It's such a good feel. I don't think she will become a lolita, but her open mind for it just reassures what a precious friend to me. She is willing to try, and "gets it" enough to see why I'm so crazy in this odd alternative fashion style.

I sent a message to a person selling something i want on LM. I sent a second after a couple of days. I don't want to harrass them but I'm just dying for an answer.
Just tell how much it costs to ship, I'm begging!

>they’ll immediately jump in the you’ll never have a bf the way you dress wagon
I mean, at least they're not threatening you for rejecting them. Some men are absolute garbage at taking no for an answer, and telling you that you'd never have a boyfriend because of how you dress is such a silly response it's almost funny. Next time someone tells you that, you should just respond with "Good".
>>
>>10098440
I get worse things too, but you’re right! Actually it’s funny, because a minute ago THEY were the ones showing an interest in me. But honestly I’m feeling old, so whenever some dude tells me I’m never going to have a bf the way I dress it burns deeper into my heart.

Don't do it, Anon. A friend of mine did this, and she unintentionally fell I to a dark magic ritual that slowly made her friend swap bodies with her. Soon, "her" wardrobe became her friend's, and there was no way for her to prove that they had switched places. Eventually, she began questioning her own sanity and believed that she was always her friend.

I know this story because....
I am the friend that took her spot.

Bought a pair of socks off LM. When I took them out, they looked great/no issues. Only a few months later when I was actually coording them, I noticed they were two of the same sock, so the border wouldn't show on one side. Contacted the seller hoping she might be able to work it out, she said she'd sold the same pair to her friend and was certain she had the opposite sock. Since then, it's been radio silence. Asked for updates, she told me to message her friend directly. Message her friend directly, read but no answer.

It was my mistake in the first place for not thoroughly checking them over but also sucks that the seller isn't really doing much and her friend won't answer. Doesn't she also want to swap socks ??

I'm going to die soon and I don't know what to do with all my stuff. I have a huge wardrobe, 3 closets full of lolita clothing, but I'm a lonelita and have no one to pass it onto. My mom still has to deal with the aftermath of my father's death that happened recently... I don't want to burden her with this, she won't be able to handle it. At the same time I don't have the energy anymore to even leave the house, let alone get out of bed most of the time. So I can't even motivate myself to sell just one piece of it. The guilt is (literally) killing me but I can't help it. It feels so horrible.

I really hope you gulls have prepared an emergency plan for such a situation.
>>
>>10099484
How do you know you're going to die soon though?
>>
>>10099492
Well, I have a few months left. That's not a lot of time in my book.
>>
>>10099484
Hi anon.

I feel you. I'm sorry the circumstances surrounding your imminent passing are making your final months challenging. I too lost a parent long ago and suffer from an illness that is likely to see me pass sooner rather than later, though it's not yet set in stone.

You aren't the first to be in this situation, there have been several discussions I can recall since 2013.

The recommendation has often been to write a diary with the dress names, cuts and colourways, the price you paid, the price it retailed for and the average secondhand price. It will make it easier for whoever is left to sell or otherwise distribute them.
>>
>>10099484
Anon, I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I understand that you don't want to stress your mom out, but I'm sure if you and she are at all close she would consider every moment with you precious. Would you be interested in making cleaning out your closet with her a bonding moment? You could ask her to help photograph, list, and ship the dresses out, and tell her all about lolita fashion and what made you choose those prints/designs.

Of course, your relationship with her might not allow something like this, and that's totally understandable. I do second what the other anon said; make a diary of the dresses' info and prices, and where to sell them.
>>
>>10099504
As my mom can't into computers and doesn't know how to sell online, her only solution left would be to donate everything. She just can't let go of anything. I know she'd be hoarding my stuff for the eternity of time like she does with my fathers belongings. This is what worries me.

Still, making a list sounds like a good idea. I will write down which dresses were important to me, so she knows, in case she ever feels ready to part with some of my belongings, which items she can let go and which she can keep in remembrance of me.

>>10099512
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not ready for conversation like this atm. But who knows, when time comes.. I'll keep this in mind.
>>
>>10098654
Oh, you're still here? How sad.
>>
>>10099219
that's fucking adorable, you're a sweetheart
>>
>>10099518
That does make it more difficult. Definitely write your favorites down. I'm sure it will bring your mother joy with the sadness when she looks at them.

