OH LAWD HE COMING
>>
how to capture a stray cat?
>>
>>2886434
Give it food. If it comes back let it inside, but let it go when it's ready.
If it keeps coming back you have a cat.
>>
Anyone who got a new cat while already having one, did your old cat feel betrayed or sad?
>>
post /comfy/ kots
>>
>>2886445
Mine was super pissed for like 2 weeks but finally accepted the newcomer and became friends. As they got older they staked out opposite ends of the house and mostly avoided each other in an amicable "good fences make good neighbors" sort of way. Occasionally you'd catch them sleeping in the same chair together or grooming each other or both would get in bed with me for an hour or two.
>>

>>
/nopets/ here. How do I teach a new adult cat the house rules? Like where to sleep and do business, and what's okay to mess with or not mess with.
I have an 8-5 and don't want the cat eating my stuff or scratching up all my furniture and chewing on my many cables. Can I teach it what's what in a weekend, and are cats usually alright if left alone that long?
>>
>>2886502
A lot of adult cats, especially strays are set in their ways. You’re better off adopting a shelter cat that was given up by its owner. That’s what I’m planning to atleast.
>>
>>2886504
Does a shelter cat imply it's not an adult? What age range should I go for, and does the cat's sex matter for behavior?
>>
Just adopted a shelter cat, 1 year old. Will this little shit ever calm down? He is ALWAYS walking around jumping on things/me. I had to keep him outside of my bedroom because he wouldn't stop trying to lick me and bite my fingers while I was trying to sleep. It's a relief when he just sits in one spot for a minute or two but it's rare.

>>
>>2886507
No, I meant a cat that’s already an adult yet has lived with humans all its life, so they know where to pee and poop and stuff.

>>2886549
Every time it does something you don’t like, spray it with water. I suggest you get an empty spray bottle, fill it with water and when the cat does something you don’t like, spray it. It’ll teach the cat not to do bad shit or it’ll get the bottle. I suggest you discipline your cat as soon as possible, if you let it walk over you his behavior will only get worse.
>>
>>2886648
Just to add on, don’t every hit the cat or scare it on purpose, cats naturally are very anxious and if it isn’t secure in its environment it’ll act out in ways such as spraying and violence. Also, if you find hes very excitable or filled with energy, try to play with him so he tires out.

Seems like it is a shitty shelter. Young cats need several hours of playtime a day and if they have no cat bro to fight with, that's the owners job. They should have warned you and either given you a old one or two if you don't have enough time for the poor guy.

>>2886648
But playing is a basic need, healthy and normal. If you don't offer it the amount of playtime it needs and discipline it for trying to play, that'd be like disciplining it for pissing on the floor while not providing a litterbox.
>>
>>2886693
would pet lovingly and call the next morning
>>
>>2886502
>>2886504
You can teach an old cat. As far as litter goes, make sure the litter box is in a good spot and the cat knows where it is. Reward the cat when they use it. Cats will naturally use it because it’s the most convenient spot to hide their poop. Peeing is another deal, but same concept. If it’s territorial pissing, make sure the cat is fixed.

Outside of that, cat behavior influencing all falls into the same process. Make the behavior you want to see the easiest and most enjoyable, while make the behavior you don’t want to see as inconvenient and unenjoyable as possible. Wire chewing, for example, rub hot sauce all over the wires, they will learn quickly to avoid that. Scratching, you can double sided tape, cats do not like sticky things. Or you could try feliway spray. Cats tend to avoid peeing or scratching stuff that has feliway.

Cats are notoriously hard to train at any age. It takes a great amount of consistency in order to enforce some behaviors, but cats can be trained with the right strategies and lots and lots of patience

Don't use spray bottles! Cats are in general dumb as fuck, they cannot connect you spraying them with misbehaviour. Likely scenario is that the cat will think you as an asshole, fear you and keep doing the stuff they're not supposed to do.

To me it just sounds like you don't play with your cat enough/tire him out before going to bed. It's not anything weird for a cat that young to be very active, he will calm down with age. If you don't have time to play with him, maybe try one of those battery powered toys for him to play with?

