Shit OP image bro.
>>10145515Yeah that pic is pretty terrible. Bad choice.
>>10145473Yikes for the OP pic... not passing or anything at all, looks like an ugly dude/.
>>10145528Not to mention the shit costume itself.
>*post taking a cleveland steamer on quality of op image*
Legit question, is it possible to hide facial hair with makeup if it’s the color and coarseness of facial hair in the OPs pick? Dude is obviously high test
>>10145473cosplay and cosplayer look like shit yikes
>>10145864It is, OP pic just didn't do a good job of it. Look up some drag beard cover tutorials, they use a combination of color correcting with a thick foundation on top. Usually a red or salmon color to cancel out the green/blue shadow a beard leaves.
>>10145864Yes, color correcting concealer exists, and you can do multiple layers in the relevant areas if necessary if it still shows after foundation, concealer, and setting powder are applied.
Is it weird to cosplay as my waifu if I'm a dude
>>10146200No it’s the ultimate form of love
>>10145864It takes a ton of work fr geneticlets like me
fuck year, i found some perfect heels for my homura crossplay. just gotta paint some diamonds on my socks or tights i got. will post pics later.
>>10146200>cosplay as my waifuthis is why we're here anon
>>10150477ribbons i didnt put on yet. needs something to keep the collar stiff and up, maybe some cardboard or tie. The jackets kinda loose on me, but that better than too tight to wear. its a common complaint in the comments. i might have to get some kind of clamp/band to make it slimmer looking in the waist so it will look nicer. its still new, i would think washing it might help, but i dont wanna wreak it right before the con. its uniform cloth, so its a poly/cotton blend.also just found the heels yesterday by chance at a thift shop, so good, i could not find a better heel that looks like that. might bring some regular shoes tho, they are kinda high and i can walk in them fine but i dunno about all day. theres room in the toe so i can pad them up abit so they feel more like platforms than heels.
>>10150799Are you able to tailor it at all? I think it would look nice if you took in the waist a little bit.
>>10150815no, i could have ordered with custom sizes but i wanted it quick so i could have time to try it on and fix things myself. im just going to get some elastic dress clips for it to slim the waist. might put the back ribbon on it because it just came with a bobby pin to tack on. i think i might do that for the inner jacket collar to stay upright too.
>>10150815agree with him, taylor it anon atleast the waist, also you could use white tricot on the inside of the collar.
>>10145473Funny im about to do the same crossplay i just need to finish my wig and yhe props in hair
>>10150799[KANAME SAAN] intensifies.Where'd you get this from?
>>10150914i got it from amazon. not bad price, came the day they said it would, and i got to special order it to come faster. it has ribbons with bobby pins. comes with plain black socks that only go knee high and a black headband with beads hotglued on them. i got black tights and another headband. the wig is another amazon cheap wig.https://www.amazon.com/Wish-Costume-Shop-Puella-Cosplay/dp/B07B5ZB419/>>10150842maybe for the future, for now i can make due with a quick fix. thanks for the tip, i will find something to stiffen the collar up.
>>10150931Ah neat, I have that one on the way. Uniform cloth sounds nice.
Speaking generally, what should I do about my hands/nails when crossplaying a character without gloves? I find that area to be the most difficult for me to feminize. I moisturize and shave my hands/wrists regularly when in long-sleeved cosplay, but I'm at a crossroads as to how to handle my nails. Do I cut them and keep them short or let them grow a little? And what about fake nails?
>>10150946I typically find that false nails are the way to go if you like keeping things normal in boymode. Saves you any issues with breaking nails and all that, and if you wanna get crazy with it you can pick up tons of plain ones for pretty cheap and just paint em yourself. Nudes or French tips'd probably do the trick for most characters if they don't have a visible nail colour already.
>>10150799Hey anon, did you figure out how to attach the front ribbon by chance? Because I'm stumped on what to do, especially since the undershirt has a zipper.
>>10151692I was just gonna pin it where ever. You at Anime Boston? I seen a Homura crossplay!Im gonna do it saturday.
Is new to lolita anon >>10139943 still lurking?Would be still interested in where you got your wig from.
>>10152363I'm not at any con right now sadly.
suddenly i dont feel so bad about my face anymore
>>10152801Yeah, i was stressing out about makeup and shit, now im like fuck it, gonna rock some cheap aviators and a mask. I can always do makeup another time.
