much more without worry and now with Yandyman gone, no more ’supporting a creeper’ guilt. I guess I'm doomed.
>>10208673It's a good thing Chinese people are supporting brands. Westerners certainly don't do a good job with that, and lolita is not doing as well as it once was in Japan. Bless the Chinese for keeping it afloat.
>>10209748I own the dress myself and it's a pretty decent piece. I removed the vertical ruffles and took the bows from the skirt to replace the ones on the bodice. It works really well for daily wear, it's very easy to clean, and matches well with other pinks like my AP bag in pic related. The material is a decent weight, can't say too much about whether it gets hot or not since I live in a pretty cold environment year-round.
Is there anyone here who's owned L126 and can tell me about its quality? I can't find a single review of it. Thanks!
>>10209507Seconding, I have it and it's really comfortable and cute. Good sturdy fabric, definitely not the slightest bit costumey.
$500 anon again. All my packages have come in! Haven't opened them yet, but I just wanted to let you guys know. I'm so glad to hear so many people are interested and I'll be sure to take good pictures and be as detailed as I can.
The bodyline main page now splits into "lolita" or "cosplay" before items are shown. Weird.
In case anyone's interested they reduced the poptart dress from 60 to 25 to 13$.https://www.bodylinetokyo.co.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=25127It's not 6.66 as it used to be, but still fairly reasonable. Just be quick before they remove the second discount again like it happened with >>10206833.
>>10209961I'm so excited for you anon! Looking forward to your posts about it.>>10209964I quite like the idea, but after you select one I thought it'd bring you to a cosplay-only or lolita-only part of the site. Looks nice though, helps separate the two for people visiting the site I guess.Just want to shout out to everyone in this thread, I saw a few people shitting on BL recently, just the usual "if u buy BL you're throwing your money away" that I honestly thought had died out a bit. I'm really grateful for this thread and everyone in it because much as I love buying nice brand pieces, I like having low-maintenance lolita clothes for real casual wear.
>>10209760omg, this actually looks cute with the ruffles removed. how is the top of the dress? it looked weird when I saw someone wearing it without the bolero on instagram, but now I can't find it ughhh.
>>10209961can you please review l352? wish I would have waited, but I ordered it last night and have been stressing since. it's so cute.
>>10209982desu I do think a lot of bodyline pieces look and feel like shit. but I also think some of their styles are cute, and sometimes it's nice to not have to worry about ruining brand when you know you will be somewhere it can get dirty or ripped, etc.
>>10210067Nayrt but a lot of newer brand pieces also look-feel shit. Bodyline hate is just a meme at this point.
>>10210074This. $350 for a polyester jsk is a fuckin joke
>>10210067Speaking as someone who is sensitive to clothing materials, I honestly prefer the feel of my Bodyline pieces over some of my brand pieces.
>>10210074I dunno, I am an old schooler. I think my "newest" dress is from 2008 and it's leagues better than any bodyline I have.
>>10210046It is a little bit strange at the top, as it's not normal JSK straps but instead basically like an OP without sleeves, or kinda like pic related. It doesn't look too strange with a round collared or sailor blouse underneath, but I don't know if it would look good with anything that doesn't fold over to cover up the thick straps.
>>10210095yes! that is what I saw. It seemed odd on the girl wearing it, but she wasn't wearing a blouse either. Thanks anon, I'll keep this dress in mind if it ever goes on sale!
>>10210098I actually just found this old picture that shows the upper area a bit better.> 2011 me wearing a cardigan as a blouseyare yare daze
>>10210123you made it look cute anon, good job!
>>10209760Are bodyline dresses just always wrinkly like that? I'm kinda worried the dresses I ordered will be perma-wrinkled
>>10210130Honestly depends. Some dresses are made of paperthin fabric, others are very thick and heavy. The mainpieces I own are all so thick that they hardly ever wrinkle.