I'll be thinking of you. I don't believe in an afterlife, but part of me hopes we somehow cross paths. Along with some of the others we've lost over the years.
>>
>>10099484
Firstly, I'm really sorry anon. I hope you'll be able to fully enjoy your time and let go of the grief a bit.
Personally, I made a .doc for it with a spreadsheet, printed it out and put it in my closet. I put a (stock) picture of the item in it, then the brand, the name and the price and also started a LM account where I slowly put up listing drafts.
And also helps to talk with your mom about it and make your wishes clear.

I’m heavily considering picking up a weekend job on top of my regular FT day job. I’m sick and tired of not being able to buy dresses and other wardrobe items, or having to pass on my dream dresses when they pop up because I can’t afford it. I’m also $1700 in credit card debt too, so that’s really fun. I’d probably hate my life and be really depressed and stressed out, but I’m willing to do anything and sacrifice my mental health for lolita.

>>
>>10100027
Set your priorities straight anon!

You have ridiculous debt, and it's eating you alive. Sacrifice your short term mental health to clear your debt, not for lolita. When you've accomplished that, then you're able to think about spending again. Getting an extra job is a good idea, but all excess earnings should go into clearing your debt. Atone for your past sins and take a step back from your possible shopping addiction. It's good for you to hate your life and be stressed out when paying off your debt. Instead of alleviating that hell by buying new clothes, imagine the freedom and joy you'll get when debt free. Staying in debt is bound to make you an eternal poorfag. Climb out of hell, as arduous as it will be, and join the land of the living once more. The lolita will wait for you.

Chill gullfriend, please. When reading closely you're right, you say self medication and therapy in the same sentence, which does imply it's a problem and not a solution. You're aware that you have a shopping addiction, which is good.

But take note that you started this chain of replies with your sad/frustrated feel of wanting to get a second job to be able to buy more dresses. You were literally voicing your lolita need/greed before mentioning your deep debt problem as a side note. You write that you're ready to suffer for your lolita hobby, not your debt. The way you've expressed yourself paints a picture of someone in denial, just like those annoying ~treat yo'self~ "philosophers" who don't take account for the full picture. We don't know everything about you. By what you've given us to know it seems very feasible to get a second job, but for the opposite reason that you yourself said you're willing to suffer for.

I have a heavy schedule this semester and took a class over winter break and didn't have enough time to work on cosplays for Katuscon, but it looks like everything will be done with time to spare! We also had a bunch of drops in the room so there's actually going to be some room to exist in there. Plus, my tax return came in and I was able to cover rent for March, paying off my credit card for this past statement, putting into savings, and have more for spending at the dealer's. It's a great feeling!!!
>>
is tis /cgl/ or /r9k/?
ANYWAY
I have so many things in the mail and none of them are going to get here in time for katsu.
I wanted to wear a red cardigan I ordered with honeycake cause it's usually a summer coord for me.
Buuut the seller shipped only today despite me ordering/paying for it it last week.

Crack the fuck down on con thots. The shit I'm hearing about prostitutes cosplaying at cons is fucking ridiculous. Even if that's not a big problem, the regular e-thots who encourage bad behavior need to be put on notice. Beyond that, you're the woman, what would you do with generally skimpy costumes? I personally feel like they should be regulated in some manner, but I'm not sure how you could properly regulate skimpy outfits or if that's even viable. All I remember is just when cons went mainstream, the main draw was for guys to be like "YO BRO, CHECK OUT THESE GIRLS WEARING SKIMPY CLOTHES, AND THIS GIRL IS DRESSED UP LIKE YOUR WAIFU HOLY FUCK", and to that extent, the defacto ostracization of predators from the scene to enforce better behavior is great, but I feel like there needs to be airtight policies to hold people accountable, especially men. Finally, I do want to point out that I find sexy costumes inseparable from attracting the wrong kind of attention in the first place.
>>
>>10100635
So you hate women, got it. Let them cosplay whatever the fuck they want, it's not their problem that creeps hit on them and weird them out. It's the fault of those men who can't and don't understand social cues.