I was in Little Tokyo and found Haruko's goggles, so I bought them. Now I want to crossplay her. You think I should go full on crossplay or can I just get away with doing a "genderbent" version (i.e. no tits). Her outfit is pretty masculine anyways and everything is covered
Man, some of your Crossplay dudes need to remember that if you are going to dress as a woman, you need to smell like a woman. Lit half the crossplay dudes at Sakura, can be smelled a mile away. Take a fucking fucking bath
>>10153092This goes for every nerd. Take a bath and wear deodorant.
>>10152958I think going the extra mile to crossplay really fulfills that role of "Hey I actually look like this character", and it's much more satisfying.
>>10153092I wore scented deodorant this weekend specifically for my crossplays as well as perfume, but I know exactly what you're talking about.
>>10152935Makeup is fun as hell tho, why tomorrow when you can do today?
>>10154497I needed more time to practice before the con. Next time...
>>10154497Any guides? I don't know what to buy specifically and I usually look like a caked mess when trying
>>10152958plenty of flat chested girls have cosplayed her, I don’t think wearing fake tits will make much of a difference
>>10154558Just don’t follow one that involves covering your whole face in foundation. Try Lisa Eldridge’s foundation guide
>>10154558Buy better foundation, make sure it matches, and better setting powder. Don't buy cheap dollar store foundation, or learn how to use less and blend it.
Homura crossplay was a success. i got a lot more compliments than i though i would, despite not having makeup on. even a few people asked for pictures! more than my normal cosplays ever, even.next time i will use makeup and bring props. it would have been fun to drop in the DMC and MGS meetups at AB.
Is it possible to cover stubble from a close head shave with makeup? I've tried a couple times and it doesn't look convincing at all... I'm female and I need to imitate a somewhat receding male hairline (I'm making the wig myself so I'm not concerned about the actual wig, more about hiding the gray-ish color of my shaved head). My head is already shaved so shaving it all the way down to skin isn't a big deal and I would really rather not do a partial bald cap because it's going to greatly increase how long it'll take for me to get ready. PS: I'm building my lats and arm muscles in preparation for this costume to achieve a more male shape because I have very thin arms and would like to do more male characters in the future
>>10158632I imagine it'll be a bit like covering beard stubble for guys, have a go with those sort of tutes
Not finished, but am I pulling this off so far?
>>10160295I'd say so yeah
>>10160295Except for those fuckhuge manhands, I guess so.
Is it still crossplay if the girl is just wearing milsurp?
>>10160620No, there are women soldiers too.
>>10160624I don't think he meant if the character was the one who is crossplaying. If you cosplay as the character, even if she isn't wearing typically female clothing, it's crossplay. The right wig, makeup and silhouette shaping goes a long way to making her recognizable as well, and then it certainly is.
Is it ok to crossplay if you're too fit and insanely conditioned? (165lb 5ft9 8% bodyfat) or should I go for bishounens instead
>>10160761my personal opinion is that you can wear what you want with any body type but if you're asking if you'd pass, you probably wouldn't, unless it's a really muscular female character. That being said, you're free to do it anyway, a lot of crossplayers don't pass, and it's just a hobby, you're not required to fit any kind of quality standard.
What's the best way to get rid of body hair? Epilator, waxing or something else I haven't heard of? I have a lot and I think it grows fast.
>>10160908Depends on the hair. I prefer wax for most thing, but if you want fast and easy epilator is good. It hurts me a lot more. A lot of pulling and sometimes it doesn't grab it. It tends to make me bleed in places like my armpit. Waxing is messy and takes some prep, but I find overall it does a better job.One big rip is better than a lot of small ones imo.In the end it is personal preference.
>>10160915Do you have any product recommendations for waxing?
>>10160908Laser desu. >>10160955Go to a beauty salon. The techniques they use are more efficent that you doing it at home alone. And less painfull.
>>10160759yeah that's what I meant and I already have long blonde hair was planning on doing some light make up, might look into getting the silhouette right. Was just planning on using the waist drawstring but might as well go all out makes it more crossplayish
>>10161102I've done Yuuri crossplay before. Just having a wig/right hair and no facial hair will go a long way. The few people who actually knew the series always recognized me instantly despite being the wrong gender. If you want to look like Yuuri, not much needs to be done, if you want to look like a girl, go for the whole shabang and do makeup and all that.
damn op, that's an ugly ass nigga you used for a pic
>>10160967aight but will beauty salons wax my scrotum, ass, pits and pubes?
>>10160915I'm used to bleeding myself, but I'm curious, do the scars stay or do they go away relatively quickly?
>>10161144Yes, you idiot. But you could always call and check in advance to be sure yourself.
