Maka Thread #92Maka Maka Maka time. Time to sit back and unwind Previous thread >>3489181
Has anyone ever figured out what year Maka would have been born in? I guess one way is you could assume that the manga took place in the year that it started being published in, which would make her born in like the early 90s? Or late 80s even?
>>3514732Do we even know the approximate time the series takes place in? I think they used some wireless earpieces once... but was there a single cell phone ever shown?
>>3514732>>3514858Manga was published Jun 24, 2003 so if we assume that's where it all takes place and Maka is 13 at the beginning then she'd be born in 1990 yea.
>>3514858I don't remember a cell phone, just the writing on the mirrors. There were a couple of times when it seemed like there could have been a couple of months between arcs where they were in school or training and healing. I would argue that it must have been over a year, because there was deep snow shown in both the battle for brew and the scene where they go to Moscow. Alaskan winters are long but the fact that they were able to approach the island by boat makes me think that it was fall, because getting from a boat to something that's surrounded by ice is dicey, the outsides are always rotten. Moscow has long winters but I think there's maybe 3 months that the manga arc could've taken place in, 5 max. Because they were really bundled up. >>3514888Makes sense. I didn't remember that she was 13 at the beginning.
>>3514858>>3515097Well I guess I misread your question. I assumed that it was more or less contemporary when it started being written.
Fresh Maka. Since you're talking about time here what do you think how long it took after Sid's death to him becoming a zombie?
>>3516504Well he turned blue but didn't rot. So it couldn't be that long.
>>3518570So a week at the least was how long till he became a zombie?
>>3518572You can turn blue pretty fast. I've seen people who were blue and not even dead yet.
>>3519341So Sid couldn't have been dead for too long then. I guess this does raise the question just how long Stein was working on his zombie projection to bring Sid back to life without too much delay.
What exactly is in the "perfect edition" that's coming out?
An older picture.

>>3520735It's just the manga reprinted on larger/higher quality paper, with a few of the old color spreads peppered in here and there. Nothing too special. Still planning on buying them all once they come out, if only in the hopes that enough people doing so will show the ip holders there's still interest in the series.