because i'm the person who told my friend about lolita and she doesn't want to go alone without knowing anyone. Its her first in person meet.
>>
>>10101098
To be blunt, neither you nor your friend should attend a lolita meetup if you don't own any lolita clothes. You can explain the situation to the host and ask if you may attend wearing whatever jfash you do own, but don't show up wearing whatever you want without making sure it's okay first.
>>
>>10101074

>The same logic applies to any meeting specifically for an interest or hobby
does it? Idk any other hobby meetups that require you to wear or own a certain thing.
>>
>>10101114
For comparison, you can't attend an itabag meetup without an itabag, and attending a cosplay meetup for a specific series while wearing jeans and a t-shirt and insisting on being involved in photos with the cosplayers would get you equally baffled and disapproving reactions.
>>
>>10101098
If your friend is wearing Lolita I'd say it's probably okay as long as you make sure it's ok with the organizers first if you're mostly just going so that your friend isn't meeting a bunch of strangers alone. If neither of you is going to wear Lolita then i would wait until you have any Lolita before going to a meet. Even if they're okay with neither of you wearing Lolita if you do go you'll probably feel pretty out of place.

lolita isn't a physical activity. I've never been to a meet so my idea of what a meet is is basically like a fan club. You can be a fan of, say, basketball, without have ever played it yourself.
>>
>>10101535
It's not a fan club though, lolita meetups are an opportunity for the community members to dress up and get together to have some fun and make new friends based on their common interest in the fashion.
>inb4 "b-but I'm interested in lolita too why can't I attend if I don't wear it??"
Because discussing the fashion with someone who likes it vs. with someone who actively wears and participates in it are two completely different things, and lolita communities are dedicated to the latter.
>>
>>10101535
>>10101540
Sorry, forgot to add: To use your comparison to basketball - Lolita communities (especially local ones, rather than global ones like Rufflechat) are more like clubs for basketball players, not basketball fans. You can join the discussion on Rufflechat as an outsider, but you'll likely be turned away from your local comm unless you're a lolita yourself.
>>
>>10101544
depends on the comm. my comm is super newb friendly and will let anyone come to meets if they are interested in wearing lolita and wears a semblance of a coord. i wish it were stricter but then i guess there'd only be like 4 people at meets. gotta love small towns.
>>
>>10101540
>Because discussing the fashion with someone who likes it vs. with someone who actively wears and participates in it are two completely different things

in what way?
>>
>>10101554
I know, that's why I said "likely" instead of "definitely".

>>10101555
There are certain things like purchases, frustrations, experiences, thoughts and feelings and even terminology that are directly tied to the fashion and to wearing the fashion that people who don't actively wear it won't understand, and it's much easier to talk about these things with someone who understands them from personal experience.
If we take terminology for example, it might not seem like such a big deal if you don't immediately understand the meaning behind a sentence like "I wanted to wear my AP OP with my SS TPS today, but my BTSSB OTKs are at my boyfriend's house", but understanding small and seemingly insignificant things like terminology right off the bat can be the difference between conversations that flow well and having to constantly stop and explain yourself to the person you're talking to.
>>
>>10101564
>There are certain things like purchases, frustrations, experiences, thoughts and feelings and even terminology

but I have all of that. I've bought lolita, had frustrations (they sent me the wrong size and ran out of the larger size I need, thus why I don't own any right now), know all the terminology. You don't have to currently wear lolita to know/experience all that.
>>
>>10101571
Have randos on the street commented on your frilly clothes in a way that made you happy/sad/scared? Have you felt joy from small silly things like seeing how perfectly your dress poofs out with the right petticoat, or how surprisingly nicely your whites match? Have you ever felt satisfaction when you found that one piece that's perfect for a coord you had in mind, or felt frustrated when you couldn't find one so you asked someone at a meetup for their advice or opinion, and they actually offered something helpful?
It's difficult to explain and summarize why simply knowing about the fashion vs. actively wearing it are completely different things, especially in one comment on an Indonesian basket weaving forum. Your one failed experience buying the clothes is a start, but it doesn't make you a lolita, nor does it make you knowledgeable about it.
>>
>>10101579
I know more about and have more lolita related stories/experiences than my friend who just bought her first dress a few months ago and only wore it once, and only even knows what lolita is because of me.
idk, just weird to act like unless someone owns a dress, then they can't possibly have anything of value to add.
>>
>>10101587
As another anon mentioned, some comms do accept newbies and other people who are interested in the fashion but don't actively wear it, as long as their interest is genuine. You can hit up your local comm and see if they accept you if you haven't yet; they might, and they might even allow you to attend their meetups before you have your first coord because some comms do that. But as was also mentioned before, some comms are more exclusive and allow only established lolitas to join and strictly enforce their dress code for meet ups, and you can sit here and argue all day about how you totally know more about the fashion than your friend so the fact you don't wear lolita doesn't matter, but it's not going to change anything in reality.