>>10161144what does that have to do with crossplay
Near finished Asuka cosplay from Senran kagura, I wanna redo her gauntlets and possibly play around with the makeup a little more, any tips?
>>10162986maybe some more orange on that upper lip.
>>10162986Brush that wig and hide or pluck those brows
>>10162986aside from the wig/brows anon mentioned, def fix the gauntlets and do something about the bet. also, maybe having scabbards with swords instead of those cheap pussy plastic swords would be cool.
>>10163003sorry, belt*, and maybe a thinner ribbon for the hair?
>>10162995Oh, yah totally, I had lost my concealer but I got more since then.>>10163004Hmm, yah good idea for the swords thanks! And I got a better ribbon since then, that was just kinda all I had laying around.
>>10160295Consider a corset but I think it looks pretty good
>>10160761People will probably think you're hot so I doubt anyone will be offended or think you look bad. If you're trying to actually look like a character obviously your choices or limited.
>>10161210You're the only one who can answer that. It's different for everyone. If you epilate you shouldn't let your hair get too long. Buzz it, wait a few days and if it's like half a centimeter then that's good. Prepare for it to hurt like a bitch though. Don't use it like a razor and do a big line in one go, you're supposed to do a small area and go back and forth. If you're not good with pain I'd suggest some sort of numbing cream for the first time but if it's a large area that might not be very lucrative.
>>10162986Very nice so far anon!
>>10161144I hope your scrotum will not play a part in your cosplay
I went a little lighter applying the foundation. Made taking it off a lot easier.
>>10163981Is this supposed to be Wednesday? Dude. No.
How to do a wig for this character? I'm pretty inexperienced, but I'd like to have any tips
>>10164035Do you mean like, from scratch? Because if you don't then idk how to help you because that's a ridiculously simple wig to style, you probably can even find one that's already pre-styled in something similar
men are so fucking ugly
How common is it for manly-looking bearded men to do crossplay as a joke? I'm thinking of doing it some time, maybe as a Touhou character.
>>10160295>>10160571yeah put on some gloves and a mask to resemble the outline of the shadow often cast on her face by the outline of her hood
>>10164148first you steal heels from us, then the color pink, then pants. just let me wear the skirt in peace.
>>10164176Very common, enough that no one will give you any crap for it. Its always seen as a funny joke, the bigger you are sillier it is.
>>10160295If only you would put this much effort into eating less and working out more.
>>10164178>women "stole" these things from menlol
>>10164185>Crossplay should be banned>as if men don't appropriate enough of women's spaces already.you said men stole things first.
>>10164188I don't know if you're intentionally obtuse or if your education system tragically failed you, but you need to learn some history, anon-kun.
>>10164178>men wear heels>women start also wearing heels>suddenly men don't want to wear heels anymore>"you stole our thing by wearing it and making us lesser by association to feeeeeemales!"It's silly when it's just fashion, when it's entire job fields it's a bit more infuriating
>>10164193im being obtuse and over-exaggerating things, i honestly dont care so much as poking fun. i just wanna crossplay sometimes. excluding people from doing sometime harmless for fun is silly.
>>10164211No anon don't admit defeat!
>>10164211How are some anons excluding you from wearing dresses though? People talk shit all the time, especially on here, it's better to not take it personally and just keep doing what you want.
>>10164216no, i made my point. im not trying to create and win an argument. just let fun things be fun, and be excellent to each other.>>10164220im just putzing around, i dont take shitposting seriously

I wish I had a better wig, but still time to improve before my next con.
I'm a women who doesn't crossplay, I'm just here because I have a legit question. Are most men who crossplay straight, gay, or bi? I'm gay, and most men I know who are into stuff like drag are also gay. Because of that, I've been really surprised that most male crossplayers I meet at cons are straight. Like, these guys do exclusively crossplays and stuff and take it super seriously and try to appear sexy and pass, but are totally masculine and 100% straight out of cosplay. Is this just a way to be able to explore your feminine side? Or am I dumb and is it just the same type of enjoyment as non-crossplay cosplay is?
>>10160761Sakura Oogami from dangan ronpa pls and thank you.
>>10167422Can't answer for everyone, but I'm Bi. I always appreciated femboys and gender bender content, and now I'm a femboy. I do it because I like how I look dressed up, feeling sexy, and because I feel like I'm transgressing some social norm by doing it. I'm probably not the norm for crossplayers based on the ones I've spoken to.
