How could they get it so wrong?

There is nothing wrong with leaving your home country and love interest for a couple of years in order to learn how to cook Mexican food during the most fertile years of your life.
>>
>>183188541
They try to add in a shoujo/josei ending to a show marketed towards shounen.

The male equivalent is three years in Austin pounding all drunk whores until your dick nearly fell off.

>make the sequel to the popular Amagami SS
>blow it so hard 3 of the 6 heroine's paths don't get animated and the game tanks

I hope the people responsible for Seiren were sacked and blackballed from the industry for such a miserable failure.
>>
>>183188541
Amagami wasn't that good either.

It wasn't but social media and most importantly, mobile phone usage isn't that common at that time so people are less united.

Now, backlash at being conned is far worse.

>People liked Amagami for it's lighthearted romance
>Let's make a story about a girl who whores around Spain for 5 years after dumping the MC because he liked her omelette
>And we'll frame her coming back to Japan as a "happy and hopeful" ending because us Japanese writers are the kind of absolute fucking retards who think a shitty attempt at a bittersweet ending is someone mature and artistic
>>
>>183188860
Amagami had a protagonist who did more than just blush and cower any time a woman looked at him.
It also had the wherewithal to actually start the anime off with a satisfying payoff. Haruka invites Junichi to spend Christmas with her, they spend the night together, and the epilogue has then happily married. Compare that to Seiren, where Tsuneki just teased him the entire time while he spilled his spaghetti, only for her to friendzone him and fuck off for years before the epilogue has them meet again through pure chance since she never contacted him like she promised to.

Are you not entertained? is this not why you are here?

I love how she's spreading her lips with her fingers

They were idiots with what they did with Tsuneki's route and how they presented it as the first route of the show with that kind of ending. Preorders crashed after Tsuneki's arc and people were extremely paranoid that they were going to pull the same thing during Toru's route so they just dropped it.

>mfw RUISE CRUISE NEVER EVER
>>
>>183188541
Normally having the fucking off for 5 years ending wouldn't be terrible but having it in an Amagami successor really fucked things up, especially as the first arc. That's the worst kind of ending to have in this kind of series, aside from full on NTR bullshit.
Also the MC wasn't as good as Junichi.

>Normally having the fucking off for 5 years ending wouldn't be terrible
Yes it would.
>>
>>183189488
carn wrote a doujin about that arc, like easiest ntr doujin he ever wrote on his life.
>>
>>183189424
Kyoko and Toru's routes were more in line with what people expected from an Amagami successor. Junichi was far better because it was pretty relatable seeing a guy get stood up by a girl, dealing with the trauma of that and then moving forward by his own will while the MC of Seiren was just a passive dude who fantasied far too much.
>>
>>183189522
Outside of a soap drama made for women so they can self insert having all the cocks they can fit pounding into the highway they called their pussies before settling down, it's pretty shitty trope only serve to incense other target groups.
>>
>>183188541
>first heroine is cuckbait all the way to the very end
>proceeds to kill the franchise even though the next two arcs are decent
>second arc had a NTRbait cliffhanger for one episode just for the sake of it
Besides the first arc being ill conceived the director must have been some ntrnigger to pull that shit in the first place.

I have no idea what the fuck they did with Seiren. The MC is a beta bitch instead of a normal dude like Junichi, and the first arc with Tsuneki droping the MC to fuck off for years in spain without ever talking to him and then come back and meet him by chance was just plain stupid. They seriously thought people who liked Amagami would love this shit?
>>
The biggest mistake was the MC, he was a bitch. Half of the fun of Amagami was Junichi's interactions with other characters.
>>
>>183189978
Kaoru is so best.
>>
>>183188860
Junichi was alpha as fuck who knows what he wants and went for it like a man. That alone was enough to elevate Amagami well above most shows of its kind, especially the piece of shit "spiritual successor" that was Seiren.
>>
>>183190478
People wildly overrate Junichi because of basically one scene where he proposed, and even then he was tricked into it. For the most part, both MCs acted the same, and were pretty bland.

>Junichi was alpha as fuck
Not at all, he was pretty alright though. It's just Seiren's is so shit that Junichi looks much better.

I didn’t realize this until I gave it a rewatch.
>>

It would've been okay had they promised to wait for each other or something, but instead the dude got friend zoned, she never talked to him again in school (Even though they still had a year and half left) and even the epilogue just has the dude being a wage slave doing his best to please his now "girlfriend"
>>
>>183191231
>she never talked to him again in school
I forgot about that bit. Thanks for reminding me how hilariously bad it was.
>>
>>183191231
Yeah they really fucked up the Tsuneki arc. Like it could have worked if it was bittersweet but instead it was "nope there's no pay off whatsoever now watch as the MC wastes 5 years of his life for a chance at something happening."
>>
>>183191157
She needs a doctor. Her neck is clearly broken.
>>
>>183189488
The worst part is that there wasnt even much doujins about the NTR. People just straight out hated it. What a cluster fuck.
>>
>>183191157
I feel bad for Ruise's VA. She was a complete unknown and Ruise was going to be her chance to voice a main heroine, but the show crashed and burned before she got her turn. The poor girl was even doing marketing for it.
>>
>>183191954
there are 3, and only one about that clusterfuck its hilarious.
>>
In Tsuneki's drama CD, Shouichi proposes to her some time after the ending of her arc. She says yes.
The way the ending in the anime was handled is still dumb however.
>>
>No Makoto
I just want to see if she will stalk Shouichi like her sister.