Is it too much to ask for people into this shit not to be so goddamn immature?

Wearing the fashion and the experience that comes with it is the activity. By your basketball analogy, sure you can be in a fan club without playing the game but you can’t expect to make the team can you?

By your logic you can start a lolita ‘fan club’ to watch everyone else wear the fashion but it still doesn’t a lolita make. Just because you know slightly more than your friend who knows literally nothing doesn’t give you the lived experience that exclusive communities run for established lolitas require.

If you’re truly interested in joining the subculture start by actually wearing the fashion instead of expecting your totally not lolita specific struggles of buying clothes online to equate to you actually participating in a fashion based subculture that requires nothing from you but to actually wear the fashion and know what you’re doing.

Big salt incoming, I'm insanely jealous of Lolitas with lots of disposable income who build fairly complete wardrobes in a short space of time.

I started lolita in my mid teens, we were a bit poor at home but alright, and my heart would ache seeing people buy so many things so quickly, especially back in 2009/10 when it was even tougher to find good deals online. I'd watch posts by people big wardrobe's like herajika, lunie etc and my heart would sink.

I'm in a better financial situation now and I have a stable income and enough to build my wardrobe properly, but I've been working on it for almost ten years at this point, because I'd usually need to sell something to afford something new before my current job.

Even now, progress is so slow. I just saw an Instagram story if someone who built what looks like a complete and large wardrobe in roughly two years, and I feel frustrated.

Despite this salt, I don't begrudge any rich lolitas what they have. I just admire and hope I can find all my DDs someday.
>>
>>10101716
I'm one of those lolitas (albeit it's more like 6 years). I can imagine it sucks having to space it all out and budget and being unable to afford what you want, when you want it.

If it helps I find those who have to spend their money carefully make better choices and usually have a better idea of how to coord pieces multiple ways and are more conscious of how complete and polished their look is. Furthermore the lolitas in this position in my local are some of the best dressed and kindest.

I was a lone lolita forever and had been trying to keep my wardrobe under wraps to avoid being "that girl" and avoid these exact feelings and circumstances, but by accident a few people ran into a private wardrobe post of mine and I have been worrying a bit about whether it made anyone feel uncomfortable. If it did, they haven't shown it. I'm blessed to be surrounded by graceful girls, I guess.

>>
>>10102047
Yep, it's a shitty position to be in.

Mental health comes first. The girls who throw themselves at you at your lowest are wanting to "fix" you and will vanish from your life when they feel they've done their part. The girls that don't realize how fucked up you are right now will after a while and also leave. The girls who are most likely to be accepting will be battling their own demons (codependency is unhealthy) or will have battled them in the past (and that goes one of two ways; she will either expect you to get over it like she did or she'll actually help - flip a coin). Being in a better mental state means you can give more to a person and to a relationship and will put you in a better position to find someone you genuinely love, rather than a temporary crutch.

Next, it sounds like your friends are shifting up a bit. You have two options here and neither have to involve ditching them, unless they are being utter cunts to you. In which case, gtfo. Either

> Start going to nerdier hangouts and events and make new friends, even joining local social media groups and doing the smaller stuff/online interaction if you're a bit reserved

> be open to liking normie things and let yourself enjoy it - shit's hard when weeb is your identity, but it can be and has been done

Finally, raves are a shit place to meet a girlfriend. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but the environment is more conducive to "she's hot and I wanna fuck her" than "she's cool and I want to spend time with her" because it's dark, loud and people are drunk. I reckon your best shot is at aforementioned smaller events. Then you can rave together.

Good luck anon. It's a dark place, but there's a way out. Be kind to yourself.