>>10167422I see it no differently as trying to cosplay anything. If I want to cosplay as someone or something, whether male or female, human, non human, anthropomorphic, anything, as long as I feel confident I can pull it off and have the desire to do so, I'll try and cosplay it. If that means some overlap of information and resources from drag queens or fur suiters, I don't care where the info or parts come from as long as it helps.
Still a WIP but i made a pretty comfey Skull grunt crossplay
>>10167422Some guys just wanna get in touch with their feminine side, some are gay, I'd say most are straight leaning towards bi but wouldn't actually go 3D. Crossplay is an art form a lot of guys do, at least from my experience, because they want to represent characters they like, regardless of sex. Also plenty of it is because of fetishes. Transvestic fetishists are aplenty in the crossplay community, much as they don't want to admit it. Does that make them gay? Probably not. If they're straight otherwise, really it's just a turn on.
kinda old but i just wanted to post this since I've never posted it before :p
A photo from the equator?
>>10168671>>10167422also I forgot I wanted to respond to you, I'm bi and mostly crossplay. I dont really intend to but I'm rarely drawn to male characters lol. I'm more feminine out of cosplay tho c:
>>10167422Im bi and a mix of flamboyant/masculine. I find crossplaying super fun
>>10167424im far too white and i dont wana be harassed for blackfacing
Literally nothing but a cheap zentai, but the thread needed bumping.
>>10173311Definitely want to get some hip and chest padding at least there buddy. You look like (can't say absolutely, as you're deliberately angling yourself for the camera) you're pretty thin already, so you're starting out better than a lot of us might, but being as flat as a board with no hips is doing you absolutely zero favors as there really isn't much way to obscure things in a zentai. I'd be curious to see how much of a improvement proper padding and possibly shapewear would do to improve your silhouette.
>>10166441this is actually very sad, ugh black men what is going on :/
Hey /cgl/ first time posting here. I'[ve been very interested in crossplay for awhile but I'm a guy that is very muscular and feel like I would disappoint myself if I tried. I honestly dont care about passing or anything like that, I'd probably just do it alone in my house and want something that feels comfortable and not terribly unfitting. I know that's vague but what kind of cosplay should I try? I figure loose fitting stuff would be better since I have broad shoulders but I wanted the opinions of people who do more of this stuff.Just for the record, I'm not going to go trap mode, I like how my body is right now, I just wish I could crossplay like this and still feel comfortable.
>>10175843>I'd probably just do it alone in my house and want something that feels comfortableSchool uniforms are easy to wear, pretty cute and decent ones mostly not that expensive either. You could either look for a cosplay one or go for the fashion route aka nanchatte. Pic related.Shape shouldn't be much of an issure since they're mostly pretty baggy or boxy. Only exception that comes to my mind could be a cosplay uniform that is designed to be waist-fitting.
>>10145473damn, why do people who start crossplay threads always choose to use this fugly pic
>>10175946>School uniforms are easy to wear,I was thinking the same. I figured I’d go for one 2 sizes too big so I’m not bursting out of it. It’s unfortunate that most cosplay I find is in woman’s sizes so even XXL won’t fit me.
>>10175951Don't know, last time I collected good loads of actually good (if not shopped) Mainland Chinese Crossplayers and no one wants to start the thread.
>>10162986I love your outfits and you are super cute. But you need more shapewear.
>>10167422taste=\=sexualitysame applies with personality
How can I get female cosplay/clothes as a guy? It will all be tracked.
>>10178759You could just not care. If you're that worried about buying something then I can't imagine you ever actually wearing it.If you're in a situation where you feel like you're monitored that closely and have something to lose then why are you even considering this?If you're just being needlessly paranoid about Amazon, the NSA, or some other stupid big brother shit like that then just fucking do it. Who gives a shit?
>>10178759If you buy female clothes most people will automatically assume it's for your girlfriend or something like that, as long as you behave normally and you don't act paranoid
>>10178759it's p dangerous. i went to bloomings to buy some dita von tesse lingerie and nearly escaped from being injected with HRT drugs.
>>10178994the fuckthis is /cgl/, not /tttt/.
>>10178759It's impossible, anon. The straight police will find you and rape your gay ass. Don't order any female clothes!!!
>don't pluck eyebrows for like 6 months>not bushy enough for crossplay>still not manly enough>try filling them in>look unnatural >try tinting them>still look badguess i'll die>>10167422some are agp, some just like wearing women's clothing without the fetish
>>10180470I'm not really familiar with ftm crossplay, but with my own eyebrows I found that filling them in makes the overall appearance look more feminine, even though they are quite thick already. I think the deciding factor is them looking "defined" or not: stray hair around the brows and bare skin showing through the brows (and more extremely, hairs sticking out at odd angles) makes them look masculine.Having said all that, I only know how to achieve the feminine look, so I have no idea which tricks you could use.