>This thread: get 2 cats so they have each other to play with
>Last thread: cats get stressed from sharing territory, only have 1 cat

What is the truth
>>
>>2887102
I think it's important to have more than one cat if they are kittens. My kitten turned into a weirdo by being raised alone. I got another kitten and the older cat and the kitten are getting along nicely enough. They play around and sit near each other sometimes, though I think the kitten is stressing the older one out too.
>>
>>2887102
Both. Depends on the personalities of the cat(s) involved and as >>2887123 said, age plays a part too.
>>
>>2887102
Depends on the cat in my opinion. I have two cats. One is young and full of energy and really needs someone to play with all day. My other cat is a couple years older than him and just wants to be by herself and sleep. He terrorizes her. I regret getting a second cat, I’m hoping it will get better when he gets older.

Much less to do with territory, much more to do with energy levels, which can be hard to gage at a shelter. If your cat seems happy, probably don’t need to get a second cat. However two cats will get along provided they know how to take a hint when not to play and are introduced properly

I'm catsitting my friend's cat, Paul (pic related), and he hardly seems to drink from his bowl. There's a dripping faucet he could drink from, and even a cup of water i saw him dip his paw in and drink a little bit once. He's eating lots, pooping, and moving around normally. I'm a little paranoid, what should I keep an eye out for? I don't want him to get dehydrated
>>
>>2887321
Cats get most of their water from the food they eat, if he is eating kibble, then make sure his water dish is clean and has no strong odor coming from it. He will drink when he is thirsty

So got a 7 week old kitten. I grew up around cats and raised a few kittens when I was younger but it's been awhile. She uses the litter pan when I place her in it but has only seemed to actively seek it out once to poop. She was weaned/seperated from her mother early out of necessity so I'm having to teach her the litter pan myself. Any tips on getting her to seek it out instead of waiting for her to cry and placing her in it? Will she just pick it up as I keep doing this?
>>
>>2887086
Ok apparently some people use noisemakers (pennies in a can) to deter their cats instead of spray. Actually he seems to have calmed down a little in the past day. I've had him four days total so he's still getting used to my home.

>>2887102
When I was at the shelter they mentioned some cats need to be the only cat in the home and don't get along with others.

Fucking hell my cats have not been on good terms but i literally can't let them coexist in the same spaces anymore. >>
>>2887312
I don't think you can do much to stop him bothering you when you sleep other than playing with him during the day. It sucks, but you have to patient, he'll come around eventually and realize nights are not playtime. I had a similar experience with a family cat, providing enough toys and entertainment was the important factor.

Putting sticky tape on stuff you don't want the cat to touch works pretty well. I've also seen devices with motion detectors that give a puff of air when cat gets near them, but I guess those might be expensive. The point is that the cat should associate places they're not supposed to be = bad, not you = bad.

Is it normal for a cat to enjoy being held tightly and cradled like a baby?
>>
>>2887958
No, in the sense that the majority of cats, especially ones that don't know / aren't comfortable with you, won't let you do that, but some cats do enjoy it.

Be aware that that position can cause back pain in older cats, and that by cradling the cat like that you're opening yourself up to all four claws plus the mouth, so only do that with a cat you trust and in circumstances where the cat is unlikely to be distracted or want to leave in a hurry.
>>
>>2887958
Depends on the cat, all have different personalities. One of my cats hates to be held, she will just complain if I pick her up, although she loves laps. My other cat doesn't mind being held, but if I pick him up, he will always go to my shoulders.
>>
>>2887958
Like others said, some can, but in most cases they're likely just tolerating it.

In my experience cats that are being moved like to feel like they have firm footing, I usually hold cats by pulling them up from the chest, putting my arm under their back legs so they don't kick, and then slide my arm under their front paws so I'm holding them to my chest but both front and back legs are supported.

I started to almost hate my cat a few days after getting her.
She was born outside to a stray mom and we got her with about 4 or five months. Even though my grandparents lived with us and were home in the morning and we kids took turns playing with her in the afternoon, the amount of energy this little fuck had was incredible. Since I wanted a pet she was my responsibility and 'slept' in my room. Only she didn't sleep much at all, instead woke me two or three times a night and only calmed down again after 15 minutes chasing up and down the stairs.
So, even though they told us to keep her inside for at least a month I let her outside after only a week and thank god that was exciting enough to make her sleep at night.
So if that's an option in your neighbourhood, I'd consider it.

Turbocat also ate 400g a day back then, now she's only needs half of that.