Thanks for the well thought reply anon. The issue I get is that my formerly nerd friends are still nerds, and are good dudes still. They just have "better game", like they know how to flirt better. One of the friends was in the same boat but he got a girlfriend from some party several years back, and I think it really improved his "game". We all look like turbo-normies, and we're not full-on autism.

I never learned how to flirt because in high school I was too scared to actually ask girls out in case they thought I was weird and cut me off (as I was friends with most girls in my class which led me to fearing being cut). So the situation ended up was, I would be really good friends with several girls that I would like to date, but I would never ask them out, because I was really good friends with them. At the same time, I wouldn't want to date someone I couldn't be really good friends with (ex. similar hobbies). This is the fun little catch-22 that kills me.

But yeah though. I don't know how to cross the "friends to flirting" line delicately, and I think that may be my issue. I'll look into the nerdier hangouts thing, though.

(also I realize this isn't really a seagull-related feel, so, "FUCK invisible zippers, little shits are a massive bitch" to make it relevant)

Maybe it's because you ARE weird? 100% of the time if you're weird, people know you're weird but are too scared to tell you because they're afraid of what the weird kid would do. At best they'd just be annoying, and at worst, lives would actually be taken.
>>
>>10102214
I wish m8, I was never that weird, I had social circles and all that jazz. You're the weird kid if you don't know who the weird kid is, and I knew the weird kid. Unless, I mean, it's a massive conspiracy theory and literally everyone I knew was in on it.

The thing that happened was me asking out this one girl I was super close with, only for her to decline and abruptly cut our friendship over just that. That kind of.... made me fear losing my other girl friends, and created this situation.
>>
>>10102225

The thing is, these days the guys have no say or choice in the matter. It'll always be a no, for fear that you'll fucking murder or rape them.
So you just have to accept that and let them come to you, should they decide to face that risk and understand that you could very well hurt them and somehow act like there's something worth it underneath it all.

Tying this back into cosplay and /cgl/ though, that's why people go to cons to meet others who share the same interests. But even then, just know that you have no choice in the matter there either, especially considering how fucking autistic men are. They're why cosplay is not consent signs are up all over the place.
>>
>>10102225
Sounds like you have some avoidant/abandonment issues? That's the first thing I'd maybe work on. The ability to let it go is freeing. When you don't value yourself, it's extra difficult to lose someone.

Don't listen to the other anons, you're not doomed. Just get out more to those little events. Brush up on your conversational skills and relaxing in the company of others. Don't push if you encounter resistance and get yourself banned. Not saying you're a complete autist, but a lot of men will sort of insert themselves into every conversation and not take a hint, especially in nerdy settings (the nightmare that was the PAX feedback panel in 2017 haunts me to this day).

Work on you. Give yourself a chance. The rest will usually come into place thereafter.

It isn't always a no, especially if you already know each other. If you're a dude who isn't a creep or a jerk, has a decent grasp of social skills and hygiene, and has some things in common with the object of your affections, odds are good that she'll give you a chance if she's interested.

And honestly? if you fit the above criteria you're in good shape, especially around other nerds. Female nerds know just how terrible male nerds can be, and we're always happy to meet a sane one.

>invisible zippers
Stitch them backwards to the right side and make sure the groove in the foot you’re using is a good match for the plastic part of that particular zip. You can tell because you can just sew a straight line and they’ll slide through quick and smoothly with a pin or 2 instead of you having to pull them into place to keep it straight. It’ll also be much easier to get your stitchline in really close, almost under the plastic. I didn’t notice this until I tried to use a different brand of zip where the plastic was wider and it flip flopped all over the place because it wouldn’t stay in the groove and slide through smoothly and I couldn’t get the stitchline in close enough where it was truly invisible.

Also if you’re thinking of using the one sided feet, don’t. Sorry for OT.

I'd like to do more than simply be able to talk via text/Skype or whatnot, visiting maybe once a month doesn't seem like enough.
In my experience people talk and act much differently online or via text than they do in person as well.

It's just not the same.
It wasn't a long relationship but I was in a year long LDR and I don't think I want to do it again, ever.

how do you confront a lolita about their personal issues?

this lolita has warning lights blinking and someone should step in and talk to them. the person is not getting it

I'm at a weird stage. Lolita is so far from where I need to be right now, but it was the one last remaining hobby I had all to myself.
I can't really deal with the idea of leaving the fashion, but can I really say I was ever really in it that deep in the first place?
Everything seems to make me need to move on, but I don't want to.