>>10164176It'd be harder to find a Touhou cosplayer who doesn't have a beard.
>>10180480i've looked at a lot of men's eyebrows and have come to the conclusions that in their natural state, men have more eyebrow hair than women, obviously, due to testosterone, but also that men's eyebrows tend to be flatter in shape and they tend to have more volume towards the outside of the brow vs the inside of the brow. i think i may resort to attaching individual hairs to my brow area because i just tried that and while it's time consuming it looks like the real thing
>>10168671wtf post more u retard this shit is so hot and im trying 2 jack it
Next time I plan on taking the foundation all the way down my neck so it doesn’t look like I’m wearing a mask.
>>10183907If you're serious and want to actually pass:Eyebrows. Bruh, they deadass look like you took an entire eyeliner pencil and smashed it on. Or sharpie. Please learn to fill them in properly. CONTOUR. Again, if you're trying to pass you need to LAY IT ON. You said you don't want it to "feel like a mask". But buddy, your face is masculine af. If you're trying to pass you're going to need that "mask". Foundation:Stop. White foundation on dark skin just makes you look ashy. Go with your correct color foundation. Hell go to a sephora/ulta away from your town and get color matched if it's scary to ask for help locally. Eye makeup:Falsies and eyeliner go a long way!!!Lipstick:Very few people look good with black lipstick. I don't, and you don't. Just go with a nude... Or if you're hellbent on black lipstick get a better quality one. Get one of those mattes that don't rub off because as it stands, your lipstick looks extremely uneven and it looks like it's melting off your mouth. Go.Matte.Please.
>>10184146I said, look like a mask. Not feel like a mask. Which is why I planned on going all the way down the neck. Despite coming off like a cunt on the rag, I will take your advice into consideration. Especially the nude lipstick. The foundation is the closest to my skin tone, you can’t tell from the not so good lighting from the picture.
>>10184196With regards to lipstick I've found that dark purples/reds work in place of black. It all goes based on the undertones in your skin.
>>10184196if it looks like a mask, it isn't your skin tone. go get color matched, you absolutely will not regret it.
>>10183907Just blend it better, get liquid lipstick instead of stick (and probably exfoliate/hydrate your lips) and change your eyebrows. Look at tutorials on how to do them properly
>>10184196>Despite coming off like a cunt on the ragIronic for you to throw around insults like this when you're desperately trying to pass like you have a cunt and failing miserably. Even dumber of you to say this sort of thing after posting your face. Your eyebrows are trash, your lipstick looks splotchy, and your foundation is ashy (which is why it "looks like a mask"). It looks like you just rubbed foundation all over your skin like a sunscreen. Haven't you heard of Lisa Eldridge? Watch her foundation videos. I don't even know how you managed to fuck up basic things like eyebrows and lipstick when there are tutorials everywhere. Maybe if you actually took concrit well, then you wouldn't look this awful.

Wondering if there's any other options I should consider (that aren't full on professional waxing/hair removal).
What's a good way to conceal my crotch without a dancers belt? I would really prefer not spending 30$ on something I'll rarely wear.

Does anyone have advice on the best way to conceal masculine bone structure in the face? Never tried on make up but want to get into crossplay. But my face isn't passable. The only things I know about make up are eyeliner and foundation (which I still don't get what the purpose of is other than to cover blemishes).
>>10204991I think the key to any crossplay is make up, and diverting as much attention away from your masculine features as possible.
>>10205174Look up contouring tutorials for drag queens and figure out what techniques work on your face.
>>10205174If you can’t derive the purpose from foundation from the name, passable crossplay is not in your cards. Just gender bend the character, people will enjoy a good adaptation more than a poorly executed crossplay any day.

>>10202956you can try an electric razor i guess but it's not as good, it's just a trimmer, it doesn't get rid of the hairs from the root entirely
>>10167422Straight. Problem for me is the male characters I identify with do not share my body type. Also, in a lot of the anime I enjoy, female character designs stand out more to me. Since I make all my cosplays, I want something interesting. And the whole body positivity, cosplay at any size thing isn't something I can get on board with. I'm not gonna cosplay Goku because it wouldn't look right. If some other 130 pound guy wants to do it, that's his choice, but to me, a person's body is as much a part of the costume as the hours they put in making it. So I cosplay what I have the body for.On a side note, even though I'm straight, I really enjoy teasing guys. Whether it's a gay guy, a straight guy who thinks I'm a girl, or a "straight" guy who's into traps, making them blush or pop a boner is far more amusing than it should be. I feel kind of bad when I can't contain my laughter, but no one's gotten too upset. So for my experience, no man dresses up as a girl without being some sort of deviant. It's never just a "cosplay is cosplay" kind of deal. Something has pushed us to break a boundary.