Hello I'm a dog owner who got a 10 week old cat. I've got a rottweiler and a doberman, they've never seen a cat before. Wife is a dog trainer so we have been slowly teaching the dogs to accept the cats existence. Very slowly. It's been paying off, they have begun to accept him as a friend not a toy. The dogs aren't allowed to roam the house without one of us keeping an eye on it, so they are generally well behaved. The cat however, likes to bolt out of the room and scream whichs sets off their prey drive. Unsure of whether we should put up the dogs in their kennel or the cat, we have tried keeping the cat mostly confined to a room where we visit him. He has a tv, toys, scratching post, we play with him 3 times a day minimum (I work from home so I play with him more), he eats 3x a day, has a pair of litter boxes I clean every night.

The issue is, now he screams non stop. If I flush the toilet, he screams across the house. If I step past his door he screams. He screams long into the night before finally sleeping, and then wakes up to scream some more. I paid the vet $80 bucks for him to say he's healthy and ok and probably misses his family, but at this rate my wife is going to probably have him rehomed. What could I do to calm him down?
>>
>>2889127
Adding to this, he eats soulistic wet cat food, as the two of us do not like to feed the animals dry food. He gobbles it down every day, that's the only time he's shut up aside from play and being held
>>
>>2889130
Probably just stressed out around dogs. Might have had a bad experience or is just scared. Might be good to try feeding the cat next to the dogs, start to associate the one good thing with the dogs.

I don’t know bro

It does make me happy, but I'm scared too, because I don't know for sure if this is a normal behavior.
It's only me and my cat mostly, and apparently he is just depressed when I'm not home.
I'm almost certain he doesn't touch his food when I'm not around.

The neighbor was stuck outside his appartment once, he told me that after I left, the cat drove him crazy, he wouldn't stop hitting the doorknob and meowing.
I'm also certain he stopped fearing water so he can be near me when I shower.
He is after me 24/7 literally.

Imagine having a child that won't grow up, it's exactly how I feel.

The vet cant help sadly.
Unless there are cat psychiatrist out there haha...

Appatently it's symptomatic of cats who lost mother contact when they were little.
I picked him up at 2 months, he was with his sisters in a garbage bin...

I contemplated the idea of adopting a second cat but there is the risk it depresses him even further.

Cat like bite. How stop?
I will have my cat sleeping on my lap and all of a sudden she will go balostic and latches onto my arm and bite and kick my arm. How do I stop this behavior. Should I flick her ear like I would a dog? I tried hissing or yelping but she eventually got used to it and ignored it.

Guys my cats keep fucking fighting and I don't know what to do.

Background:
First cat is a 1 yr old I adopted when it was a very young kitten. Love him. Athletic, small tabby cat.

Second cat is a recent addition, a stray that I nursed back to health. Big lazy white cat. Vet said he was 2-3 years old. Love him too.

After the long introduction process, they've gotten along great. They'd play, they'd groom eachother (they still do) and sleep together, although not necessarily right beside eachother. But I've noticed that sometimes when they play they play VERY rough, to the point of actual fighting, forcing me to break it up. Either one will initiate but it does seem that my 1 yr old is doing it more.
One of them will either be playing with the other and then get rough and start it OR one of the two cats will pounce on the other.
Afterwards, they latch onto eachother's necks and keep biting. It doesn't look too hard but they roll around a lot and the biting is pretty excessive on both sides. I also noticed my one-year-old swats the other cat a lot when they do this, like it's a slapfight. Another huge thing that worries me about this is one cat or the other will make *constant* noise during these little tussles. Loud but short meows, or what sounds like mini-growls, and in a few instances I've even heard hissing (from the one-year-old only). Whenever I break it up, though, they just go separate ways for a bit then they act like nothing happened. They won't avoid eachother or anything.

What I've tried:
>separating them
They like eachother so much that they both dislike this and meow to be reunited.
>giving both constant attention
Ever since I got the new 2-3 year old cat I've made absolutely sure to do this, and I have been.
>playing with both enough
Same as above.
>giving them their individual spaces and resources
Their main rooms are on opposite sides of the house and they have everything they need.

I'm just really worried. I'd feel awful if they got hurt.
>>
>>2889967
Possibly. I try and play with her often. But if she starts biting I try and stop playing but I think that makes her more frustrated
>>
>>2889983
Also, they're both neutered.