I'm mildly surprised the Lor and Tyler threads haven't been taken down for 'vendetta' like in the past. Is it because /cgl/ rule 2 technically only mentions cosplayers? Well it doesn't bother me enough to take it to /qa/, but it really strikes me as strange after we had that overly strict janny.
>>
>>10102897
Perhaps it's due to their prominence in the community and the fact that neither thread is doing anything truly malicious? Nobody's posting all their pictures to make fun of, Anons are both for and against each creator, there's civil discussion about their content going on and... Fuck, maybe the jannies also want some tea?

Do you have any red at all in your wardrobe? Any pink? Valentine's Day coords don't have to have a cutesy heart or chocolate printed main piece, a coord that includes red, pink or both works just fine in a pinch.

Ugh I know that feeling anon. I recently got a new dress and I already had in my head how I was going to coord it with what I already have but then when it came in I could not find my headdress or socks anywhere so I had to make do with other accessories. It still looks good but feels just not good enough for me. Thankfully the stuff I lost wasn't expensive so I can just replace them but the replacements probably won't come in time for when I want to wear it.

>>
>>10104531
>i know i’m too old to cosplay
Already the wrong mindset, to be honest. There's no age limit on cosplay as a whole, you just need to be mindful of the characters you choose. And don't push your wife into it, I know you're eager and excited but give her time and an opportunity to decide for herself.
Has she ever expressed willingness to attend a con with you? You could go together sans cosplay just so she can experience it, and if you're going to more than one day of the con, you can bring a cosplay for yourself and wear it, whether she joins you in her own casual clothes or not. See how she feels afterwards, she might have fun and want to try cosplaying herself, or not, but either way see it as a way to introduce her to one of your interests with no guarantee she'll actually enjoy it herself.
>>
>>10104536

i can try that. personally i can’t imagine going to a con without cosplay and having the same amount of fun.
she said she is willing to try anything, which is 100% true. i might be able to take her to a con in July so she has time to decide.
>>
>>10104545
It's definitely a different experience but if she tags along with you while you're in cosplay, she might become curious enough to try it herself. But again, no pressure, just openly invite her to experience something that you love, and if she decides it's not for her, accept it.
Whatever happens, I hope you have fun and be happy!

Happy Valentine's Day, /cgl/. What are you planning to do with your bf/gf?
>>
>>10105098
>bf/gf
>>
Which one of you is this?
https://youtu.be/tPxNVgO6weo
>>
>>10105098
I would have had a date night with boardgames, good food and dressing up in a coord I planned for the occasion. Sadly my bf got sick, and I can't risk contracting a cold due to work right now. So after work I baked some chocolate muffins, biked over to his house and delivered them. It was a brief but sweet moment to see his precious face...

On the bright side I already took pictures of my valentine's coord when I was planning and trying it on. Now I can post it despite not actually wearing it for the occasion.
>>
>>10105098
My bf had an exam but I had the day off so I spent all day cleaning the house and doing other chores, only to find out that my bf invited his annoying friend (who hates lolita and will "jokingly" insult me whenever he sees me wearing or displaying it) over for dinner. I think he forgot that it's valentines day. His mom sent us chocolate hearts though, which I'll probably end up eating by myself.

Damn son. We were burning through these threads like nobody's business last month, what happened?
>>
>>10105156
The janitor's purges of posts also sent out warnings to remind us all that our feels posts have to be /cgl/ related. Therefore we've cut down on detailing threads with off topic discussions. The few who have started have been pruned, lowering the post count and keeping the thread up longer.

But that's just my take on it. How's your gym progress going? Are you doing it for cosplay or lolita?
>>
>>10105098
Celebrated it early yesterday with my boyfriend, he made a huge dinner and we took it to the park where we set out a blanket and had a picnic together. We exchanged candy and cards, it was cute and I was able to wear a valentine's day coord, which made me feel super festive. Today's going to be a busy day for the both of us, so I'm happy we did something special yesterday while we had time together
>>
>>10105164
Yeah, jannies were sperging out hard the last time I checked the threads. Oh well
>How's your gym progress going? Are you doing it for cosplay or lolita?
I'm more doing it for myself (I have two weddings to go to this year too) but cosplay will be what benefits from it most eventually. I've gone from hitting a peak of 280lbs last month right after Christmas to hitting the 250s as of last weekend. Gym three times a week after work along with 18 hour fasts (breakfast and lunch under 1000 calories, no dinner or snacks until breakfast the following day) which I do on workdays. Usually I just have one meal in the afternoon on weekends and leave it at that because I usually just sit around in my free time playing videogames/listening to music when I'm not working. I feel much better in myself and my confidence has definitely seen an improvement. Still have a long way to go though!
>>