>>10206827>>10207224Put orange/pink concealer over it before you apply foundation. Seriously. Fucking lifechanger, at least for me. That's how drag queens do it. >>10223241This is the typical bitter male lie that all women hate each other. if you are truely interested in lolita, we welcome you.
>>10223269you literally have threads dedicating to hating your own kind just cause theyre fat or the burando isnt good
>>10223323Nayrt, but the lolica community.>>10223339Because this is 4chan(nel) and cgl tends to draw attention of outcasts and drama hungry people, atleast more than a real lolita commThe average lolita comm won't give a shit whether you're guy or girl as long you show you're willing to improve and don't do it for a fetish.
>>10223087>would it be too weird to go into such a female dominated space???Lolitas reacting negatively on men in the fashion are mostly either people with bad experiences or radfems/terfs I feel. And partially I can see where they're coming from, because there are a lot of guys joining comms, going to meet-ups and being total creeps.Show that you're genuinely interested in the fashion, be open for critic and accept that no one should go out of their way to hold different standards on you because you're a guy.The kind of people that are super against men in the fashion are a small minority though. The majority will judge you based on your behavior, especially as a guy in a group of mostly females, and how you dress yourself.Good coords + good styling + decent character will make them atleast shut-up. >btw i dont have a coord or anything yet, dont want to buy it and never wear anythingI highly doubt anyone who isn't already your friend would lend you their lolita stuff for dress up. So if you really want to wear the fashion, get over yourself and spend the money, obv only if your financial situation allows it since it's not really cheap relatively seen.>but how tf would i find someone?Go read some basic guides on the fashion to get an idea what you need to do and where you want to go. Getting in touch with your local community could also help, but personally I'd not attend a meet until the basics (including make-up and hair styling) are atleast alright.Start lurking on here and get a feeling for coord building, which things are okay and what should be avoided.>i dont think id be able to go to an event like that on my own, especially dressed in lolitaYou slowly ease yourself into the fashion and work your way there. If it's your first time wearing it outside, going to a casual meet-up would be a better choice than goind to a formal tea party since you also need to get used to wearing these clothes over a longer period of time.
>>10223370ily anon, thanks for the advice<3i think the most important thing for me is looking cute so theres no chance id go to an event if i didnt have a proper coord or makeupbut yea the main problem for me is working up the courage to godo you think itd be a good idea to go to a meet non-lolita to meet people and socialise first? and then go dressed up for the second time?
>>10223602>do you think itd be a good idea to go to a meet non-lolita to meet people and socialise first? and then go dressed up for the second time?I'd definetly say no unless they openly mention people in casual clothes (not casually styled!) are fine too. If you just casually go to a meet without a coord, it could be taken the wrong way and perceived as an attempt to hook up lolitas, and on top of that also possibly annoy the people that attend the meet. Even if it's not clearly written or said, organizers expect a certain dresscode for meets, mostly lolita and styles that are very close like otome, ouji or aristocrat. Some comms also allow j-fashion in general, but I feel they're not very common. If in doubt, check the description for events (usually on facebook).Quick guide that covers all the basics:https://thelolitaguidebook.tumblr.com/Page has some useful Information too, but might be dated in certain aspects or questionable:https://lolita-tips.tumblr.com/Guide on how to build a basic wardrobe. Technically not wrong, good for orientation, but dated in the aspect that the standards for how many pieces are required to consider it a proper starter wardrobe are higher nowadays.http://www.fyeahlolita.com/2012/05/building-complete-lolita-wardrobe.html
>>10223602No, don't go to a meet unless you are serious about the fashion and actually wear it. That's all they'd care about. It doesn't matter if you are a guy, if you are serious about the fashion and at least have decent social skills then you are most likely welcome in the community you're trying to join. I've met plenty of brolitas. The only ones that are shunned are the creeps.>i think i could be cute enough to pull it off but id probably need a friend to help with makeup and make sure im not ita and stuff but how tf would i find someone???Do it yourself. Lolitas aren't looking for a manchild they can take in under their wing. If you want to join the community and wear lolita then prove that you have a genuine interest in it by doing the work yourself. We can always help you here by giving you coord help, concrit, and makeup help. But do the heavy lifting yourself. You can do it, just don't expect to be spoonfed.