Every year he decides the Christmas tree is his secret base and lurks underneath it 24/7. Can't put presents underneath any more since his love of ripping paper means he'll bite off all the wrapping and possibly ruin the gift.

Happy holidays, you little asshole, I love you.
>>
>>2889983
If there's never been blood or serious injury and they're obviously not upset by it, maybe just let them do it. If they're fighting but break it up without intervention you can try rewarding then with praise and food. It's possible it will stop entirely too as the kitten gets older and mellows out.

Cat is hyper and aggressively playful ever since I gave him catnip last night. He goes insane over the laser pointer and with the stuffed bird toy, which barely used to catch his interest. He's also trying to bite me more, and not letting me pet him as much. Any way to calm him down? liked it when he had his chill

>>
>>2890143
Just play with him. It's fun for the cat and it's actually pretty fun as a human too. It's good for bonding in both directions. Imo go for waving a piece of string around rather than a laser pointer so he feels like he's playing with you instead of a mysterious light. Biting is often just a normal playful behavior for cats. He should tire out after a while.

If you want to play around guessing his breed it's harmless, but trying to ID cat breeds on a stray is pretty useless, to be blunt. Unless a cat is papered, it's physical features and personality are just going to be a random assortment of traits, and coincidentally sharing a couple physical similarities with a certain breed doesn't rightfully make them any more desirable because it says nothing of their temperament.
Just call him an orange tabby domestic medium hair. You can match him to one of the ASPCA's 9 cat "Feline-alities", too, if you like.

cats prefer flowing water to stagnant water
in fact they have lots of hangups about water sources, due to being evolved from desert animals and having hyperefficient kidneys that can easily overwork into failure

they prefer their water sources separate from their food source and go nuts for fresh water. if you're really concerned maybe you can leave the tap dripping for a little while or just move the water bowl a little away from the food

Hey, toxofags. How do you keep indoor cats active?
>>
I have a question if anyone's got any ideas.

Ive got two cats, one's six and the other is nine months old. The nine month old is MASSIVE for his side but sweet and snuggly. The six year old is a bit shyer but also sweet and snuggly. After introducing them to each other, they got along well! They play and groom each other.

However, I've noticed the six year old has been eating less lately and I think she's lost weight. I took her to the vet but they say she's healthy so... I guess she's stressed and not eating as much because of it? The new cat is a bit pushy, but not mean when it comes to food. She's still all bright eyed and all, maybe a bit distant than usual but not lethargic.

What's the best way to get her appetite up? I've tried seperating their feeding times and she only still eats a few bites. Even with wet food she's eating with less gusto than she used to.

Should I try feeding her human food? Anyone's had any luck with this sort of scenario and getting a cat to eat?

For reference, I'm feeding her Core Wellness indoor formula and they're both indoor only.
>>
Some more questions from /nopets/.
Do cats understand and get attached to their names? I don't know if it'd be fair game to rename a cat I pick up from a shelter or another owner. Also, is it a bad idea to specify a first cat by specific breeds for behavior/looks/etc, or should I keep it simple and just find a common catch-all or mutt breed that meets what I'm looking for?

>>2891234
Thanks. Do I have to play with it all the time or will it learn to mess with the toys lying around and the scratching post first before doing all of the bad stuff?
>>
>>2887534
I'm sad to hear it, Anon, but rehoming one might be the best thing for both their well-being. That level of aggression and violence in the fighting means you'll need to watch them like a hawk, totally segregate them, and/or worry constantly about their safety otherwise.

Need some advice, know 4chan isn't the best place for it but you know how it is.

Long story shot, a relative dumped their cat on me and the cat takes absolutely monstrous shits. Soft, huge, and they stink worse than any cat shit I've smelled before. I swear to god, it looks like a human shit in the litter box every time.

The cat appears to be perfectly healthy. He's fit, energetic, weighty, his fur looks great, he's eating and drinking plenty, and his fur is shiny and thick. As far as I can tell, this cat is in tip-top shape.

But he has these catastrophic shits that stink up the whole house every time.

Any ideas on what the problem might be? He's indoor-outdoor (blame the previous owner, not me) so my only guess is that he's killing and eating things outside that aren't agreeing with him.
>>
>>2891485

No, it's denser than that. It's more like... a lot of regular shit. Just a whole lot of it.