>>10210130not that anon, but some of them do tend to wrinkle quite easily. really depends though! I have some that barely ever need an iron
>>10209825there are some better detail shots of it on completed LM sales:https://egl.circlly.com/auctions/bodyline-sky-blue-orfeu-bunny-patch-dress-with-cape-l126-op-cape-and-hair-combs-set-size-m-nwthttps://egl.circlly.com/auctions/bodyline-warm-salmon-pink-orfeu-bunny-patch-dress-with-cape-l126-op-cape-and-hair-combs-set-size-m-nwt
>>10210130I have 8 BL dresses and never had to iron any of them. Honestly poly in more resistant to wrinkles compared to cotton in my experience.
>>10209507Does anyone have this sailor dress in blue? I've been trying to figure out if it's more navy, or a bright but dark blue. I keep finding various pictures and they all look different. A blue like in pic related would look so bad on me
>>10210181but a blue like this would look better.
>>10210181It’s a navy irl
>>10210181it's definetly a decent navy irl
>>10210181I have it and that picture is pretty inaccurate. It's basically a standard navy.I really wish I'd gotten the wine version now desu.
>>10210195>>10210209>>10210212Thank you all. I decided to get it.
Does anyone have l589? What does it would look worn without the corset belt?
Sorry for double posting, but I thought I'd try this thread too for more answers. Can anyone tell me about the quality of Bodyline's school uniform bows? I like some of the designs as well as the low prices, but I'd prefer not to buy them if they look really cheap.
>>10206337Are the sleeves itchy?
Does anyone have L604~L606?I have a strange temptation to buy L606 just because it has bunnies. And it can be good for historical coord. (East asian history, that era they first meet weatern cloth...)
>>10210665I bought it for my little sister, who’s one of those fashionable glossy teens. It’s pretty cute and wearable. She wore it with a red cardigan to school and got lots of compliments. The material is polyester, but thick, flexible and not costume-y. It’s similar to the polyester Seraphim uses for their dresses, if not a little nicer. But it’s definitely not lolita and would probably look stupid with a petti.
>>10210376I mean, you can see what it looks like without the belt right there
>>10210719I mean it’s also not being worn right there
Still stalking the thread and hoping 400$bodylineanonchan actually delivers
>>10210665I have L606! It's polyester like another anon said, but I find it that good mid-weight polyester where it's not too heavy for a moderate summer day but not to light to wear in winter with layers. It also resists wrinkles like a champ. It's well constructed for bodyline and easily one of my favorite pieces from them. Super comfy and it has buttons all the way down the front so it's easy to get in and out of for my lazy days when I want something super casual. It can't hold a super poofy petti, but it does look better with some poof.My biggest gripe is the headbow. It's massive and only has a small haircomb to hold it on, and it's too big for the casual look of the dress. I just chucked it in a bin and wear it with berets or simple solid colored headbows. Overall, I'd say it's worth a buy, but regular price is a bit much for it personally. I snagged mine on one of their biannual 50% off sales and I don't regret it.
>>10210958Just got around to taking the first few pictures tonight. 99.9% chance I'll have all the pictures taken by Saturday, and then actually going through and writing and editing... Hopefully it'll be out sometime next week, but if it takes a bit longer I'll be sure to update you guys. I have a life and a job and school lol, so this sort of thing takes a bit longer than I would like it to. Plus being with friends and family this weekend because of the 4th is going to eat up most of my time... But rest assured I am working on it!
>>10210981what is your blog, if you don't mind sharing here. I love reading lolita blogs.
God damn it, I wish I had seen that they have Costume839 listed for cheaper as F1011 before I had ordered.https://www.bodylinetokyo.co.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=25757
Ok this is actually pretty neat.
>>10212195https://www.bodylinetokyo.co.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=63282$3.65 for the green in Medium
>>10212195>>10212195I'd be careful ordering the different item numbered things, especially if the price is drastically different... I purchased a nurse costume and a maid costume from numbers that were different from the typical numbered ones (I had black in both and really loved them, wanted to get a second color for reasons) and the quality was way different (in a very bad way, shiny, scratchy, icky poly compared to the versions I had). It made me sad.
>>10212195This >>10212195 happened to me too, with a lolita item. It might be worth it to take the risk, just be careful anon.