I have work...Hopefully my gf cuddles me tonight, we will see lego movie 2 tomorrow, I'm going to wear a nice coordinate! I hope you guys have a great v-day.

well lads, valentine's day is officially over in CST. No gf, same as every year. Overall pretty good though, started off the day playing D&D with four of my friends, then went out for a little lunch to talk some more. Got home, relaxed, a lil bit of 4chan and some tea. Went to check on a family friend's cat while she's gone and got some cat snuggles for my trouble. Dad was pretty happy today, so that's always good (after two strokes when I was young, he has brain damage and relatively little impulse control, coupled with deep insecurity, he's quite prone to taking everything as an attack and blowing up in anger over everything. According to his old friends, he's quite different. They tell me that in a way, I never really got to know my dad, just a damaged husk.) Ma got home from work, gave her a big hug and talked a bit. Had plenty of time to practice guitar while watching some tv. After dinner, my ma and I sat on the couch and finished a movie we had started a few days prior. Afterwards pops came up to watch Colbert, and when they got tired, I tucked them in and said good night. That brings us to now. Tomorrow if I don't hear back from that library job I applied for, it'll be time to apply at the dollar general just to have something to do. Can't keep being a 20yr old neet. Gotta do something and I'm still saving up for a car. Had a big setback after the restaurant I worked at just stopped giving me shifts. I wasn't fired, the manager just didn't give me a single working hour for 3+ weeks. None of that matters now though.
Time to move on. Thanks for reading my blog-post, seagulls

Well I guess you can say that I tried, I asked out a girl that I knew for a while. She told me that she is a lesbian, which I never knew, we had a good laugh did some school work in the library, then left. So me and a few friends sat down and played some games, they wanted to know what was the result, as they gave me so advice on how not to be too awkward. I told them, one of them looked at me oddly and said that he just saw her kissing some guy in the parking lot 45 minutes ago. Honestly it really hit me hard, I am not sure what to do, I don't want to confront her, but I really wish that she was honest with me, but at least I tried
>>
>>10105747
try not to feel too bad, anon. it really says a lot about the person she is and you dodged a thot bullet. i'm sorry she is a terrible person.

the fact that you were open and honest and made an effort despite your perceived awkwardness means there is hope for you, just use this as a learning experience.
>>
>>10105747
She possibly got a “nice guy” vibe from you so it makes sense (to her) to tell you she’s a lesbian rather than just flat out reject you. It’s not 100% effective but whenever I tell creeps I’m a lesbian they usually just back off.

Or she just felt bad and thought a lie would ease the blow a bit, without really thinking it through. It sucks, but all you can really do is respect her “lesbianism”.
>>
>>10105331

>>10105366

Seconding that she probably got a vibe. I am a lesbian but I have a lot of friends who are bi girls who say this when they either don’t want hurt your feelings or they get a vibe that you’ll keep pushing it and they don’t wanna have to constantly cancel things or let you down easy when they just aren’t interested at all.

Sorry dude, but the joke is on her because more often than not saying you’re a lesbian doesn’t stop the actually creepy dudes at all. The only thing you can really do is just respect her rejection otherwise she will be thoroughly creeped out if you confront her on it or even mention that you heard she was with a guy.

Speaking from experience it’s feels really unsettling to be questioned/ doubted by a guy who I’ve told I was a lesbian after being asked out by. Even if she isn’t one she probably saw it as a safe exit.

>kinda loudly replied back to them in a sassy way indirectly
>bf gets mad at me for going down to their level

I had such an awesome date but my insecurities got the best of me. Any advice to control my anxiety and shit when going out dressed up?

HELP! I paid for express delivery, which landed me a UPS shipment. It was sent yesterday, Thursday, and the estimated delivery time is TUESDAY AFTERNOON. I need to have it Tuesday MORNING at the latest! Are they fucking kidding me? Is this supposed to be express??