It is worth mentioning that he's a pretty big cat, one of the biggest cats I've owned. Not sure what breed he is either, he's got short gray fur with a white undercoat. He could just be taking Big Shits.

>It is worth mentioning that he's a pretty big cat, one of the biggest cats I've owned. Not sure what breed he is either, he's got short gray fur with a white undercoat. He could just be taking Big Shits.
yeah, looks like it's that. If he's not burying the goods, try getting the big guy a bigger litterbox. If he's burying them, you can try silica-based litter (expensive) or this smell-absorbant powder you can pick up at pet stores. Personally though, I taught my cats to do the burying in the backyard and the litter box is only for nighttime emergencies
>>
>>2891424
Cat™ brand cat. The original. Tastes great, less filling.
>>
>>2891495
He does bury them, thankfully.

Reckon I should stop worrying, then. He's just a big lad that eats big meals and takes big awful shits. I can respect that.

I think he's a Korat by the way, or some kind of cross-breed. He's a real loudmouth and he's pretty crafty. Seems to understand how doorknobs work to a certain extent and he seems REALLY upset by the fact that he can't get the back door open himself.

He's a handful but I have to admit he's pretty entertaining to have around.
>>
>>2891502
nice, I really like smart cats
>>
>>2891293
Not all cats recognize their name, especially if they were strays named some random bullshit at the shelter. Adopting from another owner might be more difficult, but you can check if they know their name by saying it and seeing if their ears perk up or they otherwise respond. Also, cats can distinguish hard consonant sounds better than soft ones, so it might be easier to name train a cat to respond to Kitty than something like Lionel.
No reason to pay out the ass for a fancy cat. Cats aren't like dogs where mutts are crosses between recognizable breeds, they're just regular domestic short/medium/long-hairs.
>>
>>2891293
They certainly learn to associate food/cuddles with it but renaming isn't a problem.
>is it a bad idea to specify a first cat by specific breeds
Only if you expect too much. Not every purebred cats character or looks turn out exactly as described. If you want to make sure better get an adult cat.

>Do I have to play with it all the time
Expecially kittens and youngsters demand huge amounts of social playtime, even if they'll play with their toys a lot, too. As they get older it's more like once or twice a day a few minutes to half an hour of action.
If you don't think you'll have enough time for a young one but still want a cute little ball of energy to wreck your place, get two.

The scratching seems to be a matter of where you put the posts/mats, most cats prefer the ones they pass often. So if you put the scratching post in the last corner of a room that isn't frequently used but there's a couch in the middle of the living room, chances are, the cats will want to mark the couch. Putting a scratch mat on the edge of the couch would most likely prevent unwanted behaviour in that scenario.

My cat has been meowing almost nonstop for an entire week now. Took him to the vet when it started, everything looked fine except for what they said looked like a bruised penis. They wanted $75 for a urine test but also gave me a cup for a stool sample. Took the sample to them a day later and everything turned out fine but he still doesn't stop crying.

I opted out of the urine test because it seems like a rip off. They're always trying to charge me for tests that turn out fine in the end but I really don't know what's wrong with my cat. He eats and drinks fine, cries to be let outside but still cries when he's out there. Any ideas? Should I just drop the $75?

Been wary of other places since, but I have thought about looking elsewhere.

We damn near baby him and he gets irritated. I'm sure it's not attention he wants. He's not neutered so I was sure it was that but it's too weird. He's never done this before. Usually he was only annoying so he'd be let outside but it's not enough to calm him down now.

If he's eating cheap kibble right now, you can try switching him to wet food or a higher quality dry food with higher meat content.

Cats' digestive systems are made for meat, not grains, and the higher protein content means he won't have to eat as much to feel full.

Going to be adopting a 2nd cat later in the week, trying to be prepared and go about it the best I can.

Separating them for a week or so is best, right? I don't have the largest apartment known to man but I could probably give the cat space in the laundry room, with food, litter, etc.

Anything else I should know to hopefully not have two cats loathe each others existence?

Male Maine Coons are fucking hilarious, they act like complete goofballs and constantly want to sleep on your head. Never interacted with a female before but I hear they're more normal. The one I looked after was mostly an indoor cat, but it was in a two-story house and I was pretty much constantly there to play with him and give him attention. Space and time should definitely be things to think about with a breed that big and that energetic.