The amusing parts about this thread is that you can go to literally any other thread like nanchatte, jfashion, or lolita threads and omit your penis and having a rectangular shape and you can pretty much blend into any thread.
>>10223652How do you think lolitas feel when dressed up and out in public? You'll be fine. Just go straight to the meet. Socialize, and when you head home ask if anyone is heading in your direction and offer to go together in a group.Or ask in the event you plan to go to if anyone is in your area so you can meet up and go there together. The only thing we can do is give advice. >>10224325It's just my weird way of thinking, since I'm not doing cosplay yet I'm dressing up.Also oh shit that's a good point, I may have to find an anime girl who looks like me when crossdressed.
>>10224218"oh boy" anon here. It's really weird. All sorts of people want lolitas to be all sorts of things. Lolita-at-heart princesses want us to hold hands and sing kumbaya or some shit. Etsy moms want to sell us shitty shit. Crossboarders want us to be their gf. Sissies want us to dress them up and apparently laugh at their cocks? idk. Nobody knows what the incels want (other than to scream at us apparently?) Normies want our photos (and then maybe laugh at us or some shit). Meanwhile itas want us to ""accept"" their special snowflake shit and lie about how gross they really look. For some reason crossdressing dudes think we must be falling all over ourselves to donate our hard-earned free time to help them dress up or some shit. Like uh, give us a break. How about not another person asking for yet another thing. At any given time it seems someone is always mad that we're not the fairy doormat princess of their dreams.Sorry anon, I'm sure you mean well, maybe you do have other arrangements than relying on some random stranger's goodwill to stick by your side patiently while you sort out whatever personal shit you have going on. The statement is really short and gives off really bad vibes of being yet another person hoping they can make use girls as some sort of support animal, so I'll admit to having kneejerk reactions to it. Good luck on your meet.
>>10224431thats fair desuim going to try my best on my own and use this boards help to put together a nice coordbut can you really blame me for wanting to have a friend whos also interested interested in lolita? it really is just that the idea of having to go out in public in lolita, as a boy, for the first time really really really terrifies me>For some reason crossdressing dudes think we must be falling all over ourselves to donate our hard-earned free time to help them dress up or some shit.i honestly dont think that, i literally just want someone to travel with. anything else theyd be nice enough to help me with is just a cherry on topespecially considering something like makeup because its something girls are super duper experienced with compared to guys (me)but yea its not like i wouldnt want to do anything with another noobie, acc i think thatd be better because then its more mutual if you know what i meanalso i honestly wish my gender would just be a non-factor when it comes to lolita, everything seems a lot more difficult and also like is all what i just said really that respective of the fact that im a boy???but i guess your criticism is fair, im just finding it difficult to get into lolita is all

>>10224731>especially considering something like makeup because its something girls are super duper experienced with compared to guys (me)nyart but this is where you need to get over yourself. Women don't wake up with expert makeup skills. They practice and take the time to learn. Same thing with putting together their lolita coords. As should you. >>10224933leggings aren’t really tight

>>10228178Yeah you have to shave them off. Get the hair on the back of your neck too.
>>10224731Do it the way cosplayers in Japan do. Pack a rolling suitcase with your things and find a toilet near your meetup venue to change into. That way you don't need to be travelling in lolita.I get where you're coming from, and to be quite frank toilets are terrible places to put on makeup, the lighting is always abysmal. It's just you gotta take care of yourself and make some contingency plans if things fall through and nobody's available to help you out -- even leaving aside whether they want to or not, sometimes it's just bad luck that everybody needs to be somewhere else before/after the meet and can't walk you home. Besides that, it's always a bad idea to plan to show up at a meet and then beg for some stranger to help you get home. Nothing really shows how bad your planning is and how much of a problem you are than openly showing that you're perfectly capable of getting to a meetup but then it's some strangers' responsibility to help you get home. Have a backup plan ready, then at the meetup you can sound out which girls are okay to hang out with you for a bit after the meetup or whatever, and if they all blow you off at least you can still get home in one piece.fyi the last person that did this in my comm is a GIRL, not a guy. She dropped out after two meets, people started avoiding talking to her, because the first thing she talks about is how much she needs somebody to drive her home (I've no idea how she can get to meetups but can't seem to get home). It's not a guy-girl issue. It's annoying to deal with leeches that, if you talk to them for two seconds, they start asking you to do things for them.