It's a delivery within Europe, so I really don't see why it has to take five days, weekend included. Or is it a generous estimate since customs might want to fondle my goods? Can the estimated shipping time become a little earlier, even if it's just by some hours? Am I fucked?

Nervous daily lolita here: If you're out with your bf or anyone else, engage them instead of whoever is bothering you. If you take this scenario as an example: Instead of responding to the teens, you could have ignored them (even if it still bothered you inside, which is understandable) and talked to your bf about the movie you just watched. You could have also continued to do so even if the teens tried to get your attention to rile you up; unless they physically attack you, which is not okay no matter the situation, you're free to stubbornly ignore them no matter what they say or yell at you, and they'd just make themselves look like assholes eventually.
When it comes to going out on your own, personally I just listen to music in earphones to distract myself, that's usually enough for people to leave me alone, and if someone is being rude to me I just use it as an excuse to pretend I didn't hear them. If you do this, just make sure to keep the volume down so you don't hurt your eardrums and you're still aware of your surroundings to a degree.
Do your best, anon!

>relying on express delivery
>in europe
HAHAHA. I had SAL packages that arrives faster than express because customs and german post don't give a fuck about how fast you need it or how much you paid. Expect that package to stay in customs for 2 weeks.

WHERE ARE THE NEW RELEASES VM YOU'VE HAD A MONTH
>>
>saw dream dress has just appeared on LM
>technically have the money, but would have to be frugal for the rest of the month
>fighting every urge in my being throughout the day to impulsively buy it

I could most likely manage... but I need to be more fiscally responsible, I’m getting married this year and my wardrobe is already taking a hit.

Went on my valentine's date in lolita. Good feel! My date thought I looked cute.
>>
>>10105956
doubleposting to say, it's hard to date when you have been gaslighted into believing you're crazy, which in turn drives you crazy, which pushes people away. I really like this person and they are actually normal, so here's hoping this goes well.
>>
I used to be extremely shy and embarrassed when people looked at me weird when I wore lolita out, but now I just really love staring them down. I love it when they want to sneakily be like "wtf look" to the person they're with but I've already noticed and I'm following them with my eyes. I love how they kinda stop awkwardly unsure of what to do because they expected me to look away and get flustered. I love it when i see someone who's passing me is gonna do a double take and I turn around with a huge shit-eating grin on my face and just stare until they hobble away awkwardly. Man, just thinking about embarrassing rude unbehaved normies has given me a huge smile!

if it's the DD get it before it vanishes..
>>
>>10105977
Same, anon. I get such a rush when I notice someone staring, and I look right into their eyes until they look away, unsure of what to do.
>>
>>10105944
I know anons will enable you know and scream "buy it!!" but it would actually be surprising to see someone financially responsible once in a while. It will always pop up again and most likely feel better too when you have enough spare money for it.
>>
>>10105944
Don’t you have any other dresses you might be willing to sell to make up the cash? If it’s a DD that’s hard to come by it’s probably worth getting but you have to make the money for it somewhere. All lolitas should build a contingency for dream dresses anyway so stuff like this doesn’t happen.

Go to the doctor now if it's on your face, that shit can leave you blind if it gets to close to your eyes

Fuck me dead, it's in Germany right now. Well, at least it better be leaving soon, right?

Happy weekend to all you gulls who aren't suffering postal hell like me.
>>
>>10106114
Yeah, I know. This is my third outbreak in my adult life. Thankfully I'm already almost totally blind on the right side, so it doesn't worry me too much, but I'll be going anyway to get on some serious antivirals.
>>
>>10105998
People are so fucking stupid thinking they're sneaky. Obviously I'm hyper aware of everyone around me when I'm dressed like this. You must be literally braindead to think people won't notice you're staring or talking about them in public.
>>
>>10106088
That’s what I’m thinking. I know it will pop up again in a few months (knock on wood) and my backup wardrobe budget is no longer a priority because I’m using every area of non-necessary savings into my education and wedding this spring.

RIP, MM will have to wait. I hope it goes to a good home.

how ugly is /cgl/? from the sound of it, being a lolita who doesn't look like a bridge troll makes life so much easier.