Seperateing them is a good idea! Get the new cat their own blanket and toys, let them get adjusted and then after a bit, give them each others blankets for awhile to sniff and get a feel for each other's scents.

You might have to switch them to a feeding regime until they're more comfortable with each other too. By feeding them at a certain time every day (and supervising it) you can make sure that they're not going to food hoard or bully each other over food resources. It helps cut down on conflict.

Even when you're ready to introduce them, make sure you do so at a distance, with only getting them closer once they can safely handle each other at that distance without hissing. Doing this by feeding them at opposite sides of the room at the same time is a good way to do it!

Also, give them both plenty of hidey holes to go into if one of them feels stressed.

How can I get my cat to exercise? Shes lazy as hell and she's not really interested in toys. No issues moving around though. She follows me everywhere. Everyone tells me shes fat so I'm trying to get her to lose a little weight.

Play with her a lot and make her work for her snacks/food by putting it in places she has to climb or jump on. Changing her diet is the most important part, though.

I thought maybe my good old girl was getting put down, yesterday.
She got really bad a few days ago during a very hot day. We thought maybe her organs were shutting down, or she had gotten crippling arthritis in her back legs, or something. She got a bit better each day in the days after, before the Vet could come over and take a look at her.
Turns out our other cat gave her a bite under her tail which had developed into an abscess. The Vet operated on it and says it nearly got into her anus but luckily did not.

My cat causes terror when he is hungry. For example, when he wants to be fed he will jump onto my laptop while I am working and then keep on running on top of it again and again. If I lock him out of the room he will bang on the door and claw the walls, and open the door and come back in if it is not locked. It is clear he wants attention, but for the sake of being fed he doesn't accept any petting or want to play at all when he gets like this. And if I get up and look at him he triumphantly trots to the kitchen where he is fed. I can't give into his demands anymore, he is getting fat! But does any one have any advice for my terrorist cat?

Art Blakey was also deaf if you want more options
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv9NSR-2DwM

although one of his bandmates said "In my opinion, his deafness was a little exaggerated, and it was exaggerated by him. He didn't hear well out of one ear, but he could hear just fine out the other one. He could hear you just fine when you played something badly and he was quick to say 'Hey, you missed that there.' But anything like 'I don't think I'll be available for the next gig', he'd say 'Huh? I can't hear you.'"

How would a cat react if it was brought inside suddenly after living outside all it's life? Would it be negative or what?
>>
Maybe someone here can calm my senses. So over the weekend, my indoor cat got out, met the neighbor dogs and then frantically climb the tree. When I was able to get her down, we notice her left hind inward toe was injured but the vets in my area don't open until Monday so we cleaned her up the best we could and I took her Monday. Turns out she got her toe infected and the bone is basically snapped in half. The vet told me the best thing to do is to amputate the toe to prevent the infection from traveling and the other option would be to put a pin in the toe and see if it heals but he said if the bone is infected or if the bone doesn't heal correctly, she will have bigger problems later on so he doesn't recommend it. Has anyone had a similar experience? I just want to know if what I am doing is the best choice for her. I've been feeding her antibiotics every day and I've been keeping her constrained to one room in the house with the least possible movement because she also has a cast like bandage on her foot. I have another cat for almost 10 years without any problems but this one I've gotten this year and she's only a little bit over half a year old.
>>
>>2893358
Depends on the cats outdoor experience and character. Some strays won't leave the house again, even if they can, while some are at risk of developing behavioral issues. Some half feral ones that never been indoors anywhere might be scared at first.

What are you planning?

>>2893370
I'd say trust the vet and amputate.
While she's young and might make it through the operations to save the toe, it means several vet visits, more stress and maybe a somewhat fucked up toe for life. Cats are great at adapting to loosing a whole limb or all teeth, loosing one toe seems like it's really not a big deal.
I wouldn't try to save it if it endangers her health or ability to run around and have fun.

Thanks for the response, it really helps just being able to talk to someone about this. I'm just so nervous because the first time I took her in for the xray and then she woke up with the bandage she freaked out and started thrashing around the holding cage. I don't want the same thing to happening again when she does so after the surgery. The vet told me that it might be because of a cardiac problem, but I think it's more so that she is traumatized by the entire experience. He also did an xray of her chest and didn't find anything alarming.
