What's a fungus?
>>2910193Now this I can get behind
3.94 MB JPGAny idea what these could be? I'll be posting more pics in the thread. >collected several meters from an Eastern White Pine in a suburban area in Southern NJ, USA>temperatures recently have probably averaged around 0 to 5 degrees C (not unusual for January)Kind of odd, no? I'm new to this so perhaps I'm wrong, but don't mushrooms tend to be much less abundant out of season? Is this one of the "winter mushrooms"?
Found in a fallen palm tree in Manatee County FL
>>2910222What's up with your skin dude
>>2910298I often pick at my cuticles absentmindedly. Nervous habit.
>>2910304I mean this in the kindest way possible: it looks fucking horrific. For your own sake, take up another nervous habit, liking touching your face or checking the time or something.
discord is for faggotssaged and hidden
Seen in northern delaware. I can’t seem to find any matching photos online to identify them with.
I have 2 patches in my yard that get morels every year, but not many. Any tips on how to hopefully get more to come up this year?
>>2910545Is this at Blackiston wildlife preserve?
Everyday.Every day I will post Dog Vomit Fungus until you want one.
Some type of stinkhorn
Don't let it reach page ten
>>2914077The mushroom in the top left corner is actually an aged lactarius indigo
Anyone cultivating for medicinal purposes?
>>2910193>I have severe anxiety and was deemed unfit to work so I have to go to a day centre for people ages 18-30>Been going for maybe 9 months>One of the compulsory courses we have to take is drug and alcohol>Literally about half the class are former drug addicts>The guy who is taking the class plays alot of golf in his free time>He pretty much just casually told us that the golf course he plays on is full of hallucination mushrooms I know that the mushrooms aren't harming anyone when they are just sitting there, but shouldn't somebody do something?
>>2914879Lol what? What would anybody do about it? And more than likely, he has them seriously misidentified. The only ones that would be growing in grass at a golf course are Psilocybe semilanceata, and a few Panaeolus. Both are very difficult to identify, and beginners make mistakes all the time, since there are way way more lookalikes than actual psychoactive species.
>>2914894The guy is actually a trained horticulturalist, he explained what type they were to me but I forget. I think it's just because they are sitting there and as you say people wouldn't know what they were.
>>2914879Just curious, but do you think people should do something if they see deathly poisonous mushrooms? Removing them as to prevent any accidental deaths seems more reasonable than one to prevent people from tripping, no?
I got some pics
Saw a deathcap for the first time the other day
>>2915667Won't really do anything. There are far more deadly mushrooms than people to pick them, and they just fruit again. If anything, you are just going to serve to spread their spores further than if you had left them.I think a better option is to just let people know they shouldn't be dipshits and eat unidentified mushrooms.>>2916139Where are you at? It's been a really prolific year for them in the western US.
>>2916158This is in alameda in the SF bay area
>>2916158I'll admit it was a loaded question. I was trying gain some insight into >>2914879 's reasoning why "someone should do something" more than the method of the "something" to be done.
Don't let the thread hit page 10
>>2917164Should have provided more information. Found on 01-02-19 Gulf Coast of Florida. I found some older specimens that had a much more mucous-like (must be a fancy word for this) annulus and was much closer to the base of the stipe.