>>10221840Well, anon, i've got my pink ranger cosplay and i'm going to an event like this. I guess i'm either going to be judged as androgynous or just 'what the fuck is this'.

So what research do I need to do before deciding on a fake chest to buy? I'm not even sure what the official name is, but I'm ready to upgrade from just wearing padded bras with inserts. Any info/links would be appreciated.
>>10236066>So what research do I need to do before deciding on a fake chest to buy?Know what your own band size (torso circumference under chest) is.Know what cup size you want to shoot for. (Do take into account that smaller bust sizes won't look good / right on a larger rib cage, don't be afraid to go a couple cup sizes or more larger than what you want to compensate) (Also it's better to also go by raw measurements rather than strictly cup size, ie how far off the chest does it stick out, how wide and tall each breast is, etc.)Look for a fake chest with a size close to what you want, you're not going to have as much choice as with getting forms, the trade off being seamlessness for having a exposed chest and natural sag, something I have yet to see any stick-on forms allow for. (If anyone knows of any, please let me know.)Look for fake chests that look more realistic rather than they were injected with silicone / borderline spheres slapped onto a chest, something more natural looking will look better when you try to treat them like real boobs. As for where to get them, most of the manufacturers that I know of are in china, so aliexpress is where you're going to have the most luck with a decent range. Amazon / ebay and such will also get a limited selection of the exact same items, so if you don't want to deal with aliexpress, that's always an option.> I'm not even sure what the official name isWhat you're looking for is "Silicon Breast Plate"
As a man, I wish to order women's clothing and other potentially compromising items online throigh Amazon. Would it be obvious to the deliverymen and couriers the nature of the items they are handling, i.e. on the package or invoice, that would give away the fact that I am some kind of crossdressing flaming faggot?
>>10236181Many sellers will send stuff in unmarked packaging, especially if it's continental and there isn't any customs reasons to declare what it is. You can ask if you're worried, and most sellers of crossdressing stuff are aware of this and make a point of having blank packaging, even having the customs label read something hyper generic.Even at that, with anything, the average postman isn't going to give a fuck, they have enough packages they deal with on a daily basis to give any shits about what a particular item has in it. At worst they might think it's a present for a sister or girlfriend or something.
How do you tell if it's worth investing a bunch of time and money into this shit. All well and good spending a year learning makeup but if I come out the other end looking like a fucking idiot I'll rope myself.
>>10236276>if it's worth investing a bunch of time and money into this shitIt's just like any other hobby, anon. Passion and commitment. If you feel you are in a good position to pull off what you have in mind, being it cosplay, j-fashion or just casual crossdressing, and don't mind spending money and time on it, then go for it.
>>10236119Thank you so much. One other question I have is how can I ensure that one is close to my skin tone if it matches the other requirements you listed? Any tips for slimming down your legs? I wanna get into crossplaying characters without big puffy dresses/characters that wear leggings or thigh highs. My legs aren’t fat but they’re much too wide to fit into the feminine silhouette and I’m afraid doing more cardio would just make them wider
So im attempting to make some fake breasts using the guide from technoranma for a rei ayanami cosplay. Do either of these look like a decent start?

>>10236290Don't quote me on this, but I think if you were to contact a seller about getting something from them, they'd be willing to send some swatches beforehand. Otherwise you just have to pick what's closest and just wing it. Plus, with these kinds of products, they're all largely hand made so colors will fluctuate a touch anyway. As an addendum, I said>Look for fake chests that look more realistic rather than they were injected with silicone / borderline spheres slapped onto a chestAt larger sizes with breast plates filled with silicone as opposed to cotton, the "natural droop" happen naturally by shear size and weight. If the photos seem a bit "spherical" that's only because the seller is deliberately forcing them to do that with how they pose them for photos. (For whatever reason is beyond me.)Also, aliexpress for whatever retarded reason is forcing users to sign-in in order to browse. If there's a way around this I'd love to know, but figured I should give a heads up.

>>10237247Fair enough. From an artist POV just keep in mind the shape of a breast. Needs more of a slope imo, depending on what your going for. Otherwise stuff a bra could also work
I'm looking to get a standard maid outfit. Does the, uh, not-having-boobs thing seriously affect how it fits, or do I have to stuff a bra
>>10239243It can yes. Depends on cut, your chest size w/o boobs and your ribcage
Any crossplay pics from comiket this year
>>10239326Thanks, I'll look into those details. Stuff like this makes me wish stores for this existed so I could just try stuff on in person
